Group Inquiry Project

2. Important Dates
We will be presenting our projects on Thursday
December 2nd.
That means, we will be setting up on Wednesday
December 1st.
That means your project should be done by Tuesday
November 30th.

3. Working as a Team
In order for your project to be a success, it is ESSENTIAL
that you cooperate effectively. Here are my suggestions:
- At some point each of you will have to make a
compromise – be open to that.
- Do what’s best for the group, not just what you want to
do.
- Use Google Docs to share your work with each other.
- Divide up the jobs that have to be done.
- Meet after school and/or on the weekend, if possible.
- Be good to each other!

4. Remember…
1. It has to look GREAT! Make sure you present your
work extremely well. Take CARE with your work
and ensure it is your best.
2. It must be finished on time. There can be no
excuses or exceptions for not having it done.
3. Ask for help. If you are stuck or need advice, please
ask , anytime.
4. Share your ideas. Help each other.

6. Inquiry Booklet
Your Inquiry booklet should detail the journey you and
your group from the beginning of this journey. It
should include:
- Reflections
- Plans
- Brainstorms
- Problems and Successes
This will be a separate booklet that is also presented
during the exhibition.

7. Poster
Your poster serves as a backdrop to your main museum
item. On the poster you will need to include:
 Your main question
 Your lines of inquiry
 Pictures of your process
 Central Idea
 Multi-lingual parts
 Reflections/plans/brainstorms
 Questions
 Your Information Sources Rating Chart
 A few select reflections (or quotes)

8. Museum Item
Your museum Item what you create to present the information
you have discovered – the answers to your main question.
It can be any form you’d like, including:
- Model - Book
- Movie - Picture Book
- Slideshow - Play
- Living Item - Diorama
- Audio - Or anything else you can think of.
I suggest you think about how information was presented at the
History Museum – what was good, bad, interesting, cool
about what you saw there?

9. Information Sources Ratings Chart
Over the next month we will be exploring, in detail,
different sources of information. You must use the
class system that we developed to describe and rate
all of these sources of information.
Each person must have this Chart in their inquiry
books and make sure that it is up-to-date.
One group chart will have to be published and
presented on your poster.

10. Oral Presentation
When parents, teachers and other students visit your
display, they will want to hear what it’s about, how
you did it, what you know…
Be prepared to speak about your project and answer
questions. That means you have to be an expert!
