Surface Water Contaminants Case Study
In the surface water samples (lake and mountain samples), there were coliform bacteria contaminants
and nitrate contaminants. More specifically, the lake water sample had coliform bacteria contaminants,
and the mountain water sample had nitrate contaminants. In the groundwater samples (rural, city, and
well samples), there were acidic contaminants, coliform bacteria contaminants, pesticide and herbicide
contaminants, and metal contaminants. More specifically, the rural water sample had pesticide and
herbicide contaminants, the city water sample had acidic and coliform bacteria contaminants, and the
well water sample had metal contaminants. 2. Why might groundwater and surface water have

Interdisciplinary Approach to Teaching Medication Adherence to Pharmacy and Osteopathic Medical
Students
Dana L. Singla, PharmD; George E. MacKinnon III, PhD; Karen J. MacKinnon, RPh; Wisam Younis,
PharmD; Ben Field, DO†
The purpose of this project was to demonstrate to pharmacy and osteopathic medical students the
value of interdisciplinary education through participation in an interdisciplinary medication adherence
project. Each pharmacy student, assuming the role of a pharmacist, was paired with a medical student
acting as a physician with a needlestick exposure requiring HIV prophylaxis therapy. Medical students
were randomized to participate in one of three levels of pharmacist counseling. After completion of ...

Further, medication adherence is especially necessary with antiretroviral therapy, in which a 5% to
20% reduction in medication adherence can result in a 60% virologic failure.21 All health
professionals need to understand the value of each profession toward improving patient outcomes. The
Institute of Medicine suggests that significant improvements in communication among health care
providers is necessary to reduce unexpected medical events.22
Methods
All third year pharmacy students (n 92) and all secondyear osteopathic medical students (n 115) at
Midwestern University were chosen to participate in the interdisciplinary medication adherence
project. Pharmacy education is generally a 4 year professional program to obtain a doctor of pharmacy
degree. However, unique to Midwestern University is a 3year doctor of pharmacy professional
program. Therefore, all

The Cardvascular System
The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast how a toxin will affect the systems in the body
such as the nervous, endocrine and cardiovascular. I will then describe the characteristic that each
system has as the toxins induce its hazardous substance into the corridors of each functional stage of
operation. Lead is considered as one of the most an extremely toxic metal which can be found
anywhere in the world which has the configuration/structure of being a bluish gray shimmering metal
that is somewhat considered as being heavy, soft, flexible, but have the application of being a very
poor conductor for electricity that only occurs or even exist in the core of our earth, but at the same
time is rarely found ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cardvascular System
There have been many adverse health effects of heavy metals, especially lead when dealing with the
cardiovascular system in the human body. The effects of this entity in this system are based upon an
epidemiological in which the process that occur during the glomerular filtration is, therefore, effected
by the lead toxicity, which will then contribute to elevation stages in blood pressure, heart rate dealing
with the rhythm along with the cardiac output in the human body (Jarup, 2003). This long term
aliment will cause a lead induced deficiency in the peripheral nerve therefore, cause chronic changes
in the nervous system.
Unwanted effects that are caused by Lead in the human body (Goyer, 1986) and (Jarup, 2003):

Visiting the National Baseball Hall of Fame Essay
The busts of hundreds of players, managers, coaches, umpires, and baseball pioneers occupy the
hallowed halls of a quiet building located in Cooperstown, New York. Thousands of fans travel to this
building, otherwise noted as the National Baseball Hall of Fame, each year to get a glimpse of
baseball s immortalized heroes. Hundreds of sportswriters across the nation weed out numerous hall of
fame hopefuls once a year and cast their votes on who will be enshrined in Cooperstown and who will
merely be a statistic of the Great American Pastime. These sports writers examine a player or coach s
career with extreme meticulousness. Not one player in the Baseball Hall of Fame is undeserving,

Steroids are Available Cal Ripken, Jr. and Tony Gwynn are two of the newest additions to
Cooperstown. Both men posted impressive, record holding careers; however, they were not
unanimously voted into the hall of fame because they played in an era where steroids were supposedly
present in locker rooms across Major League Baseball. Not once was either player penalized for or
even accused of using steroids. But they are guilty by association and were slapped with the steroid
label. Barry Bonds clearly used steroids prior to or during his remarkable 73 homerun season
considering he averaged just below 40 a year during his career, Right? I don t think so!
One time record holder, Roger Maris rarely hit 30 home runs in a season then busted out 61 in 1961,

undoubtedly using steroids.

President Reag A Leader And Ethical Leader
Ronald Reagan There are no constraints on the human mind, no walls around the human spirit, no
barriers to our progress except those we ourselves erect (Reagan s State of the Union, n.d.). Ronald
Reagan was the 40th President of the United States and took office during a time of economic crisis, a
disorderly foreign policy, and a decline in national morale. When Reagan left office 8 years later, the
economic crisis was over, foreign policy was at an all time high and national morale had been
restored. In this essay I will illustrate how President Reagan was both a visionary leader and ethical
leader in the way he conducted himself throughout his Presidency. I will demonstrate how he used the

President Reagan sought to use team building to devise a cohesive team with US, Soviet Union and
Allied Nations. During these long drawn out treaties the different nations would use the Z Process to
come up with terms and conditions that would ultimately end decades of nuclear impasse. President
Reagan and other political leaders were in constant state of creating, advancing, refining and
executing their ideas. In the Geneva and Reykjavík Summits the allied nation team were not able to
come to decision and instead were stuck in the refining process of their ideas. The summits were still
looked upon as a success as Reagan was moving the team closer to the vision of nuclear abolishment.
It wasn t until the Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Treaty in 1987 where the team was able to
complete the entire Z Process and come to a decisive decision to abolish nuclear intermediate range
weapons. Reagan demonstrated he was a visionary leader by his use of team building while utilizing
the Z Process during treaty talks to come up with a solution to the nuclear stand. His use of
inspirational motivation during these treaty talks to motivate the allied nations to commit to the
common vision once again demonstrates how Reagan was a visionary leader.

The Importance Of Literacy Environment
Literacy Environment
Creating a literacy rich environment is one of the key elements of supporting children s literacy
development. Literacy rich classrooms tend to look quite different than the traditional classroom,
covered in pre made posters and arranged with individual desks in rows, and instead, allow for
teachers to design their classrooms with their students needs in mind. According to an article on the
Sadlier School s blog, all elements in a classroom must be meaningful, intentional, purposeful, and
engaging when creating a literacy rich classroom. This means that classroom design is created in a
way that it provides frequent opportunities to be exposed to text via environmental print, instruction,
and hands on learning as well as encouraging communication and collaboration (Sadlier School,
2017).
The literacy rich classroom environment must be designed with the students needs in mind, meaning it
is student centered with teacher guidance, integrates technology, and is flexible to allow for
differentiation. The classroom should have a flexible design that can be adaptable and easily
changeable based on what the students are working on (Sadlier School, 2017). This means that the
seating arrangement is not based on individual desks, but rather tables or clusters of desks to
encourage students to collaborate and communicate in small groups or pairs, promoting oral language
mastery (Sadlier School, 2017). It should also promote hands on, student centric learning

Risk Management Module Of The Msc Project Management...
1 Executive Summary
1.1 Purpose and Scope
This assignment is included in the 2014 session of the Risk Management module of the MSc in
Project Management course at University of Aberdeen. The main purpose of the assignment is to
demonstrate my understanding of the issues involved in Risk Management and how they are applied
in my current Project environment. The assignment is split in to two questions as detailed below.
Question 1a
Explain the difference between qualitative and quantitative risk management and how each method
can be used to manage a project. Describe one method of each.
Question 1b
Discuss the risk management process presented in the course text (Page 8 of session 1). Apply it to a
specific risk present in your own workplace and pay particular attention to any secondary risks that
may be introduced.
1.2 Methods and Approach
In addition to reading the course notes, I also looked at what APMBOK (Association for Project
Management, Body of Knowledge 2009, 6th Edition, UK) said about this critical area of Project
Management. Additionally, I researched what my Company does to maximize their effectiveness in
this area by studying their attitude towards Risk Management throughout the complete life cycle of a
project, and finally I drew from my own knowledge and experiences in this critical area.
1.3 Conclusions
In conclusion I found my Company has a robust Risk Management system, and this is driven through
the WGPSN Risk Management Procedure, which

Beer Essay
Our trip to the Sierra Nevada brewery in Chico was very enjoyable. It is always nice to take a long
drive to see somewhere you haven t seen before and be able to see new places along the way. It s only
better when you get to do it with some enjoyable people and get to learn a few things about something
as interesting as the process of brewing beer. Over the short duration of our trip I ve a acquired some
funny stories that work by themselves but I m happy that I get to tell them all. Though the drives may
have been long and the gas expensive but I would definitely do it again. Part of my story about the trip

Later as I m driving I figure that the detour to Walmart must have put us far behind everyone else and
we were going to be the last ones there. I though it wouldn t have really mattered but then we get a

because we weren t there to protest. So our little detour did matter. It was a strange feeling once we
got all settled into the hotel room because after such a long drive we felt like were on the road the
entire day and the fact that it was already dark supported that feeling so when we got settled into our
room we felt like going to sleep but we realized that it was only about three o clock. So of course we
couldn t go to sleep then otherwise our sleep schedules would be completely thrown off so we would
just wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to go back to sleep. So after spending a couple
of hours in the room doing whatever we could to kill the time I remember that I have a Buffalo Wild
Wings gift card in my glove department that I ve had for about a year. I figured that now would be as
good of a time as any to use it and it would help us kill some time. So my temporary roommates and I
decided to go to Buffalo Wild Wings even though a couple of us didn t have any money to order

A Treatise On Courtly Love Analysis
The ideas found in Andreas Capellanus A Treatise on Courtly Love have made their mark on the
human psyche since its inception. The treatise defines love as: an inborn suffering proceeding from the
sight and immoderate thought upon the beauty of the other sex, for which cause above all other things
one wishes to embrace the other and, by common assent, in this embrace to fulfill the commandments
of love... (pg. 1). By framing love as an obsessional and insufferable experience, Capellanus renders
those in the midst of worshiping a paramour from afar helpless until their lovesickness is
consummated. Because men and women are programmed to enjoy the act of making love, the text
attempts to contain and formalize love through a systematic explanation of the private and passionate
pursuit of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Francesca strategically utilizes the concept of love, as described by Capellanus, as her alibi. In her
eyes, she is absolved of blame; it was the literature which swept her into a world of love and passion
(this would be equivalent to blaming alcohol for one s actions the other night at the bar). Francesca s
subsequent telling of her placement in hell nonetheless evokes an interesting and varied interpretation.
Despite her sin, perhaps she is hinting at the fact that her brief love affair will in reality last a lifetime
since Paolo will always remain by her side in the second circle of The Inferno. Conversely, she may be
suggesting that her moment of fulfilled passion and desire was well worth the eternal consequence of
displacement and pain. At any rate, what remains true for Dante, and it is well represented in Inferno,
is that the greater one s will is to sin, the deeper into the hellish abyss they fall. While anoesis is the
least willful of sins, it is nevertheless a choice that caused the lustful to be damned for all

A Research on Interaction Design
Within this essay i will be writing about interaction design i will cover my chosen subject in detail via
the extensive research i have gathered. I will define and analyse interaction design using key examples
of this design practise both historical and contemporary.
I have chosen to focus my essay on interaction design as I ve recently finished a project on wave two
witch my final out come was a design/ prototype for an interactive phone application that allowed the
user to get advise on editing there CV in order to improve there chances of getting work. I focused my
design to be simple to use in hope that every user would be able to understand on how to easterly with
out any confusion navigate the app when using it. I have always been aware about interactive ensign
but that was the first time i practised it myself.
from the information i have gathered and what i have know before my definition interaction design is
pretty much built of the basis of graphic design itself you need to have fundamental skills of knowing
how to use the colour theory, typography, follow the grid, point line and form most or even all the
techniques used in graphic design. Where as technology has improved these days interactive design
has never been used so much as it is today. Being used on loads of new interactive devices such as,
tablets computers, net books, phones iPhones blackberries apps, television, ATM machines, computer
games, travel card machines, social networks, blogs,

Research Approach And Inductive Approach
When choosing the research approach, when the selection between deductive approach and inductive
approach both are suitable for the research. Deductive approach is when theory and hypothesis are
built up after reading literature and the testing theory and hypothesis is tested. Inductive approach is
focused on the testing theory. When this theory developed from the analysis of collected data which
depend on building theory (Saunders etal., 2003). So, the chosen method is the deductive approach.
First of all, we started to read the different literature to find the theories of our questions. If we start to

from governments and due to their involvement in wars. For this reason, Hmong people are now

The Funerary Model Of A Pig Sty
Mingqi
For this first paper assignment I have chosen to write my essay on The Funerary Model of a Pig Sty.
This artwork takes place in Ancient China around c. 2nd century BCE. It was designed and used
within the Han Dynasty early in China s history. These clay models like the pig sty and other burial
goods had a hand in furthering the development of Chinas cultural heritage and beliefs. Within this
paper I will be discussing my chosen MIA artwork, works that are similar but different to this artwork,
and also how all three works, although all different, have the same purpose for what they have been
made for. Then finally touching on how the context of the piece can change based on its surroundings.

(MIA) The roofs are separated into four sections on both rooftops. On the square latrine roofs there are
four triangles. While on the rectangular latrine there are two triangles and two trapezoids for the
rooftops shape. I find that this adds to the depth of the roof giving this piece great detail. One can see
this not just in the structure, but also in the details of the animals found in the pigsty model. For
starters when looking around there are seven animals total. They are a boar or male pig, a dog, a sow
who is feeding her three young piglets, and finally a bird. (MIA) In this particular model each animal
is found doing something known for what that animal does in real life. For example the boar is outside
the pen eating slop by himself out of a bowl. While the dog is above the boar on the walkway lazily
sleeping his day away in what could be the hot sun. As one moves along within the piece and looks
inside the pen one can see a sow that is really doing the most work in this model for she is feeding her
three young piglets right in the middle of the pen. This is okay because her and the piglets are the only
four in the pen causing a feeling of calm to the person looking at the work. Finally we move our eyes
up and see a nest with a bird in it. This bird seems to be stretching his wings or cleaning them minding
its own business. All these individual details make up one

Propaganda Techniques Used By Jacques Ellul
1. According to philosopher Jacques Ellul, Propaganda is a set of methods employed by an organized
group that wants to bring about the active or passive participation in its actions of a mass of
individuals, psychologically, unified through psychological manipulation and incorporated in an
organization. (Bytwerk, 3) Methods of propaganda range from films, such as Leni Riefenstahl s
Olympiad and Triumph of the Will, to posters, marches, and sporting events. Propaganda is a means in
which a group can control and win the loyalty of its citizens. However, as Ellul states, it is not merely
a tool to encourage the unification and support of a group of people, it is to call those people to
actively participate in the motives and and beliefs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Propaganda does not allow room for intellectual exchange, rather, it tells people this is the ideology,
policy, or ethical stance they need to hold if they want to be good people, and citizens. In Leni
Riefenstahl s Triumph of the Will, only a strong, unified Germany is presented, with speeches, rallies,
and majestic shots that present a powerful leader at the head of a prideful and perfect nation.
Propaganda is persuasion in that anyone watching the film is surely persuaded to sympathize with the
Nazi party, who are presented as orderly and civilized, yet strong and brave. However, Triumph of the
Will does nothing to persuade skeptical Germans of why they should have supported the Nazi party, or
why Jews were being systematically rounded up. Instead, the film leaves out any actions that could
have been questioned, and provides no actual, concrete reasons for the necessity of the Nazi party and
Hitler s leadership. It only presents Hitler as a strong leader. Propaganda intentionally commits the
shared opinion error. Organizations intentionally assume that every citizen holds the same beliefs and
ideologies as they do, and create propaganda that reflects the views of all citizens . This is a part of the
psychological manipulation that propagandists employ. By presenting the truth they want people to
universally accept as unchallenged and plain fact, they create a sense of inclusivity. If a person has
different viewpoints than what is

his career at age fifteen, starting in Ireland, making his acting debut in the Gate Theater in Dublin. By
eighteen, Welles started to appear in off Broadway productions. It was then that he also launched his
radio career. By age twenty, he had presented alternate interpretations of certain well known plays and
movies. At age twenty two he was the most notable Broadway star from Mercury Theater and, because
of this, BBC radio gave him an hour each week to broadcast whatever he pleased. That s when, at age
twenty five, he broadcast War of the Worlds, which caused panic due to the Martian invasions . By the
time he came into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His Mercury Theater of the Air also set high and new standards for future radio drama productions.
His directing philosophy was that his way was the best way. Welles work was solely self reliant and
dependent on his representation of guise. This style/philosophy contributed to the way modern artists
presently direct their films and movies. He began his most notable movie, Citizen Kane, with multiple
test shots and killed his own character by using a very low angle, as if the viewer was right there,
dead, with his character. Welles loved to introduce his films by starting with mysterious, bleak worlds.
His main goal was to show future directors that deeply focused camera shots, shadows, askew angles,
multiple action points, sound techniques borrowed from radio, and deeply focused shots worked in the
favor of the production.
Orson Welles didn t just impact the filming realm, but, by being an actor himself, showed that he
possessed a very strong standpoint on what an ideal actor was. Orson said that, to him, acting was like
a sculpture. It s what you take away from yourself to reveal the truth of what you re doing that makes
a performance. A performance deserves to be considered great or important. It s always entirely made
up of the actor itself and entirely achieved by what he has left in the dressing room before he came
into the camera s view. There s no such thing as becoming another character by

To be a good citizen you have to put your country and it s success before your own. Which means
being an active member of the community and put time into making it as good as you possibly can.
This can be done by volunteering or by just being there to help others when you re needed but more

Lupus Nephritis Research Paper
Lupus Nephritis
Lupus nephritis causes inflammation of the nephrons, which is caused by systemic lupus
erythematosus (SLE or lupus). The kidney s main function is to remove waste from blood and to
balance the amount of fluids in your body. When inflammation of nephrons occur it makes it harder to
filter the blood and can cause significant swelling. It is an autoimmune disease that causes the immune
system to mistake harmful substances from healthy ones which results in the immune system attacking
the healthy tissues and cells. It is still unknown on how the disease comes about except for these two
assumptions; genetic predisposition and research found on Renal DNase1 enzyme activity. Genetic
predisposition refers to environmental factors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is hyaline thrombus formation in capillaries causing restriction of blood flow making it difficult
to filter blood to urine. The creatinine levels are commonly normal or elevated at this class. This is the
most advanced class of lupus nephritis that results in tremendous protein loss and swelling (Johnson,
2012). There is not cure for lupus nephritis, but can be suppressed with proper dosage of medication.
These kinds of treatments are usually meant to keep the situation from worsening and lessen the
severity. Common treatments involve anti inflammation drugs such as corticosteroids to suppress the
inflammation and immunosuppressive medication like prednisone or cyclophosphamide that can
reduce damage to kidneys (Johnson, 2012). Some patients may require a dialysis to control kidney
failure and to manage certain symptoms from worsening. A kidney transplant may be required
depending on how severe the disease may be. The pro of having a kidney transplant is that the patient
will have full restoration of kidney function, but the con is that patients with active lupus nephritis
may be able to transfer it to the new kidney. Even if it does get transferred to the new kidney it is
rarely to see signs of end classes of the disease. From time to time there may be flare ups that occur
that results in certain symptoms to show. Today, there is still no way to prevent

Working For Inner City Education Foundation Public Charter...
In many aspects of life, it is essential that you work with other individuals as a team. You can work in
a team whether it is school, work, or your personal life. This year I started working for Inner City
Education Foundation public charter schools, specifically ICEF Inglewood Elementary Academy. The
school has approximately 40 staff members that were all placed together by the director of the school.
There are multiple classifications at my job such as instructional assistants, teachers, office staff,
intervention specialists, operations, and janitors, but we all operate as one unit. Through the five
stages of team development, our team developed and continues to develop into a successful team.
Forming Stage: When I first started working for the school in August, I never met any of the people
who would be working at the school along with me. The first day I arrived to work I learned that the
new team I was going to be a part of at ICEF Inglewood Elementary had 96% of new staff. During
this time I realized the team was in the forming stage, we were all getting acquainted and oriented
with each other. The team leaders aided in this stage by providing a breakfast followed by games for
the whole staff. During the breakfast, making conversation I felt the feeling of uncertainty I was not
sure if I would like it or fit in. After breakfast, we played games that were used as ice breakers. The
icebreakers we played began to make me feel comfortable and realize I had a lot in

Disagreements Between North And South America In 1787
Autumn M, Colin H, Brayden C.Harding, Kyle R and Adam C In Philadelphia in 1787, 55 delegates
including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Gouverneur Morris attended the Convention to
improve the Article of Confederation. There, they also discussed the many issues between the North
and South. There were many disagreements between the Northern and Southern states, here are the
two main disagreements. The first disagreement was the Southern states wanted to keep slavery
mostly for their own farms, so they can gain money from the slave labor. The other disagreement was
the North was so against slavery that Governor Morris denounced slavery. He said it was the curse of
heaven . This led up to the fugitive slave clause and it states, a slave who escapes from slavery to a
state where slavery was prohibited, shall be delivered up on claim. The Southern states wanted this so
that their slaves would not run away, the Northern didn t want this because they were against slavery.

easy, but don t be fooled. Click as you turn the key to the right. Afterwards apply pressure to the

coordination the colors together and the hard work I put to manage to save enough money to get the
furniture and decorations this room is once again my favorite room. The first object you will
encounter with would be the object that is set by the entrance door. This object is used to study and to
concentrate on my class work. The object is rectangle shape and the shade of the wood is classic

It is easy to think communicating is simple; however it is usually quite complicated and very easy to
send the wrong message. The two elements in every communication situation are the sender and the
receiver. The sender conveys the idea and the receiver interprets it and usually gives the sender
feedback. Feedback is a powerful tool to communication effectiveness, because it enables the sender
to determine whether or not the receiver correctly interpreted the message. Likewise in this case line
managers haven t been able to express themselves and therefore there hasn t been any feedback
conveyed with the General Manager. A possible cause for this problem is that majority of line
managers employed in India are recent university graduates (World Business Culture, 2012). Now this
is not the problem, the problem is the lack of experience held by these employees compared to the
experience of general managers. And with the way businesses are run in India it is usually a case of
the person with the most experience in the business gets to have the final say (Chakravarty, 2013).
Controlling
The second aspect of management used to investigate the issue is Controlling. Control is a concern
that is facing every manager in every organisation today. Many businesses continually look to improve
relationships between all levels of staff in order for a healthy working environment. To effectively
control a business the organisation requires information about

Moon Landing Conspiracy
The Moon landings during the 1960 s and 1970 s were the largest world events at the time. Millions of
people tuned in to watch them, but many believe that the events never even took place. For decades
conspiracy theorists have been trying to solve the case, believing the Moon landing to be a total hoax.
Statistics show that Americans between 18 24 years old are the largest percentage that believes the
Moon landings did not occur (Why do People Persist in Denying the Moon Landings?). For those who
do not believe in the Moon landings, Apollo 17 astronaut Harrison Schmitt says, If people decide they

On the Moon there is no wind, so therefore the flag should not ripple and wave in space. Conspiracy
theorists believe that this correlates with the T.V. studio conspiracy; they believe that there was a
breeze in the studio making the flag wave (Platoff). NASA planned out the entire situation of planting
the flag into the Moon s surface. NASA wanted to design a simple and easily assembled flagpole
because the astronauts were wearing space suits. The flagpole was designed with a two part
telescoping pole kit with a telescoping crossbar. During the event of the flag being planted it was said,
Armstrong and Aldrin reported few problems with deployment. They had trouble extending the
horizontal telescoping rod and could not pull it all the way out. This gave the flag a bit of a rippling
effect, and later crews intentionally left the rod partially retracted

Discrimination In The Movie, The Blind Side, By Michael Oher
The movie The Blind Side was released in 2009. It is about a young man, named Michael Oher, who
grew up in a poor environment. In the beginning of the movie, Michael was homeless and not
currently attending school. All of that changed when a woman, named Leigh Anne Tuohy, offered
Michael the chance to stay with her and her family. The Tuohy family was well off, unlike Michael, so
it was an adjustment for both the family and him to live together. However, the family was very warm
and welcoming to Michael, which differed from many of the other people Michael encountered. In the
movie, Michael experienced racism, discrimination, and prejudice towards him from a variety of
people. Michael lived in a bad area when he was a young boy. This ... Show more content on

Michael was laying on the ground because he was tackled but after the referee blew the whistle, a
member from the other team kicked Michael in the head. Michael did nothing to react in a threatening
way, he just continued laying on the ground. His couch asked the referee why the other team did not
get a penalty for kicking Michael. The referee then waved his yellow rag and called un sportsman like
conduct for Michael team, despite the fact that they did not do anything wrong. Another example of
discrimination towards Michael on the field was when he was blocking a player on the other team.
Michael did not execute any foul plays, yet the referee s called out his team. The coach asked the
referee what they did wrong and they responded by saying, I don t know... excessive blocking. The
referee s obviously did not have a significant reason for blowing their whistles and they likely would
not have mentioned it if Michael was white. Similarly to real life, people are prejudice and racist
towards people behind their backs too. The movie displays a good example of this. As I previously
mentioned, the Tuohy family had a large amount of money, they even owned multiple chains of Taco
Bell. Due to their money, Leigh Anne was friends with women who were wealthy as well. One day,
Leigh Anne and her friends were eating at an expensive restaurant and while they were waiting on
their food, they began a conversation about Michael. One of the women said Hey, does Michael get

Pig Taphonomic Bodies
A comparison of decomposition patterns in human bodies versus pig bodies and the reliability of pig
taphonomic facilities.
Taphonomy is described as the study of the stages of decomposition that lead to fossilization and it
originates from a subsection of Forensic Anthropology. All over the world there are various
taphonomic facilities, dedicated to the study of decay in both humans and animals, most notably pigs.
These facilities are founded to help Scientists gain an understanding of how human decomposition
progresses in various simulated conditions that are comparable to the conditions found at different
crime scenes. The information gained through this research is vital in enabling Pathologists and
Forensic Anthropologists to make advances in determining the time of death of recovered bodies. This
essay will cover the similarities between human and pig decomposition and consider whether pig
taphonomic facilities are a valid source of data to be used in the place of human taphonomic facilities.

Spider Man Vs Sequels
Sequels vs. Originals: Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider Man
Some movies are too good to stop at one measly movie. Sequels have been around for decades and
will not stop anytime soon. Many movies are so profitable and successful, it makes sense to provide a
sequel to the fan base. Sequels usually come after movies that are raved by many. Sequels are usually
better than the original film as demonstrated by Sam Raimi s Spider man trilogy.
A sequel normally follows a film that has already been successful. Sequels normally improve upon
originals but do not always pan out as well. One advantage of sequels is the fan base is already
acquired; this allows the producers to make a film that pleases the fans because they already know
who they are. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Genetically Modified Organisms By Margaret Atwood
How far is too far when it comes to genetically modified organisms? Margaret Atwood shares her
view on GMOs in Oryx and Crake. Atwood often expresses distaste for these altered organisms
through her examples of pigoons and other genetically modified foods, which are still relatively new
in our society. Despite more commonly occurring dislike from Atwood, she sees a few positives to
GMOs. Although GMOs can increase food supply with higher yields, genetically modified organisms
should be regulated to a certain extent for the sake of society s overall wellbeing. Because there has
not been enough long term testing on GMOs to detect possible problems, everyone s health could be
suffering. There are few laws regulating genetically modified organisms due to the fact that they have
not been around for a long time. No long term testing has been concluded, therefore there is no
scientific conclusion when it comes to the safeness of genetically modified organisms. Compared to
other countries, the United States regulations on GMOs is relatively favorable towards their
development. According to the Library of Congress, a series of polls conducted from 2001 to 2006
found that the publics understand of biotechnology technology, which produces these genetically
modified foods, was relatively low, and that consumers were relatively unaware of the extent to which
their foods included genetically modified ingredients (United States). Sixty four countries around the

AQUATIC PLANT SURVIVAL Do aquatic plants survive better by themselves or with the presence
of fish? Introduction Aquatic plants are plants that, overtime, have adapted to living submerged in
water, whether it be saltwater or freshwater. These plants are also referred to as hydrophytes or
macrophytes. All aquatic plants can only grow in water or soil that is always saturated with water and
commonly associated with wetlands. (Cook, 1974) Some principal factors in controlling the
distribution of the plants include duration of flooding, depth, nutrients and salinity. Water dwelling
vascular plants can be divided into ferns or angiosperms (including both monocots and dicots).

The Message in Shrek Essay
The Message in Shrek
In traditional fairy tales, ogres are man eating beasts, the Prince rescues the Princess and they live
happily ever after. How do the makers of Shrek use presentational devices to reverse this tradition,
revealing the ogre as good, the Prince as evil?
In traditional fairy tales, the story begins Once upon a time and the general story line is a happy one.
Fairy tales are designed for small children so they can t be violent or contain swearing etc.
Snow White is a traditional fairy tale in which the evil queen tries to kill her but a prince rescues her, a
typical stereotype fairytale layout.

Also the camera shots also show Donkey and Shrek together. In the fight Shrek doesn t want to fight
and offers to settle it over a pint but later decides to pummel them. From this the audience can tell that
Shrek is in favour of peace but doesn t mind the odd brawl with the baddies.
Later Shrek meets and rescues Princess Fiona as ordered by lord Farquaad. When they first meet
Fiona is expecting a kiss as she lays ready (this is in reference to sleeping beauty) for a kiss but Shrek
shakes her awake this suggests Shrek is not the traditional type as the film isn t either. When Fiona
queries why Shrek hasn t slain the dragon he says that it is on his to do list which says Shrek has a
sense of humour even in life threatening situations.
At the beginning of the film, Shrek tries to threaten the characters he meets. There are characters that
are not affected by his appearance these being Princess Fiona, Donkey and the fairy tale creatures that
squat in his swamp at the beginning of the film. Although Shrek an ogre the audience accepts him as a
good guy.
In contrast to Shrek, lord Farquaad is a small and nasty character and shows no remorse throughout
the film. There is a scene where lord Farquaad is interrogating the ginger bread man truing to find the

Zane Goodridge and today I ll be analysing the song of hope and revealing the messages within it .
This poem, by Aboriginal poet Kath Walker, also known as Oodgeroo, is about how she believes that
things are becoming better, and for this trend to continue, Aborigines and Australians alike need to
trust each other. In order for you to understand the rest of the speech, I will now present a reading of
the poem. Look up, my people; the Dawn is breaking; The world is waking; To a bright new day.

After continued reading of the poem it became clear that Kath had a much more powerful message
hidden behind the explicit meaning of the poem. She feels that the past is yet to be properly amended
and that it needs to be before the Aborigines and European descendants can move forward. This is
reflected especially in Stanzas 2 and 3. In stanza 2 the lines Now brood no more and The hope
assigned you shows that there was clearly some kind of destiny that was less then looked forward to in
each aboriginal individual. In Stanza 3, there is a much larger presence of this message. With lines like
So long we waited; bound and frustrated; till hate be hated; and caste deposed. Provides an insight into
Aboriginies having to wait in pain until something was done about their lives and opportunities.
Though it seems that Oodgeroo does believe that things are getting better, she acknowledges that the
aboriginal people were not always the best treated and that she believes that things should be formally
amended before things can become better for all, regardless of

The visitor s center supervisor is a salary job which scale depends on the person s amount of
education, years of experience, qualification and credentials required for the job. For the wait staff an
hourly pay rate depends on their experience and starts at $2.13 and goes up to $5.75 an hour. A benefit
package will also be included affordable medical including vision, dental and optional cancer. There

History Of The Delian League
In my perspective, the Delian League was both successful and unsuccessful, but were by and large
more successful than not.
The Delian League was mutual alliance and protection against the Persians after the first Persian War,
mainly to make the Persians pay for the invasion and to free the Greeks that were under Persian rule
(Gill, 2016, 2). All members of the League contributed both silver and ships to the war efforts, but it
was Athens that dominated (Brand, n.d., pp. 28). With Athens leading with a strong naval military, the
Delian League pushed back the Persian s second invasion of Greece and were able to liberate Thrace
and the Aegean of Persian strongholds (Gill, 2016, 11).
Although the Delian League was successful in holding off the Persian invasions, Athens had taken
advantage of their naval military might. To this extent, the formation of the Delian League was
unsuccessful. The members of the Delian League grew tired of Athens abusive power, which
eventually led to the Peloponnesian War led by Sparta against Athens. The eventual result of the war
devastated and humbled Athens (Brand, n.d., pp. 28). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was a common judiciary which was always to the reach of the member citizens of the Athens.
They ensured that this form of government was accessible to the Aegean. Above all, there was an
extensive rebuilding of the Athen s buildings and the entire city. This was started by the Pericles and
Parthenon whicg the League treasury financied.
‎
In conclusion, I found that the formation of the Delian League was more successful than not. Together,
all members, led by Athens navy, were able to benefit from pushing off the Persian invasions, which
also resulted in some city states being liberated from Persian rule. The only ones that were
unsuccessful later on were the Athenians, which was the result of their own abusive actions.

Downtown Without Birds Research Paper
Downtown without birds is like a tree without roots you wonder what is holding it up if anything is
holding it up I couldn t imagine downtown without birds you expect to see them especially pidgeons
they are the bravest birds especially in downtown there not scared of anything they wait till the last
moment to fly away if they do even decide to do that while your driving and they are in the middle of
the street they are so bold they will come up to you and just stare at you like you are out of place and
its there town your just walking by or passing by. For the most part they are friendly I have personally
never seen one attack anyone which is good but the other half of me wouldn t mind seeing it at all just

other land but the moment the sun shines its face on the buildings the pidgeons are up and ready for a
new day. I m sure Houston isn t the only place pidgeons like to call home but every city is different. I
cant say that I have seen pidgeons on the outskirts of downtown like in town outside of Houston its
like they are only attracted to big buildings and a lot of people with noisy cars and special

International Hospitality Industry Has Been Affected By...
Introduction In the past few years, international hospitality industry has been affected by globalisation,
revolution of information technology, fragmentation of customer demand, and the emergence of
economic integration of supplier in the networks. Globalisation means a process to reduce the barriers
between one country to another (Brotherthon, 2003). Hence, it is a critical issue in the industry where
the essence of the product is international and the encounter with the customer is intercultural. The
hospitality industry has often been called as people business (Downling et al., 2008). Therefore,
Human Resource Management (HRM) plays a crucial role in the industry as it understands the human
aspects on the organisation. HRM deals with people in the organisation how to manage their
behaviour and activities in order to increase the organisation s profit. It has the function in the
organisation to focus on recruiting the management and providing directions for the people in the
organisations. Moreover, it deals with issues related to people, such as performance management,
hiring, wellness, benefit, safety, compensation, training, and communication (Hayes Ninemeler, 2009).
HRM is one of the phenomenon which has property to change under globalisation effect. It is both and
academic theory and business practice. From the HRM perspective, an international hospitality
industry is a caricature, where in reality derived from the local management structures,

The Importance Of Lancelot In Malory s Morte D Arthur
Malory explicitly links Tristram and Lancelot in their desire for the unattainable and their
correspondence as contemporaries confined to new ideas presented as high treason. Elizabeth Kay
Harris describes the changes the textual alterations signify in her 1995, Evidence Against Lancelot and
Guinevere in Malory s Morte D Arthur: Treason by Imagination . By using a background of law, she
argues that the process in Tristram demonstrates the inverse of Lancelot and represents a uniquely
English reading of the two. However, Lancelot admires Tristram until he weds a woman other than
Iseult the Fair. Capellanus argument should allow these relationships to work, as long as, singular
attachment does not form the goal. Both men overstep Capellanus ramifications, finding themselves
falling from their lord s graces and ostracized from society. With these warnings in mind, book VII,
Lancelot and Guinevere, sees the public behavior of Guinevere shame Arthur after the knights return
from the quest for the Holy Grail. Lancelot tries to break off ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The structure of Guinevere s adultery showed direct alteration in the English translation to avoid direct
description of an English queen s sexuality and political agency. Though sexual liberty ebbed over the
previous time, the literature of the courtly love movement ensured the sanctity of noblewomen s
bodies as they held the ultimate choice in partner selection. Without this decisive power, male
courtiers regained power in relationships and regulated women s involvement in their affairs. As a
result, Guinevere loses her autonomy in her courtship with Lancelot and only survives through
inaction and silence allows her to escape. Guinevere s narrative shows the secularization of the female
body and opens the opportunity for equality in punishment for crimes of high

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Pope Urban II
Pope Urban II delivers a touching an inspiring speech that is meant to highlight the importance of
trusting in God in one attempt to overcome their challenges. The pope delivers the message at a time
when there is turmoil and the country had been subjected to chaos to misunderstanding by the kings
and rulers at the time. In his speech the religious leader employs a prayer in their attempt to convince
their followers to embark of the dangerous journey and rescue what belongs to them based on the
motivation of bible scriptures.
One motivation that the pope uses in luring Christians into the idea of fighting in the holy land is
based in the fact that God has given them power unlike other nations to defeat their enemies (Jan). In
his speech, Urban II also mentions their uniqueness in the ability to possess courage, and humility
means that their God favors them and they do not need to worry as they plan to tackle and overcome
the enemy in war. In the motivational speech, the pope further reminds the city members that they
need to be aware that God is with them and they should not worry in the battle (Jan). ... Show more

Urban II states that it is written in the holy books that if they forsake their earthly materials and
relatives for the name of their God, they will be blessed abundantly. He asserts that Christians need to
learn to forego all belongings including those that they treasure dearly in their loves especially when
he refers to leaving family members for the glory of God s name. In concluding his remarks, the Pope
states that the word of God not only needs Christies to forego their belongings but they also have to
realize that their bodies are worthless too and they should murder and devour each other for the name
of God

Loose Change Documentart Response
On September 11, 2001 the United States became ground for numerous terrorist attacks, killing many
innocent Americans. One of the attacks included the crashing of United Airlines Flight 93. The plan
crashed at 10:03 A.M into a field in Shanksville Pennsylvania at 580 mph. It was Boeing 757 that held
37 passengers and 7 crew members that all were killed from the crash. The flights path was originally
suppose to fly from Newark, New Jersey to San Francisco, California, until four Muslim Hijackers
took control of the plane and were headed toward Washington D.C (Avery). The passengers were
frightened for their lives and several were able to make phone calls to their families to say their last
goodbyes before the crash. When the passengers were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They don t understand how is debris from the plane crash could have been able to travel that far from
the impact with out being struck by something before it crashed. They give three examples of historic
plane crashes such as, Turkish Airlines Flight 981, Air India 182, and Japan Flight 123. All three
crashes left behind a good size of wreckage, numerous bodies and one, Japan Flight 123, even
managed to have 4 survivors (Avery). So how does a Boeing 757 and all its passengers completely
disappear they ask. Then they go on to show the reports that no jet fuel was left behind in water or soil
from the department of environmental protection. They also questioned how that could have been
possible when the plane crashed with 5,000 gallons or 37,500 pounds of jet fuel. Lastly the
documentary states the fragile items that were left behind, such as a red bandana, the hijacker s driver
s license, passports, and a Marriot hotel card from the flight attendant. They overall conclude that
there was no way a 757 could have crashed on that day. They claim it had to have been a smaller plane
shot down as a cover up and that the original plane landed somewhere safely. Another source from
BBC news argues differently. They say there are clear pictures that show airplane wreckage and that
the cockpit voice recorder showed that the passenger tried to regain control of the plane. They also

Personality And Psychodynamic Models Of Personality
Over the variation of the project, subject A has been tested over three different models of personality.
Each one provided different points to her personality and allowed for the most in depth explanation of
the subject s personality. Each of these models are also capable of acting as a check and balance for
the other. For example, between the trait and psychodynamic models. One could compare the results
from the Big 5 and how that matches to the Myers Briggs since essentially those gave similar
feedback. Once those are both taken accounted for, these could give rise to a more accurate basis for
the biological model, which is mainly inferred and not factual in the first place. The most prominent
trait across the trait and psychodynamic models was the strength of A s introversion. In both of the
personality tests taken, this was usually one of the results that was very striking. When she was first
introduced to the result of her extraversion during the Big 5 test, only a 17, she was incredibly
surprised with the data and slightly appalled. Although she knew that was never the life of the party,
she would have hardly categorized herself as introverted. However, after reading the characteristics of
introversion, she came more to terms with the result and embraced her newly discovered trait. This
helped her to answer more accurately on the Myers Briggs which showed that she scored a 92 in
introversion. These two comparable scores allowed for an almost definitive agreement

Ode On A Grecian Urn Essay
Essay on Ode on a Grecian Urn
In John Keats s poem Ode on a Grecian Urn, the reader is given descriptions of the urn. The urn is old
and Keats is acting as the interpreter of the urn. This essay will argue that the poem Ode on a Grecian
Urn conveys the idea that art shows an idealized human existence that cannot be achieved by humans.
In stanza two, John Keats introduces the scene of two young lovers on the urn to show idealized love.
There is a young man and woman on the Urn. The young man is listening the young woman sing.
Keats descries her voice: Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard are sweeter; ... Her singing is
sweeter than any human can imagine. Thus the scene on the urn has a better vocal ability than humans
despite being mute; meaning that art shows a better human existence. Later on in the stanza Keats
states: Through winning near the goal yet, do not grieve; She cannot fade, through thou has not thy
bliss, For ever wilt thou love and she be fair! In these lines, the young man doesn t have bliss because
bliss would be catching the girl. The bliss part will only last a short period, and is not as powerful as
the emotions right before the catch. Thus the young man should not be sad that he doesn t have bliss
because he will forever love her and she will forever be beautiful. In the human world love ends and
people grow old. The scene on the urn will always show love, and the people will never grow old.
Thus art has the ability to last; therefore the

I will then describe the characteristic that each system has as the toxins induce its hazardous substance into the corridors of each functional stage of operation. Lead is considered as one of the most an extremely toxic metal which can be found anywhere in the world which has the configuration/structure of being a bluish gray shimmering metal that is somewhat considered as being heavy, soft, flexible, but have the application of being a very poor conductor for electricity that only occurs or even exist in the core of our earth, but at the same time is rarely found ... Thousands of fans travel to this building, otherwise noted as the National Baseball Hall of Fame, each year to get a glimpse of baseball s immortalized heroes. Hundreds of sportswriters across the nation weed out numerous hall of fame hopefuls once a year and cast their votes on who will be enshrined in Cooperstown and who will merely be a statistic of the Great American Pastime. Steroids are Available Cal Ripken, Jr. and Tony Gwynn are two of the newest additions to Cooperstown. Both men posted impressive, record holding careers; however, they were not unanimously voted into the hall of fame because they played in an era where steroids were supposedly present in locker rooms across Major League Baseball. Not once was either player penalized for or even accused of using steroids. But they are guilty by association and were slapped with the steroid label. Barry Bonds clearly used steroids prior to or during his remarkable 73 homerun season considering he averaged just below 40 a year during his career, Right? I don t think so! One time record holder, Roger Maris rarely hit 30 home runs in a season then busted out 61 in 1961, to take the home run crown from the Sultan of Swat, Babe Ruth. Why is it possible for Roger Maris to have a once in a lifetime, dream season, yet when a modern athlete has one he was undoubtedly using steroids. Ronald Reagan was the 40th President of the United States and took office during a time of economic crisis, a disorderly foreign policy, and a decline in national morale. When Reagan left office 8 years later, the economic crisis was over, foreign policy was at an all time high and national morale had been restored. President Reagan sought to use team building to devise a cohesive team with US, Soviet Union and Allied Nations. During these long drawn out treaties the different nations would use the Z Process to come up with terms and conditions that would ultimately end decades of nuclear impasse. President Reagan and other political leaders were in constant state of creating, advancing, refining and executing their ideas. In the Geneva and Reykjavík Summits the allied nation team were not able to come to decision and instead were stuck in the refining process of their ideas. The summits were still looked upon as a success as Reagan was moving the team closer to the vision of nuclear abolishment. It wasn t until the Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Treaty in 1987 where the team was able to complete the entire Z Process and come to a decisive decision to abolish nuclear intermediate range weapons. Reagan demonstrated he was a visionary leader by his use of team building while utilizing the Z Process during treaty talks to come up with a solution to the nuclear stand. Literacy rich classrooms tend to look quite different than the traditional classroom, covered in pre made posters and arranged with individual desks in rows, and instead, allow for teachers to design their classrooms with their students needs in mind. According to an article on the Sadlier School s blog, all elements in a classroom must be meaningful, intentional, purposeful, and engaging when creating a literacy rich classroom. This means that classroom design is created in a way that it provides frequent opportunities to be exposed to text via environmental print, instruction, and hands on learning as well as encouraging communication and collaboration (Sadlier School, 2017). The literacy rich classroom environment must be designed with the students needs in mind, meaning it is student centered with teacher guidance, integrates technology, and is flexible to allow for differentiation. The classroom should have a flexible design that can be adaptable and easily changeable based on what the students are working on (Sadlier School, 2017). This means that the seating arrangement is not based on individual desks, but rather tables or clusters of desks to encourage students to collaborate and communicate in small groups or pairs, promoting oral language mastery (Sadlier School, 2017). The treatise defines love as: an inborn suffering proceeding from the sight and immoderate thought upon the beauty of the other sex, for which cause above all other things one wishes to embrace the other and, by common assent, in this embrace to fulfill the commandments of love... (pg. 1). By framing love as an obsessional and insufferable experience, Capellanus renders those in the midst of worshiping a paramour from afar helpless until their lovesickness is consummated. Because men and women are programmed to enjoy the act of making love, the text attempts to contain and formalize love through a systematic explanation of the private and passionate pursuit of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Francesca strategically utilizes the concept of love, as described by Capellanus, as her alibi. In her eyes, she is absolved of blame; it was the literature which swept her into a world of love and passion (this would be equivalent to blaming alcohol for one s actions the other night at the bar). Francesca s subsequent telling of her placement in hell nonetheless evokes an interesting and varied interpretation. Despite her sin, perhaps she is hinting at the fact that her brief love affair will in reality last a lifetime since Paolo will always remain by her side in the second circle of The Inferno. Conversely, she may be suggesting that her moment of fulfilled passion and desire was well worth the eternal consequence of displacement and pain. At any rate, what remains true for Dante, and it is well represented in Inferno, is that the greater one s will is to sin, the deeper into the hellish abyss they fall. • 20. The Funerary Model Of A Pig Sty Mingqi For this first paper assignment I have chosen to write my essay on The Funerary Model of a Pig Sty. This artwork takes place in Ancient China around c. 2nd century BCE. It was designed and used within the Han Dynasty early in China s history. These clay models like the pig sty and other burial goods had a hand in furthering the development of Chinas cultural heritage and beliefs. Within this paper I will be discussing my chosen MIA artwork, works that are similar but different to this artwork, and also how all three works, although all different, have the same purpose for what they have been made for. (MIA) The roofs are separated into four sections on both rooftops. On the square latrine roofs there are four triangles. While on the rectangular latrine there are two triangles and two trapezoids for the rooftops shape. I find that this adds to the depth of the roof giving this piece great detail. One can see this not just in the structure, but also in the details of the animals found in the pigsty model. For starters when looking around there are seven animals total. They are a boar or male pig, a dog, a sow who is feeding her three young piglets, and finally a bird. (MIA) In this particular model each animal is found doing something known for what that animal does in real life. For example the boar is outside the pen eating slop by himself out of a bowl. While the dog is above the boar on the walkway lazily sleeping his day away in what could be the hot sun. As one moves along within the piece and looks inside the pen one can see a sow that is really doing the most work in this model for she is feeding her three young piglets right in the middle of the pen. This is okay because her and the piglets are the only four in the pen causing a feeling of calm to the person looking at the work. Finally we move our eyes up and see a nest with a bird in it. This bird seems to be stretching his wings or cleaning them minding its own business. All these individual details make up one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 21. Propaganda Techniques Used By Jacques Ellul 1. According to philosopher Jacques Ellul, Propaganda is a set of methods employed by an organized group that wants to bring about the active or passive participation in its actions of a mass of individuals, psychologically, unified through psychological manipulation and incorporated in an organization. (Bytwerk, 3) Methods of propaganda range from films, such as Leni Riefenstahl s Olympiad and Triumph of the Will, to posters, marches, and sporting events. Propaganda is a means in which a group can control and win the loyalty of its citizens. However, as Ellul states, it is not merely a tool to encourage the unification and support of a group of people, it is to call those people to actively participate in the motives and and beliefs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Propaganda does not allow room for intellectual exchange, rather, it tells people this is the ideology, policy, or ethical stance they need to hold if they want to be good people, and citizens. In Leni Riefenstahl s Triumph of the Will, only a strong, unified Germany is presented, with speeches, rallies, and majestic shots that present a powerful leader at the head of a prideful and perfect nation. Propaganda is persuasion in that anyone watching the film is surely persuaded to sympathize with the Nazi party, who are presented as orderly and civilized, yet strong and brave. However, Triumph of the Will does nothing to persuade skeptical Germans of why they should have supported the Nazi party, or why Jews were being systematically rounded up. Instead, the film leaves out any actions that could have been questioned, and provides no actual, concrete reasons for the necessity of the Nazi party and Hitler s leadership. It only presents Hitler as a strong leader. Propaganda intentionally commits the shared opinion error. Organizations intentionally assume that every citizen holds the same beliefs and ideologies as they do, and create propaganda that reflects the views of all citizens . This is a part of the psychological manipulation that propagandists employ. By presenting the truth they want people to universally accept as unchallenged and plain fact, they create a sense of inclusivity. If a person has different viewpoints than what is ... His Mercury Theater of the Air also set high and new standards for future radio drama productions. His directing philosophy was that his way was the best way. He began his most notable movie, Citizen Kane, with multiple test shots and killed his own character by using a very low angle, as if the viewer was right there, dead, with his character. Welles loved to introduce his films by starting with mysterious, bleak worlds. His main goal was to show future directors that deeply focused camera shots, shadows, askew angles, multiple action points, sound techniques borrowed from radio, and deeply focused shots worked in the favor of the production. Orson Welles didn t just impact the filming realm, but, by being an actor himself, showed that he possessed a very strong standpoint on what an ideal actor was. Orson said that, to him, acting was like a sculpture. It s what you take away from yourself to reveal the truth of what you re doing that makes a performance. Atwood often expresses distaste for these altered organisms through her examples of pigoons and other genetically modified foods, which are still relatively new in our society. Despite more commonly occurring dislike from Atwood, she sees a few positives to GMOs. Although GMOs can increase food supply with higher yields, genetically modified organisms should be regulated to a certain extent for the sake of society s overall wellbeing. Because there has not been enough long term testing on GMOs to detect possible problems, everyone s health could be suffering. There are few laws regulating genetically modified organisms due to the fact that they have not been around for a long time. No long term testing has been concluded, therefore there is no scientific conclusion when it comes to the safeness of genetically modified organisms. Compared to other countries, the United States regulations on GMOs is relatively favorable towards their development. According to the Library of Congress, a series of polls conducted from 2001 to 2006 found that the publics understand of biotechnology technology, which produces these genetically modified foods, was relatively low, and that consumers were relatively unaware of the extent to which their foods included genetically modified ingredients (United States). Introduction Aquatic plants are plants that, overtime, have adapted to living submerged in water, whether it be saltwater or freshwater. These plants are also referred to as hydrophytes or macrophytes. All aquatic plants can only grow in water or soil that is always saturated with water and commonly associated with wetlands. (Cook, 1974) Some principal factors in controlling the distribution of the plants include duration of flooding, depth, nutrients and salinity. Water dwelling vascular plants can be divided into ferns or angiosperms (including both monocots and dicots). (Hutchison Edmondson, 1957) When the aquatic plants in a water way ... How do the makers of Shrek use presentational devices to reverse this tradition, revealing the ogre as good, the Prince as evil? In traditional fairy tales, the story begins Once upon a time and the general story line is a happy one. Hi, I m Zane Goodridge and today I ll be analysing the song of hope and revealing the messages within it . This poem, by Aboriginal poet Kath Walker, also known as Oodgeroo, is about how she believes that things are becoming better, and for this trend to continue, Aborigines and Australians alike need to trust each other. In order for you to understand the rest of the speech, I will now present a reading of the poem. Look up, my people; the Dawn is breaking; The world is waking; To a bright new day. When none defame us; Nor restriction tame us; Nor colour shame us; nor sneer dismay. Now brood no more; on the years behind you; the hope assigned you; shall the past ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After continued reading of the poem it became clear that Kath had a much more powerful message hidden behind the explicit meaning of the poem. She feels that the past is yet to be properly amended and that it needs to be before the Aborigines and European descendants can move forward. This is reflected especially in Stanzas 2 and 3. In stanza 2 the lines Now brood no more and The hope assigned you shows that there was clearly some kind of destiny that was less then looked forward to in each aboriginal individual. In Stanza 3, there is a much larger presence of this message. With lines like So long we waited; bound and frustrated; till hate be hated; and caste deposed. Provides an insight into Aboriginies having to wait in pain until something was done about their lives and opportunities. Though it seems that Oodgeroo does believe that things are getting better, she acknowledges that the aboriginal people were not always the best treated and that she believes that things should be formally amended before things can become better for all, regardless of ... • 41. History Of The Delian League In my perspective, the Delian League was both successful and unsuccessful, but were by and large more successful than not. The Delian League was mutual alliance and protection against the Persians after the first Persian War, mainly to make the Persians pay for the invasion and to free the Greeks that were under Persian rule (Gill, 2016, 2). All members of the League contributed both silver and ships to the war efforts, but it was Athens that dominated (Brand, n.d., pp. 28). With Athens leading with a strong naval military, the Delian League pushed back the Persian s second invasion of Greece and were able to liberate Thrace and the Aegean of Persian strongholds (Gill, 2016, 11). Although the Delian League was successful in holding off the Persian invasions, Athens had taken advantage of their naval military might. To this extent, the formation of the Delian League was unsuccessful. The members of the Delian League grew tired of Athens abusive power, which eventually led to the Peloponnesian War led by Sparta against Athens. Introduction In the past few years, international hospitality industry has been affected by globalisation, revolution of information technology, fragmentation of customer demand, and the emergence of economic integration of supplier in the networks. Globalisation means a process to reduce the barriers between one country to another (Brotherthon, 2003). Hence, it is a critical issue in the industry where the essence of the product is international and the encounter with the customer is intercultural. The hospitality industry has often been called as people business (Downling et al., 2008). Therefore, Human Resource Management (HRM) plays a crucial role in the industry as it understands the human aspects on the organisation. HRM deals with people in the organisation how to manage their behaviour and activities in order to increase the organisation s profit. It has the function in the organisation to focus on recruiting the management and providing directions for the people in the organisations. Moreover, it deals with issues related to people, such as performance management, hiring, wellness, benefit, safety, compensation, training, and communication (Hayes Ninemeler, 2009). The Importance Of Lancelot In Malory s Morte D Arthur Malory explicitly links Tristram and Lancelot in their desire for the unattainable and their correspondence as contemporaries confined to new ideas presented as high treason. Elizabeth Kay Harris describes the changes the textual alterations signify in her 1995, Evidence Against Lancelot and Guinevere in Malory s Morte D Arthur: Treason by Imagination . By using a background of law, she argues that the process in Tristram demonstrates the inverse of Lancelot and represents a uniquely English reading of the two. However, Lancelot admires Tristram until he weds a woman other than Iseult the Fair. Capellanus argument should allow these relationships to work, as long as, singular attachment does not form the goal. Both men overstep Capellanus ramifications, finding themselves falling from their lord s graces and ostracized from society. A Rhetorical Analysis Of Pope Urban II Pope Urban II delivers a touching an inspiring speech that is meant to highlight the importance of trusting in God in one attempt to overcome their challenges. The pope delivers the message at a time when there is turmoil and the country had been subjected to chaos to misunderstanding by the kings and rulers at the time. In his speech the religious leader employs a prayer in their attempt to convince their followers to embark of the dangerous journey and rescue what belongs to them based on the motivation of bible scriptures. One motivation that the pope uses in luring Christians into the idea of fighting in the holy land is based in the fact that God has given them power unlike other nations to defeat their enemies (Jan). In his speech, Urban II also mentions their uniqueness in the ability to possess courage, and humility means that their God favors them and they do not need to worry as they plan to tackle and overcome the enemy in war. The urn is old and Keats is acting as the interpreter of the urn. This essay will argue that the poem Ode on a Grecian Urn conveys the idea that art shows an idealized human existence that cannot be achieved by humans. In stanza two, John Keats introduces the scene of two young lovers on the urn to show idealized love. There is a young man and woman on the Urn. The young man is listening the young woman sing. Keats descries her voice: Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard are sweeter; ... Her singing is sweeter than any human can imagine. Thus the scene on the urn has a better vocal ability than humans despite being mute; meaning that art shows a better human existence. Later on in the stanza Keats states: Through winning near the goal yet, do not grieve; She cannot fade, through thou has not thy bliss, For ever wilt thou love and she be fair! In these lines, the young man doesn t have bliss because bliss would be catching the girl. The bliss part will only last a short period, and is not as powerful as the emotions right before the catch. Thus the young man should not be sad that he doesn t have bliss because he will forever love her and she will forever be beautiful. In the human world love ends and people grow old. The scene on the urn will always show love, and the people will never grow old. Thus art has the ability to last; therefore the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
