Editor's Notes

  1. Personal site is a supplement to the traditional forms of teaching. It is not an obligatory component of professional activity, that is why the use of personal site in the work is defined by the desire of the teacher. If we think over, why do we need it, how will it help us in our work, then we choose the site and we are ready to invest our time and intellect in it. Because the feature of any productive use of any information services is its being up to date. The information resource can not be created once and then constantly used. On the contrary, it requires constant mentoring, content, optimization - not even from the technological but from the content side. Therefore, the presence of the website requires constant attention both from the standpoint of the Administration and from the perspective of instructional design.
  2. So, what is the personal site in the work of a teacher? It is a systematic bank of various materials - educational, cognitive, academic. This is an area of communication with the trainees. It is the system support of the professional work that allows you to streamline and automate many actions of the teacher. These are my personal conclusions, based on the years of the use of the site in my work. The main task of the teacher is to relate, or to adapt, educational aims and information technology. More specifically, it is to answer the questions: what am I going to do on the site (which professional tasks will I solve with the help of the site) and which technical features (functions) will be used for this purpose? It is clear that we must be aware of the first and the second. By the way , the second - is the functional of supposed site, which on a particular hosting - you can cope with in the process of working.
  3. In general, the following thing is important. Any site is a number of pages with the system functions. You can use the free site builder, which is very much spread on the Internet.You need to choose a hosting service, define the ideology of the site (the main purpose,goals, objectives), get acquainted with the site design modules, select and plug the appropriate ones. The next step is very important. It is consisting of thinking over the structure of the site content. Since we are talking about an educational website that is site, which is designed to support, first of all , the educational process, the peculiarities of the educational process , familiar to you, should be taken into account, as well as educational programs, which you work with. This will be reflected in the pages of the site, as well as IN THE CATEGORIES AND SECTIONS of your pages. You should also think about the organization of students registered on the website (groups, cities, educational institutions). Now you're ready to set up and fill the modules of the site. Settings are chose from the proposed system, do not be afraid, they can always be changed. During the filling of the site you should decide on the principles of stationing the information , guided by the Law "On Copyright", the site's purposes, objectives of the educational process and your options.
  4. I will share my experience with two personal sites: DIARY OF TEACHING PRACTICE (http://praktika.my1.ru) and ACADEMIC WORK (http://savrasova2009.my1.ru) with the students. I'll tell you what tasks in which way are implemented on both sites. Once a reservation , a large proportion of the functional from the available in the chosen constructor is not being used, I even refused from some of the functions by some of the functions later on-from instant messaging, postal forms and counters.
  5. What can be done with the help of the site? The PLACEMENT OF EDUCATIONAL CONTENT Placement of training texts: A separate section of the site, for users not to confuse Catalogue of educational materials= file directory Structured: Category (academic subjects) / / Sections (Methodological recommendation; useful materials) The material appears as a Title and a brief description and displays information about the screenings, downloads, author of placing , date, comments. When you click on the title -the full text in special form can be seen. It can be commented, and ratings may be in the form of stars. It can also be downloaded as the file. You can work further with the placed material: change, delete, define keywords for site search, view / change the statistics. The articles can be sorted on various grounds for users - by date, rating, downloads, etc
  7. This section is filled with by the teacher, although you can allow the students to add something as well. My basic decision: I do not place the educational texts (books, files, etc.), only the personally created methodical recommendations or comments to some kind of resource.

There are psychological tests, and joke tests from the company uCoz (blue headers), and the teachers’ tests are made with a list (in sort of links) at the beginning of the page. When placing the test tasks the settings are being mounted: the number of answers,variants,evaluation options, test mode, etc. The range of settings is quite standard and allows you to replace the well-known third-party test services.

From my personal experience I would say that it is important to title the assignment in the right way and to insist on strict observance of given instructions. There is a structure that is familiar to all - categories (objects, as in the all sections of the site), and sections – here are the training groups (course, code number, year). It is possible to choose the works of the students of particular groups. The total number of works is indicates , the name of the work (surname_task number) and a brief description. You can see the text by clicking on the title.

Assignments can be comment on, not only by a teacher, you can set the rating, you can implement the traditional functions of management: edit, hide, set the key words, etc. Thus, this particular section is the main for placing the students’ text works which are done as a rule individually. You can add the individual tasks by writing public reviews on other people's works, here in the section.
  12. For the individual tasks performed in the format of the image there is a gallery section. Categories of module are correlated with educational groups: each group has its own the album. And the section in the category is made if necessary for different tasks. Structuring pages of the site - this is a very important issue that affects understandability of navigation and the orientation of the resource in general . On the home page of the gallery sectionthere are all the albums ,you need to click on the name –and the album with all the photos will open. Each of them can be viewed in any desired size, made comments on, assessed, and traditionally, moderated.

  14. Group work is implemented by means of section Forum. This adjustment occurs through the administration panel, and all the major titles are reflected in the main field of the page. This year a lot of students worked here as they were at their school practice.

Assessing the activity of the students that work with documents on this site, we can say that every day the site is visited by 27% of the students, while for many other students the work with the site required a mood (27%) or a special necessity (19%) (Fig. 1). On the main forum several topics were set up, where students could discuss different problems which they are interested in: "Documents. The teacher’s information"," A personalized student intern, "" Let's start to share your impressions ... "," The most interesting moments in your practice, "" Different photos from your practice. "The most popular section was "Let's start to share your impressions" (150 views and 40 responses), while other themes were seen from 26 to 101 times, and from 3 to 22 responses (Fig. 2).
  16. For the forum to "live", it should be a regularly moderated, daily and qualitatively. For the teacher it can be a very heavy work. If possible, full-time interactions, it is better not to use it too much. Here in the forum you can place exercises that can be made in the form of presentation. As a rule, I do not limit access to students’ works - their works are public. This is a very powerful motivator: everyone can see you work, there is a good reason to work hark. And of course, my comments also have a powerful impact, which are also public their function is education to all users. I try to comment taking into an account other readers, too.
  17. CONTROL OF STUDENTS’ ACTIVITY Control begins with the registration. It is really necessary to explain clearly the rules of the behavior on the site for all users : everything is written on a separate page in the author's instructions.
