Key benefits of the TV COMPASS approach:
Retention, we cannot stop people from using multiple services and sources of information as well as we cannot impose
our own version of something that is already widely used (take Apple’s Ping as a example) but we can build a system
where the user finds everything he needs from the sources he wants without leaving it. This is the main point of TV
COMPASS.
App approach, can open new possibilities for packaging and distributing contents. What is an app for a tv network? Or a
tv manufacturer? Is it the whole shows schedule or a single show? There is space for innovation in this Area.
Personal/shared transition allows the user on one side to always have personalized content synchronized with the show
and on the other hand decide how to use this content.
Meta tagging and archive revival/ tracking the viewer activity could generate better meta tagging for the aired shows
and could later be used to provide better ways of non linear consumption. At the same time TV COMPASS could be used
to revive a television archives (think breaking news connected with past news on the same topic, or movies connected
with previous shows containing the same actor)
Cross device UI/experience and cloud computing, TV COMPASS UI has been designed to fit both the tv screen, the
tablets and can be easily adapted to mobiles screen or web application solution. Paired with a cloud based solution for
storing info and shows it offers a truly unified experience.
Targeted ads, no explanation needed, or even better solutions (think pay a show with reviewing a new product…)
