There comes a point in time when the best choice isit to just grow up. After all, eEverything grows.
People grow, and plants grow, and our knowledge grows. Tas well as theories grow and the population
grow and the dependency we have on the world we surly embody grows. Hello, I am my name is
Shylee Baertich, a proud FFA member whose homeuse is surrounded by nothing, but acres and acres
of crops. Which indeed, grow. So, I ve always been surrounded by everything agriculture and yet, I
have noticed when going to the city, skylscrapers growning out of the urban concrete fields. also
growing with something new: the trendy greenhouses growing vertically skyscrapers. I ve also heard
the bickering about our limited amount and potential use of the land, and as an FFA members we have
been taught that by weyou already know that by 2050 agriculturist will need to produce enough food
to feed 9.7 billion people (www.fao.org). Our population is only ever growing and it seems like our
land acres continues tois shrinking. However, as agriculturist yearn for innovative tactics they ve have
realized that the best choice it to just grow up.So perhaps our best choice as innovative agriculturalist
is to just grow up. In 2014, Dickson Despommier, had an idea that would forever change the way we
will envision farminged. Instead of traditionally farming horizontally, plants would rather be stacked
upon one another in a vertical form and do what plants do best...grow up! (www.verticalfarms.com)

Boston Massacre Happened
What Really Happened at the Boston Massacre It was a cool night in Boston in early march. I was
passing by the customs house while a group of boys began to yell and hollering at some British
soldiers. As the boys continued the soldiers began to fluster, so much to the point that he strikes one of
the boys with his rifle. And as soon as I can blink, I was in the middle of a crowd surrounding the
soldier. As the crowd grew, more soldiers came to his side. The crowd started to get out of control so
one of the soldiers picked up his musket and fired into the crowd and so his allies followed suit with
one of the musket shots nearly missing me. All of the citizens run in all directions and the crowd
nearly trampling children. I returned home and later discovered that the soldiers were placed under
house arrest and soon after taken to jail and charged for the death of several people. As things heated
up in court, more and more British soldiers arrived in Boston. They did this to bring peace to Boston
but it did not do that it all. It did the exact opposite and caused even more chaos. And as chaos spread

I focused on the locations they mentioned, specifically around the town house and King street because
they seem to have the most eyewitness backing. They I focused on a few different little details. Like
the number of soldiers that witnesses say shot somebody. Then I focused on what was said. Witnesses
say that they heard a soldier with their back to them say Fire . For the people I didn t believe. I just felt
that some of their key points were just too far off the facts that were trending between some of the
other people. I know that there is several people that I do not have on wither list and that s because I
felt that I didn t have enough information to definitely say who goes on

In this Essay I will explore the Proposals put forward by the UK government in the 2011 Vickers
Report as well as exploring the proposals I will then give an in depth analysis in how effective the
methods put forward are; in terms of how successful they are in ensuring financial stability within the
current economic climate. Furthermore I will examine how these proposals are being enforced by UK
law to achieve practical outcomes, as theoretical tools do not always work as imagined in real life
scenarios.

Due to there not being any ring fencing restrictions with the Banks that associated with Lehman

There is a discussion with retail ring fencing and its location within a firm. How do you separate
certain operations within the same firm? Because of this the commission set key principles within the
proposal to help align the ring fence within a Bank.
Mandated services: services which have a high economic cost if not performed at any point in time
and where the customer does not have an alternate provider. The economic cost for interruptions in
these services are high because customers need these to function in an economy by having liquid
assets (most likely cash) for day to day needs. Such services are provided by the Government when
the private market fails and so are held in high regard. Isolation of mandatory services is used to
provide authorities confidence in the retail banking system over the protection of creditors funds. By
ring fencing retail banking activities, the UK authorities will be able to protect the payments system
without having to insure the high risk products (Banking, finance, and the role of the state, n.d.).

The Mediterranean Diet Of Food Essay
If you ve ever talked to somebody after they ve traveled to a country such as Italy or Greece, they
probably mentioned how delicious the food was. Food is one of the more common affiliations with
countries that surround the Mediterranean Sea; and understandably so. The food this region produces
is so notable that there is a diet based off it, companied with endless research elaborating the health
benefits it accommodates. Fittingly named The Mediterranean Diet, this compilation of foods
including fish, fruits, vegetables, beans, high fiber breads, whole grains, nuts, olive oil and red wine
are targeted to help prevent a number of diseases as well as promote health in different sectors of the
body. This essay will touch upon each component, benefit, and precaution of the Mediterranean diet,
in depth, all with a main focus on the nutritional factors.
When I introduced the Mediterranean diet, an image probably popped into your head of some
beautiful assortment of food in relation to those parts of the world. The Mediterranean diet
incorporates a fulfilling variety of foods while moderating some of the most craved, but negatively
impactful components of our regular diet. One point of emphasis in the diet is consumption of fruits
and vegetables; some of the most recommended including grapes, blueberries, and starchy vegetables
such as cauliflower and chickpeas. A standout component of this diet is its affiliation with the
prevention of certain cancers; this has been linked to

Debt To Gdp Ratio Analysis Paper
Debt to GDP Ratio as an Indicator of Economic Health
A government has expenses in the US this includes everything from pens and pencils, to welfare
checks, medicare and medicaid, social security, military expenses, funding for schools, investment to
build new highways every dollar our government spends is part of the nations budget. Some of this
spending is discretionary how many pencils to buy this year or how many new tanks or guns but much
of it is determined by policy and considered to be automatic in nature. Specific criteria are in place
that determine who qualifies for welfare or social security and although that policy can change, it is
changed through a legislative process that can take quite a bit of time.
A government has revenue and in the case of the US government, income is primarily in the form of
taxes. Income tax, payroll tax, property tax, sales tax, as well as taxes on corporations and their
profits. There are some nations with state owned businesses that may also generate revenue perhaps
through transportation or the sale of natural resources. A federal budget is considered to be in balance
when revenues and expenditures are equal.
When a government has more revenue than it does expenses, it is considered to be a surplus and more
commonly, when a government spends more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to service it s debt that has led to recent concerns, not the total of it s debt and it is the ability of the

All these are the basic focuses of department. 1.2.2 High Efficiency Irrigation Systems
In crop production the irrigation water is the most critical factor to enhance its productivity and also
effective use of other non water inputs. There is inefficient use of available resources in agriculture
field in Punjab province and on other hand Punjab is encountering severe shortage of irrigation water
from many decades. It is causing much lower agriculture productivity while Punjab is highly
productive resource base of Pakistan. High efficiency irrigation systems (HEIS) resulted in finding
water and nutrient efficient options and most appropriate ways to address various crop production
related issues.
1.2.3 Types of HEIS
There are number of High efficiency irrigation system methods such as bubbler , drip , rain gun, center
pivot , conventional sprinkler all these methods involve use of pipes for carrying water from the
source to points of use. Small emitters in form of droplets are being used in drip or trickle irrigation
which provide water to individual plants without causing waste of water. Bubbler irrigation is as well
similar to trickle irrigation the difference is only that instead of pipe in this form of system we use
micro sprinklers mounted on small spikes. Only in rain gun irrigation system water is being pumped at
high pressure via piped system and then after sprayed over the field.
Drip Irrigation System the highly water efficient

The Great American Victory Described in Robert Remini s...
Robert Remini tells the readers in The Battle of New Orleans that he wishes to educate his audience of
the hard hitting times our soldiers endured in this remarkable battle that made America the strong and
independent country it is today. It is important to Remini to depict the heroic feats of Andrew Jackson
who became a symbol of what was best in American society (Remini xi) because of his great
leadership and determined heart.
The Battle of New Orleans was a great victory for America, during the War of 1812. What made it so
glorious wasn t just the bloodshed or the hard work, but it was that the British Army was of only
superb soldiers, generals, and nothing less. The things that the British endured and the distance that

Henry Clay, John C. Calhoun, and the Warhawks decide to take action and pressured President James
Madison into asking congress to declare war against Great Britain (6).
With plans to go after the principal towns and commercial sites the British composed a three pronged
invasion aimed at the Chesapeake Bay area, such as Washington; New York State; and Louisiana.
Major general Robert Ross went into Washington and burned down the white house and the beloved
streets of justice. After many battles on both sides the two finally met up on New Orleans grounds.
The night of December 23 the British had nearly captured [Jackson s] artillery , Jackson had moved
deep into British areas getting closer to a victory, and after about two hours, the British had 46 men
killed, 167 wounded, and 64 missing and the Patriots lost 24 killed, 115 wounded, and 74 missing or
captured. The men captured by the British were lawyers, merchants, and inexperience soldiers. The
British found this very amusing that we had so many untrained soldiers but, this just proves that when
fighting for freedom and beating back and invasion of their homeland anyone can achieve great
success. (79 80).
Once again the British thought they were victorious, but they were quickly proven wrong with
Andrew Jackson s brilliant plan of a sneak attack in British territory. This was completely unexpected
and stalled the British for a couple of days. He then stopped the invasion saving New Orleans of

When I initially found out that I was interviewing Josh for my one to one I wasn t too stoked on the
idea. I was a bit worried that our session together might not be as personal as I would like and that he
would find it hard to open up because of our differences. I originally asked him to meet me at the
Minnesota International Student Association (MISA) lounge on the second floor of Coffman Union.
MISA is a space specifically catered to International students and multi cultural students so I assumed
it would be different from what Josh might be accustomed to. When Josh arrived at the MISA lounge
the room was occupied by a student group event, so I took him to the room right next door, the Asian
Student Union lounge. By the way Josh looked around the room, I could tell that he was a little
uncomfortable by the Asianess of the room, so I asked him if he would rather do the interview
somewhere else. He replied back that he was fine with the space so we carried on with our 1 on 1.
To begin with, I asked Josh to tell me his story and share some significant moments in his life. It was a
very vague question and I didn t expect much contend from his answers. He began with the very
nonspecific details about his childhood growing up in Woodbury, MN and how lived a very normal
life. He talked about how he participated in soccer, baseball and hockey and how sports kept him
occupied while growing up. I felt that he wasn t sharing much so I asked him the question again about

Race And Hybridity In The Falcon
Race and Hybridity in Saga Book One
Fantasy literature in the twentieth and twenty first centuries often use the construction of new races as
a mirror through which to see the human race more clearly. Categorizations of fantasy have tended to
avoid discussions of race, in part because it is an uncomfortable gray area since fantasy literature does
not yet have a clear taxonomy. It was not until the 1960s that audiences saw their first black character
in The Falcon. In the years after that, characters of different races were few and far between. Comic
authors felt far more comfortable discussing America s racial turmoil using an all white cast of
mutants, rather than diversifying and risking their books get panned altogether. Nevertheless, ... Show

Florida s Role In The Civil War Essay
The Civil War began on April 12, 1861, in Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor after the Confederate
artillery struck the Fort ( Florida s Role in the Civil War ). After President Lincoln became the
President of the United States, eleven states formed as Confederate states to separate themselves from
the United States. The reason why those states separated from the United States was that they did not
agree with President Lincoln s decision to try to end all slavery. The Confederate states wanted to keep
slavery going. Those eleven states were Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana,
Texas, Arkansas, Virginia, and North and South Carolina. The rest of the United States were called the
Union, even though there were some people that lived within the Confederate States that did not
condone slavery and there were some people who lived in the Union states who did condone slavery.

Tyranny In The United States Essay
The United States democracy is an effective system of government carefully crafted by the founding
fathers to ensure that nobody can gain too much power over the rest. When the founding fathers were
drafting the constitution they were referring to a person or a group when referring to Tyranny .
Unfortunately tyranny has arisen in the United States, but not in the way anyone expected, race has
become a form of tyranny. The tyrannical white majority has been a large influence in the United
States ever since inception and have been substantially prevalent around events in the US like
reconstruction, civil rights movement, and the election of the first african american president of the
united states. Many have identified and have tried to counteract the problem of tyranny of the white
majority, but to no avail. Democratic reform like the Voting rights act, civil rights act, brown v board
of education, and the election of president obama have failed to help counteract the problem of
tyranny of the white majority seen in the United States. The tyranny of the white majority doesn t have
one specific definition, but it is ever prevalent in society. The definition has been reformed over time
with changing times. The tyranny of the white majority is a system of oppression in the us government
where the whites in the united states have stronger influence over laws and the general government
giving the minorities less power in the government. This has been seen in the

Compare And Contrast Canadian Culture Vs American Culture
Canadas s culture is in many ways very similar to our culture in the United States. This in part due to
our proximity to one another. However despite the similarities of our two countries there is some very
distinct differences between the two. We as Americans make several misconceptions about the large
country to our north, which are made out of ignorance. Such as the Title of this essay. In this essay I
will provide you with some brief history about Canada and its establishment. As well as elaborate on
many key characteristics, holidays and demographics of that make up what it is to be a Canadian. The

The largest ethnic demographic of the Canadian population are either English Canadian or French
Canadian, making up a staggering 80% of the population of Canada. Most of the French Canadians
located mostly in Quebec can trace their lineage back to the first French colonial families. After whiles
the second largest ethnic group is Asians. Making up four percent of the population many of these
people migrated to Canada for their willingness to work for low pay in dangerous conditions for the
construction of the Canadian Pacific Railroad. Blacks make up three percent of the population and are
Canada s largest minority. Many of these people are fairly recent immigrant families from Africa or
the Caribbean, but there is a small minority of black Canadians that can trace their roots to the
millions of African Slaved imported during the era of the Slave trade. Canada has taken the stance that
everyone is equal, and because of this multi culturalism has thrived within the large country over the
past 4 decades. Their brand of multiculturalism does not impose a burden to assimilate into idealized
norms of what a Canadian is. The country which was once 97% white back in 1981, It now welcomes
roughly 300,000 immigrants a year 80% of those are non white immigrants. Of course there is still

The Hidden Driver Of Excellence
A Summary of Chapters Three and Four in Focus: The Hidden Driver of Excellence by Daniel
Goleman
(450) Chapter Three: Attention Top and Bottom
In this chapter, Goleman (2015) defines the important differences in the way the brain functions in
order to focus on a particular object or event. The neurological function of the brain defines why there
is a bottom up mind and top down mind that operates when discerning between differing focus
orientation. In this way, Goleman (2015) identifies the bottom up mind as being much faster in
deciphering perceived threats or challenges as an involuntary focus: Faster in brain time...involuntary
and automatic (Goleman 25). In contrast to this faster mindset, Goleman (2015) the top down mind is
much slower, which provides a voluntary attention span that can analyze an event or situation through
focus. In this manner, Goleman (2015) is really talking about the involuntary and voluntary
neurological functions of the brain that identify the differing aspects of focus that a human possesses.
This is an important part of this chapter that allows the reader to understand the brain s ability to
discern between two differing focuses options.
Another important aspects of the bottom up and top down approach that human beings tend to be
reactionary by relying too much on their involuntary focus. Therefore, the bottom up method tends to
be a driving force in concentration, which can be problematic if it is not analyzed and checked

briefly summarized the project results at the EOP (End of Project) without comparing them with
expected outcomes. In the same scale, this TER will rate the project s outcome as Moderately
Satisfactory based on the evidence presented by the Final PIR (PIR 2014), which shows that some
progress has been made for reaching all of the project targets, but majority of targets were not
achieved 100%. A comparison of the project s achievements against the targets of its indicators is
presented below: (PIR 2014, p.4 53)
The project s Immediate Objectives are:

(ii) To establish effective models for community based management of endemic ruminant livestock
and its habitats at project sites, and strengthen production, market, and policy environment in support
of theses breeds (GEF)
There are 7 indicators under the project immediate objectives. By the EOP all of the indicators partly
reached or were on the track for fully reaching their targets.
Indicator 1 was the levels of household food security as measured by a household dietary diversity
score (HDDS). The target was at least 20% increase by project end from baseline levels. The target
was 50% achieved. According to statistics available by the EOP: the level for Gambia declined around

To start, I chose to write about Soda in S. E. Hinton s novel, The Outsiders, because he is the character
that seems to pull the Curtis family together. In addition, his attitude towards his share in life inspired
me. Even though Soda grew up with so little, he still enjoys life and what he has. In fact, another
reason I chose Soda is because I can relate to some of his many traits. A few of them being

The Fourth Amendment And Fifth Amendment
The three amendments that are used to protect the rights of those accused of a crime include, the
Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment. The Fourth Amendment protects the right of people to be secure
in their persons, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures. (Peak, 2015, p.181).
The Fifth Amendment protects the accused against self incrimination, double jeopardy, and life,
liberty, and property. Meaning no person will be forced to be a witness against themselves, they
cannot be tried for the same offense twice, and their right to life, liberty, and property are protected
under the law. (Peak, 2015, p.193). The Sixth Amendment is the right to counsel. Any person who is

this illustrates the growth and maturation of each cast members over the 12 year period of producing

How Great Is The Great Gatsby Really Great
Justin Phan

Academic English II
12 November 2017
The Not So Great Gatsby Many things are called great such as food or a football team, but what is the
true meaning of greatness? What are characteristics that one person or thing must have to be
considered great? In The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the word great is used to describe the
characters and even things, but when analyzed these great things or people are actually quite the
opposite. Jay Gatsby, whom the story is centered around, is a young, wealthy, and charismatic young
man with a mysterious background. In The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jay Gatsby is labeled

Gatsby has thrown a party to which he invites Daisy, he believes she didn t like the party and thinks
she has been more distant towards him. I m going to fix everything just the way it was before, he said,
nodding determinedly. She ll see (Fitzgerald 110). Gatsby has this love crazed obsession with Daisy
which has caused him to fixate on bringing back the past, as well as causing him to use up his wealth
just to win her over. The day after one of Gatsby s parties, Nick is invited to take a ride in Gatsby s
hydroplane, during the drive Nick listens as Gatsby tells the story of his life. I ll tell you God s truth.
His right hand suddenly ordered divine retribution to stand by. I am the son of some wealthy people in
the Middle West all dead now. (Fitzgerald 65). Gatsby is one not to be trusted for, even though he
made an oath saying that he would tell Nick the truth, he tells a blatant lie. He says all his family is
dead, but the truth is he still had a father. One who makes an oath to do something, but does the

Magnet School Group Analysis
1. How well did your team balance the four group personalities? Which personalities were present in
your group? Specifics?
My group consisted of me my, my friend, and my roommate. We were able to balance personalities
fairly well. This may be due to the fact of having arguments about various topics before. My
roommate would be a communicator facilitator. He has been homeless in his lifetime this caused him
to be sympathetic to students with personality and social issues. My friend would be a collaborative
inventor. He understood the big picture of choosing the students with the absolute best chance of being

We all took time to read each students case and formulate our own opinions and ideas before bringing
them before the group. Each group was giving all the time they needed to prepare there discussions.
We were able to reach consensus by listening to the opinions and feels and arguments of all other
group members. We actively listened to each other point of view. After each group member spoke we

After discussing the topics were able to come to a consensus to allow students 1, 3, and 6 into the
school. We were able to agree on the fact that the students with the highest chance of success should
be allowed into the school. This would be based on the student s track record and whether they
possess positive mental and social state of mind. We agreed that well rounded students who were
already self determined stood a good chance of maximizing their potential in the school. My
roommate originally wanted to accept students with social issues. Eventually we all came to the

Distracted Driving Law
Due to the many car crashes from driving while using electronic devices, Oregon issued the Oregon
Distracted Driving Law, which took effect in the beginning of October. It prevents the use of
electronic devices that require you to take your eyes or hands away from the wheel. However, why did
this law have to be made? What events occurred to make the government to even think they need to
regulate this? One sunny day on a Houston road, the driver of a pickup truck collided with a church
minibus. 13 people died, and the driver admitted he was texting and driving. Yet this happens very
often. Over 330,000 car accidents happened from texting while driving in 2015. Distracted driving is

Operational Failures Occur Within Organizations Across All...
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Operational failures occur within organizations across all industries, with
consequences ranging from minor inconveniences to major catastrophes. How can managers
encourage frontline workers to solve problems in response to operational failures? In the
manufacturing industry, the setting for this study, operational failures occur due to an internal
constraint which is the over use of one major machine. Using data reported from both the production
and sale teams, the researcher found that problem solving in response to operational failures is
influenced by both the downtime posed by the constraint and the extent to which the organization
incurs a lost. Findings can be used by the organization to increase the management awareness of the
extent to which downtime affects the operation process and ways by which improvement can take
place.. Key concepts include: Operational failures that trigger more financial and liability risks are
associated with more break down of the machine. By communicating the importance of problem
solving and engaging in problem solving themselves, line managers can stimulate increased problem
solving among workers. Even without managers regular engagement in problem solving,
communication about its importance can promote more problem solving among workers. By
explaining some of the variation in responsiveness to operational failures, this study empowers
managers to adjust their approach to stimulate more problem solving within the

Practical Considerations Examining the practicality of the group parameters is paramount to
delivering the most effective treatment possible. 1. The counseling group is a closed group, as the
formation of bonds, trust, and process of the shared experience is more vulnerable to being disrupted

This chapter shows the results from both quantitative and qualitative research methods. This research
is implemented by completing questionnaires by secondary school teachers and students. The
questionnaires were completed by 200 teachers and 144 students. Also, four secondary school teachers
(from private and public secondary schools) participated in the qualitative research method (semi

The purpose of this chapter is to present the data collected from both research methods, give analyses
the data and discuss the result.
4.2 THE FINDINGS AND DATAANALYSIS FROM INTERVIEWS
The interviews involved four teachers, two from private secondary schools while the other two were
of public schools. Two teachers taught ICT in their respective schools, one taught chemistry and the

The environment stores just around 2% in view of its little heat limit. The surface can just assimilate
heat gradually in light of the fact that it is a poor heat conductor. In this manner, heat consumed by the

Difference Between Tourism And Culture
Tourism and Culture
Tourism is one of the links for an individual to visit the particular country to explore and experience
the cultures different from one s own. Every culture has their own unique culture, by opening doors
for other countries to visit, it allows other people to learn more about the culture and spread the culture
to other people. It also allows the country itself to be aware of other people s cultures and learn from
each other. Allowing globalization and better relationship with other countries. One of the most
common links is the culture between westerners and Asian countries as their cultural beliefs are
different from each other. Asian embraces unity while westerners embrace individualism. The best
time to introduce tourism is before the festival holidays, where people often wear their traditional
clothes and celebrate their festivals according to their traditions. Such as Chinese celebrate Chinese
New Year and give offerings to their gods to request for blessing and peace for the coming years. This
is a perfect opportunity for other tourist to witness this event to allow maximum exposure experience

  • 4. Boston Massacre Happened What Really Happened at the Boston Massacre It was a cool night in Boston in early march. I was passing by the customs house while a group of boys began to yell and hollering at some British soldiers. As the boys continued the soldiers began to fluster, so much to the point that he strikes one of the boys with his rifle. And as soon as I can blink, I was in the middle of a crowd surrounding the soldier. As the crowd grew, more soldiers came to his side. The crowd started to get out of control so one of the soldiers picked up his musket and fired into the crowd and so his allies followed suit with one of the musket shots nearly missing me. All of the citizens run in all directions and the crowd nearly trampling children. I returned home and later discovered that the soldiers were placed under house arrest and soon after taken to jail and charged for the death of several people. As things heated up in court, more and more British soldiers arrived in Boston. They did this to bring peace to Boston but it did not do that it all. Because of this the commission set key principles within the proposal to help align the ring fence within a Bank. The economic cost for interruptions in these services are high because customers need these to function in an economy by having liquid assets (most likely cash) for day to day needs. Such services are provided by the Government when the private market fails and so are held in high regard. Isolation of mandatory services is used to provide authorities confidence in the retail banking system over the protection of creditors funds. I was a bit worried that our session together might not be as personal as I would like and that he would find it hard to open up because of our differences. I originally asked him to meet me at the Minnesota International Student Association (MISA) lounge on the second floor of Coffman Union. MISA is a space specifically catered to International students and multi cultural students so I assumed it would be different from what Josh might be accustomed to. When Josh arrived at the MISA lounge the room was occupied by a student group event, so I took him to the room right next door, the Asian Student Union lounge. By the way Josh looked around the room, I could tell that he was a little uncomfortable by the Asianess of the room, so I asked him if he would rather do the interview somewhere else. He replied back that he was fine with the space so we carried on with our 1 on 1. To begin with, I asked Josh to tell me his story and share some significant moments in his life. Categorizations of fantasy have tended to avoid discussions of race, in part because it is an uncomfortable gray area since fantasy literature does not yet have a clear taxonomy. It was not until the 1960s that audiences saw their first black character in The Falcon. In the years after that, characters of different races were few and far between. Comic authors felt far more comfortable discussing America s racial turmoil using an all white cast of mutants, rather than diversifying and risking their books get panned altogether. Tyranny In The United States Essay The United States democracy is an effective system of government carefully crafted by the founding fathers to ensure that nobody can gain too much power over the rest. When the founding fathers were drafting the constitution they were referring to a person or a group when referring to Tyranny . Unfortunately tyranny has arisen in the United States, but not in the way anyone expected, race has become a form of tyranny. The tyrannical white majority has been a large influence in the United States ever since inception and have been substantially prevalent around events in the US like reconstruction, civil rights movement, and the election of the first african american president of the united states. Many have identified and have tried to counteract the problem of tyranny of the white majority, but to no avail. The Hidden Driver Of Excellence A Summary of Chapters Three and Four in Focus: The Hidden Driver of Excellence by Daniel Goleman (450) Chapter Three: Attention Top and Bottom In this chapter, Goleman (2015) defines the important differences in the way the brain functions in order to focus on a particular object or event. The neurological function of the brain defines why there is a bottom up mind and top down mind that operates when discerning between differing focus orientation. In this way, Goleman (2015) identifies the bottom up mind as being much faster in deciphering perceived threats or challenges as an involuntary focus: Faster in brain time...involuntary and automatic (Goleman 25). In contrast to this faster mindset, Goleman (2015) the top down mind is much slower, which provides a voluntary attention span that can analyze an event or situation through focus. In this manner, Goleman (2015) is really talking about the involuntary and voluntary neurological functions of the brain that identify the differing aspects of focus that a human possesses. This is an important part of this chapter that allows the reader to understand the brain s ability to discern between two differing focuses options. Another important aspects of the bottom up and top down approach that human beings tend to be reactionary by relying too much on their involuntary focus. Therefore, the bottom up method tends to be a driving force in concentration, which can be problematic if it is not analyzed and checked ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Fifth Amendment protects the accused against self incrimination, double jeopardy, and life, liberty, and property. Meaning no person will be forced to be a witness against themselves, they cannot be tried for the same offense twice, and their right to life, liberty, and property are protected under the law. (Peak, 2015, p.193). The Sixth Amendment is the right to counsel.
