Hello, good evening! Brazil celebrates Carmen Miranda 100th Centennial today. She was born in
9 February 1909. I'm disappointed for not having any album with her unique music to make a
tribute. However, it is essential that Loronix makes this tribute. Icons by IconDrawer

Hello, good evening! When I started this transfer tonight, I realized that I could not get away
from the turntable hearing the opening track 01 - Gotas de Lagrimas, which is also the title

EVENTS
Hello, good evening! I was dedicated on this writing during the last 3 hours. I made different
versions using some ideas and approaches and I could not reach the results I was looking for.
Now my eyes hurt, and if you have diabetes, you cannot play with your eyes. However, I cannot
wait another 24 hours. I decided to write it from scratch, it is a very important post. This
fantastic musician is being introduced to Loronix's community for the first time tonight. And he
is also, how can I say... a "true" Loronixer, a challenge winner that you already known using the
gorgeous nickname of Pianista Sambista. Guilherme Vergueiro. Let's see.
This is Guilherme Vergueiro - Guilherme Vergueiro Ao Vivo (1982), for Estudio Eldorado,
recorded live at "International Jazz Montmartre", Copenhagen, Denmark. It is hard to believe
that I had the chance to hear this album for the first time only this week. This is really
fantastic music played with passion by this quartet. I urge Loronix's community to take Ao Vivo
for a hearing and also visit Guilherme Vergueiro official website at
www.guilhermevergueiro.com.br and the Pianista Sambista's blog at
http://pianeiro.blogspot.com. This album never had a CD reissue and I put a lot of energy on
this transfer. Thanks Guilherme Vergueiro for the music, the respect you have to your public,
the happiness and the energy. I'm making available Guilherme Vergueiro's own biography taken
from his official website. Tracks include:
I
" am a Brazilian who sees music as a work of art. I had
all the classical training, but decided to get into the popular
genre, because I have always been a deluded by Samba,
Samba Canção (Brazilian ballad), Choro, Seresta and
Bossa Nova. And I always been that way and behave this
way since the beginning of my career in the late 60s.
Each song that I play, each performance, each recording
has to be definitive. As an art we have in the living room
wall throughout our lives. I like to interpret in my way and
style, Brazilian music, translating the melodies, harmonies
and Brazilian rhythms into the human feelings, the feelings
of the Brazilian people, and for being like this I am very
demanding with myself. I feel a huge responsibility every
time I play the piano. Also I do not like to ever repeat
myself. If I have to play the same song a myriad of times,
each time has to be different, according to the day, time,
era, the audience and especially my state of mind. Each
day is a day, every hour is an hour. I have always to be
open to what I'm feeling at the moment, open to new ideas
that emerge in the middle of an interpretation, of an improvisation. I have no restrictions when I
play the piano. I relate to it, we became one. My heart is the boss. Sends what I am feeling to my
brain which in return sends the messages to my fingers. All of this in milliseconds. You should be
very concentrated, otherwise the boat sinks. I just love the challenge, the emotion, the freedom

that comes playing like that. Some pianists play with the fingers, I play with the heart.
I have infinite respect for the audience that is listening to me. My wish is to perpetuate in their
hearts feelings, feelings that never will leave them. Sadness, joy, tension, density, lightness,
rebellion, always truthful and sincere feelings, identifiable with the feelings and life of each. After
all, every human being is equal, we all have our tragedies, struggles, loves, passions, adventures
and misadventures, problems, joys, sorrows, happiness, certainty and uncertainty, insecurity and
security and when we go to a concert, show, or listen to some music at home, in the car, we are
actually looking for some form of relief and/or comfort to our souls, and sometimes I am the one
who take responsibility for bring this relief and/or comfort to people. I feel a huge responsibility. I
dive into the bottom of my soul to find the most pure and sincere sentiments so the public can
leave a little of the harsh reality of life behind, and go to other dimensions, other spheres, more
calm and benevolent, where love prevails, where the union really is the force, where there is
peace, tranquility and serenity. I always hope for that all my appearances and/or recordings stay
for ever in the heart and soul of the people. I am very careful with this, but I confess that I feel I'm
still learning. That music is infinite and that learning ends only when God calls us for other
missions.
But since I'm still here, (and hopefully stay for a long time), I still am always eager for the
improvement of my mission here, which is to be a musician. A Brazilian musician. A Pianist. Be
more patient, dedicated, conscientious and increasingly concentrated.
I pray to God to never forget me, (as He never forgot), that my inspiration and my love for others
are increasingly in accordance with His teachings and that I can accomplish the task that was
given to me always with more balance, wisdom, concentration, strength, responsibility, joy and
much love, whether playing, composing, arranging, producing or making a documentary. (My new
passion.)
In my life I already, experienced much love, joy, excitement, difficulties, betrayal, losses ... but I
survived. I did much good, I made many friends, (Maybe I have some enemies, but either I do not
know them or I do not know that is an enemy) but I also sinned. A whole lot of sins. I had many
false friends. Many women left me. But the music and the piano never. Neither the real friends.
Thank God!" (Guilherme Vergueiro)

This is Juca Mestre and His Brasileiros - Panorama Musical do Brasil (1962), for Audio Fidelity
(USA), yet another album recorded in Brazil, featuring Brazilian musicians and produced for the
US audience. This cover is so great that alone makes this album an essential to Loronix
collection, regardless the music inside, which is not the case. Panorama Musical do Brasil is
above the average and features a sort of "big band" playing hits of the time with very nice
arrangements by Maestro Juca Mestre.
I'm also making available an equivalent picture of Enseada de Botafogo taken last year. It is
nice to see how Rio de Janeiro has changed across four decades. I was not born in 1962, but I
really miss this time. And since everybody is now hearing Joao Gilberto or visiting Toque
Musical, I would like to make a challenge. The first comment sent with the identification of

Roberto Ribeiro - Arrasta Povo (1976) (7) comments
Monday, February 02, 2009 by zecalouro
Hello, good evening! It is nice to introduce a new artist to Loronix community, and it is also
nice to make a Samba album again. Needless to say again that I am not the right person to
review a Samba LP, but I believe we are in front of one of those classic albums in the style.
Roberto Ribeiro has a great voice and it is a really good Samba interpreter. He delivers that
kind of melodic Samba in minor key and this album features some of his well known tunes
released in the 1970's. Let's see.
This is Roberto Ribeiro - Arrasta Povo (1976), for Odeon.
Now I remember that Loronix has already an album
recorded by Roberto Ribeiro, which is his first LP, the
impossible to find Sangue, Suor e Raca (1972) with Elza
Soares, highly recommended -- just click at the album
cover in your left -- and featuring arrangements by
Maestro Dom Salvador. By the way, Elza Soares "revealed"
Roberto Ribeiro with this album and some singles
released with him in the period. I think you will have a
very solid listening with Roberto Ribeiro. Tracks include:

Canhoto da Paraiba - Um Violao Direito nas Maos do
Canhoto (1974) (3) comments
Saturday, January 31, 2009 by zecalouro
Hello, good evening! Before talking about this fantastic contribution sponsored by Jorge Mello, I
would like to show an important upgrade made on Loronix Preview Center, available since
yesterday night. Before this upgrade, I have to admit that our "radio" was really boring, static,
with the same set of songs every day.
Things are really different now. The playlist, which is the list of songs available, is now sitting
in a database, running in our dedicated server. Instead of a limited and static list, Loronix
Preview Center is now recovering 35 songs, drawn randomly from a total of 353 available. The
list of songs you have right now is different from mine and also different from other friends.
Really great, but just a detail.
Take a look at the bottom part of the player. We have a search feature available and this is the
great thing about Loronix Preview Center. It is very easy, just enter a search term and our
database will return another set of songs, according to your selected criteria. You can search
for an artist, a song, an album name and even a musical genre. As an example, searching the
term "instrumental" makes Loronix Preview Center returns only instrumental tracks. Feel free
to play with Loronix Preview Center and don't forget to report if something does not work as it
should. The new player is available here and permanently at Loronix side bar.
This is Canhoto - Um Violao Direito nas Maos do Canhoto (1974), for the legendary label

Hello, good evening! I'm trying to make this post
since Saturday night. And I'm really sorry about
this; I had to skip a really important celebration
yesterday, which was Antonio Carlos Jobim, 82
years birthday. Additionally, I missed some
announcements of friends that were celebrating
Antonio Carlos Jobim yesterday, such as the great
work made by Jassvan in New York, running a
Marathon with Jobim's music and special guests
on WKCR-89.9FM, also at www.wkcr.org. I'm
really sad to miss this announcement and also
missing the broadcast tribute itself. Jassvan
always speaks about Loronix on his radio show
and I urge Loronix's community to reach the radio
website and listen to Jassvan show, broadcasted
every Sunday at midnight.
The show must go on, and I would like to upgrade
this really nice and inexplicable underrated
album, a Bossa Nova classic recorded in 1976 by
Stan Getz, featuring João Gilberto and with the participation of Miucha. Let's see.
This is Stan Getz - The Best of Two Worlds, featuring Joao Gilberto (1976), for Columbia. There
is something very unique about this album, which is the participation of Antonio Carlos Jobim.
He wrote English lyrics to his compositions especially for this occasion. This cover is also a must
and probably assembled by Columbia, since Joao Gilberto appears with the same photo with
different situation in the front and back cover. This upgrade includes a new vinyl transfer with
FLAC files, new cover scans and also personnel listing, with some nice surprises. Tracks include:

Hello, good evening! I would like to make clear all the difficulties I have to make such music.
My musical knowledge is very limited, especially when I leave the safe terrain of Brazilian
music. I think I never have something to add on top of what you probably already know. As a
matter of fact, Loronix slogan says "Music from Brazil", which represents the music that comes
from Brazil, even if it is presented by foreign artists and musicians.
This disc is an example. It has Brazil inside and was recorded by one of the best singers ever
known. Definitely, it could not be out of our collection. It has only Brazilian musicians,
including a special participation of Maestro Antonio Carlos Jobim. Let's see.
This is Sarah Vaughan - O Som Brasileiro de Sarah Vaughan (1978), for RCA, featuring Sarah
Vaughan renditions of well-known Brazilian classics written by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Milton
Nascimento, Durval Ferreira, Marcos Valle, Dorival Caymmi, among others. I'm really impressed
by the way Sarah Vaughan sings. Tracks include:

Hello, good evening! While waiting for a Moacyr Silva album reissued in the CD format, I would
like to reactivate and show an improved version of E Tempo de Samba, which is one of the first
vinyl transfers I did to Loronix's community. I will never understand why Moacyr Silva never had
a career album reissued. The only way to listen to his music is from the old LPs or from music
sharing blogs, such like Loronix. I heard many times that Moacyr Silva can be easily compared
with acclaimed Jazz musicians and several friends said that went crazy when spinning his music
for the first time. Anyway, this is an early Moacyr Silva album, recorded in 1963, the first he
makes backed by an orchestra. Let's see.
This is Moacyr Silva, Sua Orquestra e Coro - E Tempo de Samba (1963), for Copacabana,
featuring Moacyr Silva tenor sax backed by orchestra conducted by Maestro Jose Pacheco Lins,
also known as Maestro Pachequinho. My apologies to Maestro Diogo Pacheco, which I gave
credit as Maestro Pachequinho at the original post and also when I met him personally on a
business event in the end of the 1990's. That's all friends! I hope you enjoy Moacyr Silva with
Orchestra as I did yesterday and today when writing these lines. I'll be also waiting for Zarville's
feedback, Loronix official orchestra album reviewer. Personnel listing was not credited by
Copacabana. Tracks include:
01 - A Felicidade (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes) -- Outro Sol Em Nosso Amor (Jean Pierre /
Hélio Augusto)
02 - Do Jeito Que a Gente Quer (Ed Lincoln) -- Menino Desce Daí (Paulinho Nogueira)
03 - Fita Amarela (Noel Rosa) -- Tema da Meia-noite (Nazareno de Brito)
04 - Mulata Assanhada (Ataulfo Alves) -- Na Cadência do Samba (Ataulfo Alves / Paulo Gesta)
05 - Meu Nome É Ninguém (Luis Reis / Haroldo Barbosa) -- Ninguém Sabe de Nós (Antônio
Maria / Moacyr Silva)
06 - Gamação (João Roberto Kelly) -- Cravo Vermelho (Pernambuco / Sergio Malta)
07 - O Samba Brasileiro (Claribalte Passos) -- Água Com Areia (Jacobina / Jair Amorim)
08 - Você Passou (Nazareno de Brito / Alcyr Pires Vermelho) -- Deixa a Nega Gingar (Luis
Cláudio)
