4. Hyperloop:
Is it a new mode of
transportation?
A transportation
system through
partial vacuum.
Proposed by ELLON
MUSK an American
businessman,
investor and inventor
6. High speed train which
is twice as fast as any
commercial aircraft.
First design was
published on white
paper on Aug 12 2013.
It is an open source
design.
The system can travel
962kph to 1220kph
according to need.
7. •Hyperloop consists of low pressure tube with
capsules that are transported at both low and
high speeds throughout the length of the tube
11. 1. Capsule :
A sealed capsule carrying 28 passenger .
Departs on average of 2 min and can depart in every 30
sec during peak usage ( from Los Angeles or San
Francisco).
The max width is 4.43ft and max height is 6.11ft .
The capsules are accelerated through magnetic linear
accelerator affixed at various station on low pressure
tube with rotors contained in each capsule.
13. Contd;
It is like an aircraft in tube.
The pressure of air in hyperloop is
1/6 the pressure on Mars.
This is an operating pressure of 100Pa.
It is equivalent to flying above 150,000ft
altitude.
14. Contd;
Capsules are separated by 37km distance on
average during operation.
Capsules are supported via air bearings that
operate using compressed air from air
compressor.
16. 2. TUBE
the tubes are made of steel.
Two tubes will be welded together in a side by side
configuration to allow the capsule to travel both direction
Solar array will cover the tube in order to provide power.
The inner diameter of the tube is 2.23m.
18. 3.PROPULSION
Linear accelerator are constructed along the length
of the tube at various location to accelerate the
capsule.
For acceleration and deceleration hyperloop
uses linear induction motors .
