Four Sandvik jumbos excavate India s first underground crude oil storage cavern
Indian contractor Hindustan Construction Company Ltd is using four Sandvik DT 820 underground
drill rigs to construct the country s first underground crude oil storage cavern, at Vizag in southern
India.
Four Sandvik DT 820 underground jumbo drill rigs are being used for the construction of India s first
underground crude oil storage cavern, located at Visakhapatnam in southern India, with two Sandvik
DX 700 surface drill rigs also being used benching work in the same site.
The cavern is being constructed under a Rs 375 crore (US$75.5 million) contract by Mumbai based

We inspect the hoses and linkages and the drill bits, and oil and lubricate the machines. Our own staff
do this, but Sandvik has an onsite presence and works very closely with our maintenance and
operating teams.
The jumbos were supplied to HCC by Sandvik India, whose senior engineer on site, Harish Pokharkar,
says that spare parts are supplied via the company s Pune headquarters.
The two Sandvik DX 700 surface drill rigs are being used around the two cavern shafts, where they
are undertaking vertical drilling for the benches that are being cut into the hillside.
Mr Pokharkar says that both machines are fitted with 45 mm R32 drill bits, with an R 38 shank
adapter and R 38 and R 32 drifter rods.
The DX 700s are drilling down to depths of 21 m, he says. We have a grinding facility for the drill bits
installed at the site, and we have recorded that by grinding we are achieving 30 percent extra life with
the bits.
We have also ascertained that machine availability has been slightly over 96 percent per month.
The crude oil cavern at Vizag is one of three such caverns planned by the Indian government, with a
storage capacity of five million . Two other caverns will be at Mangalore and Padur, with the crude
designed to act as a buffer in the event of emergencies or disruptions in supply. All three projects will
be operational by 2012.

The Causes Of Forced Migration In The Country Of Population
Forced migration is defined as, a general term that refers to the movements of refugees and internally
displaced people (those displaced by conflicts within their country of origin) as well as people
displaced by natural or environmental disasters, chemical or nuclear disasters, famine, or development
projects (Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, n.d.). Since the 1940, this issue has
risen steady and affects over a million individuals globally. In 2015, nine out of 1000 people were
evacuated by force (Bozorgmehr Razum, 2017). Health problems can become abundant among forced
migrants due to the vast amount of people dwelling within a small camp. Multiple diseases may begin
to fester among the refuge location because many people may bring the foreign illness to the location.
This may lead to new illnesses in a place that has not experienced that particular type of illness in that
area. Because majority of forced migrants are in such crowded quarters, diseases can proliferate
quickly throughout the population as a result of poor hygiene and sanitation. This leads to an increase
in health care demand; however, due to the increased amount of people in the vicinity these types of
services may be limited or unavailable to the individuals. A decrease or destruction of health care to
forced migrates can eventually lead to and increase mortality rate (Skolnik, 2016). Language and
cultural barriers may impact health care attainment for some individuals of forced

Mount Agung Or Gunung Agung
Mount Agung or Gunung Agung (Great Mountain) is located at the highest point on the beautiful
island of Bali, a province of Indonesia. Mount Agung is exceptionally steep and almost completely
barren on top. From afar it appears unassumingly innocent and perfectly dome shaped, with the
exception of a 1706 by 1230 foot open volcanic crater. Highly regarded by its villagers, Mount Agung
controls the surrounding areas by influencing the climate through water absorption from incoming
western clouds. This keeps the western area of Bali luxurious and green while the eastern area remains
dry and infertile. Mount Agung is located on the eastern side of the island sloping north east towards
the Bali Sea. To the southwest there is a row of small extinct volcanic cones, and towards the
northwest the volcano is separated by a narrow valley from Mount Batur. It is believed, by the
Balinese, to be a replica of Mount Meru a holy mountain in Hindu as well as Buddhist cosmology.
Myth has it that Mount Agung is a part of Meru that was carried by the earliest Hindus to Bali. On the
slopes of the mountain also lies Bali s stunning Besakih Temple. Although this sounds like it could be
a scenic getaway on a beautiful island, much like Hawaii, the Bali islanders will never forget the mass
destruction caused by Mount Agung s last recorded volcanic eruption in 1963 64.
A daily reminder of this devastation is the fact that Mount Agung remains an active volcano which
continues to burp smoke and ash.

Sympathetic Noradrenergic System Research Paper
The sympathetic noradrenergic system plays major roles in tonic and reflexive changes in
cardiovascular tone. Adrenaline is a major determinant of responses to metabolic or global challenges
to homeostasis. Adrenaline responses to stressors are more closely linked to responses of the
hypothalamic‐pituitary‐adrenocortical system than of the sympathetic nervous system. The
sympathetic noradrenergic system is active even when the individual is at rest and maintains tonic
levels of cardiovascular performance. Adreno receptors in the membranes of effector cells determine
the physiological and metabolic effects of catecholamine. Beta‐adrenoceptors mediate stimulatory
effects of catecholamine on the rate and force of the heartbeat; stimulation of ... Show more content on

Difference Between 1450 Ce And Qing Empires
During 1450 C.E to 1750 C.E, the Qing empire s method of conquest differed from the
Portuguese s method as the Qing sought to acquire more neighboring
land territory due to concerns for
security instead of being more focused on establishing trade posts in distant lands and islands for
control of commerce like the Portuguese. Another difference in the form of conquest between the Qing
and Portuguese empire s lays in their specific use of either superior naval technology that the
Portuguese held, which could devastate merchant ships in the Indian
Ocean or a powerful military army used by the Qing empire. However, both the methods the empires
used for conquest shared the same type of aggressiveness involved in the force of arms relating to the
Portuguese s way of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For China, the Qing empire s efforts in unifying neighboring lands within its own territory such as the
regions of Mongolia, XinJiang, and Tibet allowed the empire to solidify its protection against the
danger of nomadic people invading. This differs from the way the Portuguese empire seeked to control
the trade of commerce for economic benefit as they established many fortified bases within the Indian
Ocean such as Mombasa, Hormuz, Goa, and Malacca in Southeast Asia that were far away.
Differences in each empire s form of conquest also include the Qing empire s use of a powerful
military army that contributed to China s territorial expansion whereas the Portuguese s naval ships
allowed the empire to dominate the Indian Ocean trade since other merchant ships were not capable of
challenging them. The Qing dynasty s army would undertake specific efforts of occupying new
territories that have not yet been controlled by the empire itself such as the creation of a state that was
originally controlled by the Zunghars. This form of conquering new neighboring areas through land

based armies would differ from how the Portuguese

Analysis Of The Four Seasons
The Four Seasons is a set of four violin concertos composed by 17th and 18th century composer
Antonio Vivaldi. Vivaldi was born on March 4th 1678, in Venice, Italy and was renowned for his
Baroque styled concertos and operas. He was a prolific composer who created numerous works and
became a highly influential innovator in form and pattern (biography.com). He was also ordained as
priest but chose to follow through with his passion for music. Giovanni Battista Vivaldi, Vivaldi s
father, was a professional violinist and taught Vivaldi how to play, but as his violin practice flourished
a chronic shortness of breath barred him from mastering wind instruments (biography.com).
Amongst the most popular pieces in the Classical music repertoire, The Four Seasons is Vivaldi s best
known work. Composed between 1720 and 1723, during the Baroque period, Vivaldi published his
work in 1725 in Amsterdam as part of a set of twelve concerti. Uncommon to the time, The Four
Seasons were published with accompanying poems, possibly written by Vivaldi, to illustrate what is
was about the seasons that his music was designed to evoke. Vivaldi was inspired by many landscape
paintings by Marco Ricci, an Italian artist of the time, and wanted to represent each season.
All three movements are written in Ritornello form and are performed in common time. In each
movement there are five instruments used Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, Bass.
The first movement is mainly homophonic and is performed

Respiratory Syncytial Virus In Healthy Children
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a very common virus that can cause mild cold like symptoms in
adults and older healthy children. It can cause serious respiratory problems in young babies, especially
those babies which are born prematurely, who have diseases of the heart or lung, or those individuals
who are immunocompromised. In adults, it may only produce symptoms of a common cold, such as a
stuffy nose, sore throat, mild headache, cough, fever, etc. As of now, prevention of RSV infection is
limited to the standard infection control practices, such as proper hand washing and the frequent use of
PPE (gowns and gloves). Outbreaks of RSV infections most frequently begin in the fall and can run
all the way into the spring. The most common ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These include the elderly, persons with cardiopulmonary diseases, and immunocompromised
personnel. Upper respiratory tract infections tend to affect older children and young adults.
Additionally, RSV has been identified as the cause of 2 to 5% of adult community acquired
pneumonias. This has led to attack rates in nursing homes to be around 5 to 10% per year, with
substantial rates of pneumonia (10 to 20%) and death (2 to 5%). Diagnosing the RSV infection in
adults has proven to be difficult due to the viral culture and antigen detection being insensitive,
presumably due to the low viral titers present in nasal secretions. The counter for this in
immunosuppressed patients is early bronchoscopy. Also, the treatment of RSV in the geriatric
population is largely supportive, however early therapy with ribavirin and intravenous gamma
globulin has shown improved survival in immunocompromised

The Raegan Administration as Having Altered the American Political Agenda To understand why the
Reagan presidency was so unique first one must understand transformation of the presidency. The post
1932 modern presidency differs from the modern presidency in three ways unique ways. The first
reason is that the modern president have grown stronger, and thus expanded and developed
independence to create policy. The second reason is that the president s role in shaping the annual
legislative agenda and influencing congress has been institutionalised. The third reason is that in the
modern presidency, there has been a large expansion in official presidential staff. In 1937 President

Reagan was much liked because he offered a broad appeal, he shared the notions of people such as
Goldwater but Reagan would be much liked. One thing the American public hates is an out spoken
candidate, and that s what people such as Goldwater was, so Reagan was the ideal candidate.
Goldwater was the extreme right of the Republican Party, Goldwater often criticised the policies of
Dwight Eisenhower. He described his social policies as dime store New Deal and strongly opposed the
president s decisions to use federal troops at little rock. Goldwater also believed that Eisenhower was
too soft on trade unions and complained about his failure o balance the budget. Reagan had an
attractive personality and also had a good style as a political performer, this made Reagan a strong
candidate, his notions and his ideology made him a candidate who might be able to represent
conservative views, and more importantly be electable. Many candidates with strong political views,
sometimes forget their political position once they are elected into office. However Reagan made it his
goal to be true to his conservative principles, which he had been compiling

Terror Henry Stanley Morton
Henry Stanley Morton Terror In the first chapter of the book, they give a brief description of one of
the main characters, Henry Morton Stanley. The man with many different names worked as a
journalist and was a soldier on both sides of the civil war. He was then employed by King Leopold
and was sent to explore the Congo and help him to develop it to open it up to trade (he was sent first to
find Livingstone then develop the Congo). While many people may say that he was a hero (since most
explorers were classified as heroes do to their bold explorations), he still did many cruel and terrifying
things in Africa. Yet, he never really faced any consequences for his actions. To start off, on page 30

immense amount of trouble as well as goes to say how he whips them restoring them to sound. Stanley

There are good and bad there are many good people in the world and many bad in the world. Some
people judge by their social group or ethnic background and many are not what they say. Because the
right can be wrong and the wrong can be right.
If Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was here in our society he would be disappointed at what the economy is

Catherine Earnshaw Essay
As represented in Catherine Earnshaw s early characterization, the social and cultural ideals of the
time period are heavily reinforced through Catherine s defiant individualism and love for the initially
lowly Heathcliff, which contrasts with the civility and propriety of the people around her. Despite
being set solely in the Yorkshire Moors in England, the delicate social hierarchy of class is clearly
seen in the residents of both Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, in which Wuthering Heights
lacks the class, refinement, and civilization of the latter. Despite the era s social expectations of
women as submissive and demure individuals expected to marry into a wealthy family, Catherine
rejects these very standards through her fierce love for Heathcliff ... Show more content on

With this description, Catherine emphasizes the social values of the eighteenth century through her
willingness to defy authority and reason, pitting her against the strict societal expectations of the era.
However, the exposure of Catherine to Thrushcross Grange as she stays at the manor to recover from
the injury to her ankle, prompts a transformation in her romanticist character that openly explores the
cultural values of the Yorkshire Manors. The civility of the Lintons in Thrushcross Grange transforms
the once defiant and youthful Catherine into a mature and well groomed lady that develops an internal
conflict between her love for the well mannered and wealthy Edgar Linton and the lowly Heathcliff.
In Brontë s novel, Catherine emphasizes her characterization in a scene where she laments this
internal conflict saying, I ve no more business to marry Edgar Linton than I have to be in heaven; and
if the wicked man in there had not brought Heathcliff so low, I shouldn t have thought of it. It would
degrade me to marry Heathcliff now; so he shall never know how I love him (Brontë

What s Eating Gilbert Grape- Review and Critique
What s Eating Gilbert Grape.
Film review and critique.
Society s ideological constructs and attitudes towards minority groups are created and reinforced
through media imagery. Although negative associations that maintain inequities with regard to race,
gender and homophobia (Conner Bejoian, 2006) have been somewhat relieved, disability is still
immersed in harmful connotations that restrict and inhibit the life of people with disabilities in our
society.
Disability has appeared frequently in recent films (Byrd Elliot, 1988), a reflection of society s interest
in the subject. These films often misrepresent disability using stereotypes. These stereotypes reinforce
negative and incorrect social perceptions of, and attitudes towards, ... Show more content on

Whenever he tries to escape (usually to the water tower), he is ultimately returned back to this position
of subordination under the care of others, which is typical of this stereotype (Hayes Black, 2003).
A most common stereotype depicted of disabled characters is that of a super man (Safran, 2000) or
supercrip (Harnett, 2000), where a disabled character overcomes massive odds to beat or succeed in
defeating their disability to become normal . The character is often seen as a hero to have made such
progress. Although Arnie does not reflect a hero status, his character is beating his disability by the
very fact that he is still alive. In the opening scenes of the movie, Gilbert s narration lets the audience
know that doctors said we d be lucky if Arnie lived to be ten, well ten came and went (Matalon,
Ohlsson, Teper Hallström, 1993), implying Arnie s triumph over tragedy . He defies death that would
be otherwise be brought about by his disability.
Although not a thematic stereotype reinforced throughout this whole film, it is typical of a disabled
character to be represented as a victim or object of violence (Safran, 2000). At the climax of the film,
Gilbert s overwhelming frustration and anger of his life situation overflows into a violent episode
directed at Arnie. On occasions throughout the film, Arnie is portrayed as an innocent a victim or
object of violence from his

How Atopy Can Be Defined As The Genetic Tendency Of An...
Atopy can be defined as the genetic tendency of an individual to develop allergic diseases such as
allergic rhinitis, asthma and atopic dermatitis. It is also known as a hypersensitivity disorder or an
exaggerated immune reaction to a foreign antigen. It is associated with a heightened immune response
by the body to common allergens which may be inhaled, contact or food allergens (Medicine net,
2016). Atopy also involves the capacity to produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) in response to common
environmental proteins, resulting in an IgE mediated allergy (Medscape, 2017). As in the case study,
an IgE mediated allergy to finned fish and crustaceans was established.

Inhalation of the seafood aerosols resulted in the asthma symptoms. Inhalation is also a common route
of entry for allergens into the systemic circulation.
Also, the constant skin contact with native fish and crustaceans for about 10years while working as a
truck driver was another predisposing factor. The longer the exposure time of the substance on the
surface of the body, the higher the dermal absorption of substances into the body (Mehta, 2004).
Another exposure factor is that the sensitization by the worker was facilitated by the wet and cold
conditions of the work environment (irritative factors). Increase in the water content and temperature
of the skin increases the rate and extent of dermal absorption of substances. A rise in the temperature
of the skin results in vasodilation which allows for the passage of more blood in the dermal layers of
the skin resulting in an increase in the transport via diffusion of harmful materials into the body (Shier,
Butler, Lewis, 2014, p. 136). When the integrity of the skin surface is compromised or damaged by
temperature trauma resulting from wet and cold conditions of the sea food products, scrapes, cuts or
bruises due to lack of hand gloves; its ability to serve as an effective protective layer is affected
(National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, 2013).
Therefore, the lower the integrity of the skin, the higher the permeability and extent of dermal
absorption of substances from the skin surface

Judicial precedent is based on Stare decisis therefore in similar cases judges have to follow their own

A breach of contract is when one party doesn t perform the contract in a way which is expected or

the first of these is a minor breach which once this happens the innocent party is entitled to

fundamental breach where the contract can be terminated and damages can be claimed such as in the

Why Is John Adams Important
John Adams is a very important man in history. He is most commonly known for his role as the
second president of the United States. However, there is more to Adams then his role a the second
president of the United States. On October 30, 1775, Adams was born into a farming family in present
day Quincy, Massachusetts. Like many young boys, John Adams admired the outdoors. When he grew
old enough Adams wanted to become a farmer. His father, John Adams Sr., knew that he had more
potential. Adams never had much of an interest in school work, nevertheless his parents provided him
with a good education. As a young boy Adams attended a public Latin school in Quincy,
Massachusetts. As well as providing Adams with a good education, his parents also equipped him with
two private tutors. In 1755, Adams decided to further his education at Harvard. At nineteen years old
Adams had decided to pursue a career as an grammar teacher. It didn t take John Adams one to realize
that being an grammar was not what he was called to do. He was later admitted to Boston
Massachusetts Bar where he focused on law. After graduation Adams was a lawyer, but he only took

Cognitive Theories And Theories Of Psychology
INTRODUCTION There are many approaches that psychologists have developed in order to
understand certain behavior. The most common approaches in psychology are psychodynamic,
behavior, cognitive, humanistic, and biological approaches. The ultimate goal of each method is to
help individuals change unhealthy thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. However, these different
approaches use different techniques to form assumptions and explanations about abnormality. In this
essay, cognitive and psychodynamic are the two approaches that will be discussed. Even though these
two approaches have a few similarities, their differences are more obvious. COGNITIVE
APPROACH The cognitive theory approach explains that people s thoughts or beliefs form certain
behaviors and emotions. This theory was developed in the early 1960s, and it attempts to describe the
behavior of humans by studying thoughts and reasoning process (Beck 1995). The automatic thoughts
that we have about ourselves can affect emotions and self concept. Also, our global assumptions about
other people and the world can be either positive and helpful or negative and destructive (Nolen
Hoeksema 2014). The two founders of this view, Albert Ellis and Aaron Beck, claimed the
dysfunctional thinking that influences negative emotions and maladaptive behavior is common to all
psychological disturbances (Beck 1995). With cognitive therapy, the therapist helps the patient

Music And The Negative Effects Of Heavy Metal Music
Heavy metal music is often criticized for being a negative influence due to the lyrical content and
aesthetics of the genre. For those unfamiliar with heavy metal, it is easy to make this correlation
because of the darker and often taboo subject matter present throughout the music. With a little more
analysis, however, it can be discovered that these same aspects thought to be negative actually bring
forth positive results among metal listeners. What is found in heavy metal music is actually a display
of emotions and energy that often have a purging effect which helps listeners of metal cope with the
constantly changing world around them. Heavy metal is used as a tool for expressing emotion in a
nonviolent way, rather than through physical destruction sought by some other genres.
Heavy metal is a lot like an experiment to the people who do not understand it or those who dislike it.
They look at it as a disgrace, dissect it, run tests on it, and analyze the results in order to get
ammunition to put it down.
Researchers from the University of Queensland in Australia have found that when volunteers were
exposed to extreme music genres including heavy metal, emo, hardcore, punk, and screamo, they
actually experienced a range of positive feelings, such as calmness, happiness or being inspired. The
study, conducted by honours student Leah Sharman and psychologist Genevieve Dingle and published
in the June 26, 2015 edition of Science Alert by writer Peter Dockrill , took 39

Mucha
Alphonse Mucha, an adept designer from the Art Nouveau movement, heavily inspired my art piece
Just Breathe . Mucha is renowned for his captivating feminine style. His works from Art Nouveau
often had a central female figure encircled in intricate design. The surrounding design ranged from
nature to themes inspired from cultures such as Moravian folk art.
Similarly, my poster contains a leading woman placed in the center. She is enclosed in a circle of
blues, greens, and teals with a unique texture. A smoky design also escapes her mouth to resemble
breathing. Much like Mucha; flowers, a peacock feather, and the colors are influenced by the
movement he partook in. He also created hand drawn typography in his prints and paintings. I was
decided to try the same with the words: just breathe. Outside the circle and type, it is illuminated by a
light blue. That shade is also used to create a border around the whole ... Show more content on

I took the information I already knew and what I learned and incorporated bits into my own piece. I
then made a sketch on 11x14 bristol paper. After that, I created the lineart with micron pens. Microns
have pigment ink which made it helpful to color the woman and flowers with copic markers. The
circle was painted with watercolor while the texture was made with paper towels and a paintbrush.
Around the girl and the smoky design is a white outline. That was done with white gel pen.
Overall, my intention for this poster was to create a serene image that reminds the viewer to a take a
step back and breathe from any stress they are enduring. I was influenced by my own personal
experiences with Anxiety to create this. I easily get anxious and suffer from panic attacks. A lot of the
time, I forget to breathe because of this. With this work, I could picture it in a counselor or therapist s
office. Possibly in someone s own room to give them that

Birth Order And Its Impact On Society
For centuries, one of the most curious stereotypes that have compelled most people is the role birth
order has on their personalities and lives. Is birth order necessarily important? Does it honestly affect
our personalities? Birth order has been controversial issue since biblical times for example Cain and
Abel and Jacob and Esau. Psychologists have a lot of assumptions about how that individual behaves
and responds to life whenever a person is a first born, middle child, youngest child, or only child. The
questions remains, what difference does birth order make, and how true is it that birth order can even
have an impact? Theorist has looked at the various studies regarding birth order most of which have
used the example of the Adlerian concept of birth order to suggest intelligence and personality type
the following paper will work to better understand if birth order makes a significant difference in the
outcome of an individual s life. Leman believes the key to sibling personality discrepancies lies in
birth order and how the parents treat their children due to it. However, there are numerous
psychologists responsible for the stereotypes of birth order, and how it contributes to various
personality types in the study. People have distinctive traits that could be perceived of first, middle,
youngest, and only children. These distinctive traits are potentially affective in relationships with
friends, spouses, etc. The first born tend to have characteristics of being

Informative Speech On Henry Ford
I am here to tell you about Henry Ford and how he made the Ford Motor Company famous. Henry
Ford was born on July thirtieth, eighteen sixty three at his dad s farm in Wayne County Michigan.
Henry s parents were William Ford and Mary Ford. William was an Irish businessman and Mary died
while giving birth to her last child. Henry had four siblings, two brothers and two sisters. His sisters
were Margaret Ford and Jane Ford. His brothers were William Ford Jr. and Robert Ford. Henry
attended local private schools as a young boy and also attended a private grammar school. Later Henry
attended Bryant and Stratton Business College. As Henry Turned sixteen he became a machinist and

One of the first automobiles and probable one of the most successful was the Model T. This
automobile was reliable but since it was one of Henry s first it was a little high in price. In nineteen o
nine Henry started to mass produce the Model T and it was a big hit. The original cost of the Model T
when Henry first started producing them was eight hundred and fifty dollars. This may sound very
cheap today but this was very expensive in the early nineteen hundreds. With this cost Henry was not
impressed and only met half of his goal. Henry tried to meet his goal by creating a chain of conveyer
belts to move parts through the factory faster, more efficiently, and at a steady pace. Henry also had a
new idea he wanted to try with having only one person perform a single and small task. With Henry
having one person per task he was going to need hundreds of people to work, but Henry had no
trouble with that because he was paying five dollars a day to the people who worked in his factory. By
making these simple adjustments to the way Henry produced the automobiles, it cut the time that it
took to assemble them tremendously. The time to assemble a new Model T went from a long twelve
and a half hours in nineteen twelve to a very short one hour and a half in nineteen fourteen. This was
amazing for Henry but this only brought the price down a little bit, this meant not everyone or most
people could afford it. Henry decided to try to get the cost lower and he soon succeeded by making his
own glass and steel. This brought the cost down but also made sure the product where tough and were
exactly what Henry needed for his automobiles. By making his own materials it brought the price
down to five hundred and fifty dollars in nineteen thirteen. Henry still thought the price needed to be
lower so everyone could afford to have a Model T. By nineteen fifteen the

Sir Francis Drake Sir Francis Drake s circumnavigation of the globe made him the best royally

Azores where he managed to capture a handsome prize, Drake returned once more to England, having
seriously set back Philip of Spain s plans to assemble an armada against England. Back at home,
Drake unceasingly preached the need for naval preparedness against certain attack from Spain(Pirate

An Example Of An Immigrant As A Refugee
To be considered a refugee, one must be forcefully removed from their homeland through a fear of
violent persecution or driven away by some form of armed conflict (UNHCR, 2016). Examples of this
would be people being displaced by violent warfare or other political conflict in which their lives or
well being may be at stake. In addition to this, such conditions may make it difficult, or even
impossible, for these people to return to their home. On the other hand, migrants are defined as people
who leave their homeland by choice without any threat of violence. Often, migrants hope to find a
better life for their families by seeking out economic opportunity in a foreign land, and are not
necessarily at risk if they were to return (UNHCR, 2016).

Design Of The Research Design Essay
CHAPTER 4
DESIGN OF THE STUDY
4.1 INTRODUCTION
This chapter describes the methodology and research design of the study. The methodology describes
the broad scheme or plan of the research and elaborates the tools of analysis. A methodology or a
research design refers to approaches and research strategies, e.g. surveys; questionnaires etc. In a
broader context methodology refers to a design whereby, the researcher selects data and analysis
procedures to investigate a specific research problem (Cohen, Manion and Morrison; 2008). Research
designs have been classified differently by different scholars. Some scholars (Bodgan Biklen, 1982)
discuss research methods under two broad headings: qualitative and quantitative. Gay (1987) indicates
that while naturalistic researcher prefer qualitative methods, such as participant observation and in
depth interviewing, rationalistic researchers tend to use quantitative methodologies such as random
selection of subjects and administration of standardized instruments. While qualitative studies focus
on subjective information, such as feelings, experiences or opinions: data that cannot be scientifically
quantified. Quantitative research is the opposite, shunning subjectivity in favor of objectivity.
Quantitative research focuses on statistics and quantifiable information.
The present research is both qualitative and quantitative in nature as it involves in depth analysis of
the textbook content as well as questionnaire which has both open

My Leadership Philosophy Of The United States Air Force
The intention of this paper is to introduce my leadership philosophy. I will start off defining leadership
as well as explaining my leadership philosophy. I will then share a summary of an interview with a
Squadron Commander about a difficult situation that he needed to use his philosophy to work through
and analyze how my philosophy applies to the same situation followed by a brief summary.
There are numerous definitions of the word leadership and it can mean many things to many people.
For the purpose of this assignment I feel the best definition of leadership is ...the art and science of
motivating, influencing, and directing airmen to understand and accomplish the Air Force mission in
joint warfare. 1 When taking over a new command it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe without integrity as the cornerstone in building any relationships, higher levels of
productivity cannot be obtained and ultimately with crumble. It is important for your people to trust
that you have their interests and goals at heart while also laying out clear expectations early on in your
command and trusting, yet verifying all parties are meeting expectations. Throughout my life and
previous experiences I have witnessed firsthand how cohesive units are when these values are
incorporated into leadership philosophies and have also seen how detrimental it is to the unit if they
are not incorporated. An additional layer to integrity is that I would never ask of others what I would
or could not do myself. Nothing will alienate a follower quicker than a leader who is unwilling to
work as hard as or demonstrate that they are willing to get in the trenches with the people they are
leading.
For my interview, I interviewed a peer who is a squadron commander at Grand Forks Air Force Base,
ND4. He stated his most challenging leadership issue came about early on in his command. Within the
first six weeks of his command, seven of his Airmen failed their PT tests. One of these failures was an
Airman facing a medical evaluation board due to several back surgeries. The commander states he was
sympathetic to his situation but he had to remain tough since it was

Breaking In A Glove Essay
I was five years old when I first put on a baseball glove. No, scratch that, I was five when I first
played baseball. From the time I could open my eyes and look at my dad, I was wearing orange and
black SF Giants gear. Once I had a handle on walking, I was learning to throw and catch. As soon I
was of age, my dad signed me up for T Ball and he gave me my first real glove. Not a cheap faux
leather/polyester mix glove, a genuine, leather glove. I loved that glove, and I held onto it for years.
During those years, I grew quite a bit and it was obvious my glove needed to grow too. My dad took
me to the local Sport Chalet and we started to look at the different gloves. My dad is a veteran of the
sport and we thought we would know which glove would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But any I tried on felt foreign, especially if they were already broken in. My dad and uncle both agree,
concluding that the gloves that were broken in had trust from other people already. Breaking in a
glove is a recurring rite of passage in a player s career. It s during this time where he becomes
acquainted with the glove, which becomes customized to the player. It is impossible to break in a
glove the same way as someone else. The shape of and way we move our catching hand, how we sleep
on it, what kind of practice balls we take, everything breaks down the leather and molds it to fit its
player. It becomes less of an extraneous object and more of a part of him.
In this sense, a player s glove can easily be seen as an extension of himself. When my glove tore, my
confidence in myself started to tear. When I can t trust part of me, I can t trust the rest of me. Players
don t like borrowing gloves because they aren t a part of them. It belongs to someone else and will for
years, both in the past and future. Gloves are not simply leather stitched together to protect a hand.
They are there to enhance the hand on which they are placed. But they can augment a player s skill, if
we put our trust in

Observational Learning Research Paper
I enjoyed learning about observational learning, which is what you learn from watching other people. I
learned about observational learning at a very young age. Whenever my mother would cook in the
kitchen, I would be standing right there just watching how she preformed each task, and yet I learned
so much. I even wanted to be a chef at the time because I felt like I could cook anything.
Observational learning is definitely will be a benefit to my future goals. I believe I am pretty good at
learning this way. When it is time for me to pursue my externship for medical assistant, I will be
watching things being done first and then try to mimic exactly what I just saw, so I will be watching
closely to try my best to get it right on the first try.

Labyrinths in the Borgesian World. A labyrinth can be defined as a structure consisting of a number of

labyrinths. At an early age, Borges was haunted by these mysterious things that filled his childhood,

History of Catering Industry Acient to Mordern Four Sandvik jumbos excavate India s first underground crude oil storage cavern Indian contractor Hindustan Construction Company Ltd is using four Sandvik DT 820 underground drill rigs to construct the country s first underground crude oil storage cavern, at Vizag in southern India. Four Sandvik DT 820 underground jumbo drill rigs are being used for the construction of India s first underground crude oil storage cavern, located at Visakhapatnam in southern India, with two Sandvik DX 700 surface drill rigs also being used benching work in the same site. The cavern is being constructed under a Rs 375 crore (US$75.5 million) contract by Mumbai based Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC) for Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We inspect the hoses and linkages and the drill bits, and oil and lubricate the machines. Our own staff do this, but Sandvik has an onsite presence and works very closely with our maintenance and operating teams. The jumbos were supplied to HCC by Sandvik India, whose senior engineer on site, Harish Pokharkar, says that spare parts are supplied via the company s Pune headquarters. The two Sandvik DX 700 surface drill rigs are being used around the two cavern shafts, where they are undertaking vertical drilling for the benches that are being cut into the hillside. Mr Pokharkar says that both machines are fitted with 45 mm R32 drill bits, with an R 38 shank adapter and R 38 and R 32 drifter rods. The DX 700s are drilling down to depths of 21 m, he says. We have a grinding facility for the drill bits installed at the site, and we have recorded that by grinding we are achieving 30 percent extra life with the bits. We have also ascertained that machine availability has been slightly over 96 percent per month. The crude oil cavern at Vizag is one of three such caverns planned by the Indian government, with a storage capacity of five million . Two other caverns will be at Mangalore and Padur, with the crude designed to act as a buffer in the event of emergencies or disruptions in supply. All three projects will be operational by 2012. Box

  • 4. The Causes Of Forced Migration In The Country Of Population Forced migration is defined as, a general term that refers to the movements of refugees and internally displaced people (those displaced by conflicts within their country of origin) as well as people displaced by natural or environmental disasters, chemical or nuclear disasters, famine, or development projects (Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, n.d.). Since the 1940, this issue has risen steady and affects over a million individuals globally. In 2015, nine out of 1000 people were evacuated by force (Bozorgmehr Razum, 2017). Health problems can become abundant among forced migrants due to the vast amount of people dwelling within a small camp. Multiple diseases may begin to fester among the refuge location because many people may bring the foreign illness to the location. This may lead to new illnesses in a place that has not experienced that particular type of illness in that area. Because majority of forced migrants are in such crowded quarters, diseases can proliferate quickly throughout the population as a result of poor hygiene and sanitation. This leads to an increase in health care demand; however, due to the increased amount of people in the vicinity these types of services may be limited or unavailable to the individuals. A decrease or destruction of health care to forced migrates can eventually lead to and increase mortality rate (Skolnik, 2016). Language and cultural barriers may impact health care attainment for some individuals of forced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Mount Agung Or Gunung Agung Mount Agung or Gunung Agung (Great Mountain) is located at the highest point on the beautiful island of Bali, a province of Indonesia. Mount Agung is exceptionally steep and almost completely barren on top. From afar it appears unassumingly innocent and perfectly dome shaped, with the exception of a 1706 by 1230 foot open volcanic crater. Highly regarded by its villagers, Mount Agung controls the surrounding areas by influencing the climate through water absorption from incoming western clouds. This keeps the western area of Bali luxurious and green while the eastern area remains dry and infertile. Mount Agung is located on the eastern side of the island sloping north east towards the Bali Sea. To the southwest there is a row of small extinct volcanic cones, and towards the northwest the volcano is separated by a narrow valley from Mount Batur. It is believed, by the Balinese, to be a replica of Mount Meru a holy mountain in Hindu as well as Buddhist cosmology. Myth has it that Mount Agung is a part of Meru that was carried by the earliest Hindus to Bali. On the slopes of the mountain also lies Bali s stunning Besakih Temple. Although this sounds like it could be a scenic getaway on a beautiful island, much like Hawaii, the Bali islanders will never forget the mass destruction caused by Mount Agung s last recorded volcanic eruption in 1963 64. A daily reminder of this devastation is the fact that Mount Agung remains an active volcano which continues to burp smoke and ash. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Sympathetic Noradrenergic System Research Paper The sympathetic noradrenergic system plays major roles in tonic and reflexive changes in cardiovascular tone. Adrenaline is a major determinant of responses to metabolic or global challenges to homeostasis. Adrenaline responses to stressors are more closely linked to responses of the hypothalamic‐pituitary‐adrenocortical system than of the sympathetic nervous system. The sympathetic noradrenergic system is active even when the individual is at rest and maintains tonic levels of cardiovascular performance. Adreno receptors in the membranes of effector cells determine the physiological and metabolic effects of catecholamine. • 8. Difference Between 1450 Ce And Qing Empires During 1450 C.E to 1750 C.E, the Qing empire s method of conquest differed from the Portuguese s method as the Qing sought to acquire more neighboring land territory due to concerns for security instead of being more focused on establishing trade posts in distant lands and islands for control of commerce like the Portuguese. Another difference in the form of conquest between the Qing and Portuguese empire s lays in their specific use of either superior naval technology that the Portuguese held, which could devastate merchant ships in the Indian Ocean or a powerful military army used by the Qing empire. However, both the methods the empires used for conquest shared the same type of aggressiveness involved in the force of arms relating to the Portuguese s way of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For China, the Qing empire s efforts in unifying neighboring lands within its own territory such as the regions of Mongolia, XinJiang, and Tibet allowed the empire to solidify its protection against the danger of nomadic people invading. This differs from the way the Portuguese empire seeked to control the trade of commerce for economic benefit as they established many fortified bases within the Indian Ocean such as Mombasa, Hormuz, Goa, and Malacca in Southeast Asia that were far away. Differences in each empire s form of conquest also include the Qing empire s use of a powerful military army that contributed to China s territorial expansion whereas the Portuguese s naval ships allowed the empire to dominate the Indian Ocean trade since other merchant ships were not capable of challenging them. The Qing dynasty s army would undertake specific efforts of occupying new territories that have not yet been controlled by the empire itself such as the creation of a state that was originally controlled by the Zunghars. • 10. Analysis Of The Four Seasons The Four Seasons is a set of four violin concertos composed by 17th and 18th century composer Antonio Vivaldi. Vivaldi was born on March 4th 1678, in Venice, Italy and was renowned for his Baroque styled concertos and operas. He was a prolific composer who created numerous works and became a highly influential innovator in form and pattern (biography.com). He was also ordained as priest but chose to follow through with his passion for music. Giovanni Battista Vivaldi, Vivaldi s father, was a professional violinist and taught Vivaldi how to play, but as his violin practice flourished a chronic shortness of breath barred him from mastering wind instruments (biography.com). Amongst the most popular pieces in the Classical music repertoire, The Four Seasons is Vivaldi s best known work. Composed between 1720 and 1723, during the Baroque period, Vivaldi published his work in 1725 in Amsterdam as part of a set of twelve concerti. Uncommon to the time, The Four Seasons were published with accompanying poems, possibly written by Vivaldi, to illustrate what is was about the seasons that his music was designed to evoke. Vivaldi was inspired by many landscape paintings by Marco Ricci, an Italian artist of the time, and wanted to represent each season. All three movements are written in Ritornello form and are performed in common time. In each movement there are five instruments used Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, Bass. The first movement is mainly homophonic and is performed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Respiratory Syncytial Virus In Healthy Children Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a very common virus that can cause mild cold like symptoms in adults and older healthy children. It can cause serious respiratory problems in young babies, especially those babies which are born prematurely, who have diseases of the heart or lung, or those individuals who are immunocompromised. In adults, it may only produce symptoms of a common cold, such as a stuffy nose, sore throat, mild headache, cough, fever, etc. As of now, prevention of RSV infection is limited to the standard infection control practices, such as proper hand washing and the frequent use of PPE (gowns and gloves). Outbreaks of RSV infections most frequently begin in the fall and can run all the way into the spring. The most common ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These include the elderly, persons with cardiopulmonary diseases, and immunocompromised personnel. Upper respiratory tract infections tend to affect older children and young adults. Additionally, RSV has been identified as the cause of 2 to 5% of adult community acquired pneumonias. This has led to attack rates in nursing homes to be around 5 to 10% per year, with substantial rates of pneumonia (10 to 20%) and death (2 to 5%). Diagnosing the RSV infection in adults has proven to be difficult due to the viral culture and antigen detection being insensitive, presumably due to the low viral titers present in nasal secretions. The counter for this in immunosuppressed patients is early bronchoscopy. Also, the treatment of RSV in the geriatric population is largely supportive, however early therapy with ribavirin and intravenous gamma globulin has shown improved survival in immunocompromised ... The Raegan Administration as Having Altered the American Political Agenda To understand why the Reagan presidency was so unique first one must understand transformation of the presidency. The post 1932 modern presidency differs from the modern presidency in three ways unique ways. The first reason is that the modern president have grown stronger, and thus expanded and developed independence to create policy. The second reason is that the president s role in shaping the annual legislative agenda and influencing congress has been institutionalised. • 15. Catherine Earnshaw Essay As represented in Catherine Earnshaw s early characterization, the social and cultural ideals of the time period are heavily reinforced through Catherine s defiant individualism and love for the initially lowly Heathcliff, which contrasts with the civility and propriety of the people around her. Despite being set solely in the Yorkshire Moors in England, the delicate social hierarchy of class is clearly seen in the residents of both Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, in which Wuthering Heights lacks the class, refinement, and civilization of the latter. Despite the era s social expectations of women as submissive and demure individuals expected to marry into a wealthy family, Catherine rejects these very standards through her fierce love for Heathcliff ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With this description, Catherine emphasizes the social values of the eighteenth century through her willingness to defy authority and reason, pitting her against the strict societal expectations of the era. However, the exposure of Catherine to Thrushcross Grange as she stays at the manor to recover from the injury to her ankle, prompts a transformation in her romanticist character that openly explores the cultural values of the Yorkshire Manors. The civility of the Lintons in Thrushcross Grange transforms the once defiant and youthful Catherine into a mature and well groomed lady that develops an internal conflict between her love for the well mannered and wealthy Edgar Linton and the lowly Heathcliff. In Brontë s novel, Catherine emphasizes her characterization in a scene where she laments this internal conflict saying, I ve no more business to marry Edgar Linton than I have to be in heaven; and if the wicked man in there had not brought Heathcliff so low, I shouldn t have thought of it. Society s ideological constructs and attitudes towards minority groups are created and reinforced through media imagery. The character is often seen as a hero to have made such progress. Although Arnie does not reflect a hero status, his character is beating his disability by the very fact that he is still alive. In the opening scenes of the movie, Gilbert s narration lets the audience know that doctors said we d be lucky if Arnie lived to be ten, well ten came and went (Matalon, Ohlsson, Teper Hallström, 1993), implying Arnie s triumph over tragedy . He defies death that would be otherwise be brought about by his disability. Atopy can be defined as the genetic tendency of an individual to develop allergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis, asthma and atopic dermatitis. It is also known as a hypersensitivity disorder or an exaggerated immune reaction to a foreign antigen. It is associated with a heightened immune response by the body to common allergens which may be inhaled, contact or food allergens (Medicine net, 2016). Atopy also involves the capacity to produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) in response to common environmental proteins, resulting in an IgE mediated allergy (Medscape, 2017). Also, the constant skin contact with native fish and crustaceans for about 10years while working as a truck driver was another predisposing factor. The longer the exposure time of the substance on the surface of the body, the higher the dermal absorption of substances into the body (Mehta, 2004). Another exposure factor is that the sensitization by the worker was facilitated by the wet and cold conditions of the work environment (irritative factors). Increase in the water content and temperature of the skin increases the rate and extent of dermal absorption of substances. A rise in the temperature of the skin results in vasodilation which allows for the passage of more blood in the dermal layers of the skin resulting in an increase in the transport via diffusion of harmful materials into the body (Shier, Butler, Lewis, 2014, p. 136). When the integrity of the skin surface is compromised or damaged by temperature trauma resulting from wet and cold conditions of the sea food products, scrapes, cuts or bruises due to lack of hand gloves; its ability to serve as an effective protective layer is affected (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, 2013). • 21. Cognitive Theories And Theories Of Psychology INTRODUCTION There are many approaches that psychologists have developed in order to understand certain behavior. The most common approaches in psychology are psychodynamic, behavior, cognitive, humanistic, and biological approaches. The ultimate goal of each method is to help individuals change unhealthy thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. However, these different approaches use different techniques to form assumptions and explanations about abnormality. In this essay, cognitive and psychodynamic are the two approaches that will be discussed. Even though these two approaches have a few similarities, their differences are more obvious. COGNITIVE APPROACH The cognitive theory approach explains that people s thoughts or beliefs form certain behaviors and emotions. This theory was developed in the early 1960s, and it attempts to describe the behavior of humans by studying thoughts and reasoning process (Beck 1995). The automatic thoughts that we have about ourselves can affect emotions and self concept. Also, our global assumptions about other people and the world can be either positive and helpful or negative and destructive (Nolen Hoeksema 2014). For those unfamiliar with heavy metal, it is easy to make this correlation because of the darker and often taboo subject matter present throughout the music. With a little more analysis, however, it can be discovered that these same aspects thought to be negative actually bring forth positive results among metal listeners. What is found in heavy metal music is actually a display of emotions and energy that often have a purging effect which helps listeners of metal cope with the constantly changing world around them. Heavy metal is used as a tool for expressing emotion in a nonviolent way, rather than through physical destruction sought by some other genres. Heavy metal is a lot like an experiment to the people who do not understand it or those who dislike it. They look at it as a disgrace, dissect it, run tests on it, and analyze the results in order to get ammunition to put it down. Researchers from the University of Queensland in Australia have found that when volunteers were exposed to extreme music genres including heavy metal, emo, hardcore, punk, and screamo, they actually experienced a range of positive feelings, such as calmness, happiness or being inspired. The original cost of the Model T when Henry first started producing them was eight hundred and fifty dollars. This may sound very cheap today but this was very expensive in the early nineteen hundreds. With this cost Henry was not impressed and only met half of his goal. Henry tried to meet his goal by creating a chain of conveyer belts to move parts through the factory faster, more efficiently, and at a steady pace. Henry also had a new idea he wanted to try with having only one person perform a single and small task. With Henry having one person per task he was going to need hundreds of people to work, but Henry had no trouble with that because he was paying five dollars a day to the people who worked in his factory. By making these simple adjustments to the way Henry produced the automobiles, it cut the time that it took to assemble them tremendously. The time to assemble a new Model T went from a long twelve and a half hours in nineteen twelve to a very short one hour and a half in nineteen fourteen. This was amazing for Henry but this only brought the price down a little bit, this meant not everyone or most people could afford it. The methodology describes the broad scheme or plan of the research and elaborates the tools of analysis. A methodology or a research design refers to approaches and research strategies, e.g. surveys; questionnaires etc. In a broader context methodology refers to a design whereby, the researcher selects data and analysis procedures to investigate a specific research problem (Cohen, Manion and Morrison; 2008). Gay (1987) indicates that while naturalistic researcher prefer qualitative methods, such as participant observation and in depth interviewing, rationalistic researchers tend to use quantitative methodologies such as random selection of subjects and administration of standardized instruments. While qualitative studies focus on subjective information, such as feelings, experiences or opinions: data that cannot be scientifically quantified. It is important for your people to trust that you have their interests and goals at heart while also laying out clear expectations early on in your command and trusting, yet verifying all parties are meeting expectations. Throughout my life and previous experiences I have witnessed firsthand how cohesive units are when these values are incorporated into leadership philosophies and have also seen how detrimental it is to the unit if they are not incorporated. An additional layer to integrity is that I would never ask of others what I would or could not do myself. Nothing will alienate a follower quicker than a leader who is unwilling to work as hard as or demonstrate that they are willing to get in the trenches with the people they are leading. For my interview, I interviewed a peer who is a squadron commander at Grand Forks Air Force Base, ND4. He stated his most challenging leadership issue came about early on in his command. Within the first six weeks of his command, seven of his Airmen failed their PT tests. One of these failures was an Airman facing a medical evaluation board due to several back surgeries. The commander states he was sympathetic to his situation but he had to remain tough since it was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Breaking In A Glove Essay I was five years old when I first put on a baseball glove. No, scratch that, I was five when I first played baseball. From the time I could open my eyes and look at my dad, I was wearing orange and black SF Giants gear. Once I had a handle on walking, I was learning to throw and catch. As soon I was of age, my dad signed me up for T Ball and he gave me my first real glove. Not a cheap faux leather/polyester mix glove, a genuine, leather glove. I loved that glove, and I held onto it for years. During those years, I grew quite a bit and it was obvious my glove needed to grow too. My dad took me to the local Sport Chalet and we started to look at the different gloves. My dad is a veteran of the sport and we thought we would know which glove would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But any I tried on felt foreign, especially if they were already broken in. My dad and uncle both agree, concluding that the gloves that were broken in had trust from other people already. Breaking in a glove is a recurring rite of passage in a player s career. It s during this time where he becomes acquainted with the glove, which becomes customized to the player. It is impossible to break in a glove the same way as someone else. The shape of and way we move our catching hand, how we sleep on it, what kind of practice balls we take, everything breaks down the leather and molds it to fit its player. It becomes less of an extraneous object and more of a part of him. In this sense, a player s glove can easily be seen as an extension of himself. When my glove tore, my confidence in myself started to tear. When I can t trust part of me, I can t trust the rest of me. Players don t like borrowing gloves because they aren t a part of them. It belongs to someone else and will for years, both in the past and future. Gloves are not simply leather stitched together to protect a hand. They are there to enhance the hand on which they are placed. But they can augment a player s skill, if we put our trust in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Observational Learning Research Paper I enjoyed learning about observational learning, which is what you learn from watching other people. I learned about observational learning at a very young age. Whenever my mother would cook in the kitchen, I would be standing right there just watching how she preformed each task, and yet I learned so much. I even wanted to be a chef at the time because I felt like I could cook anything. Observational learning is definitely will be a benefit to my future goals. I believe I am pretty good at learning this way. When it is time for me to pursue my externship for medical assistant, I will be watching things being done first and then try to mimic exactly what I just saw, so I will be watching closely to try my best to get it right on the first try. ...
