Blues Music In Toni Morrison s The Song Of Solomon
Toni Morrison bases the novel off of blues music. The song of Solomon is based
on an old blues song about Sugarman. Morrison uses blues music to name her
characters, such as Milkman s best friend Guitar , which is a principal instrument
in blues music. The way Guitar criticizes black women counteracts the stereotypical
criticisms which Morrison, the female blues singer is suggesting. As a novelist
Morrison takes on the role as a blues singer to write how folklore can make for a
better future for her people, she also writes about the traditional male and female
roles of African American people in the blues era. A common model that Morrison
uses in the novelto show the lifestyle of her people are men who fly away and leave

Not only does she save him from his father s aggression while his mother, Ruth, was
pregnant with him, but it is her African smells, tastes, and spiritualism which
captures his curiosity and brings back his memory. Milkman s unraveling of his
family history rests on him figuring out the folksong Pilate sings at his birth. When
Pilate sings about Sugarman flying away, she is telling and African folklore story
about how men leave their women behind to sing the blues. Morrison s attention to
storytelling traditions reflects specific aspects of women s role in African culture;

In the twenty first century it s apparent that in every aspect of life is the most

competitive it is impossible to ignore the correlation of the heighten of IQ over this

where exactly the foundation of this process started. The competitively I have been

he has a wife and children of his own, he is known to be a famous wine taster.
Therefore, he always wants to prove that he is a better wine taster than Luchesi, who

Kung Xiu s Stereotypes
Toot! Toot! A train came to a halt in Anhui, China, and a small Chinese women
stepped off, instantly smelling the aroma of dirty, polluted air. She lived in a part
of town where only one child per family was allowed, so, dropping off her newly
born baby to be left abandoned was the only option she had. As she hopped back
onto the train to head back home, the baby was left stranded, wailing and crying. It
was early, the sun was rising. A group of Asian men were strolling by when they
stopped because they heard the baby s bawling noises. They took her up and
brought her into care before dropping her off at a local orphanage. Her name was
Kung Xiu, this means sunrise in English. Each day she stayed at the orphanage, it
got duller and duller. There was nothing for the babies to do. They spent the
majority of their day sleeping or lying on their beds. The other parts they would eat
when they were hungry or drink when they got thirsty. The orphanage in China
wasn t all that great, it was unsanitary and smelly but it was a place for them to live
until they were given a home. But by the time the girls got old enough, they would

Franklin D Roosevelt The Smartest
Franklin D. Roosevelt was the 32nd president of the United States. He would be
elected four times, serving from 1933 to 1945. He would go down in history as one

darkest days of its history. Roosevelt was born on January 30, 1882 in New York. His
family was wealthy, making their fortune from real estate. Growing up, he was
surrounded by tutors and prominent community figures. He lived a privileged
childhood, being much more fortunate than the people that would later come to elect
him president. He went to a prestigious prep school in Massachusetts, but he didn t

Is The Great Gatsby Relevant Today
Begin considering what you believe to be the book s most important theme
exploring the reasons the topic would have resonated with readers when the book
was first published. Is the topic still relevant today? If so, why? If not, why not? I
think it s still relevant to today because the American dream is still unattainable.
People come to this country for a better life and they still get treated bad. Also people
think that that s the ultimate goal in life but it s not.

Illiteracy In America Essay
The Critical Problem of Illiteracy in the U.S. and Solutions to the Problem
Frederick Douglass once said, Once you learn to read, you will forever be free
(Cardoza, 2013). Millions of U.S. adults do not possess basic reading and writing
skills, and may be deemed illiterate or functionally illiterate . Illiterate means unable
to read or write at all and functionally illiterate means that one does not possess
sufficient reading and writing skills to function successfully in today s society
(Conover, 2009). Those who are illiterate and functionally illiterate are unable to
perform tasks as simple as reading a bus schedule or writing a check (Conover,
2009). Not knowing how to read could cause a person stress, embarrassment, or even
loss of a job. Adult illiteracy is a critical problem in the United States that can be
solved through education, innovation, and dedication.

States today, it has been a problem since the creation of the country. When the...

While not all of the aforementioned tasks would be considered absolutely basic ,
such as calculating the cost of carpeting a room, the problem still exists: millions of
Americans cannot perform many simple tasks to function in everyday life. 1996
reports showed that 27 million U.S. adults were in need of help with their literacy
skills (Chaddock, 1998). However, 1998 reports showed that more than 40 million
American adults can barely locate the time or place of a meeting on a form , a
number that is much lower than the one reported in 1993 (Chaddock, 1998).
Chaddock also reported that American businesses lose nearly $60 billion yearly due
to workers lacking literacy skills

These strategies are of significant value to how the organization looks at the long

Difference Between Classroom Learning And Online
Learning
Bishnu Khatiwada Classroom learning vs online learning Development in the
education sector has given people many choices of learning to meet their
educational goals. The current and popular systems of learning are classroom
learning and online learning. I used to think all ways of learning are the same,
until I had taken a couple of classes and had to overcome some challenges
classroom learning and online learning are different in terms of support network,
quality of peer interaction, decision making, and success Having a support network
is a useful tool for achieving success. Many students cannot succeed in learning
because they face challenges of finding the right resources that are available to
them. There are many resources available on campus and they are organized in such
a way that they are easy to access like campus tutoring centers for different subjects,
reading club, on campus library, and different student organizations that are available
to assist them. For example, whenever students have trouble understanding any
course material, they have an opportunity go to the tutoring center and seek help.
However, it is very hard to get those resources available to leaners who take online
courses. Whenever students have trouble understanding the assignment, they need to
rely on email conversations to solve the problem and don t know when their teacher
is going to get back to them. It can be very frustrating. One of my friends shared his
experience taking an online course for math, and it was very difficult to understand
the course materials with tutorials video. He told me about his experience stocking in
the middle of the assignment was approaching was huge problem to overcome and
maintain grade. Quality peer interaction is important for all human beings, cannot
imagine life without any interaction. Classroom can be good place to meet a new
people from diverse backgrounds, even from a different culture. Meeting people we
can share common interest, learn about new culture
The Hepatitis C Virus
Acute viral hepatitis is the most common form of infectious hepatitis. There are five
distinct viruses types A, B, C, D, and E. Diagnostic markers of viral hepatitis include
elevation of aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, gammaglutamyl
transferase, white blood cell count, and prothrombin time.
Hepatitis C is an infectious disease that primarily affects the liver, caused by the
Hepatitis C virus (HCV).
The cause of HCV, is a spherical, enveloped, single stranded RNA virus belonging
to the Flaviviridae family and Flavivirus genus. The natural targets of HCV are
hepatocytes and, possibly, B lymphocytes. Lauer and Walker reported that HCV is
closely related to hepatitis G. HCV can produce at least 10 trillion new viral particles

Lichen Planus
Lichen Planus (LP) is a chronic inflammatory cutaneous disease that frequently
involves oral mucosa. Common symptoms are oral pain or a burning sensation,
especially with acidic or spicy foods. Symptoms are often irrespective of the clinical
presentation. There is evidence of an association between HCV and Oral Lichen
Planus (OLP); however, this varies by region and further studies are needed to fully
confirm the relationship.
Diagnosis of OLP should involve a referral to a trained clinician in oral medicine or
maxillofacial surgery. The principles behind treatment of OLP are symptom
management, immune modulation, monitoring and education. Treatment of OLP is
usually reserved for disease that is symptomatic. Topical corticosteroids are normally
the main choice of treatment for OLP.

Conflict Values In Social Work
The Road of Conflicting Values In a social work profession there are professional
values and then there are personal values. These personal values tend to be the
ones that are instilled in humans as children and ones that were accrued over time
with age. Values vary from person to person, many have the same if not similar
and others do not. Social worker s, on a daily basis have to work with clients that
have different values than us, but how do they do that without compromising the
assistance you provide the client? Some social workers, as Jerry Diller (2015)
states, are, . . . unaware of one s own prejudices and how may be communicated
inadvertently to clients (Pg. 3). Some may not even realize that they have a
conflict of values with their client. Being competent about your personal values is
also an essential part of being a social worker. When a social worker knows they
are experiencing a conflict with their values the real question is how a person
navigates through these treacherous waters that could possibly drown a person?
How does a professional continue to help a client even with conflicting values in the
midst of so many other issues? These questions are not a onetime situation, this will
occur more as the professional progresses in the helping profession. There are many
different approaches to resolving an ethical dilemma that a professional is
experiencing. One method discussed by authors Valutis and Rubin (2016) is, . . . vast

Evolution Theory and Christian Faith

1 . HISTORY OF THE EMERGENCE OF THE THEORY OF EVOLUTION
The roots of evolutionist thinking appears contemporary with dogmatic belief that try
hard to deny creation . The majority of the pagan philosophers in ancient Greece
defended the idea of evolution . If we look at the history of philosophy , we will see
that the idea of evolution has sustained many pagan philosophy .
But not this ancient pagan philosophy that has been instrumental in the birth and

Darwin knew that his theory faced many masalah.Ia acknowledged this in his book

record and complex organs of living things ( eg the eye ) which may not be

these difficulties will be overcome by new discoveries ; but nevertheless he still put
forward a number of very inadequate explanations for some.
The American physicist Lipson made the following comment on the difficulties of
Darwin: On reading The Origin of Species , I found that Darwin himself was not so
sure that is often to be; chapter Difficulties of the Theory for example , shows
considerable self doubt large enough .
As a physicist , I was particularly intrigued by his comments on how the eye is
formed :
1 . While developing his theory , Darwin was impressed by the previous evolutionary
biologists , especially a French biologist , Lamarck .
2 . According to Lamarck , living creatures passed on the traits they acquired during
his life from one generation to the next , so there was evolution . For instance ,
giraffes evolved from antelopes resemble animals . Changes that occur with their

Population Trends In Canada
Examining population trends can help Canada in regards to planning for the future,
particularly within the health field. Looking at the population pyramids, a large
portion of Canadas population are older adults. (Clarke, 2016). It is also known that
a large portion of older adults reside within their own homes, 92.1% lived in private
households...while 7.9% lived in collective dwellings (Statistics Canada, 2011). Why
it is though that living within one s home seems to be the common trend? Perhaps
living within a familiar communityand neighborhood contributes to this choice. As
older adults age and experience the need to transition into a collective dwelling, how
will the notion of community and keeping these individuals in their community s...

An article that looked at patients within hospitals in Ontario found that, about ten
percent of patients waiting for a spot in long term care facility waited well over a
year (Kondro, 2010). Therefore, it is known that more long term care and community
dwellings for older adults are needed. Although, the constructions of more residences
for older adults is important, location needs to be a priority when building these
facilities. For the health of the older population, new residences need to be built
within communities and neighborhoods. This will provide smoother transition into
new living citations with less stress. Staying within communities would allow for
familiarity; having one s family doctors being a short distance away, access public
transportation, having the opportunity to continue attending activities such as
religious services. Also, remaining in one s community may allow for feelings of
being rooted in culture and receiving more culturally competent care. There are many
neighborhoods within cities across Ontario and Canada that are rooted deeply in
certain cultures, such as Italian or Finnish
Major Causes Of The First Crusades
The First Crusade was the start of mass religious persecution in Europe. The
crusade focused on violent subjection of non Christians like Jews and Muslims
lead by the order of Pope Urban II. Urban II made a call to arms against many
against the Muslims stating that they must wrest that land from the wicked race,
and subject it to yourselves (332). This entailed that anyone who was not Christian
was part of this wicked race , and that those who didn t believe in the holiness of
Christ was to be either converted or eradicated. This is how the persecution of Jews
came to place along with that of Muslim belief. The Jews, who had amassed a large
following in the Rhineland, were seen as a much as a problem as the Muslims that
the First Crusadeswere focused on due to the fact that they were close to home. This
lead them to be included in these crusades. The question at hand was why the
perspectives of Christians towards non Christians led them to violent action against
Muslims and Jews? A major factor that lead to the First Crusadewas the presence of a
Turkish threat in the Asia Minor. The Seljuk Turks had a strong presence already and
after the capture of Baghdad, they created pressure for the Byzantine Empire. After a
disastrous attempt to impede the looming Turkish forces with a mercenary army of
Franks, Normans, and Slavs that led to the capture of emperor Romanus IV, the
Byzantines lost their control over the region. The new emperor Alexius I took further
action and
Gang Report On Gang Groups
According to the 2013 National Gang Report, gangs continue to flourish, progress,
and develop criminal tradecrafts (p. 3). Based on state, local, and federal law
enforcement reporting, the National Gang Intelligence Center (NGIC) calculated that
the US gang composition is approximately 88 percent street gang members, 9.5
percent prison gang members, and 2.5 percent outlaw motorcycle gang (OMG)
members. Street gangs pose the most violent and significant threat in most
communities, while prison gangs are viewed as the least problematic (National
Gang Report, 2013, p. 3). OMGs are described as the greatest threat in approximately
11 percent of jurisdictions, despite comprising only 2.5 percent of the gang
composition (National Gang Report,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Street gangs are linked to crime in elementary, middle, and high schools, and even
on college campuses. Schools provide grounds for recruitment and many public
schools are widespread with gang activity such as assaults, robberies, threats and
intimidation, drug distribution, and weapons offenses (National Gang Report,
2013, p. 4). Gangs continue to commit violent crimes, including assaults, and
robberies, and threats and intimidation more so than white collar type crimes, such
as identity theft and credit card fraud (National Gang Report, 2013, p. 4). Drug
trafficking was identified as the most common criminal activity of gangs (National
Gang Report, 2013, p. 4). In 2010 and 2011, DГ©cary HГ©tu1 and Morselli

Facebook and Twitter (p. 877). The top three gangs with the highest number of
members on Facebook in 2010 and 2011 included: Hells Angels (14,775 and 42,911),

dramatically for Hells Angels over just a one year period. Similarly, Twitter s top
three gangs were the Bloods (47,171), Hells Angels (13,411), and the Latin Kings

Death In Elizabethan Era Essay
With millions of people expiring because of widespread disease, poor living
conditions, or the brutality of the legal system, death was a common and inescapable
enemy in Elizabethan times. Because death was so much a part of living, religious
beliefs, rituals, and traditions that payed homage to death and honored the deceased
became important. These traditions, however, were not the same for everyone. In
fact, the attitude, treatment and approach to deathand burial in the Elizabethan age
was not so much guided by spiritual and religious belief, but moreso by the social
status of the deceased.
Such after death beliefs in Elizabethan times tended to be heavily religious based. To
the people of the renaissance era, dying meant either going to Hell, Heaven, or
Purgatory. These beliefs were so strong that a majority of daily life would encompass
following God s will. Heaven was, and still is, believed to be the destination for souls
to rest if they have lived a life deemed good by God. Heaven is commonly depicted
as a bright place in the sky. It is believed to be the residence of Angels, holy beings
that are the servants of God. It was more so believed to be a state of mind rather

Reason For Westward Expansion
Do you think it s justifiable to take someone s property, just because you think you
deserve it? That is the basic reason for Westward Expansion. Westward Expansion
was when the US moved to the west, claiming land. Prominent American thinkers,
like politicians, intellectuals, artists, and religious leaders, justified westward
expansion by saying that they were going to unite their people, civilize the
indigenous people, and, overall, they believed they were entitled to the land. The first
reason that the US moved West was because they believed there were new
opportunities there. From Frederick Jackson Turner s essay, The Significance of the
Frontier in American History, this expansion westward with its new opportunities

Well some people must of had a rough day today! Mrs. Denoia exclaimed. We

Inspector Calls Inspector
An Inspector calls The Role Of the Inspector. The character of Inspector Goole is
the catalyst for the evening s events and is quite a mystery and fascination to many
people. He is described and comes across as able to create an impression of
massiveness, solidity and purposefulness… He speaks carefully, weightily and
has a disconcerting habit of looking hard at the person he addresses. I will be
carefully looking at how he manages to be so powerful and authoritative, mainly
concentrating on the specific language and use of rhetorical speaking that he uses
throughout the play. I will also mention the mystery of whether the inspector was an
impostor and look at the broad possibilities, of which he may be, One of the... Show

You ll see (pg 26) This clearly shows that despite the Birlings being aware that the
Inspector already knows everything there is to know, they still pour out the
information precisely because of the effect he has on them. He not only asks them
to tell him what they did but also guilt trips them by asking them whether or not
that is how they would want to be treated. By doing this, the Inspector is
attempting to broaden the family s perspective on their own actions, giving them a
chance to realise their own faults. The showing of Eva Smiths photograph is a
useful technique of the inspector, which he uses to trigger the character s
memories of their involvement with Eva and make them relive their experiences.
However his methods of showing a photo are rather suspected. He only lets one
person see the photo at a time and every time replaces it in his pocket. How do we
know it is just one photo, when it could be several photos of different people the
family has been involved in and then could be no connection whatsoever? J.B
Priestly has used the photos as a clever tool to heighten the mystery and to keep the
audience wondering and so in turn making the play much more dramatic. The
Inspector also manages to induce dramatic irony during the last sub plot within in
which he prompts Mrs Birling to condemn the father of Eva s child, which ironically
is Eric. Using his method of talking calmly but disturbingly, making the questioned

Competitor Analysis Of Harley Davidson
C. Competitor Analysis
Completing the competitor analysis allows for the company to prepare a response
profile to understand the market and where the company is positioned at this time.
Within the analysis we will observe the objectives, strategies, assumptions, and
strengths and weaknesses of the company s competitors. Based on the growing global
market pertaining to motorcycles, we shall observe the external environment. Due to
the increase in the industry the company faces many competitors. Some of the
company s biggest competitors are the Japanese manufacturers, Honda, Yamaha,
Kawasaki, and Suzuki. When the Japanese manufacturers entered the industry they
became dominated by stylish designed motorcycles at a inexpensive price. Hence, due
to their management, designs, and advanced products at an affordable price, the
Japanese manufactures held an competitive advantage. They also provided diverse
products that allowed for them to gain knowledgeable use of economies of scale and
scope in manufacturing. This allowed for them to produce new models with
advanced features and lower price, gaining a larger customer base. Although, the
Japanese manufactures were dominate in many ways, the British manufacturer,
Harley Davidson, and the German manufacturer, BMW, hold significant ranking in
the industry. These manufactures produced luxury motorcycles that pleased those of
higher taste. The Harley Davidson brand and image alone held an high standard and

The Importance Of Community Service For Your
Community And...
Have you ever thought about what community service would do for your community
or the community of others? Or at least thought of the impact that it could have on
not only you , but others as well? Community Service or volunteering has a certain
importance to it. Community service is helpful when trying to build or bettera
communityfor not only those in the community but you as well. By volunteering
people gain compassion and understanding of the world around them. When people
volunteer, they usually volunteer in a project that they re really passionate about,
which gives them the opportunity to volunteer with as much time that is
available. Community service is way to bring a nation together. It is like the key
point of a country, as there is a great amount of importance of doing good for
others. Community service is a handy service because it is the best way to create a
sense of responsibility to people. With so many things going wrong in the world
today, normal everyday people have the opportunity to fulfill a sense of purpose and
they have the chance to make their world a better place.
Community service is not only fun and rewarding experience, it also looks good
really good on a resume. By people stepping up to volunteer, it gives them a great
sense of newfound purpose as well. By giving back through community service this
brings not only joy to those who are being helped but a sense of pride and
accomplishment for the person who is participating in community

Causes of American War of Independence
The Causes of American War of Independence The American Revolutionary War
(1775 1783), also known as the American War of Independence, was a conflict that
erupted between Great Britain and revolutionaries within thirteen British colonies,
who declared their independence as the United States of America in 1776. The war
was the culmination of the American Revolution, a colonial struggle against political
and economic policies of the British Empire. The war eventually widened far beyond
British North America; many Native Americans also fought on both sides of the
conflict. Throughout the war, the British were able to use their naval superiority to
capture and occupy coastal cities, but control of the countryside (where most of the...

Introduction
Intellectual Property Concepts: Patents, Trade Mark, Trade Secret and Copyright
The modern economy is principally technology driven. Technology products are
normally creations of the mind. They entail unique techniques, products, or brands. In
order to protect their own investment, entrepreneurs need to safeguard these creations
because they are intellectual property. Intellectual property is the mind s product, but
can be manifested physically. Therefore, its concept behind it can be copied or
transferred. These concepts need to be protected by law. There are four major kinds
of intellectually property, all which have some legal protection. These include patents,

They also indicate sponsorship and authorization. They also differentiate a company s
products from those of competitors. Trademarks also show value and image as an
effort to create a notion of quality or uniqueness in the mind of the customer.
Trademark infringement takes place when there is chance of confusion between two
products or services offered by different companies (Knudson, 2006). Trademarks are
usually a crucial element of company s marketing strategy and therefore need to be
selected carefully and safeguarded consistently against all possible violators.
Copyrights are used in protection of artistic works like books, plays, films, music,
paintings, or computer software. Copyright infringement entails use of such works
either in part of whole without prior permission of their owners, or without
acknowledging the source (Knudson, 2006). Trade secret refers to any intellectual
property that grants its holder a competitive edge over the competitors. It includes any
information which may in from of a formula, pattern, compilation, program,
technique, process that derives sovereign economic value from not being known.
Unlike patents which protect the original inventor regardless of the source of
subsequent inventions, trade secrets are not safeguarded (Knudson, 2006). Further, a
person can dismantle a product in order to uncover a trade secret without
infringement through a process known as reverse engineering. However,

Persuasive Essay On Women Pay
If,for the same work, women make only 77 cents for every dollar a man makes,
why don t business hire only women? Wages are the biggest expense for most. So,
hiring only women would reduce costs by nearly a quarter and that would go right to
the bottom line. Don t business want to be profitable. Or, are they just really bad at
math? Well, actually,it s the feminists, celebrities and politicians spreading this wage
gap myth who have the math problem. Here s why. The 77 cents on the dollar
statistic is calculated by dividing the median earnings of all women working full
time by the median earnings of all men working full time. In other words, if the
average income of all men is, say, 40,000 dollars a year, and the average of women is
say 30,800 dollars, that would mean that women earn 77 cents for every dollar a
man earns . These calculations do not reveal a genderwage injustice because it doesn
t take it into account occupation, position, education or hours worked per week.
Even a study by the American Association of University Women, a feminist
organization, shows that the actual wage gap shrinks to only 6.6 cents when you
factor in differents choices men and women take. And the key word here is choice
. The small wage gap that does exist has nothing to do with paying women less, let
alone with sexism ; it has to do with differences in career choices that men and
women make. In 2009, the US Department of Labor released a paper that examined

staff aide to George Washington. In his early life, he was born in the West Indies.
Alexander had a lot of family problems between his father and mother and had a
rough childhood. He wanted to make a change and start his life in a better
direction, so he got his first job at the age of 11 as an accounting clerk. He very
quickly impressed his employer by his knowledge of international commerce and
how to handle money. At the age of 16 he had finally made it to America, arriving in

Composting Research Paper
What happens to garbage once it leaves your house? It is either burned, buried, or
recycled. However, the method that is leaving the greatest impact on nature is the
burying of trash in landfills. Turns out, 55 percent of all trash ends up getting piled
into landfills and left there. In 2006, Americans generated 251 million tons of
garbage; 35 percent of that garbage came from schools and other commercial
locations.Luckily, there is an easy way for schools to reduce their carbon footprint:
composting. Schools should require uneaten food to be composted because it
reduces the amount of trash in landfills, greenhouse gases, and the use of chemical
fertilizers. In the paragraphs to follow I will explain to you the benefits of schools
requiring uneaten food to be composted.
Firstly, if schools require uneaten food to be composted there will be less trash in
the landfills. In fact, about 40% of our garbage is organic waste and can be kept out of
the landfills by compost. Also, Mary Schwarz, extension support specialist for the

Compost is a valuable resource for lawns and gardens. When used, compost
improves the soil s moisture management, regulates the soil s pH, provides
nutrients on a slow release basis and suppresses certain plant diseases. In addition,
it can bind and degrade some pollutants in the plant s growing environment, reduce
the need for pesticides and help control erosion. Compost restores soil structure
after natural soil microorganisms have been reduced by the use of chemical

that but it also minimizes odors from agricultural areas. Along with being a valuable

Technology Is A Huge Part Of Society Today Essay
Technology is a huge part of society today, no one can deny that. But how has the
updated technology affected America s Pastime? Baseball has now been built
around modern technology, as has everything in today s world. Back before games
were broadcast on the radio, fans used to have to wait until the next day to find out
if their team won and to see the score. Today, an avid fan can see the details of every
pitch the pitcher throws as he throws it. Anyone can watch any game they want, no
matter where they live. A Boston Red Soxfan that lives in Sacramento, California
can watch any Boston game, not just when the Red Sox come to California. A
major way technology has affected is the use of replay in the MLB. As much as it
is was questioned when it was brought into the league, it has become a major part
of the game today. Almost any questionable call can be reviewed to get it right.
Injuries have turned into the big talk of most professional sports today. They are
inventing new technology to help prevent these injuries, including concussions and
shoulder injuries. Social Media is such a huge part of the internet today. Social
Media can connected fans to their favorite players. This can be a very good thing,
but at the same time it can sometimes be a not very good thing. Baseballwas once a
game where fans were limited to one or two televised games a week and could get
news on teams other than those in their home town only through newspapers and
occasional magazine stories.
Hendrix Turning Points
In the second grade, I told my mom I wanted to play guitar. Watching School of
Rock may or may not have affected that decision. A couple weeks later, my mom
brought home... a violin Guitar Center had run out of guitars, she claimed. And
though it wasn t exactly what I had asked for, I ended up liking the violin, and came
to appreciate classical music. But my other musical tastes stuck with me, and quickly
expanded my iPod soon contained rock, jazz, alternative, heavy metal, hip hop, rap,
country, and everything in between. As I listened to various musical styles, I
gradually picked up more instruments electric guitar, bass, classical guitar, and so
forth.

Each song and each genre has meaning, and that meaning doesn t necessarily have
to be incredibly significant for the music to have value. At its core, music is a
vehicle for the expression of culture. Each genre or style of music represents
different beliefs and different communities. When I listen to a song, I feel as if I
m having a conversation with the artist, where they tell me all about their way of
life. This is what makes music powerful. A song can take me to places and time
periods I would never be able to see in real life. In music, I experience a separate side

Advantages and Disadvantages of an Unwritten
Constituion...
The advantages of an unwritten constitution far outweigh the disadvantages (40)
You must make a judgement.
A constitution is a set of rules that establish duties and functions of the government
and defines the basic principles to which society must conform. In this essay I will
discuss the advantages and disadvantages of an unwritten constitution and show that I
agree with this statement.
On one hand, if a written constitution was introduced it would affect the power of
government, relationship between judges and politician and individual freedoms and
rights. One argument is that a written constitution would make the rules of the
country clearer, as constitutional rules would be collected together and put into a
single document and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unwritten constitutions are flexible as they are not entrenched, and flexibility is
extremely important and useful as the modern day is constantly changing.
The strongest argument in favour of a written constitution is that it would protect the
rights of its citizens and individual liberty would be more securely protected. The
rights would become more clearly defined due to a written constitution and perhaps
easier to enforce than an unwritten constitution because it is difficult to be completely
sure of what your rights are, these rights can be defined through a bill of rights in the
written constitution.
However, just because there is a written constitution does not ensure the rights of a
countries citizens will receive their rights rather, it could lead to an elective
dictatorship which might further restrict rights and may go on to persecute some of
its citizens, which happened in Germany and resulted in the Second World War.
Another disadvantage of a written constitution is that there may be tyranny within
the judiciary. Judges are unelected and socially do not represent the population
which could lead to a democratic deficit because of a lack of democratic legitimacy,
as the public could be subjected to opinions which they do not agree with but have
been implemented due to the preferences of senior judges.

Essay On Plastic Surgery
When I was ten years old, I was told I had to get plastic surgery. I was terrified and
immediately burst into tears. I didn t get upset because I was scared, but rather I
thought that undergoing plastic surgery meant the doctor was going to cut a piece
of my body out and replace it with plastic. I thought I was going to be part Barbie. I
eventually came to terms with this crazy idea of mine only to learn plastic surgerywas
nothing like that. This is where my interest in becoming a physicianbegan. Prior to
this, I had not had much exposure to healthcare, but that all changed very quickly.
I was allergic to the post surgical medication and it caused me to break out. Thus, I
spent many nights in the emergency department and a lot more time in my doctors
offices than I would have liked to at that age. By the time I was twelve I had
already been a patient of a plastic surgeon, dermatologist, pediatrician,
endocrinologist, and I was about to become the patient of an oncologist. Routine
pre surgical blood work came back abnormal and due to my family history, I was
immediately sent to an oncologist. The reason for my abnormal results that day
was never found out, but I am very fortunate I had nothing wrong with me. At this
point, I realized that when I grew up I wanted to be a physician. I wanted to be the
person that helped so many others like myself. I felt, at the age of 13, that I owed
my health to these physicians and that it was my duty to give back.

Type 2 Diabetes And Psychotic Depression Essay
Type 2 Diabetes and Psychotic Depression
Type 2 diabetes and psychotic depression interrelate in different ways. First,
substances of abuse such as cannabis, alcohol and tobacco have the potential to
interfere with or change the pharmacokinetics of the oral hypoglycemic agents used
in treating diabetes in addition. In addition, the use and presence of a comorbid
psychiatric disorder like depression interfere with the management of diabetes. The
interference occurs by negative influence on patients adherence to treatment
adherence. There are also disorders such as phobia of needles and injections in
psychotic patients, which can make it difficult to diagnose and treat diabetes through
blood glucose testing and insulin injection. Such phobias interfere with the treatment
of type 2 diabetes. Finally, patients with psychotic depression are less likely to go for
psychiatric test and treatment, thus delaying the diagnosis or detection of co
occurring diabetes.
Risk Assessment in Mental Health
Mental health services can manage risk and safety more effectively by involving
service users in planning for safety. However, conventional clinical techniques of risk
assessment are obstacles to creating normal and risk free physical life for admitted
and recovering mental health patients. It is recommended that mental service givers
and patients should work jointly to develop and implement effective risk management
plans for mentally ill people to proceed with their normal lives.

Optimism In Romeo And Juliet
Being optimistic is being hopeful and having a positive attitude about the future.
One can be optimistic in any situations with any emotions, it depends on the view
and personality of the person in mind. In William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet,
two individuals from different worlds find a way to come together even in the face
of their families altercations to find true love. The play, Romeo and Juliet,
expresses a rather optimistic view of life. In the play, the two lovers try to keep
their lives positive despite what is going on in their personal lives. Juliet is in
disbelief when she learns that her love Romeo is a montague and she is not allowed
with him. While at the feast in the Capulet house, Juliet talks to the nurse after

The Nurse acts like a messenger for Juliet and is out of breath from having to walk
through Verona. After receiving good news from Romeo the Nurse heads back to
the Capulet home and says to Juliet, I am aweary. Give me leave awhile. Fie, how
my bones ache! What a jaunt have I! (2.5.25). This represents that the Nurse has
become tired and needs to relax after Juliet s requests for her to speak with Romeo.
Though the nurse feels weak and needs some time to settle down a bit but instead
she explains all of what happened to Juliet. This is an example of staying calm and
happy when you are stressed or down. Romeo s new love interest brings a sense of
distress to the Friar. As Romeo tells Friar Lawrence he is in love with the
forbidden the Friar says, But come, young waverer, come, go with me, In one
respect I ll thy assistant be, For this alliance may so happy prove To turn your
households rancor to pure love (2.3.85). The Friar is aware of the feud between the
families, but instead of becoming worried about this situation the Friar although
feeling stressed agrees to marry the two. The Friar has hope that the marriage
could reunite the Capulet and Montague. He always keeps his hope throughout the
play. The Friar acts as a friend to Juliet when Romeo was exiled. When Friar
Lawrence hears the news that Romeo has been exiled he comes up with a plan for
Juliet and says, Hold. Get you gone. Be strong and prosperous In this resolve
(4.1.126). The Friars only son like figure has been sent away indefinitely and still
instead of being full of anger he simply helps Juliet without a thought of his own
feelings. Friar Lawrence sees only the good in every situation and figures out way to
make it better, like giving Juliet the potion in hopes of bringing Romeo back so they
can run away. Through all of the stress the Friar and the
The Word Folly In Advertising Campaign Analysis
In agonizing over the use of the word folly in its advertising campaign, it was
necessary that New Belgium Brewery (NBB) took adequate measures in ensuring
that the operation was successful. When campaigning, NBB s goal is to create a
lasting impression on it s audience, and developing the appropriate slogan, and
utilizing the proper wordage, is vital to it s success. For example, the Capital One
campaign is known for it s What s in your wallet catch phrase, and State Farm is
known for it s Like a good neighbor slogan. In the late 1990 s, the three major
companies that led in advertisingwere Anheuser Busch, Miller BrewingCompany and
Coors Brewing Company (Wilcox, 2001, p. 149). NBB s struggle with using the word
folly , was the fear of delivering an erroneous interpretation of the quality of it s beer.

I personally had to research the word folly , due to it not being a common word in
my vocabulary, to determine it s meaning. The word in itself, is not one I would
use in an advertisement; although it is descriptive of the effects of alcohol.
Recalling the feeling of an out of body experience , and a feeling of unreality, is
somewhat the picture of drinking beer paints. NBB using the word folly, is
advertising that their product will allow you to experience the feeling of foolishness
and unreality. In foolishness, your thought process is distorted, which hinders
appropriate decisions, of which many drinkers enjoy. A study conducted revealed
that beer drinkers consume alcohol to relieve stress, relax their minds, and allow the
opportunity to socialize more openly with strangers (Jayne, Valentine, Holloway,
2010, p. 546). If the intent of NBB using the word folly, is to entice beer drinkers to
achieve the feeling of foolishness, I understand the
Bryan Stevenson s Argumentative Essay
Racial inequality, excessive punishment, unfair trials, wrongful convictions and
improper treatment of children and the mentally ill are just some of the main reasons
why attorney, Bryan Stevenson, decided to found the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI).
Mr. Stevenson was going through the motions to be a lawyer. He wasn t certain that
this was the career for him; however, he seemed to keep pressing forward. He took a
class on race and poverty litigation that sparked his interest in the subject. Part of this
courses curriculum was that you had to work with an organization that does social
justice work. Mr. Stevenson decided to work with the Southern Prisoners Defense
Committee (SPDC) out of Atlanta, Georgia. The SPDC focused on providing legal
assistance to those sentenced to death. At the time that he started working with the

became involved in a murder in a neighboring community of a young lady named
Vickie Pittman. Ms. Pittman came from a lower class white family and her murder
was not as publicized as much as Ms. Morrison s due to her family s status. Mr.
Myers used the popularity of the murder of Ms. Morrison to deflect attention away
from the murder of Ms. Pittman. He had heard about the affair through local gossip

The Effects Of Parenting And Raising Children
In the recent years, There has a significant work and studies in the field of
parenting and raising children. Many social workers and researchers had been
putting a lot of efforts and conducting plenty of studies to find the best methods for
parents to raise happy successful kids. Today s fast paced life and the long work
hours had left parents with very little time for their children. However, studies have
shown the many negative effects on the kids personality and how important it is for
caregivers to be with their kids and nurture them. Alice Sterling Honig in her article
Raising Happy Achieving Children in the New Millennium talked about how it is a
crucial matter for parents to spend enough time with their children, especially in their
early years. Communication between children and parents is also very important,
although many parents don t understand that. For instance, when a kid does
something wrong parents should talk about why did he do it and why it is wrong,
not just send him to his room or spank him. Teaching toddlers and preschoolers that
are still discovering the world around them can very challenging, that s why parents
need to have a lot of patience while dealing with little kids, and help them learn right
from wrong. Parentingis not about how to be perfect, there is no such thing as a
perfect parentor the perfect kid, there will be mistakes from both sides. Therefore
caregivers need to focus on how to teach morals and values to their kids, show them

Theme Of Death In Romeo And Juliet
In those times, family s hatred towards another family could go to the extent of
seeing their children s death. Romeo and Juliet s death was caused due to their

Illiteracy In America Essay The Critical Problem of Illiteracy in the U.S. and Solutions to the Problem Frederick Douglass once said, Once you learn to read, you will forever be free (Cardoza, 2013). Millions of U.S. adults do not possess basic reading and writing skills, and may be deemed illiterate or functionally illiterate . Illiterate means unable to read or write at all and functionally illiterate means that one does not possess sufficient reading and writing skills to function successfully in today s society (Conover, 2009). Those who are illiterate and functionally illiterate are unable to perform tasks as simple as reading a bus schedule or writing a check (Conover, 2009). Not knowing how to read could cause a person stress, embarrassment, or even loss of a job. Difference Between Classroom Learning And Online Learning Bishnu Khatiwada Classroom learning vs online learning Development in the education sector has given people many choices of learning to meet their educational goals. The current and popular systems of learning are classroom learning and online learning. I used to think all ways of learning are the same, until I had taken a couple of classes and had to overcome some challenges classroom learning and online learning are different in terms of support network, quality of peer interaction, decision making, and success Having a support network is a useful tool for achieving success. Many students cannot succeed in learning because they face challenges of finding the right resources that are available to them. There are many resources available on campus and they are organized in such a way that they are easy to access like campus tutoring centers for different subjects, reading club, on campus library, and different student organizations that are available to assist them. For example, whenever students have trouble understanding any course material, they have an opportunity go to the tutoring center and seek help. However, it is very hard to get those resources available to leaners who take online courses. Whenever students have trouble understanding the assignment, they need to rely on email conversations to solve the problem and don t know when their teacher is going to get back to them. It can be very frustrating. One of my friends shared his experience taking an online course for math, and it was very difficult to understand the course materials with tutorials video. He told me about his experience stocking in the middle of the assignment was approaching was huge problem to overcome and maintain grade. Quality peer interaction is important for all human beings, cannot imagine life without any interaction. Classroom can be good place to meet a new people from diverse backgrounds, even from a different culture. Meeting people we can share common interest, learn about new culture

Social worker s, on a daily basis have to work with clients that have different values than us, but how do they do that without compromising the assistance you provide the client? Some social workers, as Jerry Diller (2015) states, are, . . . unaware of one s own prejudices and how may be communicated inadvertently to clients (Pg. 3). When a social worker knows they are experiencing a conflict with their values the real question is how a person navigates through these treacherous waters that could possibly drown a person? How does a professional continue to help a client even with conflicting values in the midst of so many other issues? These questions are not a onetime situation, this will occur more as the professional progresses in the helping profession. The crusade focused on violent subjection of non Christians like Jews and Muslims lead by the order of Pope Urban II. Urban II made a call to arms against many against the Muslims stating that they must wrest that land from the wicked race, and subject it to yourselves (332). This entailed that anyone who was not Christian was part of this wicked race , and that those who didn t believe in the holiness of Christ was to be either converted or eradicated. This is how the persecution of Jews came to place along with that of Muslim belief. The Jews, who had amassed a large following in the Rhineland, were seen as a much as a problem as the Muslims that the First Crusadeswere focused on due to the fact that they were close to home. This lead them to be included in these crusades. The question at hand was why the perspectives of Christians towards non Christians led them to violent action against Muslims and Jews? A major factor that lead to the First Crusadewas the presence of a Turkish threat in the Asia Minor. The Seljuk Turks had a strong presence already and after the capture of Baghdad, they created pressure for the Byzantine Empire. Death In Elizabethan Era Essay With millions of people expiring because of widespread disease, poor living conditions, or the brutality of the legal system, death was a common and inescapable enemy in Elizabethan times. Because death was so much a part of living, religious beliefs, rituals, and traditions that payed homage to death and honored the deceased became important. In fact, the attitude, treatment and approach to deathand burial in the Elizabethan age was not so much guided by spiritual and religious belief, but moreso by the social status of the deceased. The war was the culmination of the American Revolution, a colonial struggle against political and economic policies of the British Empire. • 38. Persuasive Essay On Women Pay If,for the same work, women make only 77 cents for every dollar a man makes, why don t business hire only women? Wages are the biggest expense for most. So, hiring only women would reduce costs by nearly a quarter and that would go right to the bottom line. Don t business want to be profitable. Or, are they just really bad at math? Well, actually,it s the feminists, celebrities and politicians spreading this wage gap myth who have the math problem. Here s why. The 77 cents on the dollar statistic is calculated by dividing the median earnings of all women working full time by the median earnings of all men working full time. In other words, if the average income of all men is, say, 40,000 dollars a year, and the average of women is say 30,800 dollars, that would mean that women earn 77 cents for every dollar a man earns . These calculations do not reveal a genderwage injustice because it doesn t take it into account occupation, position, education or hours worked per week. Even a study by the American Association of University Women, a feminist organization, shows that the actual wage gap shrinks to only 6.6 cents when you factor in differents choices men and women take. And the key word here is choice . The small wage gap that does exist has nothing to do with paying women less, let alone with sexism ; it has to do with differences in career choices that men and women make. In 2009, the US Department of Labor released a paper that examined more than 50 percent reviewed

However, the method that is leaving the greatest impact on nature is the burying of trash in landfills. Turns out, 55 percent of all trash ends up getting piled into landfills and left there. In 2006, Americans generated 251 million tons of garbage; 35 percent of that garbage came from schools and other commercial locations.Luckily, there is an easy way for schools to reduce their carbon footprint: composting. Baseball has now been built around modern technology, as has everything in today s world. Back before games were broadcast on the radio, fans used to have to wait until the next day to find out if their team won and to see the score. Today, an avid fan can see the details of every pitch the pitcher throws as he throws it. Anyone can watch any game they want, no matter where they live. A Boston Red Soxfan that lives in Sacramento, California can watch any Boston game, not just when the Red Sox come to California. A major way technology has affected is the use of replay in the MLB. As much as it is was questioned when it was brought into the league, it has become a major part of the game today. Almost any questionable call can be reviewed to get it right. Injuries have turned into the big talk of most professional sports today. They are inventing new technology to help prevent these injuries, including concussions and shoulder injuries. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unwritten constitutions are flexible as they are not entrenched, and flexibility is extremely important and useful as the modern day is constantly changing. The strongest argument in favour of a written constitution is that it would protect the rights of its citizens and individual liberty would be more securely protected. The rights would become more clearly defined due to a written constitution and perhaps easier to enforce than an unwritten constitution because it is difficult to be completely sure of what your rights are, these rights can be defined through a bill of rights in the written constitution. However, just because there is a written constitution does not ensure the rights of a countries citizens will receive their rights rather, it could lead to an elective dictatorship which might further restrict rights and may go on to persecute some of its citizens, which happened in Germany and resulted in the Second World War. Another disadvantage of a written constitution is that there may be tyranny within the judiciary. Judges are unelected and socially do not represent the population which could lead to a democratic deficit because of a lack of democratic legitimacy, as the public could be subjected to opinions which they do not agree with but have been implemented due to the preferences of senior judges.
