What is a Child Labour?
Can you imagine working for a few pennies a day, not getting an education and never
seeing your parents? This is a reality for many child labourers in the world.Organizations like
Free The Children, Children’s Rights help raise awareness, and help can we stop child labour.
More than two hundred million children are working as child labour today (D’Adamo, v). We
need to know about this problem and we need to free all the children out there.
Free The Children, is an awareness raising organization that helps children working in
factories, stores, and sweatshops. Iqbal was a child and he got killed because he was trying to
stop child labour. You can read the novel called Iqbal by Francesco D’Adamo.Iqbal inspired the
founder of Free The Children. The Vow of Silence was startedby Free the children. The Vow of
Silence is done every November 30th. Over 1000 students took courage and not talking,
Tweeting, Tumblr, and no Facebook communication. The Me to We event was also started by
free the children. They had many speakers that came and help inspire other people. We need
to donate to Free The Children so they can help children and save a life.
We need to support Free The Children so they can help. Child labour’s has a right to
quite working and go back to their families: “You have the right to live with a family who cares
for you” (Article 9). All children have a right to talk and stand up to their masters:“You have the
right to give your opinion, and for adults to listen and take it seriously” (Article 12). Every child
has a right to be free from child labour: “You have a right to protection from any kind of
exploitation”(Article 36). Everyone has a right including you so we need to spread the word
out.

How can we stop child labour? We need to give out information to everyone how child
labour is a terrible problem for this world. We could do this by putting up posters in stores. Also
we need to raise enough money so child labour will be an end. We can raisemoney by having a
bake sale. We also need to make a video how child labour is a horrible thing for this world. This
will help us by taking an action and stop child labour.
Child labour should be against the law. We need to raise a lot of money so we can save
the lives of child labourers. Also we need to take a stand up for those who can’t stand up for
themselves.
