Problems Faced By Doohickeys U Need And Their Human...
Introduction As a team, we have identified two additional problems that need to be addressed by
Doohickeys U Need and their Human Resource Manager. As a company, Doohickeys U Need,
needs to implement our recommendations to help protect the company from legal action. The
issues we would like to address in this report are as follows: 1. Layoffs and Dismissing Employees
2. Healthy Work Environment Below are detailed accounts of each problem, with supporting
evidence. The corresponding explanations of our solutions follow each account. As a team, we
developed these solutions that if implemented, should assist Doohickeys U Need in eradicating the
issues, and establish a more productive and safe workplace environment. Problem #1:... Show more

The HR Manager should design job descriptions with employee and supervisory input, listing job
responsibilities in descending order of time involved. These can be used in the hiring process as
well, in particular for the manufacturing jobs that have physical requirements such as the ability
to lift 25 lbs . (The Case) Since job descriptions cannot possibly list every single task an employee
may be expected to perform in their work day, other duties as assigned or another descriptor for
possible additional duties should be included. Once accurate job descriptions are in place,
performance reviews should be instituted at Doohickeys U Need. We recommend that these
take place quarterly, and that they be a collaborative effort between supervisors and employees.
Employees may be asked to evaluate their own performance against the job description in place
for their position, as well as future goals for improvement and areas which the employee feels
they most excel in. Both the supervisory and employee evaluation will be placed in the
employee personnel file. With accurate job descriptions and performance evaluations on file,
Human Resources will better be able to evaluate employee performance and decide if discipline
problems are part of an ongoing problem with an employee or if they were a one off or perhaps
even indicative of a failure in the system that points to a need for further training or resources.
Solution #2: Temporary/Seasonal

The Triage Assessment Form On Clients
Using the Triage Assessment Form on Clients
In life we are born with care givers taking care of our every need until one day we are ready to be
out in the world. We learn many things from our care givers and the environment we live in. These
lesions teach us how to take care of ourselves by finding food, water, shelter, and security. Many
people out in the world are going through their normal day only worrying about what they have to
do when they get home instead of worrying about what might happen, until one day the unthinkable
happens. Then what? Where do I get help? Whether it is a national disaster, thinking about suicide,
loss of job, loss of home, or death of a loved one, crisis happen every day. Crisis workers are out all
over the world helping people deal with crisis. The job of a crisis worker is to assist people that
are having a crisis, check severity of client s crisis, and assist with coping with crisis. A crisis has
different affects on how people cope with the stress of the situation. Some can deal with the crisis
and can do what is needed to get through the crisis and there are the ones that need assistance in
every step to recovery.
The crisis workers assesses people that are having problems with crisis by defining the problem,
ensuring safety, giving support, listening, examine alternatives, make plans, and obtaining
commitment from the client (James, 2008). The main goal for the crisis worker is to get the client

Appearance And Court Case Analysis
In the legal field, key to presenting competence to your client, opposing attorneys, and the court,
appearance stands. Reviewing persons in the legal field remains a head to toe scrutiny, since if
your appearance portrays competence, until there exists a mishandling of the case or the client,
their confidence in the firm remains solid. Upon studying the slides of the Professional Law Firm
slides, the evaluation follows:
Slide 1 appears to be a female junior attorney and a male junior attorney discussing a case in front
of a male senior attorney in the law firm. The female attorney ensemble consists of a gray
pinstriped suit jacket with a pale blue blouse. With her top button unfastened, her hair up and
formal, no distracting makeup or jewelry, her appearance seems a casual formal attire. The males
dressed formally, dark suits, both ties and hair view appropriate for their position. The two junior

Urbanization In The Progressive Era
The Progressive Era
The progressive era was a time period in America after reconstruction that took place from 1900 to
1920. The progressive era focused mainly on social and political reform, trying to fix America s
economy by working towards equal conditions for individuals, stopping political corruption and
increasing government intervention on social and economic issues. Progressivists were social
activists and political reformers working to improve conditions and the treatment of the American
people. The progressive era was successful in the fight to reform the United States by improving
industrialization, urbanization cities, and reforming America s social and gender classes.

Urbanization in the progressive era was a huge factor, with millions of immigrants flocking to
America for jobs. African americans flooded north also in search of jobs. Cities exploded
outward and upward, condensing people into building and houses. This, given the time was
highly unsanitary, with waste and filth in the streets, disease spread rapidly. Pollution caused
poor living conditions often crowded and unsafe. Often there was little clean water or paved
roads for transportation. Many people in the city s began to push for urban reformers. A
Progressive reformer named Jane Addams stepped up and opened one of the first settlement houses
in Chicago with Ellen Gates Starr, which greatly helped out local immigrants by producing
education and even social services. Many reformers supported laws that would improve living
conditions in the center city and fought to get rid of political corruption, which had been widely
spreading.
During the progressive era social, racial, and gender boundaries limited the country. The
progressive era kick started the modern American middle class. One of the progressivists and
socialists main goals was to reform the social society. They wanted to provide education and a safe
place for people to work, live and learn. A well known progressive governor named Robert La
Follette was the leader of a progressive movement called the Вґlaboratory of democracyВґ and by

Psych Analysis of the Movie Blow
The movie Blow is the story of George Jung, the man who established the American cocaine
market in the 1970s. The film starts with George as a child, showing what his childhood was like
and what his relationship with his parents was like. As it progresses George grows up and moves
to California. While there he become caught up in the marijuana scene and eventually starts selling
it for money. George expands his market and eventually becomes very wealthy. But, George
becomes too complacent and gets caught by the police and sentenced to prison. While there he
meets and makes friends with Diego Delgado and learns about the drug Cocaine. Together they find

Drug tolerance is when increasing amounts of the drug are needed to gain the original, desired
effect. This means that as a user continues to take a drug the desired effects lessen with the same
dosage used over and over again because they are slowly building up a tolerance to the drug and
its effects. But, if the user increases the dosage over time, they will be able to achieve that
desired effect that they are looking for and in turn become more and more tolerant to the drug.
George exemplifies this trait very well when he is in the delivery room and his wife is having
their child. Before rushing his wife to the hospital George is shown taking/accidently inhaling
cocaine as he packs for the trip. Once at the hospital and in the delivery room George is seen
standing in a corner watching his wife give birth. George is standing fairly rigid while his hand
is shaking uncontrollably and he has a grin of sorts on his face. This is him reacting to the drug
and at the moment a drug induced heart attack as well. When George recovers the doctor tells
him what had happened. George recollects by saying, The official toxicity limit for humans is
between one and one and half grams of cocaine depending on body weight. I was averaging five
grams a day, maybe more. I snorted ten grams in ten minutes once. I guess I had a high tolerance.
This line in the movie shows how much of a tolerance

The Law Of Tort Arise Essay

The incident that occurred between Sam, Henry and Brody, where Sam yells angrily at henry

Assault under Trespass to the person. For an assault to take place the defendant must commit an
act which deliberately and intentionally causes the claimant to reasonably apprehend direct and
immediate application or force .To identify whether the Defendants words or actions are a
reasonable expectation of immediate application or force, the act or words must give the
claimant good reason to fear them. Which Sam s shouting and threat is an act that would cause
the reasonable person to fear immediate application or force. Stephens v Myers (1830) .It is
reasonable to believe that Sam was going to commit an act against Henry and Brody. It doesn t
have to be proven that the claimant believed violence was going to occur, only that in the
circumstance it was a reasonable belief . For it to be considered as reasonable, the threat must be
able to be carried out there and then (immediately) which was established in the case of Thomas v

American History For People Learning English
From VOA Learning English, welcome to The Making of a Nation, our weekly program of
American history for people learning English. I m Steve Ember.
Today, we tell the story of how a British attack on Fort McHenry in the port of Baltimore led to The
Star Spangled Banner, America s national anthem.
In the summer of 1814, British forces attacked Washington, DC. They burned the Capitol building,
the White House and other public buildings. Then they withdrew to their ships in the Chesapeake
Bay.
British General Robert Ross and Admiral George Cockburn led the attack on Washington. Next they
planned to attack Baltimore. But the people of Baltimore expected the attack, and began to prepare
for it. Fifty thousand of them built defenses around the city.
The port of Baltimore was protected by Fort McHenry. The guns and cannon of the fort could
prevent British ships from reaching the city.
The British began with a land attack against Baltimore. General Ross, Admiral Cockburn and about
4,000 British soldiers landed at North Point, a finger of land reaching into the Chesapeake Bay.
From North Point, it was a march of about 22 kilometers to Baltimore. The British began marching
at about seven in the morning. General Ross and Admiral Cockburn stopped their men after an
hour. The two commanders and several of their officers rode to a nearby farmhouse and forced the
family living there to give them breakfast.
When the British officers finished eating, the farmer asked General Ross

This paper explores an advertisement found in March 2015 edition of Nylon Guys magazine
(page 13), for denim apparel falling under the Buffalo David Bitton (BDB) brand. In the
advertisement, Adrian Grenier, a celebrity best known for his lead role in the TV series Entourage,
endorses BDB s denim apparel, wearing their jeans and a denimjacket. BDB was founded in 1985
in Montreal and today it is an industry leader offering denim clothing in 18 countries and spanning
3000 locations throughout the world. In North America the brand can be found in many
department stores, including the Hudson s bay company, Bloomingdales and Macy s. The brand
appeals to fashion savvy men and women aged 18 34 who are innovators seeking effortless style as
well as substance. Given this orientation, Grenier is an ideal celebrity for an advertising
endorsement. The American comedy drama television series Entourage, which concluded in 2011
after eight seasons, chronicles Grenier as Vincent Chaseas he ventures into Los Angeles California
as an enviable celebrity along with some of his childhood friends. The role Grenier plays is
quite fitting as he exudes laid back confidence as a ladies man and the clear leader of his friend
group. Interestingly, not only is Grenier a celebrity for playing Vincent Chase, but the character
Vincent Chase within the show is a celebrity looking for movie roles. Grenier thereby owns two

Legal Opinion on the Benir v. Alba Case

On the present case being addressed to the International Court of Justice in dealing with the matter

parties at dispute is put forward. The problem however, lies in, the period at which the dispute took
place, for International law has not evolved at that time unlike in this day and age.
The Statement of fact is as follows:
The Island of Manca, small in size and blessed by temperature vegetation, has been discovered by
the Albanese State in 1560, when it was inhabited by a native tribe, the Mancans. The Albanese

2.After clarifying the former point to the court, the second and most crucial element to shed light
on is Territorial Acquisition. As demonstrated before in the Island of Palmas Case before, there
must be evidence as to a peaceful and continuous display of sovereignty on the territory; it should
also be a public and enduring practice. In the case of Benir, there is enough evidence to prove a
peaceful and continuous display of its sovereignty existed and still does, it established state
control, managed good relations with the natives (through intermarriage), as they coexisted
peacefully, and it was willing to protect the rights of other states in peace and in war, as well as
offer for the safeguarding of the rights of non nationals residing in it, however this is an infrequent
happening since the island is small in size. Thus, a peaceful atmosphere was provided for

Midterm Ritual Analysis By Emile Durkheim, Arnold Van...
Midterm Ritual Analysis In order to fulfill an individual s constitutional right to a trial overseen
by a jury of his or her peers, the process of juror selection is repeated every day in courtrooms
around the country. The process is not only vital to the American justice system as a whole; for the
prospective juror it is also a defining feature of their U.S. citizenship. Juror selection and the
accompanying voir dire, when examined for more than its procedural parts, reveals itself to be
more complex than a set of ordinary practices. The frameworks established by Emile Durkheim,
Arnold Van Gennep, and Victor Turner help to separate the ritual elements present in jury
duty from
aspects that are more representative of technological routine .
British structural functionalist Arnold Van Gennep was studying in circumstances very different
from the modern moment. Still, Van Gennep s analysis offers a useful framework for
understanding the stages of ritual. If one is willing to see jury duty as a rite of passage, a marker
of adulthood within American society, then one can begin to see preliminal, liminal, and
postliminal rites that make up its composition (Van Gennep 1960 p. 11). This division of rites can
be seen in the treatment of space within the courtroom. When a prospective juror begins jury
service, they partake in the pivoting that separates them from the profane world and temporarily
places them in the realm of the sacred (Van Gennep 1960 p. 12). They are identified

Greek Myth Of The Eighty-Eight Constellations
Out of the eighty eight officially recognized constellations, my favorite would be Gemini, The
Twins. This constellation happens to be my favorite because not only is it my Zodiac sign, but I
also find the Greek legend to be intriguing. The name Gemini means The Twins in Latin, the two
twins being Castor and Pollux. Also, as mentioned before, Gemini is one of the twelve Zodiac
signs. This sign was cataloged by the Greek Muggle Astronomer Ptolemy in the 2nd century.
Furthermore, Gemini is the 30th largest constellation and lies in the 2nd quadrant of the northern
hemisphere. The legend of the constellation Gemini is a Greek myth. Luckily, Gemini mythology is
pretty straightforward, while the origins of some other myths and legends are debated

Using Diffusion-Weighted Imaging to Detect the Early...
Using Diffusion Weighted Imaging to Detect the Early Stages of Acute Ischemic Stroke
Water compries approximately 70% of the body. Water molecules are in constant random motion
called diffusion. Diffusion is a physical property of molecules referring to their ability to move
randomly in relation to their thermal energy. Diffusion weighted imaging has made its greatest
impact on the imaging evaluation of ischemic stroke. It is a new and efficient method that detects
acute ischemic stroke much earlier than conventional T2 weighted MRI and computed tomography.

Early detection of CVA, at a stage when tissue damage is still reversible.
Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value, which is dependent on the material being imaged,
then can be determined to show the amount of water movement. Because molecules diffuse in
three dimensions, diffusion weighted images can be obtained along the X, Y, and Z planes. These
images then can be averaged to produce a more accurate measurement. In each of the three planes,
two strong dephasing and rephasing gradient pulses are added to a standard MRI pulse sequence at
varying degrees of strength. The bright areas show the volume of the brain that may be damaged.
Strong magnetic field gradients are used to separate fast and slow moving water molecules. The
strength and duration of these gradient pulses are much stronger than those used with standard
imaging sequences. The degree of diffusion weighting depends on the region of interest as well as
the time between the diffusion gradients.
Transverse magnetization is the vector component of the magnetic movement in the XY plane.
While the water molecules spin in the strong magnetic field gradients, a phase shift of their
transverse magnetization may occur. These phase shifts are comparable to the stationary spins.
They are spread out because of the random movement of the water molecules,

Installing Bamboo Flooring Essay
Usually there are no instructions in the box on installing bamboo flooring, but it is done just like
ordinary hardwood flooring. The proper floor preparation is essential before any installation. It is
important that all sub flooring be flat with a tolerance of no more than one half inch over a twelve
foot span. If the sub floor is made of wood, staples are better to use than flooringcleats. Staples
hold better and do not squeak when stepped upon. If you decide to use a glue down installation,
use the adhesive that is specified by the manufacturer. Be sure to avoid water based adhesives at all

The oil urethane wood finish supplies a highly durable coating that allows the beauty of the
wood to shine through while minimizing discoloration due to age. A lambs wool applicator is
required for even coating, and one gallon can cover over 600 square feet. The water based
urethane finish can be used only on previously sealed surfaces. The crystal clear coating shows
off the natural wood beauty, and it dries very fast. No mixing is required, and it is very economical
to use. One gallon will cover up to 1000 square feet.

Polyurethane hardwood floor finishes are blends of synthetic resins that protect the surface of
wood. They are moisture resistant and available in high gloss and semi gloss as well as satin and
matte. The finish is recommended for kitchens where splashing water may be a problem. The
polyurethane finish is the most common and it turns a lovely shade of amber as it ages. Do not
shake the polyurethane container because air bubbles will appear in the final finish. Instead, stir
the container to avoid any mishaps. The coating should be applied with a brush or roller going with
the grain to avoid marking the finish.

Emile Durkheim and Sigmund Freud are European sociologists who studied and wrote about the

Durkheim and Freud believed understanding the rules of society was vital for human survival.
Durkheim compares to Freud in some aspects to religion. Both Emile and Freud were of European

Durkheim uses the example of Australian Totemism as the elementary form , that is, the original
and most basic common denominator of religion.
He describes the totem emblem as a symbol both for a society and its sacredness. This is because,
he states in his fundamental hypothesis, god and society are one and the same, though not
necessarily on a conscious level. For Durkheim, religion is what brings people together by
reinforcing social relations and moral norms through a collective effervescence or group energy.
This energy, when felt by the individual, is not recognized as the result of communal energies, but
is attributed to the sacred.
Emile Durkheim was a taught by a teacher and to add was a sociologist. Durkheim singularly
developed sociology and is credited for expanding to academic discipline, social structures, social
relationships, and social institutions, in attempt to understand human nature. Later Durkheim took
these and applied them into religion. Durkheim focused on the importance of the concept of the
sacred and its relevance to the welfare of the entire community.
Freud examined much of psychoanalysis and trends that were affected by it. Freud disagreed with
religion to full extent. He believed that there needed to different tasks accomplished by the
individuals that made up the society but in difference will lead to capitalism and the destruction of
the social structure. It is certainly true that society and religion are

Google And Coca Cola Code Of Conduct

Assignment 1.7 Every company has a code of conduct that defines not only the legal minimum

company s products and services. In a highly competitive environment, it is especially important for
the name brands to maintain their reputation by strictly following the procedures that would

Coca Cola is the most recognized brand in the beverage industry. It makes money by selling its
drinks in over two hundred countries. It also controls its own bottling and distribution, which
helps the company to be more efficient with selling the products. From its code of conduct, it is
evident that Coca Cola values integrity, accountability, and honesty. Coca Cola wants its
employees to follow the laws and strive to make no mistake in financial reports. This is especially
important because when a scandal hits an organization, it affects people far beyond those who
committed the bad acts (Gunsalus, 46). The Code specifies that the employees are expected to use
the company s assets properly and unauthorized disclosure of nonpublic information is prohibited,
which attributes to accountability. Last but not least, Coca Cola makes it an obligation for its
employees to observe any violation of the Code or the laws and honestly raise the issues before
they complicate. These are also the values that I think are the most important. I

Both Willy Loman and Troy Maxson have their own belief of what defines the American dream,
but whenever they attempt to instill the same beliefs in their sons, they introduce and repeatedly
worsen the problems of the already strained relationships between family members. The parents
mean well and are attempting to positively impact the lives of their sons, yet each s idea produces
similar conflicts of each relationship that instead elicit more challenges in shaping the lives of their
children to their own liking.
From the beginning pages of Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller, the reader is easily able to
understand the personal view from a salesman, Willy Loman, that the most important methods of
achieving American dream lie in one s successes in the economic life and social life. In the
opening discussion that Willy had with his wife, Linda, he talks about his son, Biff, and how Willy
does not believe that Biff was trying to achieve the American dream. Criticizing Biff, he exclaims to

Essay On The Pantheon
The Pantheon introduction This essay will show you the development of architecture over the
years, and the influence it has had on modern day design. The influence this design has had from
2000 years ago, on our modern day designs is shown in the follow extracts. We will also look at
how the design and architecture of the pantheon had an influence on the buildings that were built at
a later stage through time. The Pantheon is a circular building with a portico of large granite
columns after 2000 years the dome of the pantheon is still the world s largest unreinforced concrete
dome which caused that many builders and architects studied the dome to reconstruct and build
buildings with the same techniques. The pantheon is one of the world s best preserved ancient

Cassius Dio a Roman senator who wrote in Greek said it could be possible that the name
Pantheon is not actually the buildings real name but merely a nickname. He also speculated that
the name derives from all the god status that was located around the building or the resemblance
of the dome to the heavens. Interior The Pantheon could be the first building where the interior
outshined the exterior. The entrance, and has two bronze doors. The doors measure at 12m x
7.5 m. The dome has a diameter of 43.2m and is an exact perfect sphere. There is a skylight on
the top of the dome that opens to the sky and is 8.8 m in diameter. The walls are 6m thick. Later
History The building went through many historic events. The Pantheon survived really well, In
earlier years its existence as a church ( 608 BC) gave itself protection from being destroyed or
damaged by wars and human tragedies as it was considered a sacred building. The strong influence
of Christianity in these years, gave this building its human protection

Design New Services For Jamuna Bank
Service design and development is very important for a bank like Jamuna that is our concern now.
From our observation we find out that they are far behind then other banking service providers. So
in this section they have to come up with new plans and findings.
If we are thinking about design new services for Jamuna Bank then we have to find out those
sectors where we are going to implement those programs. From our findings we come to know
about they are much behind in online banking, customer service, ATM system and infrastructure. So
in this sectors we need to work more to satisfy our second God, our customers.
According to Mr. Rakib Ur Rashid, First Executive officer of Jamuna Bank (Jurain SME Branch),
service development and design functions handle by the Research and development (R D)
department; located in head office. Officials of R D department sit with the directors and president
to design new service and schemes for the clients. Therefore the procedures are credential and not
shareable towards the externals. So in the upcoming part I am going write my suggestions about
service development and design
Basically product design and development sector divided in two parts. They are planning section
and implementation. In planning section we got new service strategy development then come idea

Reggae Music Research Paper
The History of a Legacy
What is reggae music? Reggae music is a type of music that consists of different genres of music
such as blues and calypso. Reggae music also consists of different rhythms such as different
accents on different beats of the music. Say for instance you are playing in a four/four time
measure. The natural beat for a drummer playing in this type of particular time measure would be
for him to hit his high hat on all 4 beats, his bass foot pedal on one and three, and his snare on two
and four. When playing reggae this particular pattern differs for the drummer. When playing reggae
the drummer has more room to play around with the beat. In this particular setting the drummer
would continue to hit the hi hat on all four beats of the four measure. He would then start the
measure of music by hitting his bass foot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reggae music consists of a drum set, bongos, bass guitar, electric guitar, and so much more. A
basic drum set for reggae music consists of a snare drum, a hi hat, a floor tom, a middle tom,
and a high tom, a kick bass, a ride cymbal and a crash symbol. All of these pieces if equipment
are used to keep the rhythm throughout the performance of music. Bongos are a lot like the
toms of a drum set, but differ as far as the material that is used to create the distinct sound of
these two instruments. Toms of a drum set consist of man made material, whereas bongos
consist of drumheads that are made from an animals skin. Bongos also are an advocate to the
rhythmic part of reggae music. The bass guitar is the heartbeat of reggae music. The bass guitar
is a four string or more instrument that is played by hand by plcking it or consciously striking it.
An electric guitar is the exact same thing as a bass guitar, with the exception of the pitch. A bass
guitar has a deep bellowing kind of a pitch, whereas an electric guitar has more of a high pitch to

Why Is Siddhartha Important
Sometimes, in life we lose everything that we deem as important so that we are able to find out
what truly is. The two works that I ll be examining correspond to this statement. By examining the
works Siddhartha by Herman Hesse and The History by Herodotus, we can see that being happy in
life doesn t always come easily and there are some bumps along the road to get there. Siddhartha
shows us that in order to achieve the happiness that we want, we have to look at the life we are
living at the moment and decide if it is what we really want. And The History also shows us that
in order to achieve the happiness we want in life, we have to reflect on the life we ve lived and
make a change. Siddhartha and Croesus teach us that the obstacles we face are the stepping stones...

In the dream, Siddhartha approaches the birds cage in his dream and realizes that the once
lively bird can no longer sing and is actually lying in the bottom of it dead (Hesse, 73). In this
single moment, Siddhartha can see that his whole life had no meaning whatsoever. The thing
about Kamala s bird was that in a way it represented life, in which Siddhartha knew his was
essentially taking a wrong turn. This whole time he thought that he had been truly living and
following the path he was supposed to, he actually was not. What Siddhartha needed to do was
reevaluate his existence and figure out which path he was going to take to correct all of the
wrongs that he has made. Once he knew that he had completely changed into a person that he did
not like, He decided that leaving town was the best move for him. This was the first step that
Siddhartha took that made sense. The fact that he knew he had to change his life for the better is
the best thing that could have happened to Siddhartha. Otherwise, he would have been stuck in that
miserable life that he thought he was happy

How Did Jesse Jackson Affect Society
Black History Project (Jesse Jackson) Script Intro Jesse Jackson. He is considered the first
viable African American candidate for president and became one of the most influential African
Americans of the late 20th century. He helped make the U.S. a more democratic society by
working for better working conditions for African Americans through an organization he
founded, and moreover, by running for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. Background
Jesse Louis Burns was born October 8, 1941, in Greensville, South Carolina. When he was 2, his
mother married Charles Jackson, resulting in a change of his last name. He spent a year at the
University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign before transferring to North Carolina Agricultural and
Technical College in Greensboro, where he was quarterback and student body president. Jackson
graduated with a sociology degree in 1964, and married Jacqueline Brown, a fellow student. He is

RenГ©e Stout: Tales of the Conjure Woman is one of the most unique exhibits you will ever come
across in life. Conjure is to maneuver the paranormal forces, using roots, charms and nonliving and
handmade articles. RenГ©e Stout was a true conjure woman because she discovered two alter egos
within herself, Fatima Mayfield and Madam Ching. She has the enchanted characteristic to observe
the world through two sets of eyes, the spiritual and the physical realm. RenГ©e Stout s art
embodies contemporary hoodoo with a combination of African folkloric practices. Through her
artwork, Stout conserves the religious heritage of Africans by denouncing colonialism and
imperialism, aligning herself with Pan Africanism, and reimaging African religious traditions
through hoodoo. By observing Stout s exhibit, Tales of the Conjure Woman, one can see she was
heavily influenced by the practice of hoodoo. According to Merriam Webster, hoodoo is a body of
practices of sympathetic magic traditional especially among blacks in the southern United States
(Merriam Webster). One of the main concepts she focused on her exhibit was colonialism.
Colonialism is the control or governing influence of a nation over a dependent country, territory, or
people. Much has happened in terms of the development of African American religion and African
American culture. For example, in American slavery, Africans were snatched from their own belief
systems. When they were brought to America, they were taught that

This means that the null hypothesis about normality can be rejected and daily stock prices are
not normally distributed. Histogram 1 II.Stationarity of Microsoft daily stock prices and daily
returns As the stationarity of stock prices can strongly influences its behavior and properties and
the use of non stationary data can lead to spurious regressions, thus test of stationarity is more
than necessary in research of daily stock prices. I applied Augmented Dickey Fuller test here to
check for unit root. The results for the daily stock prices appear as in Table 1. Table 1 The value
of the test statistic and the relevant critical values given the type of test equation and sample
size, are given in the first panel of the output above. Clearly, the test statistic is 1.261047 that is
not more negative than the critical value, so the null hypothesis of a unit root in the stock price
series cannot be rejected. Since one of the independent variables in this regression is non
stationary, it is not appropriate to examine the coefficient standard errors or their t ratios in the
test regression. Now repeat all of the test for first difference of the daily stock prices. The output
appear as in the following Table 2. Table 2 The test statistic is 34.10940 which is more negative
than the critical value and hence

The Effects Of Sensory Information On The Brain Essay
Although there are discrete cortexes in the brain, each with a specific purpose for integration,
which have complex functions of their own, each part of the brain interacts with one another in
complex ways that contribute to the integration of sensory information to the reality we are all so
familiar with (Eagleman, 2015a). As explained by Doctor David Eagleman (2015a), the brain is
like a city. There is no true single place that reality could be said to exist in the mind. Just as in a
city, there are many different parts that make up the whole (Eagleman, 2015a). Each and every
part of a city specializes in getting one thing done, like each cortex. However, rather than the
success of the brain or city existing in the individual parts, reality is achieved by integrating each
and every part into a single entity (Eagleman, 2015a).This means that the brain also integrates
sensory information by creating interactions between the separate cortexes of the brain. An
example of the way that sensory information communication is essential, is found in the interaction
between smell and taste (Herz, 2007). Most of what we perceive as taste is actually a result of
activation of the olfactory cortex, the area of the brain dedicated to the senseof smell (Herz, 2007).
The interaction of these two senses leads to an enhancement of the sensation of taste, altering our
creation and perceptionof reality surrounding the way we perceive taste (Herz, 2007). Essential to
the communication

Osteoporosis And Its Effects On The Body
According to Mayo Clinic, Osteoporosis causes bones to become weak and brittle so brittle that
a fall or even mild stresses like bending over or coughing can cause a fracture. Osteoporosis
related fractures most commonly occur in the hip, wrist or spine (2014). The issue of osteoporosis
is very important due to the fact that it happens to a lot of people all over the world. Although the
disorder of the boneoccurs in older people, I believe that everyone should learn about osteoporosis
before it happens to them. Osteoporosis is very common, yet serious and people should have the

Bone density then is maintained for about 10 years. After age 35, both men and women will
normally lose 0.3% 0.5% of their bone density per year as part of the aging process. Bones are
continually growing until one s early adulthood and the bone mass is crucial in the skeletal
structure. The bone mass determines how strong or weak one s skeletal system is, but it is
influenced by the genetic factors as well as the modifications of environmental factors and
medications. Bone mass can be measured by receiving different kinds of bone density tests and
this can help guide your future to protect your bones in many ways. By having a bone density

chances of breaking a bone, or see if your bones are starting to get stronger or weaker. The
benefits of having a bone density test is mainly for future references. According to the National

Rinpoche was wearing a rosary that had belonged to the 13th Dalai Lama, and the little boy of
the house recognized it and demanded that it be given to him. Rinpoche promised to give it to
him if he could guess who he was, and the boy replied that he was Sera aga , which means a lama

knew the name of the real servant. This was followed by a series of tests that included the

In an aquatic ecosystem most of the nutrients are well balanced with the biodiversity of organisms.
[FIND DISCOURSE MARKER TO ADD TWO SENTENCES] These aquatic ecosystems become
disrupted when eutrophication (the presence of excessive and unwanted nutrients), occurs. Nutrients
from agricultural, industrial and urban areas enter a drainage basin (streams, rivers, lakes, dams and
ultimately, the ocean) by means of run off and groundwater. Certain organisms; for example,
phytoplankton and algae, benefit from these nutrients which causes them to reproduce faster and
amalgamate, forming a dense layer on the surface of the water. As a result, sunlight and oxygen
cannot enter the water, causing extremely high carbon dioxide concentration levels and very low
oxygen concentration levels. Due to a lack of oxygen, aerobic organisms experience hypoxia or
suffocation and die.
According to Setmire et al., (2000) there is a misconception when it comes to the toxicity of a body
of water and eutrophication. The increase of toxins and eutrophication in water affects the quality

Natural eutrophication occurs when a body of water builds up nutrients over a long period of time,
enabling it to sustain and support multiple living organisms. Algae then starts to form, damaging
the ecosystem and decreasing the quality of the water. Cultural eutrophication; on the other hand, is
caused purely by external human interference; such as, domestic and industrial waste being
dumped into rivers of lakes and uprooting trees making the soil dry and loose, causing an excess of
nutrients being run off into drainage

Sign Coverage ($8,000/Sign) The sign outside of a business is often the first thing that a
customer will see, and is a great way to attract new clients. For this reason, it is imperative to
have a functioning, and welcoming sign outside of the PYB locations. Because the current 10
x10 sign out front is not connected to the building, an additional rider to the business owner s
policy must be added to cover all unattached signs. PYB has three signs valued at $8,000 equal
$24,000 of worth. Solution: Our recommendation is adding sign coverage in a Signs, Lamps, and

The Pros And Cons Of Racial Inequality In America
For decades America has been considered as a land of equal opportunity. Millions of people
throughout the world decide to come over, get a job and make their American dream come true,
but is it really the land of opportunity? America is a country that has its positive and negative
sides, but the negative sides are very problematic because they do not let most people achieve
their American dream. America is not a land of equal opportunity because of income inequality
between the rich and the poor and a growing gap between them, because of racial inequality and
the Affirmative . A country s economy is the one of the most important criteria for its nation to live
in prosperity. America s economy has improved since the 2010 crisis but is still... Show more

People, who say that America is still the land of equal opportunity, simply disregard the problems
the country is facing. Racial and economic inequalities are the two biggest problems America is
facing and these two problems keep America unequal. In order for the country of equal opportunity
to solve these problems, government should intervene more with the regulations and laws like
Affirmative Action, which do not some people achieve their American

Assassin
Anna Myers
Summary
Anna Myers s historical fiction novel Assassin gives a detailed and thought provoking account of
President Lincoln s assassination. Alternating narration depicts events through the eyes of both
John Wilkes Booth and young girl Arabella Getchel. Bella is a seamstress in the White House
during Lincoln s presidency who pursues her dream of performing in the theater by working late
hours at Ford s Theater in exchange for show tickets. Here Bella meets Wilkes, a famous and
handsome actor. Entirely loyal to the South and Confederacy, Wilkes s charming smile and smooth
voice are famously captivating. He is, however, inclined to show aggression toward those who

Many times prophecies were made and fulfilled, leading the readers to believe that supernatural
forces God or otherwise were present in the unfolding of the story. When Booth was born, his
mother believed the flames in the fire spelled COUNTRY, and so she believed that he would
have a great effect on America. Also, as a teenager, Booth had a fortune teller predict his future.
When she looked at the may crossed lines on his palms she became worried and predicted he
would die young but famous. Both of these prophecies were fulfilled in Booth s life. At the
White House, just days before his assassination, Lincoln had a dream. In the dream, he had died
been shot and killed and was lying in a large curtained coffin in the Green Room. This too came
true. In response to these occurrences, I cannot really judge whether they are true or false. I
generally consider supernatural events to be unlikely, though I would not deem them impossible.
Considering the specific events in the story however, I believe the word in the flames and the
supposed fortune actually specifically influenced Booth s life, instead of being signs of divine
future seeing. Also, I believe that Lincoln s dream, aside from being somewhat concerning, was
just a coincidence and was probably caused by the rational long term fear the entire Lincoln family
had of being

Interview With An Individual Who Works For Malmbergets Aif
For this assignment, I decided to conduct my interview with an individual who works for
Malmbergets AIF (AIF = public sports club) in Malmberget, situated in the far north of Sweden.
Established in 1904, the veteran club is and have been active within numerous sports, from soccer
to cross country skiing, and throughout the club s long history, one will find stories of great
success, such as when its Olympic handball team played in the highest division in the mid
seventies, or one of the clubs cross country skiers, Lina Andersson, won Olympic gold in 2006.
Although, today, MAIF s efforts are mainly focused on youth programs in various sports, with the
ice hockey team being the sole remaining adult team. Nonetheless, there are still some... Show more

Given that MAIF operates within a number of different sports, Johansson describes that the best
part is that his job changes with the seasons. During winter, he ll get to focus on sports like ice
hockey, and during summer, he can focus on their youth programs for soccer. Much like several
other positions within the sport industry at least in terms of working for a sports club , what the
job entails changes between seasons, but the difference for Johansson is that there s never an off
season, which Johansson admits is challenging at times, but that he wouldn t have it any other way,
as he claims it keeps [him] running , despite his age.
Likewise, when asked whether or not the job truly is as rewarding, easy going, and appealing as
he makes it seem, he paused, before giving a lengthy explanation regarding the effort required to
do the job, saying that it s going to require hard work at times , before adding that that is the
reality for most jobs , but that he truly believes that his interest in what he does is what motivates
him to push through it. He admits to have been lucky for officially entering the industry at a later
stage in his career, and for a position higher up the chain, because he s not sure his passion for
sports would have survived otherwise , which I think might be the harsh truth a lot of individuals
interested in a career within the industry might not get to hear. He quickly

Automated Patch Deployment
Automated Patch Deployment Automated Patch Deployment The advantages of automated patch
deployment are several. This study offers an insight in some of the most noticeable benefits of the
implementation of patches especially those relating to the enhancement of production levels in a
production setting. An organization stands the chance of increasing its productivity levels at the
individual level once automated patches are deployed. As a result, the entire productivity of the
organization increases (King, 2007). Another advantage of automated patch deployment is the
enhancement of the security levels within an organization. The risk of losing confidential
information concerning clients, employees and other resources of an organization are on the rise
across the globe. Such critical information could land in the wrong hands making it detrimental to
an organization. Through the patches, it is possible to fix security problems within an organization
s network. Attackers use these vulnerabilities for malicious purposes. An effective, automated patch
deployment will be able to minimize the risk of experiencing security breaches in a timely manner
(Godbout, 2007). Compliance with different regulations can be met through automated patch
deployment. These regulations are designed to enhance the public good, as well as, uphold best
practices regarding IT infrastructure. The enhanced productivity and security that come with the
automated patch deployment comes at a cost. This

Delacroix Liberty Leading The People Analysis
Scholars all agree that EugГЁne Delacroix s Liberty Leading the People (1830) represents a
commemoration of the July Revolution with an allegorical figure of Liberty guiding French
citizens over a barricade. While nobody offers an alternate reading of the subject, the methods used
vary between scholars. The hybridization of formalism, biography, and social history can be seen
as the standard approach to this work. While this approach on its own has lead to successful
readings of the painting, some of the best analyses come from scholars who included other
methodologies in their approach to the painting. The inclusion of feminism and Marxist in
readings of this work allow scholars to address the obviously present themes of gender and class.
However, some additional approaches are more successful than others, as scholars who attempt
to implement psychoanalysis are less successful due to their evidence being based in the artist s
own writings. While there have been a wide range of approaches used in the study of Delacroix s
Liberty Leading the People, there is a severe lack of a postcolonial lens. Considering how
prevalent this methodology is in studies of other works by Delacroix, a postcolonial analysis
combined with the standard hybrid approach used in all other studies would be a worthwhile
addition of the current collection of scholarship.
It is important to note that iconography and semiotics also play a major role in the scholarship on
Liberty Leading the People. Because

“Our Health Care System Has Significant Safety And Quality
Our health care system has significant safety and quality problems, Linda Cronenwett said. To fix
that, we need to redesign what and how we teach the next generation of nurses and other healthcare
professionals so that they understand what goes into ensuring good and safe care, and can identify
and bridge the gaps between what is and what should be (Hirst, O Segedy, 2011). Robert Wood
Johnson Foundation funds national study to educate nursing students on patient safety and
healthcare quality. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation awarded the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill School of Nursing a $590,000 grant to evaluate and enhance nursing school
curriculum on the topics of quality and safety. The project ambition was to... Show more content on

Phase III, worked to develop faculty expertise necessary for nursing schools to teach the
competencies. The focus was on instilling the competencies in textbooks, licensing, accreditation
and certification standards; and promotion which continued innovation in teaching the
competencies. The six competencies are patient centered care, teamwork and collaboration,
evidence based practice, quality improvement, safety, and informatics. In the first two phases of
QSEN, the goal was to identify what s out there now, what s missing, and what s wrong. The
conclusion reached was that our nursing schools need to equip the next generation of nurses to help
drive change in health care. Therefore in the final phase of the project, there was innovation in the
way students were taught, tested, and certified (Hirst, O Segedy, 2011). Many patients lack access
to care due to the severe nursing shortage, and the lack of safety and quality care. The next
generation of nurses, can make important contributions on all fronts, if they take on the challenge.
The QSEN project promotes continued innovation in the development and evaluation of methods to
promote and assess student learning of the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of the six competencies

Personal Reflection Of Psychology
I enjoyed taking this class and learning about the foundations of psychology. This class was
interesting to me because it explained the reasons for many events in my life. Unlike a portion of
other topics I study, I could relate to the information within psychology. I tend to find topics much
more interesting when they apply to me and I can relate to them. Psychologyexplains the emotions,
feelings, thought processes, and development I experience. The most interesting topics to me were
human development, health psychology, psychological disorders, learning, and memory. Human
development discusses the changes a person experiences as they grow throughout life. This topic
covers the physical, cognitive, and socioemotional changes throughout our lifetime and how they
affect who we are and who we become. Human development includes both growth and decline in
areas of a person as they continue through life. This topic interested me because it showed me
how our learning capacities evolve as we grow. Before learning this chapter, I thought that people
generally became more intelligent as they are exposed to more information. I was not aware of
the concept of cognitive development and Piaget s stages. Object permanence and conservation
were interesting to me because I could see how our thinking changes. As a 17 year old, I can
understand that objects exist even when they cannot be seen and that two equal amounts of water
are always the same no matter what shape or size of glass they

Marx s Theory Of Total Social Capital
Marx begins his analysis of capital accumulation and growth with the demarcation of capital into its
two constituent parts: constant and variable capital. The former pertains to the means of production
utilized (as determined by its mass), whereas the latter term applies to human labour power inputs
of production (and is accounted for by the aggregation of wages). The organic composition of
capitalwas then conceived to establish the ratio of constant (value composition) to variable
(technical composition) capitalincorporated in production. In order to extrapolate the allocation
capital of a single firm across the entire economy, Marx devised the concept of total social
capital. This term refers to the average arrangements of capital in each sector of the economy,
averaged across all spheres of the economy. Capital inherently generates an annual surplus, which
in turn influences the level of variable capital employed. The surplus produced by capital is
divided into revenue for the capitalist or reinvested in production. This reallocation of surplus
ultimately determines the degree of accumulation (if more capital is reinvested, and less kept as
revenue for consumption, then accumulation will be higher). It also has an effect on wages and
the demand and supply of labour (i.e. components of variable capital). Supply increases
absolutely, as does the demand for labour (if the variable capital needed for the operation of
constant capital is unaffected) and wages will grow if

Behavior Management Strategies
1.Different schools of thought provide perspectives on behavior and behavior management.
Chapter 1, Basic Concepts of Behavior and Behavior Management, presented an overview of
behavioral, psychological, and sociological approaches to behavior management. Compare two of
these approaches and explain how their perspectives are similar or different with regard to behavior,
behavior problems, discipline, attitude, responsibility, and consequences.
This candidate believes that the behavioral approach and the psychoanalytic approaches have a few
similarities and differences, when it comes to behavior management. Why do people behave the
way they do is a statement that this candidate has pondered upon, prior to this class. (Zirpoli,2008).

3. One of a teacher s responsibilities is to create a safe and orderly environment for his/her
students. Ensuring this type of environment is likely to require disciplining students from time to
time. Referring to Chapter 2, Legal Considerations for Schools, describe two or more legal
mandates with regard to disciplining students. Then explain how these mandates are similar to or
different from legal considerations for students with disabilities.
According to Zirpoli, The teaching staff and administrators have the authority to not only to teach,
but to also guide and discipline their student (2008). This candidate believes that it is the teacher s
job to set standards and expectations for students, thus providing a good learning environment. This
candidate understands that there are no perfect classrooms and that this candidate would have work
with various personalities. This candidate also believes that teachers must be prepared to provide
fair and reasonable discipline to their students. Teachers have a duty to see that school order is
maintained by requiring students to obey reasonable rules and commands, respect the rights of
others, and behave in an appropriate manner. (Zirpoli, 2008). This mandate states that there are
responsibilities of the students. This candidate believes that it is important for

Dr. Manette Adversity
The novel A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens involves many instances of adversity that the
characters are to face. The different characters in this novel each react differently to adversity
within their lives. With this, Dickens characters react in ways that show more into their
personalities and lives, either showing the best or worse side of themselves when faced with such
turmoil and difficulty. Dr. Manette s behaviors exemplify the idea that individuals show the best
side of themselves when faced with adversity since he is able to overcome the adversity that he

Introduction As a team, we have identified two additional problems that need to be addressed by Doohickeys U Need and their Human Resource Manager. As a company, Doohickeys U Need, needs to implement our recommendations to help protect the company from legal action. The issues we would like to address in this report are as follows: 1. Layoffs and Dismissing Employees 2. Healthy Work Environment Below are detailed accounts of each problem, with supporting evidence. The corresponding explanations of our solutions follow each account. As a team, we developed these solutions that if implemented, should assist Doohickeys U Need in eradicating the issues, and establish a more productive and safe workplace environment. Problem #1:... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The HR Manager should design job descriptions with employee and supervisory input, listing job responsibilities in descending order of time involved. These can be used in the hiring process as well, in particular for the manufacturing jobs that have physical requirements such as the ability to lift 25 lbs . (The Case) Since job descriptions cannot possibly list every single task an employee may be expected to perform in their work day, other duties as assigned or another descriptor for possible additional duties should be included. Once accurate job descriptions are in place, performance reviews should be instituted at Doohickeys U Need. We recommend that these take place quarterly, and that they be a collaborative effort between supervisors and employees. Employees may be asked to evaluate their own performance against the job description in place for their position, as well as future goals for improvement and areas which the employee feels they most excel in. Both the supervisory and employee evaluation will be placed in the employee personnel file. With accurate job descriptions and performance evaluations on file, Human Resources will better be able to evaluate employee performance and decide if discipline problems are part of an ongoing problem with an employee or if they were a one off or perhaps even indicative of a failure in the system that points to a need for further training or resources. The Triage Assessment Form On Clients Using the Triage Assessment Form on Clients In life we are born with care givers taking care of our every need until one day we are ready to be out in the world. We learn many things from our care givers and the environment we live in. These lesions teach us how to take care of ourselves by finding food, water, shelter, and security. Reviewing persons in the legal field remains a head to toe scrutiny, since if your appearance portrays competence, until there exists a mishandling of the case or the client, their confidence in the firm remains solid. Upon studying the slides of the Professional Law Firm slides, the evaluation follows: Slide 1 appears to be a female junior attorney and a male junior attorney discussing a case in front of a male senior attorney in the law firm. The female attorney ensemble consists of a gray pinstriped suit jacket with a pale blue blouse. Urbanization in the progressive era was a huge factor, with millions of immigrants flocking to America for jobs. African americans flooded north also in search of jobs. Cities exploded outward and upward, condensing people into building and houses. This, given the time was highly unsanitary, with waste and filth in the streets, disease spread rapidly. Pollution caused poor living conditions often crowded and unsafe. Often there was little clean water or paved roads for transportation. Many people in the city s began to push for urban reformers. A Progressive reformer named Jane Addams stepped up and opened one of the first settlement houses in Chicago with Ellen Gates Starr, which greatly helped out local immigrants by producing education and even social services. Many reformers supported laws that would improve living conditions in the center city and fought to get rid of political corruption, which had been widely spreading. During the progressive era social, racial, and gender boundaries limited the country. The progressive era kick started the modern American middle class. One of the progressivists and socialists main goals was to reform the social society. They wanted to provide education and a safe place for people to work, live and learn. While there he become caught up in the marijuana scene and eventually starts selling it for money. George expands his market and eventually becomes very wealthy. Drug tolerance is when increasing amounts of the drug are needed to gain the original, desired effect. This means that as a user continues to take a drug the desired effects lessen with the same dosage used over and over again because they are slowly building up a tolerance to the drug and its effects. But, if the user increases the dosage over time, they will be able to achieve that desired effect that they are looking for and in turn become more and more tolerant to the drug. George exemplifies this trait very well when he is in the delivery room and his wife is having their child. Before rushing his wife to the hospital George is shown taking/accidently inhaling cocaine as he packs for the trip. Once at the hospital and in the delivery room George is seen standing in a corner watching his wife give birth. George is standing fairly rigid while his hand is shaking uncontrollably and he has a grin of sorts on his face. This is him reacting to the drug and at the moment a drug induced heart attack as well. When George recovers the doctor tells him what had happened. George recollects by saying, The official toxicity limit for humans is between one and one and half grams of cocaine depending on body weight. I was averaging five grams a day, maybe more. I snorted ten grams in ten minutes once. I guess I had a high tolerance. This line in the movie shows how much of a tolerance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It doesn t have to be proven that the claimant believed violence was going to occur, only that in the circumstance it was a reasonable belief . • 11. American History For People Learning English From VOA Learning English, welcome to The Making of a Nation, our weekly program of American history for people learning English. I m Steve Ember. Today, we tell the story of how a British attack on Fort McHenry in the port of Baltimore led to The Star Spangled Banner, America s national anthem. In the summer of 1814, British forces attacked Washington, DC. They burned the Capitol building, the White House and other public buildings. Then they withdrew to their ships in the Chesapeake Bay. British General Robert Ross and Admiral George Cockburn led the attack on Washington. Next they planned to attack Baltimore. But the people of Baltimore expected the attack, and began to prepare for it. Fifty thousand of them built defenses around the city. The port of Baltimore was protected by Fort McHenry. The guns and cannon of the fort could prevent British ships from reaching the city. The British began with a land attack against Baltimore. General Ross, Admiral Cockburn and about 4,000 British soldiers landed at North Point, a finger of land reaching into the Chesapeake Bay. From North Point, it was a march of about 22 kilometers to Baltimore. The British began marching at about seven in the morning. General Ross and Admiral Cockburn stopped their men after an hour. The two commanders and several of their officers rode to a nearby farmhouse and forced the family living there to give them breakfast. This paper explores an advertisement found in March 2015 edition of Nylon Guys magazine (page 13), for denim apparel falling under the Buffalo David Bitton (BDB) brand. In the advertisement, Adrian Grenier, a celebrity best known for his lead role in the TV series Entourage, endorses BDB s denim apparel, wearing their jeans and a denimjacket. BDB was founded in 1985 in Montreal and today it is an industry leader offering denim clothing in 18 countries and spanning 3000 locations throughout the world. In North America the brand can be found in many department stores, including the Hudson s bay company, Bloomingdales and Macy s. The brand appeals to fashion savvy men and women aged 18 34 who are innovators seeking effortless style as well as substance. Given this orientation, Grenier is an ideal celebrity for an advertising endorsement. The American comedy drama television series Entourage, which concluded in 2011 after eight seasons, chronicles Grenier as Vincent Chaseas he ventures into Los Angeles California as an enviable celebrity along with some of his childhood friends. The role Grenier plays is quite fitting as he exudes laid back confidence as a ladies man and the clear leader of his friend group. The problem however, lies in, the period at which the dispute took place, for International law has not evolved at that time unlike in this day and age. The Statement of fact is as follows: The Island of Manca, small in size and blessed by temperature vegetation, has been discovered by the Albanese State in 1560, when it was inhabited by a native tribe, the Mancans. In the case of Benir, there is enough evidence to prove a peaceful and continuous display of its sovereignty existed and still does, it established state control, managed good relations with the natives (through intermarriage), as they coexisted peacefully, and it was willing to protect the rights of other states in peace and in war, as well as offer for the safeguarding of the rights of non nationals residing in it, however this is an infrequent happening since the island is small in size. • 14. Midterm Ritual Analysis By Emile Durkheim, Arnold Van... Midterm Ritual Analysis In order to fulfill an individual s constitutional right to a trial overseen by a jury of his or her peers, the process of juror selection is repeated every day in courtrooms around the country. The process is not only vital to the American justice system as a whole; for the prospective juror it is also a defining feature of their U.S. citizenship. Juror selection and the accompanying voir dire, when examined for more than its procedural parts, reveals itself to be more complex than a set of ordinary practices. The frameworks established by Emile Durkheim, Arnold Van Gennep, and Victor Turner help to separate the ritual elements present in jury duty from aspects that are more representative of technological routine . British structural functionalist Arnold Van Gennep was studying in circumstances very different from the modern moment. Still, Van Gennep s analysis offers a useful framework for understanding the stages of ritual. If one is willing to see jury duty as a rite of passage, a marker of adulthood within American society, then one can begin to see preliminal, liminal, and postliminal rites that make up its composition (Van Gennep 1960 p. 11). This division of rites can be seen in the treatment of space within the courtroom. When a prospective juror begins jury service, they partake in the pivoting that separates them from the profane world and temporarily places them in the realm of the sacred (Van Gennep 1960 p. 12). Water molecules are in constant random motion called diffusion. Diffusion is a physical property of molecules referring to their ability to move randomly in relation to their thermal energy. Diffusion weighted imaging has made its greatest impact on the imaging evaluation of ischemic stroke. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value, which is dependent on the material being imaged, then can be determined to show the amount of water movement. Because molecules diffuse in three dimensions, diffusion weighted images can be obtained along the X, Y, and Z planes. These images then can be averaged to produce a more accurate measurement. In each of the three planes, two strong dephasing and rephasing gradient pulses are added to a standard MRI pulse sequence at varying degrees of strength. The bright areas show the volume of the brain that may be damaged. Strong magnetic field gradients are used to separate fast and slow moving water molecules. The strength and duration of these gradient pulses are much stronger than those used with standard imaging sequences. The degree of diffusion weighting depends on the region of interest as well as the time between the diffusion gradients. Transverse magnetization is the vector component of the magnetic movement in the XY plane. While the water molecules spin in the strong magnetic field gradients, a phase shift of their transverse magnetization may occur. These phase shifts are comparable to the stationary spins. The proper floor preparation is essential before any installation. It is important that all sub flooring be flat with a tolerance of no more than one half inch over a twelve foot span. • 35. The Effects Of Sensory Information On The Brain Essay Although there are discrete cortexes in the brain, each with a specific purpose for integration, which have complex functions of their own, each part of the brain interacts with one another in complex ways that contribute to the integration of sensory information to the reality we are all so familiar with (Eagleman, 2015a). As explained by Doctor David Eagleman (2015a), the brain is like a city. There is no true single place that reality could be said to exist in the mind. Just as in a city, there are many different parts that make up the whole (Eagleman, 2015a). Each and every part of a city specializes in getting one thing done, like each cortex. However, rather than the success of the brain or city existing in the individual parts, reality is achieved by integrating each and every part into a single entity (Eagleman, 2015a).This means that the brain also integrates sensory information by creating interactions between the separate cortexes of the brain. An example of the way that sensory information communication is essential, is found in the interaction between smell and taste (Herz, 2007). Most of what we perceive as taste is actually a result of activation of the olfactory cortex, the area of the brain dedicated to the senseof smell (Herz, 2007). The interaction of these two senses leads to an enhancement of the sensation of taste, altering our creation and perceptionof reality surrounding the way we perceive taste (Herz, 2007). Essential to the communication ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Osteoporosis And Its Effects On The Body According to Mayo Clinic, Osteoporosis causes bones to become weak and brittle so brittle that a fall or even mild stresses like bending over or coughing can cause a fracture. Osteoporosis related fractures most commonly occur in the hip, wrist or spine (2014). The issue of osteoporosis is very important due to the fact that it happens to a lot of people all over the world. Although the disorder of the boneoccurs in older people, I believe that everyone should learn about osteoporosis before it happens to them. After age 35, both men and women will normally lose 0.3% 0.5% of their bone density per year as part of the aging process. Bones are continually growing until one s early adulthood and the bone mass is crucial in the skeletal structure. The bone mass determines how strong or weak one s skeletal system is, but it is influenced by the genetic factors as well as the modifications of environmental factors and medications. Bone mass can be measured by receiving different kinds of bone density tests and this can help guide your future to protect your bones in many ways. By having a bone density test, one will learn if they have weak or strong bones before they break any bone, predict the chances of breaking a bone, or see if your bones are starting to get stronger or weaker. The benefits of having a bone density test is mainly for future references. According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, About 54 million Americans have osteoporosis and low bone mass, placing them at increased risk for osteoporosis. Studies suggest that approximately one in two women and up to one in four men age 50 and older will break a bone due to osteoporosis. Quite a humble response from someone who is often referred to as his holiness, the wishful filing gem, or simply the presence by Tibetans. You see, that simple Buddhist monk is the 14th Dalai Lama. Now you may not be too familiar with exactly what that means, and no it does not in any way have to do with the llamas that spit. Then Rinpoche asked who the leader was and the boy gave his name correctly; he also knew the name of the real servant. • 38. Disadvantages Of Eutrophication 1. Introduction: In the following research paper, the parameters of how eutrophication develops will be discussed to acquire an understanding of this phenomenon. In addition, preventative and control methods will be looked at in order to devise a plan of action against eutrophication. In an aquatic ecosystem most of the nutrients are well balanced with the biodiversity of organisms. [FIND DISCOURSE MARKER TO ADD TWO SENTENCES] These aquatic ecosystems become disrupted when eutrophication (the presence of excessive and unwanted nutrients), occurs. Nutrients from agricultural, industrial and urban areas enter a drainage basin (streams, rivers, lakes, dams and ultimately, the ocean) by means of run off and groundwater. Certain organisms; for example, phytoplankton and algae, benefit from these nutrients which causes them to reproduce faster and amalgamate, forming a dense layer on the surface of the water. As a result, sunlight and oxygen cannot enter the water, causing extremely high carbon dioxide concentration levels and very low oxygen concentration levels. Due to a lack of oxygen, aerobic organisms experience hypoxia or suffocation and die. According to Setmire et al., (2000) there is a misconception when it comes to the toxicity of a body of water and eutrophication. Also, as a teenager, Booth had a fortune teller predict his future. When she looked at the may crossed lines on his palms she became worried and predicted he would die young but famous. Both of these prophecies were fulfilled in Booth s life. At the White House, just days before his assassination, Lincoln had a dream. In the dream, he had died been shot and killed and was lying in a large curtained coffin in the Green Room. This too came true. In response to these occurrences, I cannot really judge whether they are true or false. I generally consider supernatural events to be unlikely, though I would not deem them impossible. Considering the specific events in the story however, I believe the word in the flames and the supposed fortune actually specifically influenced Booth s life, instead of being signs of divine future seeing. • 43. Automated Patch Deployment Automated Patch Deployment Automated Patch Deployment The advantages of automated patch deployment are several. This study offers an insight in some of the most noticeable benefits of the implementation of patches especially those relating to the enhancement of production levels in a production setting. An organization stands the chance of increasing its productivity levels at the individual level once automated patches are deployed. As a result, the entire productivity of the organization increases (King, 2007). Another advantage of automated patch deployment is the enhancement of the security levels within an organization. The risk of losing confidential information concerning clients, employees and other resources of an organization are on the rise across the globe. Such critical information could land in the wrong hands making it detrimental to an organization. Through the patches, it is possible to fix security problems within an organization s network. Attackers use these vulnerabilities for malicious purposes. An effective, automated patch deployment will be able to minimize the risk of experiencing security breaches in a timely manner (Godbout, 2007). Compliance with different regulations can be met through automated patch deployment. These regulations are designed to enhance the public good, as well as, uphold best practices regarding IT infrastructure. The enhanced productivity and security that come with the automated patch deployment comes at a cost. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Delacroix Liberty Leading The People Analysis Scholars all agree that EugГЁne Delacroix s Liberty Leading the People (1830) represents a commemoration of the July Revolution with an allegorical figure of Liberty guiding French citizens over a barricade. While nobody offers an alternate reading of the subject, the methods used vary between scholars. The hybridization of formalism, biography, and social history can be seen as the standard approach to this work. While this approach on its own has lead to successful readings of the painting, some of the best analyses come from scholars who included other methodologies in their approach to the painting. The inclusion of feminism and Marxist in readings of this work allow scholars to address the obviously present themes of gender and class. However, some additional approaches are more successful than others, as scholars who attempt to implement psychoanalysis are less successful due to their evidence being based in the artist s own writings. While there have been a wide range of approaches used in the study of Delacroix s Liberty Leading the People, there is a severe lack of a postcolonial lens. Considering how prevalent this methodology is in studies of other works by Delacroix, a postcolonial analysis combined with the standard hybrid approach used in all other studies would be a worthwhile addition of the current collection of scholarship. It is important to note that iconography and semiotics also play a major role in the scholarship on Liberty Leading the People. Because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Human development discusses the changes a person experiences as they grow throughout life. This topic covers the physical, cognitive, and socioemotional changes throughout our lifetime and how they affect who we are and who we become. Human development includes both growth and decline in areas of a person as they continue through life. This topic interested me because it showed me how our learning capacities evolve as we grow. Before learning this chapter, I thought that people generally became more intelligent as they are exposed to more information. I was not aware of the concept of cognitive development and Piaget s stages. Object permanence and conservation were interesting to me because I could see how our thinking changes. • 47. Marx s Theory Of Total Social Capital Marx begins his analysis of capital accumulation and growth with the demarcation of capital into its two constituent parts: constant and variable capital. The former pertains to the means of production utilized (as determined by its mass), whereas the latter term applies to human labour power inputs of production (and is accounted for by the aggregation of wages). The organic composition of capitalwas then conceived to establish the ratio of constant (value composition) to variable (technical composition) capitalincorporated in production. In order to extrapolate the allocation capital of a single firm across the entire economy, Marx devised the concept of total social capital. This term refers to the average arrangements of capital in each sector of the economy, averaged across all spheres of the economy. Capital inherently generates an annual surplus, which in turn influences the level of variable capital employed. The surplus produced by capital is divided into revenue for the capitalist or reinvested in production. This reallocation of surplus ultimately determines the degree of accumulation (if more capital is reinvested, and less kept as revenue for consumption, then accumulation will be higher). It also has an effect on wages and the demand and supply of labour (i.e. components of variable capital). Supply increases absolutely, as does the demand for labour (if the variable capital needed for the operation of constant capital is unaffected) and wages will grow if ...
