enforcement officers. Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, John Crawford III, Eric Garner and countless
others. The aftermath: the officers who murdered the unarmed men have either been acquitted or
there was no indictment. What happened in Ferguson is years, if not decades in the making.
African Americans are simply tired of having to bury friends and family and discovering the
officers, meant to protect the law and serve the people, are killing black lives and are almost
always found not guilty.

was, I would have given a synopsis of the story detailing the actions and characters in it. As I have
come to learn, theme is much more than a distilled retelling of a story. Theme gives a story a
deeper meaning. The theme focuses the story and is the behind the scenes force that propels the

description on the woman, this adds to furthering the theme of the journey in the story. The
woman is no longer a live and therefore she doesn t need a body. It is clear from the symbols
pointed out by the woman that she is leading us on this journey. As the character reaches the end
her journey, we as the reader does as well. Rhys layers the symbols at the end of the story so the
reader begins to rapidly connect the dots in there meaning.

According to Cuppett and Walsh (2012), common areas where cancer of the breast originates are
in the breast ducts and lobules (p. 214). These two areas of the breast are involved in the
movement of milk to the nipple. Multiple lobules create a lobe which then transports breast milk
to the ducts where the milk then can be moved to the nipple (Cuppett Walsh, 2012). Also, Cuppett
and Walsh discussed that three major types of breast cancer are described on the basis of their
location of origin and histology (p.214). These three major types of breast cancer are lobular
cancer, ductal cancer, and inflammatory breast cancer (Cuppett Walsh, 2012). When diagnosed with
breast cancer a patient may have received a mammography or self examination.
Diagnosis
There are different signs that can indicate to an individual that they may have breast cancer. During
the self examination some signs are: nipple discharge, inverted nipple, change in shape or size of
breast, change in appearance of skin, or a lump/mass is felt during palpation (Cuppett Walsh, 2012,
p.216 217). Then during a mammography a mass maybe seen and this can indicate the location and
size of the tumor with the breast (Cuppett Walsh, 2012). Once the mass is seen then testing can be

Novum Organum, written by Francis Bacon, focused on how to hypothesize during experiments.
Bacon suggested that it is idle to expect any great advancement in science from super inducing and
engrafting of new things upon old. Bacon also emphasized the fact that only referencing arguments
on past experiments was pointless. By only viewing past experiments, it was impossible for
scientists to develop more in their new experiments. The combination of viewing both types of
experiments, new and old, was a major part of inductive reasoning. Descartes focused more on
deductive reasoning compared to Bacon. Rene aspired to create a new system of truth through

knowledge unless it was clearly true. Another one of his methods was to isolate each part of
everything he examined to avoid bias. Descartes found through his methods that deductive
