The coming of God’s Kingdom was a frequent
theme in Jesus’ preaching.
Jesus performed miracles to bring people to
faith and to enhance their lives.
The Kingdom of God will not be complete
until Jesus returns in glory at the end of time.

the power of God’s love active in the world.
Through Jesus’ miracles of healing and
forgiveness, he shared the life and love of
God with others.
John baptized people in the Jordan River as a
sign of their desire to repent and to change
their lives.

God’s Kingdom by giving them the
Beatitudes, teachings that describe the way
to live as his disciples.
Jesus was baptized at Jordan River by the
prophet John.
The word beatitude means “blessed” or
“happy.”

With the coming of Jesus Christ, God’s
Kingdom came into the world.
Jesus’ healing and forgiveness were special
signs that he was not only human but divine.
In Jesus the disciples could see and feel
God’s power and grace at work.

shared his mission in a special way and were
known as his Apostles.
Jesus was the Anointed One, who had come
to fulfill the words of the prophet Isaiah by
liberating people and setting them free from
sickness, hunger, fear, sin, and even death.

healing, whether from physical ills, from hurt,
or from the suffering caused by sin, we must
have faith.

are offered to everyone.

beginning his mission to bring salvation from
sin.
By all he said and did, Jesus showed people

of the entire Gospel.
The Kingdom of God is the power of God’s
love active in our lives and in our world.
The apostles were twelve men with whom
Jesus chose to share his mission in a special
way.

forgiveness, he shared the life and love of
God with others.
Jesus teaches us that when we seek his
healing, we must have faith.
In Jesus’ miracles the disciples witnessed
Jesus’ power to act in ways that went beyond
the ordinary laws of nature.

Jesus’ disciples were men and women who traveled
with Jesus, witnessed his healings and miracles, and
heard his preaching.
Jesus’ healing and forgiveness were special signs
that he was not only human but divine.
When it was time for Jesus to return to his Father, his
twelve apostles would lead and serve the whole
community of his disciples.

Jesus’ miracles showed that the Kingdom of
God had begun.
The Apostle Matthew, a tax collector, also
followed Jesus’ call.
The Sabbath is a day set apart to rest and
honor God.
James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were
also called to be Jesus’ Apostles.

While walking to Jesus across the water, as
Jesus had commanded him, the Apostle
Peter became fearful and began to sink but
was saved by Jesus.
Jesus’ mission was to usher in the Kingdom
of God. He offered freedom from sin and the
gift of God’s love to everyone.
13. Meaning of the Our Father
Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy
name.
Meaning- God is present to all who love him.
We have become God’s people and he is our
God. We look forward to being with him
forever.
14. Meaning of the Our Father
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth
as it is heaven.
We ask God to unite us with the work of
Christ, and to bring about his Kingdom. We
pray to God for the ability to do his will.
15. Meaning of the Our Father
Give is this day our daily bread, and forgive
us our trespasses as we forgive those who
trespass against us.
We ask God for everything we need for
ourselves, and for the world. We use his gifts
to work toward his plan of salvation, we ask
God to heal us, and we ask for forgiveness
from others who need it. We follow the
example of Christ and forgive those who have
hurt us.
16. Meaning of the Our Father
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us
from evil. Amen.
We pray that God will protect us from all that
could draw us away from his love. We ask
him to guide us to choose good in our lives,
and we ask him for the strength to follow his
law.
