2. Characters
There are 3 characters
in our thriller opening
they are:
Sophie – She is a
student of criminology
in the present day.
Eve – A victim of a
crime which was
committed in the past.
Tommy – The criminal
from both the past and
present.
3. Costume
For Tommy the costume will be
simple but meaning full he will wear a
classic suit in the past and a modern
take on the suit in the present but will
always be wearing a trilby to show
the audience the dark side of the
character from the off as it is common
for gangsters to wear such attire.
For Eve the costume
will be classic for the
1930-40’s, she will
have the same hair as
Mia from Pulp Fiction
as an intertexual
For Sophie the costume
will me modern but
smart, to give the
audience the idea that
she is important and
knows what she is
doing.
5. The camera will be for
Sophie as she will be taking
pictures of the old crime
scene.
Props
The gloves are for Tommy
as no evidence of him was
found at the crime scene
and so they show that he
was prepared to kill.
The laptop and mirror
will be used in the final
shot as a way to see
the reflection of
Tommy (The Killer).
The pearls are to be worn by Eve to show
that she is bad luck and that something bad is
about to happen to her, Sophie will also wear
them for the same reason.
6. Camera Angles
Side on close ups and
the rule of thirds work
well together to give
a profile of a
character.
The shot in The Third
Man with Harry Lime is
an iconic tilt with great
use of shadows which
we are going to try to
recreate.
Close up shots are
very important as
they add
suspense and
