1. Orthodontic Treatment Of
Impacted Lateral Incisor
This patient aged 12yrs girl,
presents with missing upper
right lateral incisor.
It would be a real challenge
to replace the missing tooth,
due to inadequate space for
prosthesis.

2. Pre-operative pictures
• The lack of space is
very evident.
• Options would be:
• a- Implants
• b- RPD
• c- FPD

3. Radiographic Evaluation
• The SLOB method is used
to find out the position of
the impacted tooth.
• The rotation of the tube 30
degrees to the right
makes the tooth crown
move to the right on the
IOPA.
• The lingual crown position
is evident in the Lateral
Cephalogram.

4. Ortho-surgical Procedure
• The impacted tooth is
surgically exposed and
a button is bonded to it.
• Steel ligature wire 011
tied to the button is
brought out through the
flap and tied to the
activated buccal
auxillary spring.

6. Conclusion
Orthodontic extrusion of impacted tooth is by far the
best solution for a missing tooth which is impacted. .
