This document announces a two-day national level workshop on Network Simulator (NS-2) for wireless networks to be held on October 7-8, 2014 at Sona College of Technology in Salem, Tamil Nadu. The workshop aims to provide knowledge on using NS-2 for research in wireless networks. Topics will include new agent and queue implementation, routing protocols for MANET and sensor networks, and location- and energy-aware design. Participants must register by September 30 and pay a registration fee. Accommodation will be provided on campus for those requesting it in advance.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering –PG started in 2005. The first batches of two PG Programs – ME in Communication Systems and ME in VLSI Design were admitted in 2005. The department has achieved many laurels and milestones in short span of time. Research work undertaken by students and faculty have
produced many high quality publication in Journals with impact factors and quality conferences at national and international level. Research work is undertaken in many frontier areas of Electronics, Communication, VLSI Design and Embedded Systems. Faculty are highly motivated and involved in higher studies and research activities apart from their class room teaching. The department is approved Centre of Ph.D. program under Anna University, Chennai.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
NS-2 is a discrete event simulator targeted at Networking Research. NS-2 provides substantial support for simulation of TCP, routing, and multicast protocols over wired and wireless networks. The objective of the workshop is to provide knowledge about using NS-2 for scientific and research purpose.
