My inquiry learning term 2 2011

1. AUTHENTIC TASK LEARNING Created By Spencer McKay Smith

2. I learnt that authentic task is. Making our own conclusions to a question which affects ourselves and the people around us. Authentic task is mainly based on Questioning, dialogue, reflecting and creating. WHAT IS AUTHENTIC TASK

3. ANIMALS We have learnt many things about different animals. We have learnt about their emotions like when their family or friends die and their actions about it. We got this information from the zoo DVD. We have came up with a fertile question. Do we live in a human zoo? I learnt how to compare human and animal characteristics.

4. HUMAN SOCIETY I learnt many things about human society. Human society is based on Rules & Restrictions, Rights and Responsibilities, Relationships with other people/Teamwork, Community , Beliefs and Emotions and Actions . My group and I have been working on answering sub questions we used many different sources we got told about to get our answer. Our questions were based on relationships with other people

5. BLOOMS TAXONOMY I learnt that blooms taxonomy is making you think about your learning. Bloom taxonomy is Remembering , Understanding, Applying, Analysing, Evaluating and Creating. Every task related question is related to one of the blooms taxonomy.

6. KEY COMPETENCIES Ilearnt that Key competencies that relate to this task are based on Teamwork, Concentration and behavior. The key competencies are thinking, relating to others, managing self and participating and contributing. I learnt that it is a good technique to come up with better ideas for your learning.

7. SKIMMING AND SCANNING I learnt that Skimming and scanning is a useful skill to find the information you want. You read the first sentence of each paragraph so you can find the information you need.

8. SURVEYS & INTERVEIWS I learnt that Surveys and interviews are useful strategies to answer questions as they are opinion based. It is also useful because peoples past experiences, It can can help you with answering the question, It could give you more ideas for more questions or it cold help you answer your question.

9. ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS AND SUB QUESTIONS I learnt that essential questions come with many different answers . Essential questions are answerable. Essential questions cover many different areas. This term our essential question is, How can we improve the society we live in. I learnt many things about answering and creating sub questions. I learnt how to answer them .
