Edgar Allan Poe Life Work
Yaneris Cruz
ASA College Edgar Allan Poe is considered one of the most important writers of all time in American
Literature. Edgar Allan Poe was born on January 19, 1809, in Boston Massachusetts. Most of his work
is characterized because of the darkness and grief readers can interpret through his work. Poe s life
was tough and complicated. Since his early childhood, his life was filled with sad moments. Such as
the dead of his parents and the dead of his wife Virginia. It can interpret that the tragic success during

The State Of Texas Is Not At Its Best Right Now
Public education in the state of Texas is not at its best right now. Students are not being challenged to
think anymore. As the second most populous state of the United States, I believe that Texas should be
at the top of public education not only in the country, but in the world. We should change how and
what teacher are teaching to students. Now days we go to school to memorize keywords so we can
graduate and get a diploma. After that, some students that don t go to college don t reuse the
information that was taught to them for four years, so basically the schools wasted resources and
money, and students lost time. I believe we can and should strike for greatness and change the public
education system from head to toe. Learning is a fun activity to do and school should not just be about
going to class and learn how to pass an exam or get good grades in a class. Learning is about gaining
knowledge and applying that knowledge to learn and discover new things about that topic. The public
education system in Texas can and should be improved for and by everybody in the state of Texas. A
great man named Nelson Mandela once said Education is the most powerful weapon which you can
use to change the world. Without education we would just be meat and bones working just for
survival, not enjoying life. Education is what brought us from the stone age to the moon. I believe that
we should spend more money on improving the public education system because students right now

Assessment, Formative Assessments, And A Final Summative...
Analysis of Results Key Findings This division unit included a variety of assessment types including a
pre assessment, formative assessments, and a final summative post assessment. In addition to the
assessments that were scored, an anecdotal notes sheet was also used to keep track of informal
assessments like student behaviors, participation, completion of worksheets, lesson activities, note
taking skills, and various other aspects of this unit that also affect the overall outcome of the unit (see
appendix A). The actual data collected for this unit, which is presented in the previous section, is able
to portray the students overall growth and progress towards reaching each of the three students
learning objectives for this unit. In total, the class average on the pre assessment was a 43% and the
class average on the summative assessment was 78%, therefore showing that as a whole, the class
grew by 35%. This shows that the entire group of students as a whole were able to develop in their
division skills in a positive way by 35% from the beginning to the end of the unit. While some of the
scores portrayed in the data tables are not necessarily showing mastery for all students, the main
concern for many of these students was in their ability to show effort, develop division skills, and
show growth as learners, and nearly 100% of students were able to achieve that. On the pre
assessment for this unit, students were graded based on an analytic rubric (refer to appendix A)

he struggled with having groups of KGBs breaking their home. Once Yoni welcomed his self into the

United Parcel Service Mission Statement
What does your company stand for? What is it s purpose? The common answer today is to make
money. That is not always the the case because many companies stand for something much greater. Do
not make the mistake of thinking that making money is not important, it is a key piece in maintaining
the original purpose and longevity of any company. The purpose that I mentioned is typically defined
by a statement or phrase that defines the vision of a company, and is better known as the mission
statement. The mission statement is established by the strategic leadership of a company it involves
creating a vision, developing strategies and empowering individuals throughout the organization to put
those strategies in action (Parnell, 2008, p.251). This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Dale Earnhardt Essay
Dale Earnhardt grew up in automotive racing. Ever since he was a kid that is what his family did, and
now his family carries on that legacy. Dale Earnhardt grew up in Kannapolis, North Carolina, a textile
mill town. His father, Ralph Earnhardt, was known as Iron heart on the short track racing circuit, and
he taught Dale how to drive stock cars and work with engines. His father had converted a barn behind
the family home into a garage, and he was well known for his skill with engines. Earnhardt s earliest
memory is of watching his father race. Dale dropped out of high school after the eighth grade because
he tried ninth grade twice and just couldn t do it. After he dropped out, Dale worked odd jobs, drove
dirt tracks, and also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dale s father helped him out with racing by helping him build motors, and giving him used tires left.
When his father died it left Dale in a situation where he had to make it on his own. Dale once said, I d
give up everything I got if he were still alive, but I don t think I d be where I am if he hadn t died.
Dale s first break in to racing was in 1975 when he drove in his first Winston cup race, coming in at
22nd. For Dale, unlike many other drivers, driving was not a hobby, it was almost his only means of
support. If he was short of money, he borrowed from other drivers, hoping that he would win the next
Sunday s race so he could pay them back on Monday. Dale was a fearless driver, but he was also
astonishingly precise. Dale s first major break was in 1978, when he replaced another driver in the
world cup 600, in Charlotte N.C. where he placed 7th one race, that is when he caught the eye of a
Winston cup car owner. That owners name was Rod Osterlund and wasn t happy with his current
driver. Rod replaced his current driver with Dale for the next to last race of that season, and Dale
drove with his characteristic fearlessness, refusing to be intimidated by the experienced drivers he was
competing against. This won him a full time position driving for Osterlund, and in only his 16th start,
he had his first win. By 1979, Earnhardt was named

Real Estate Property Pros And Cons
Real Estate Property Rights As Americans, we are able to purchase homes and become homeowners
without having to request permission to do so. It is the American dream to own a real estate and make
it a home for the family. As homeowners, a person has the right to do whatever they desire to the
property at any time as long as it is not against any law, local ordinance and in some cases, a
regulations set forth by a community association. In addition to homeowner being able to do what they
would like to the home, there are also ownership rights. The homeowner has the right of possession,
control, quiet enjoyment, and disposition (Carey, B., Larsen, J.E., Eldred, G.W., 2016, p. 7).
Right of Possession
Whoever holds the title, owns the property. The title and deed validates ownership and along with
ownership comes the right of possession, within legal limitations (Carey, B., Larsen, J.E., Eldred,
G.W., 2016, p. 7). One of the pros of owning property is that the homeowner has the right to occupy
the property and use it as they so desire. According to Carey, Larsen and Eldred, this includes the right
to keep all others from coming on your property without your permission (trespassing) (Carey, B.,
Larsen, J.E., Eldred, G.W., 2016, p. 7). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

property and to control how the property is used, even if they do not have physical presence (Carey,

Reflection Paper On Volunteer In A Community
I volunteered at Jubilee Park Community Center on Thursday, November 16, 2017 for their annual
Thanksgiving Dinner Feast from 11:00am to 2:00 pm. The local church in the area provided a
delightful meal consisting of Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, rolls and
an assortment of holiday deserts. Dozens of volunteers were on hand to make sure that this celebration
went off without a hitch. I had the pleasure of signing guests into the community center and directing
them to the entrance of the banquet hall. Most of the people that showed up were people that live in
the community and utilize the center on a regular basis. According to the website, the mission of
Jubilee Park and Community Center is to be a catalyst for community renewal and enrichment to the
Jubilee Park Neighborhood, a 62 block area in southeast Dallas. The majority of families here are
working poor who are under served in terms of education and health resources (Mission, n.d.).
Working the sign in table allowed me to interact with people of different ages, religions, and colors. I
met wonderfully diverse individuals and many of the elderly I spoke to were so grateful to be a part of
giving thanks. I volunteer at this organization on a regular basis and have had the opportunity to get to
know some of the elderly residents. Ms. Sarah and Ms. Virginia love to tell stories and learn new

Online Space And Its Impact On The World Wide Web
Communities in an online space have changed drastically since the rise of web 2.0. Web 2.0 refers to
the current state of the World Wide Web. The previous version Web 1.0 allowed users to only read,
material in a linear format online. With the introduction of web 2.0 it gave anyone the tools to read
and write information online (Oreilly, 2007). It is the reason why social networking sites such as
Facebook, Twitter and Reddit exist. It allows user to communicate on an instant level. Web 2.0
increased the popularity of blogging, forums, i.e. online communities as anyone was able to
participate on them (Oreilly, 2007). Web 2.0 has given people all over the world the tools to create and
take part in communities based around common interests. Platforms such as reddit have taken
advantage of these tools and have given people the ability to invent new forms of communities which

Why I Want To Be An Iowa Essay
When I think of Iowa, I think of the words: community, hardworking, and home. Iowa has always
been a very oriented state, and that keeps people around. Iowa is filled with hard working men and
women who want to make a good living for their families, and set good examples for their children.
All of the hard working people belong to a community of some sort, because that is what Iowa is, one
big community. There is so much more to Iowa than what others see. Iowa should not only be
perceived as a state that just grows corn or is full of farmers, but as a state that is filled with many kind
independent workers who thrive to make a difference in their communities.
Being an Iowan means that you will always be part of a community. Not only a community where a
select few people know your name, but a community where everyone knows your name, and even a
little about your background. Whenever you are feeling lonely, you can easily go for a walk and pass
around twenty people that you know. If anything were to ever go wrong, you know that you ... Show

Ancient Celtic Origins
Ancient Celtic Background Ireland: The Celts were the first people to emerge from the European Alps
in recorded history. The Celts were different from many other European peoples of the time because of
the unique language that they spoke; this language would later be referred to as Celtic. The aboriginals
in Ireland who in 8,000BC carved an empire from the sub Arctic wilderness of far northern Britain.
Their ancient origins were in the Iberian Peninsula, the frozen Steppes of Western Asia, and the
Western Fiords of Scandinavia. As these diverse people came together in a hostile land, they learned to
cooperate with one another, where over 8,000 years, they mixed to form a northern Irish race unlike
any other. They are the Cruithni (Picts) of Ireland. They called themselves the Ulladd . They
dominated Ireland s history for a thousand years, yet they considered Albann their fatherland (12 miles

effect on a share price if there is a slight change in their figures or prospects.
Earning Based Valuation
Price to Earnings Ratio (PER) refers to the fact how long a shareholder has to wait to recover the cost
of purchasing the share. PER is directly affected by the market valuation of a share. Tesco has a PER
of 18.1p in the year 2007. This is above the competitor s average PER in the same industry (appendix
1). Sainsbury has the highest PER but this doesn t suggest they are shares are more profitable than the
other three companies. This suggests they earnings are expected to increase at a quicker rate than their
rivals. Sainsbury PER is high this year but this is because their EPS for prior years were quite low
which meant they were not really profitable in the previous years. Tesco have had a stable growth
when it comes to EPS so their PER has also been stable.
The two problems with using PER are that it is calculated using accounting profits and based on
historical information. Accounting can be biased or even miscalculated which can lead to a wrong
PER figure.

Analysis Of Tony Isabella s 1995 Black Lightning
Another reflection on society was Tony Isabella s 1995 Black Lightning; he was a perfect example of
how writers used comics as a medium to address race. He was a black protégé who, due to his own
series being cancelled, later became a member of Batman s Outsiders. He was the first black
superhero in DC Comics to get his own title series and because of this, he could not avoid serving as a
symbolic reminder of racial tokenism. Real name being Jefferson Pierce, a respectable schoolteacher,
Black Lightning has the most cynical method of keeping his identity a secret. His pictorial
representation proved that he lived up to the stereotype in wearing an afro wig as well as his textual
representation in talking street slang , as this would enable him to keep his identity a secret and fit in
with his black community. The use of black slang is a means for the white creator to explore a way of
speaking that he would not usually experience and despite the words coming from Black Lightning, it
was not a true black man s voice that was heard. The use of street slang works with his pictorial
representation to exaggerate a distinction between his heroic identity and his civilian identity; slang
not only has connotations of being less educated because it is informal, but as it is slang only used by
the same social group, i.e black people, it once again places a large divide between whites and blacks.
This aspect completely opposes his civilian identity, as he talks good English and

Cynthia Barnett Water Work
Among all of the resources in the world, there is one that we do not often consider to be diminishing.
The masses take this resource, water, for granted. When the average person takes a single look at a
world map, they see multiple blue oceans covering the Earth. But, although we are surrounded by
water, our clean water reserves dwindle rapidly. In her article, Water Works , Cynthia Barnett attempts
to bring this issue to greater light and offers her own solutions. While I agree with many of Barnett s
points, she fails to look at the arguments of her detractors to the detriment of her already flawed case.
Throughout the article, Barnett analyses the idea of water scarcity. She accentuates the fact that aging
infrastructure hampers our ability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her argument is focused on the Pacific Northwest, our rainy marine paradise. She speaks to a specific
population, citing the cultural significance of the salmon in this area (Barnett 2013). Unfortunately for
her message, this ignores the ranging climates and situations around the world, where her solutions
may not be as effective. While this may be persuasive towards the generally liberal population in the
region that likely already agrees with her, it offers little for people who live in drier regions. Even
within the United States, I have my doubts that Barnett s suggestions would work. For example, desert
regions in California and plains in the Midwest would not benefit from these ideas. The article s
biggest failing, however, is the view of the rest of the world. As Dr. Pierre Mukheibir, a civil engineer
with over 20 years experience in the water sector, points out in his article that about 1.2 billion people
live without access to clean drinking water. These people do not live in the Pacific Northwest, they
mostly live in developing countries in Africa (Mukheibir 1028). I think our resources and knowledge
would be better spent focusing on the lives of those suffering from the deprivation of human rights
instead of pinpointing specific areas and peoples in the United

Cultural Diversity Essay
What is culture? Are we that different? The English Anthropologist Edward B. Taylor explained it in
his work Primitive Culture as Culture or civilization is a complex whole which includes knowledge,
belief, art, morals, law, customs, and other capabilities acquired by human as a member of society.
Valuing and understanding cultural diversity is very important in terms of being able to understand the
differences and histories of a society.
Culture itself is a key feature in the identity of a society as it helps people within the society to
identify how they view themselves and other ethnic groups. Every community, culture, or ethnic group
tends to have its own values and beliefs of how to live their life. Every society relies on strong ...

Many habits are very similar to practices in the United States. Germany is a small and densely
populated country. Unlike the United States, which is a huge and densely populated country.
The greatest shock to Americans is probably that there are no speed limits on the German Autobahn ,
which is the Highway. Speed limits in cities are strictly enforced, but on most of the Autobahn there is
no limit.
In Germany people usually greet others when walking into a waiting room or train compartment. A
simple Guten Tag or, in my home state Bavaria Gruess Gott , is the standard. Germans are also
diligent hand shakers. Not only do they shake hands when meeting someone for the first time, but at
every meeting thereafter. Arriving at parties and gatherings, it is not unusual to greet everybody
individually, with a handshake and then repeat the round again when you leave. But Never have a
hand in your pocket when shaking a Germans hand and always make eye contact.
Germans are quite reserved and typically won t take the initiative to meet with someone unless it s
necessary, especially if they know that you are American and their English is bad or nonexistent.
Germans expect Americans friendly, so it s a good idea for you to take the initiative and introduce
yourself. Every little bit of German you learn helps. Germans and all Europeans appreciate Americans

Marriage Is Not Like A Fairytale
To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and
in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, according to God s holy ordinance; and thereto I
pledge thee my faith to you. These are what we usually hear in weddings when couples make
commitments. However, these vows made are easier said than done. Marriage is not like a fairytale,
which always has a happy ending. In fact, many couples have ended up divorced. Some people who
get divorced may say that it s the best to live their life separately from their former partner. But their
children, unfortunately, become the victims of this decision. As children of divorced parents grow,
they will develop negative emotions and behaviors. Often these children will perform poorly in
school, have bad attitudes, and suffer from poor health. The best way to help these children overcome
the effect of their parents divorce is through the state and school.
An article published in New York Times in 1920 defined divorce as the legal separation of a husband
and a wife that is made effective by the judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, where the
marriage is dissolved. Divorce is distinct from marital separation in that separation of two spouses is
not necessarily permanent ( Divorces Increase ). Nobody goes into a marriage with the end goal being
a divorce. There are many people who have tried various ways to reduce the divorce rate; however,
these solutions are

Hope In Rita Hayworth And The Shawshank Redemption
Hope is an extremely valued quality to many people, being able to dream and hope of new situations
can keep individuals going. This quality is able to keep people extremely motivated when they are
facing incredibly heartbreaking and difficult situations. The pilot in this excerpt shows immense
amounts of hope in multiple different ways. This pilot is so ecstatic when they are able to get the
aeroplane up and running. Their hope and motivation pushed the pilot and those with them to create a
way for them to escape their current status. When they were able to get the aeroplane working they got
such high hopes of a chance to escape and be free from their horrible situation. Due to their
determination they were able to fix what was ruined, thus giving the pilot and those with them the
hope and chance to get back to their lives, loved ones and family. ... Show more content on

Before Andy was sent to Shawshank he hid a key under a rock that opened a safety deposit box which
contained a new identity. Andy shows tremendous amounts of hope throughout the story that the rock

new life he could create when he escapes. Andy longs for this new life that he could create for himself
and Red in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. These are both strong examples of where Andy Dufesne expresses
his hope but the best example is that if Andy truly had no hope, he would have never escaped. Hope is

Research Paper On Lou Gehrig
Lou Gehrig
The Roaring Twenties was a decade of American economy growth and consumerism following World
War I. During this time period, Americans turned to sports as a form of entertainment and started to
view athletes as stars. Among these athletes was a man named Lou Gehrig who played for the New
York Yankees. Babe Ruth, a New York Yankee slugger, overshadowed Lou Gehrig for much of the
twenties as he had a well known gift for hitting home runs. In addition, he best represented the
ideology of the Roaring Twenties for he was a gambler, drinker, and partier (Evans 2016).
However, this idolization changed when America took a turn for the worst when their stock market
crashed in 1929 ( Posts about Lou Gehrig on History For Free ). This economic collapse would leave
America in a decade long depression with little hope for the American people ( Posts about Lou
Gehrig on History For Free ) . In addition, the issue of war seemed to resurface and be more prevalent
than ever as Adolf Hitler took control of Germany and the Japanese invasion of Manchuria occurred in
Europe ( Posts about Lou Gehrig on History For Free ). Along with the ideas of war, The Dust Bowl
began in the Great Plains which left farmers out of work ( Posts about Lou Gehrig on History For Free
). With all of the terrifying events occurring, people turned to Lou Gehrig as a new type of hero that
gave them hope in the darkest times ( Posts about Lou Gehrig on History For Free ).

Myasthenia Gravis in Pets and Companion Animals
Every muscle in your body is controlled by your nervous system. The brain sends signals, or impulses
down your spinal column and out through the nervous system controlling the contraction and
relaxation of every muscle in your body, from the ones that control your eyelids to the ones that you
use to walk and jump. The same is true for your pets and companion animals.

Over time, this incomplete or improper contraction of the muscles leads to weakness, prohibiting them
from exercising and being able to stand normally for extended periods of time. Additionally, the
condition can affect the muscles that regulate swallowing correctly and even the muscles that enable
your pet to breathe.
Congenital Versus Acquired Myasthenia Gravis
There are two basic forms of myasthenia gravis congenital and acquired. With the congenital form of
the disease, animals are born with too little of the receptors for the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.
This type of MG is very rare and has only been found in Smooth haired Fox terriers, Springer
Spaniels, and Jack Russell terriers. The acquired form of the disease is caused by a faulty immune
system and accounts for the overwhelming majority of cases. In acquired MG the affected animal s
immune system generates antibodies that attack the acetylcholine receptors in the animal s muscles.

Renaissance Era Research Paper
The Renaissance Era is a period approximately dated from the 1460 s to the 1600 s. It was a period
where reason was celebrated and advanced over metaphysics and mysticism. The general conclusion
when Renaissance comes to mind always seems to center around the growth of Art and Science. The
topic of the contributions made to Psychology by the citizens of the Renaissance Era is often
overlooked, and not many are privy to the role Psychology played in the development of the Era by
perfecting scientific methods and researching reason, thought, and mental illness. The Renaissance
Era was viewed as the rebirth. It was a period where people went back to their more open minded

Though the Renaissance Era is thought to have played a major role in giving birth to the modern
secular life, it began by looking backwards instead of forward to the future with the works of
Francesco Petrarch 1304 1374, who was an influential philosopher whose writings are said to have
marked the beginning of the Renaissance. Petrarch had particular interest in freeing the human spirit,
which he believed was held in the confines of medieval traditions and opted for a more personal
religion based on personal feelings and personal faith. Martin Luther, not to be confused as Civil
Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an Augustinian Priest and biblical scholar who did not
agree with what he had witnessed Christianity turn into. His view of Christianity aligned with the
beliefs of St. Paul s and St. Augustine s than that of Aquinas. He believed everyone should suffer the
consequences of their sins, and that God was the only person any human being was answerable to. The
Renaissance was a paradoxical time. There was a growth of interest in human potential coupled with
human achievements, and simultaneously, there was also persecution, witch hunting, superstition,

With variants such as Horlicks Lite, Mother s Horlicks and Junior Horlicks, the brand now caters to
the needs of the whole family. In 1992, the Horlicks brand also branched out into biscuits and earlier
this month launched Junior Horlicks biscuits for toddlers. The Horlicks brand alone contributes almost
80 per cent to GSK s revenues.
The fact that GSK has two more milk beverages in the same market Viva and Maltova gives it a firm
grip on the market. According to Sen, Viva and Maltova are popular in select markets in areas such as
West Bengal and Tamil Nadu where they have found favour for a long time. Their popularity is largely
taste based, he explains. The difference between the three brands of malted beverages under the GSK
umbrella is marginal. Viva and Maltova are niche products with long time consumers still sticking
with them.
The other major player in this segment, Cadbury, too believes that Bournvita is an important part of its
arsenal. Sanjay Purohit, Executive Director (Marketing), Cadbury India, says, Bournvita is the second
largest brand from the Cadbury stable after Cadbury Dairy Milk. Bournvita has approximately 25 per

coupled with strong marketing campaigns over the years, has meant that Bournvita has continued as a

The Communist Manifesto By Sigmund Freud
Sigmund Freud, was a neurologist that mainly focused on psychoanalytical theories for psychology.
His most famous research was done during the late 19th and early 20th century, in which during this
time he wrote one of his most famous works Civilization and Its Discontents. In this book of his,
Freud manages to draw on many Enlightenment ideals and challenges some of these notions through
his theoretical analysis on the subconscious mind. In this book of his, Freud proposes that individual s
minds are divided into three distinct parts comprised of the ego, super ego, and the id. In his analysis
on these three parts of the mind, Freud encourageous individuals to regard their mind in emotional

In this paper of his, Marx tackles many Enlightenment ideals but also challenges many with his
analysis on class struggle (bourgeoisie vs. working class), capitalism, and the development of society
as a result of these struggles. Marx s main proposal in The Communist Manifesto is that of historical
materialism , which is basically self divided into two parts: historically and materialistic. Historically,
Marx defines history as a change from the past to present in which the present relies on analysis of the
past to ensure progress. Furthermore, Marx regards that relations in the past have continually been
subject to historical change consequent upon the change in historical conditions .7 The analysis of the
past is consequent with the present as it is dependent with progress. Without analyzing the past, Marx
is stating that society in general will not learn from the class struggles that so aptly occupied society
during that time. The materialistic aspect of this, is prominent through Marx s explanation that the
economy of a society does not necessarily lead to distress and chaos in society, furthermore the
economy of a society is not to blame. In many ways Marx says that following every historical period,
the prevailing mode of economic production and exchange, and the social organization necessarily
following from it, form the basis upon which it is built up [...] .8

Explain The Five Sources Of Law
WEEK 11: Discussion board
As mentioned in the text Law is a body of rules established by government officials that bind
government, individuals, and nongovernment organization. These rules were established to maintain
stability and justice. The five sources of law are common law, constitutional law, legislation, executive
orders and administrative law. Common law is judge made and is grounded in tradition and previous
judicial decisions, instead of in written laws. It was a tradition beginning in England as the United
States had former ties to England, they were influenced by it. Constitutional law is the body of law
that comes out of the courts in cases involving the interpretation of the constitution. The highest court
is the Supreme Court.

  • 4. The State Of Texas Is Not At Its Best Right Now Public education in the state of Texas is not at its best right now. Students are not being challenged to think anymore. As the second most populous state of the United States, I believe that Texas should be at the top of public education not only in the country, but in the world. We should change how and what teacher are teaching to students. Now days we go to school to memorize keywords so we can graduate and get a diploma. After that, some students that don t go to college don t reuse the information that was taught to them for four years, so basically the schools wasted resources and money, and students lost time. I believe we can and should strike for greatness and change the public education system from head to toe. Learning is a fun activity to do and school should not just be about going to class and learn how to pass an exam or get good grades in a class. Learning is about gaining knowledge and applying that knowledge to learn and discover new things about that topic. The public education system in Texas can and should be improved for and by everybody in the state of Texas. A great man named Nelson Mandela once said Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Without education we would just be meat and bones working just for survival, not enjoying life. Education is what brought us from the stone age to the moon. I believe that we should spend more money on improving the public education system because students right now will be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Assessment, Formative Assessments, And A Final Summative... Analysis of Results Key Findings This division unit included a variety of assessment types including a pre assessment, formative assessments, and a final summative post assessment. In addition to the assessments that were scored, an anecdotal notes sheet was also used to keep track of informal assessments like student behaviors, participation, completion of worksheets, lesson activities, note taking skills, and various other aspects of this unit that also affect the overall outcome of the unit (see appendix A). The actual data collected for this unit, which is presented in the previous section, is able to portray the students overall growth and progress towards reaching each of the three students learning objectives for this unit. In total, the class average on the pre assessment was a 43% and the class average on the summative assessment was 78%, therefore showing that as a whole, the class grew by 35%. This shows that the entire group of students as a whole were able to develop in their division skills in a positive way by 35% from the beginning to the end of the unit. While some of the scores portrayed in the data tables are not necessarily showing mastery for all students, the main concern for many of these students was in their ability to show effort, develop division skills, and show growth as learners, and nearly 100% of students were able to achieve that. On the pre assessment for this unit, students were graded based on an analytic rubric (refer to appendix A) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

That is not always the the case because many companies stand for something much greater. Do not make the mistake of thinking that making money is not important, it is a key piece in maintaining the original purpose and longevity of any company. The purpose that I mentioned is typically defined by a statement or phrase that defines the vision of a company, and is better known as the mission statement. Dale Earnhardt grew up in Kannapolis, North Carolina, a textile mill town. His father, Ralph Earnhardt, was known as Iron heart on the short track racing circuit, and he taught Dale how to drive stock cars and work with engines. His father had converted a barn behind the family home into a garage, and he was well known for his skill with engines. Earnhardt s earliest memory is of watching his father race. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dale s father helped him out with racing by helping him build motors, and giving him used tires left. When his father died it left Dale in a situation where he had to make it on his own. Dale once said, I d give up everything I got if he were still alive, but I don t think I d be where I am if he hadn t died. Dale s first break in to racing was in 1975 when he drove in his first Winston cup race, coming in at 22nd. For Dale, unlike many other drivers, driving was not a hobby, it was almost his only means of support. If he was short of money, he borrowed from other drivers, hoping that he would win the next Sunday s race so he could pay them back on Monday. Dale was a fearless driver, but he was also astonishingly precise. Dale s first major break was in 1978, when he replaced another driver in the world cup 600, in Charlotte N.C. where he placed 7th one race, that is when he caught the eye of a Winston cup car owner. That owners name was Rod Osterlund and wasn t happy with his current driver. Rod replaced his current driver with Dale for the next to last race of that season, and Dale drove with his characteristic fearlessness, refusing to be intimidated by the experienced drivers he was competing against. This won him a full time position driving for Osterlund, and in only his 16th start, he had his first win. By 1979, Earnhardt was named ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Real Estate Property Pros And Cons Real Estate Property Rights As Americans, we are able to purchase homes and become homeowners without having to request permission to do so. It is the American dream to own a real estate and make it a home for the family. As homeowners, a person has the right to do whatever they desire to the property at any time as long as it is not against any law, local ordinance and in some cases, a regulations set forth by a community association. In addition to homeowner being able to do what they would like to the home, there are also ownership rights. The homeowner has the right of possession, control, quiet enjoyment, and disposition (Carey, B., Larsen, J.E., Eldred, G.W., 2016, p. 7). Right of Possession Whoever holds the title, owns the property. The title and deed validates ownership and along with ownership comes the right of possession, within legal limitations (Carey, B., Larsen, J.E., Eldred, G.W., 2016, p. 7). One of the pros of owning property is that the homeowner has the right to occupy the property and use it as they so desire. • 11. Reflection Paper On Volunteer In A Community I volunteered at Jubilee Park Community Center on Thursday, November 16, 2017 for their annual Thanksgiving Dinner Feast from 11:00am to 2:00 pm. The local church in the area provided a delightful meal consisting of Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, rolls and an assortment of holiday deserts. Dozens of volunteers were on hand to make sure that this celebration went off without a hitch. I had the pleasure of signing guests into the community center and directing them to the entrance of the banquet hall. Most of the people that showed up were people that live in the community and utilize the center on a regular basis. According to the website, the mission of Jubilee Park and Community Center is to be a catalyst for community renewal and enrichment to the Jubilee Park Neighborhood, a 62 block area in southeast Dallas. The majority of families here are working poor who are under served in terms of education and health resources (Mission, n.d.). Working the sign in table allowed me to interact with people of different ages, religions, and colors. I met wonderfully diverse individuals and many of the elderly I spoke to were so grateful to be a part of giving thanks. I volunteer at this organization on a regular basis and have had the opportunity to get to know some of the elderly residents. Analysis Of Tony Isabella s 1995 Black Lightning Another reflection on society was Tony Isabella s 1995 Black Lightning; he was a perfect example of how writers used comics as a medium to address race. He was a black protégé who, due to his own series being cancelled, later became a member of Batman s Outsiders. He was the first black superhero in DC Comics to get his own title series and because of this, he could not avoid serving as a symbolic reminder of racial tokenism. Real name being Jefferson Pierce, a respectable schoolteacher, Black Lightning has the most cynical method of keeping his identity a secret. His pictorial representation proved that he lived up to the stereotype in wearing an afro wig as well as his textual representation in talking street slang , as this would enable him to keep his identity a secret and fit in with his black community. The use of black slang is a means for the white creator to explore a way of speaking that he would not usually experience and despite the words coming from Black Lightning, it was not a true black man s voice that was heard. The use of street slang works with his pictorial representation to exaggerate a distinction between his heroic identity and his civilian identity; slang not only has connotations of being less educated because it is informal, but as it is slang only used by the same social group, i.e black people, it once again places a large divide between whites and blacks. This aspect completely opposes his civilian identity, as he talks good English and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In her article, Water Works , Cynthia Barnett attempts to bring this issue to greater light and offers her own solutions. While this may be persuasive towards the generally liberal population in the region that likely already agrees with her, it offers little for people who live in drier regions. Even within the United States, I have my doubts that Barnett s suggestions would work. For example, desert regions in California and plains in the Midwest would not benefit from these ideas. The article s biggest failing, however, is the view of the rest of the world. Historically, Marx defines history as a change from the past to present in which the present relies on analysis of the past to ensure progress. Furthermore, Marx regards that relations in the past have continually been subject to historical change consequent upon the change in historical conditions .7 The analysis of the past is consequent with the present as it is dependent with progress. The Optimization Of Cloud Computing Essay With the increasing number of users of cloud, the load/ traffic also increases and it becomes important to have some techniques to balance the load equally among all the nodes, so that the user doesn t suffer and the services are delivered effectively and efficiently. Therefore the need for Load Balancing algorithms arises. There are a number of techniques available for load balancing. In this paper, different kinds of load balancing algorithms in cloud computing along with the challenges and the qualitative metrics for the various load balancing algorithms are presented. Keywords: Load balancing, dynamic and static algorithms, Virtual Servers. 1. Introduction The definition of Cloud Computing as issued by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) September, 2011 is: Cloud computing is a model for enabling ubiquitous, convenient, on demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction. This cloud model is composed of five essential characteristics, three service models, and four deployment models. Cloud computing is a type of Internet based computing that provides shared computer processing resources and data to computers and other devices on demand. It provides an easy and flexible way of storing, retrieving huge data without bothering about the resources. With ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
