family members in the well-known overseas immigration destination with the
renowned Parents and Grandparents Permits.

As per a report, the nation has closed-down the special immigration scheme once
again. During 2011, Ottawa had frozen visa petitions under a special immigration
scheme, to manage a huge build-up of waiting time of close-to eight years. It had
started admitting petitions once again in January this year under fresh conditions,
and also put an upper limit on the figure of submission restricting the same to just
5000. The said limit was touched in only 33 days, and as a result, the doors have
been shut down once more.

The sponsoring family members were supposed to cater to these new visa conditions:
• A 30% augmentation in the bare minimum necessary income.
• Evidence that the earnings level has been successfully fulfilled in the past three years as
against the earlier requirement of just 1 year.
• The sponsoring time would at the present be 20 years which increases by 100% from the
preceding just 10 years.
These steps are allegedly meant to cut-down social dependency on the Canadian
administration.

While the positive development is that 50% of the build-up has already been successfully
cleared, the bad development is that just 66% of the pending petitions may be duly
cleared by the close of the next year.

Numerically speaking, in two years time half of the build-up may be cleared, then why just
one-fourth in the coming two years? Why not the whole build-up, and get a 100% in a
parallel time? At least the back log segment may be suitably cleared, and could be
somewhat longer to attend to the added 5000 fresh aspirants this year.

Ottawa genuinely realizes the value of family reunion and it understands the import of
progress in the immigration arrangement.
