10. Blikopener Caressa: “At school, we often visited museums as a group, but for some reason we looked at art differently. We were never allowed to pick our own artworks; we always had to follow a book, and that wasn’t much fun. But thanks to the Stedelijk, I’ve seen the art world close up and experienced it differently.”
11. Young People on Blikopeners Blikopener Anouk: ‘When I told a girl in my class I worked for the Stedelijk, she said, “Wooooow, that’s sooo cool, I’d neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever have thought about that but cos you’re working there, I’ll probably go.” So I think I opened her eyes! ‘
12. Blikopener Lisa: “Friends I’d invited to Holy Shit were really enthusiastic about what went on and the next day chatted about how great it was and how much they’d enjoyed it.” Blikopener Mirelva: ”Some of my friends came to the Blikopeners evening; they were a bit skeptical at first, but the guided tour sparked an interest in a couple of artworks.”
13. Martijn van Nieuwenhuyzen, curator Stedelijk Museum on Blikopeners: “It shows that looking and talking together about art really helps you to get to the core of an artwork quite quickly. It was exciting for me to hear the adult insights of a young generation.”
