Solitons and compactons are solitary waves, moving with
      constant velocity V without change of their shape. The main
      difference between them is seen on the graphs shown below:

So how can we distinguish the solitary wave solutions and
      compactons within the set of TW solutions?


      To answer this question, we restore to the geometric
      interpretation of these solutions.

      Both solitons and compactons are the TW solutions, having the

      considering the Korteveg-de Vries (KdV) equation
