The Hero Of Jesus Christ
It is common for people to have a hero they admire and strive to be like. Often these heroes are people
such as athletes, celebrities, world leaders, and family members. These ordinary people become heroes
because of desirable attributes they exhibit. These characteristics are ones that people can relate to,
characteristics that give birth to a desire to elevate oneself to be a hero to others. Such is my hero. My
hero was born long ago to two devoted parents that loved him dearly. Life was not easy for him or his
family; nevertheless, he grew up and became strong. Even though he was the son of a lowly carpenter,
he learned of his divine calling and rose to the challenge that came with the call. The challenges that
afflicted him in his life molded him into the hero I see him to be. He is Jesus Christ, a man with
amazing attributes and my hero. Christ had many great and marvelous attributes. He lived his entire
life by these attributes and encouraged others to develop these same values. He magnified a way for
others to find happiness and meaning. These attributes are the reason Jesus Christ is my hero. One of
Christ s greatest attributes is love. He loved everyone. He loved the poor, the wealthy, the young, and
the old. Through his example, people around him felt more inclined to love. When an individual is
filled with love, they develop a strong desire to serve others. People sacrifice time and resources to
serve others less fortunate then themselves without thinking

The Fukushima Nuclear Disaster
After considering both sides of advantages and disadvantages about nuclear energy, people are
thinking and trying to make life better. The purpose of supporting nuclear is because it can produce
energy without fossil fuel and it will not produce any bad effects of environmental chemical such as
carbon dioxide. On the other side, people are against nuclear because it is not safe enough and if
unpredictable incident happens to the industry they need to make appropriate decision quickly and as
soon as possible. Both sides of people have own purpose to make world safer to live usefully. For

A Feminist Perspective On Women
All across the world women are being discriminated against for their gender. Feminism is the
movement to combat this. Though there are many misconstructions to what being a feminist means,
Webster s Dictionary defines feminism as the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of
the sexes. Feminism is not about one gender being above the other but allowing both to be equal in all
ways. Sexism is expressed in varies different ways. In countries like America, the sexism faced is
shown through things such as the wage gap and gender roles. In other countries, however, such as
Indian and China, the sexism faced is more extreme and the women are in more sever danger.
Some people do not believe there is a need for a feminist movement, and that women have equal
rights. One huge issue that women face is the wage gap. People argue that laws such as the Equal Pay
Act has gotten rid of the need for women s suffrage, but a wage gap still exists. For every dollar a man
makes, the average white woman makes 78 cents. African American women make 64 cents and
Hispanic women averagely make a mere 56 cents to the man s dollar. Something that affects women s
earnings is lower work hours and their years with zero earnings due to family care. Women workers in
their prime earning years earned 62% less than men, or only $0.38 for every dollar men earned.
During that 15 year period, the average woman earned only $273,592 while the average man earned
$722,693 (in 1999 dollars).

Women s Rights During The Victorian Era
Throughout the Victorian era, the women s rights movement began to flourish with advancements
socially, politically, and economically; however, increased access to higher education was the most
important advancement that was made during this time. Higher education was the most important
facet of of the women s rights movement because, without education, women could not gain access to
the jobs that supported financial independence, have a voice in scholarly issues, or break free from the
societal norm of independence on men. During this time women broke the barrier that kept them from
receiving higher education. In addition, there were many advances in the job market in relation to
education, as well. In the beginning of the Victorian era, one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The main leader of this movement was the Female Middle Class Emigration Society, which was
founded in 1862. During this time, as women were not allowed to take jobs that would allow them to
support themselves, women had to marry into financial stability. However, as there were vastly more
women than men during this time, so not everyone could have a husband. This problem was extremely
perplexing for the Victorian society at the time. The solution, as proposed by women in the feminist
movement, was female emigration. Under the guidance of societies such as the Female Middle Class
Emigration Society women left Britain and traveled to the colonies, where they could find more job
opportunities. The emigration movement aligned with all of the ideals of the feminist movement at the
time. The image of women leaving the oppressive patriarchal society to stake their claim in an
unknown land thus be able to solidify their independence appealed greatly to many. However, there
were many opponents of the movement as well. Women of the upper class society believed that
women were not suited for things such as extended travel, or doing work that had been designated as
man s work. In addition, many fathers and husbands would not give consent for the women to leave,
which was necessary at the time, because they did

A Viking s Civilized World
Were the Vikings barbaric, or were they civilized? The Vikings were a civilized and organized culture.
The Vikings political system was essential to the Vikings everyday lives by giving them a stable
lifestyle and a reliable colony.Traditions and religion were an important part of the Vikings culture.
Their interaction with the environment was crucial to survival in the Vikings and their civilization.
Interacting with the environment, the Vikings managed to locate and design food and shelter. The
civilized traits in the Vikings world were demonstrated through its political, culture, and interaction
with environment. In the ancient days of the Vikings, the political aspect of their world consisted of
improving the organization and civilization of the Vikings lives; the topics that prove this statement
were law, structure, and war. As William R. Short stated, A system of laws was set up whereby people
were governed by consensus and where disputes were resolved through negotiation and compromise
(hurstwic.org). Short is conveying the idea that the Vikings had a civilized facet of the political
system. Even though the Vikings had an advanced law system, they also had to have a system of
punishment so they would be taken seriously. Short also noted that Not only was there the
psychological terror of loneliness due to exclusion from all social contacts, there was also the very real
threat of violence and death from unrelated third parties (hurstwic.org). The Vikings were

From blast furnaces to highly efficient electric arc furnaces, the steel industry has seen advancements
in both technology and range of product versatility (The Industrial Revolution n.d.).
Steel is closely linked to the ferrous scrap industry and the iron ore industry in that its main raw
materials are derived from these areas. Because of its chemical properties, steel does not have high
product substitutability; therefore world s economies have long been depending on its extensive use.
1.4 Early Market Structure of the Steel Industry
Following the post war era of the WWII, steel distribution remained mainly focused on the former
USSR, US, and Western European countries. In 1960s, the emergence of Japan as a potential steel
manufacturer surfaces, making changes to the early dominant structure of the steel market in the 50s.
ECSC (European Coal and Steel Community) was by then the world s greatest exporter of steel. It was
a collusion of developed western countries in an attempt to create a shared market.
Other strong forces were the U.S. Steel Company and later on the ex USSR. This particular period of
the industry was founded on the basis of new technologies, extensive mining and abundant production
(Medeiros 2006). Between 1960 and 1974, a growth of 5.5% per annum was keeping the industry on
top (World Steel Industry n.d.).

A Lesson Before Dying By Ernest Gaines
A hero is not only someone with superpowers but can be anyone. It can be anyone like you or me. A
hero is someone who is willing to stand up for other people. The book, A Lesson Before Dying, takes
place in Louisiana and is about an innocent Black man convicted and sent to the electric chair. In the
story there are real people that Ernest Gaines alludes to. Ernest Gaines makes an allusion to Joe Louis
and Jackie Robinson. Beside these two, Mamie Till also stepped up and was audacious. They were all
fearless and gave hope to many other people because of what they were doing. These heroes took a
stand against society and changed the world for everyone. A hero isn t just Superman but someone
who stands up for what they believe in and is a sense of hope for everyone. Jackie Robinson was the
first African American Major League Baseball player. In the article, Robinson was calm and knew
how to ignore the racism. Robinson didn t fight back when he was confronted with racism
(www.biography.com/jackie robinson). Jackie Robinson changed baseball by ending racial
segregation, which was allowing other African Americans to play in the major leagues. Jackie
Robinson succeeded in putting the prejudice and racial strife aside, and showed everyone what a
talented player he was (www.biography.com/jackie robinson). Jackie put aside his difference and
proved to everyone that he was no different than white players. Jackie was calm when confronted with
racism. He didn t fight or attack

Symbolism Of The Arnold Friend
There is a point in the adolescence of a child in which they encounter a fork, that can lead one of two
ways. The path they end up on is determined by their personal feelings toward the world, the way they
have been raised, and who they want to become in the future. In the short story titled, Where are you
going where have you been this point is explicitly expressed in the title alone. One of the
interpretations of this short story is that a man named Arnold Friend liberated a young rebellious girl,
Connie, from the torment of her youth. However, in reality the audience is eluded to the symbolism
that Connie is being pulled away from her golden innocence and into the arms of Satan himself.
Arnold Friend exhibits Satanic traits, and on this symbolic level, a young girl being stripped from her
childhood, and into an unforgiving world. The story reveals that Arnold Friend is no boy or friend, he
is referred to as a devil like character. As the story progresses, signs are observed that highlight the
rebellious girl as she sneaks out, omits information from her parents and is sucked into the teenage
culture of the time. One Sunday Connie s family woke up and, none of them bothered with church
(Oates), Sunday, in religious settings is historically the Lords Day. Oates isolates this sentence with
dashes to set it apart from the rest of the story, foreshadowing the future satanic references. These
dashes are used to symbolize that this Sunday takes a strange turn, and

The Malnart Soldier Plot Structure
The Roman comedy and the modern sitcom have very similar plot structure as the modern sitcom has

sitcom I chose for my comedy assignment is Modern Family. The sitcom is based on 3 families that
interact with one another in comedic ways.
The plot of the roman comedy, The Braggart Soldier, starts with the prologue during which all the
characters are introduced and two describe how they became slaves of Pyrgopolyneices and the basic
ideas of the plan to trick him into letting them leave with Pluesicles and go to Athens. Then, all the
characters except Palestrio leave the set. Next, the plan starts with a soldier, Pyrgopolyneices, entering
the stage and he boasts about the battles he won. Palestrio agrees with Pyrgopolyneices and then lies
to him about the woman in the house next door and about how she loves Pyrgopolyneices. Palestrio

The Truth About Pancreatic Cancer Essay
1.1 Pancreatic cancer
Pancreatic cancer is a highly lethal disease that is ranked fourth among cancer related deaths in
Norway. 31 Yearly 600 650 new cases are detected, corresponding to 7 per 100 000 inhabitant. The
survival rate five years after diagnosis is very low, at only 5 %. 19 Approximately 90 % of patients
diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer survive less than one year, with a median survival of 5 6
months. The high mortality rate is connected to late diagnosis, early metastasis and poor response to
chemo and radiotherapy. 34 Pancreatic cancer can be inherited, but 90 % of cases are considered
sporadic. 19 The major histological type of pancreatic cancer is ductal pancreatic adenocarcinoma

Evidence shows that some families have increased risk of pancreatic cancer, implying a genetic
contribution. 28 The genetic base for this increased risk has not been identified yet, but mutations in
BRCA2 and PALB2, among others, are associated with greater risk of disease 37. Only 5 10 % of
patients have a family history of the disease. 19 It has been shown that in families with four or more
cases of pancreatic cancer the risk of disease is 57 times higher than in families with no history of
disease. 19
1.1.2 Stage and diagnostics
Pancreatic cancer tumors are staged according to tumor node metastasis (TNM) classifications of the
American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC). The staging of tumors is based on tumor size and
localization, and connected to resectability. 19 Further staging reflect whether lymph node metastasis
(N stage) or distant metastasis (M stage) are present. Tumor stage, nodal stage and distant metastasis
are combined into stages which tell about the overall disease. See Table 1 for complete overview of
this staging strategy. 19

An Adventure of the Quantum Universe in Alice in...
The novel, Alice and Quantum Land, by Robert Gilmore is an adventure in the Quantum universe.
Alice, a normal teenage girl, goes through quantum land and understands what quantum is and how it
works. The quantum world is a difficult one to understand, as its nature is one of complex states of
being, natures, principles, notions, and the like. When these principles or concepts are compared with
the macro world, one can find great similarities and even greater dissimilarities between the world
wherein electrons rule, and the world wherein human beings live. In Alice in Quantumland, author
Robert Gilmore converts the original tale of Alice in Wonderland from a world of anthropomorphic
creatures into the minute world of quantum mechanics, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

All in all, this idea is one of the more significant ideas in the book.
Moreover, the principle of superposition states that if the world can be in any configuration, any
possible arrangement of particles or fields, and if the world could also be in another configuration,
then the world can also be in a state which is a superposition of the two, where the amount of each
configuration that is in the superposition is specified by a complex number. Superposition is a
principle of quantum theory that describes a challenging concept about the nature and behavior of
matter and forces at the sub atomic level. The principle of superposition claims that while we do not
know what the state of any object is, it is actually in all possible states simultaneously, as long as we
don t look to check. It is the measurement itself that causes the object to be limited to a single
possibility. In the novel, the mechanic mentions to Alice the Schrodinger experiment. This experiment
was analogous to superposition in the macro world. Schrodinger s experiment was to put a cat, flask of
poisonous glass, and a mechanism to break the flask should substance decay in a closed box.
Mechanic then stated that the substance may or may not decay, therefore, according to the rules of
quantum physics you would have a superposition of states, in some of which the decay would have
happened and in others it would not. Of course,

Simply having a job at all is the limit of their ambition. The low aspirations of these working class
young people embed the status quo. These young people see nothing wrong with their life plans and
were, for the most part, perfectly happy with their lot in life. Most of the young people come from
homes where money is tight and only a few of them sport the latest trainer or gadget.
The school system supports the dominant ideology, Kingsmeadow is classed by Ofsted (2010) as a
good school, even though, the Governments own league table place Kingsmeadow School second to
bottom in educational attainment within the Borough.
These young people are generally happy at school, the atmosphere is pleasant and reasonably
respectful but exam results are poor. Gramsci would state that the education system was enabling the
hegemonic ideology by consent and perpetrating the false consciousness that this level of attainment
and aspiration is normal and entirely appropriate for these young people. Neither student, parent,
teacher, governor nor the wider community appear to challenge the status quo.
Young people from higher social classes are enabled to succeed and to have higher aspirations from
early childhood. Access to higher attaining schools, being able to pay for private education, or being
able to move house to be close to a better school; involvement in extracurricular activities, such as

Hinduism And Buddhism Similarities
Buddhism and Hinduism are two religions that are known to share many similarities and contrasting
differences. Both religions are thought to have originated in the Ganges culture of Northern India
around 500 BC (Gartzke and Kristian, 57). Some religious scholars argue that Hinduism and
Buddhism share a long but peculiar relationship which is comparable to that of Christianity and
Judaism. Despite the existence of a strong rivalry between the followers of Buddha and the Siva, both
the religions, Buddhism and Hinduism have influenced each other in many ways (Gartzke and

With many Hindu texts professing on the eternal nature of the soul, atman is said to be trapped within
a cycle of rebirth (Saraswathi, 46). Both reincarnation and Karma ideas are merged to stipulate that the
thoughts and actions within an individual s present life will play an important role in determining the
condition of soul s future existences. There is, therefore, a cause and effect of every action. The
motivation of religious and moral activities in Hinduism is to accumulate good Karma so as to free
oneself from baneful material thus liberating the soul from the cycle of rebirth (Fisher and Rinehart,
77). According to the idea of rebirth, death only relates to the physical body but the soul continues and
is reborn into another body. The continuing worldly existence, the samsara, thus refers to the cycle of

Current Capability Set Fielding Field
Current capability set fielding along with future fielding s including Bradley engineering change

Development (EMD), and full rate production (FRP) radio variants are the Army s answer to brigade
combat team modernization. The tactical environment is the tip of the spear, a challenging space
where effectiveness, survivability, and sustainability provide the keys to success. That success is
becoming increasingly reliant on data. Data drives our missions, from operations, intelligence, and
fires, to other areas such as medical and logistics. Consumption of data is being fueled by the
introduction of new communication systems. Warfighter information tactical (WIN T) has begun to
bring this data down to the Brigade and Battalion level with the Point of Presence (POP), and the
Battalion and Company level with the Soldier Network Extension (SNE). New radio waveforms are
providing conduits for data down to the tactical edge. WIN T and Handheld, Manpack, and Small
Form Fit (HMS) radios are being integrated into Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) vehicle
platforms now. The Mid Tier Networking Vehicular Radio (MNVR) is just around the corner in FY17.
The tactical infrastructure is leveraging these new communications capabilities to move data

Darwinian Snail Lab Report
Darwinian Snails: Introduction In this experiment, we studied the manipulated effects of evolution by
natural selection within a population of snails along the Rocky Coastline. The simulation of this lab is
based of the real life experiments of Robin Seeley. Seeley studied the the shell shape and thickness of
the intertidal snail, Littorina obtusata, in northern New England. He saw that the shells had changed
drastically between 1871 and 1884. Shells before 1884, were high spiraled with thin walls. Compared
to the shells found after 1884 were low spiraled with thick walls. After doing some research, Seeley
found that an intertidal crab, Carcinus maenas, had sought after the snails for food.(Seeley) It was
found that the shell size had changed due to the harmful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It seems like we as a population are always changing to adapt to a new, better way of life, but when
does better become enough? In this snail experiment, I expect to find the snails changing, so they won
t be eaten by the crabs. In our experiment (McRae; Snails), we were asked to see how the snails
evolved through natural selection, by changing variation, inheritance, and the selection of the
population. When changing variation, we were looking to see if the population would still evolve if all
the shells started with the same thickness. In this we found that with no variation occurring, the shell
thickness didn t change and still were eaten because they couldn t evolve to adapt to the new
conditions. Next we experimented with inheritance. We made it to where the offspring would not be
identical to the parent snail, growing at a random thickness. Here we saw a more variety in the
population. After this we saw snails with thinner shells, becoming more of target and getting eaten
more likely than others. Next we played with selection. Here I got to choose which snails I wanted to
eat, being as I was the crab. I went for the ones that were easier to

Essay about understanding discipline in the workplace
Understanding discipline in the workplace 1.1 Disciplinary rules and procedures are important in a
workplace to set out the boundaries of acceptable conduct and satisfactory performance, and to ensure
fair and equal treatment of all employees. Since 1977 there has been a Code of Practice on
disciplinary practice and procedures issued by ACAS. A revised version of the ACAS Code of Practice
on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures came into effect on 6 April 2009. The Code must be taken
into account by an Employment Tribunal in situations to which it applies. It is also important that
employees know what standards of conduct and performance are expected of them. The written

What Is The Impact Of Childhood Experiences In Early...
There are a lot of elements could influence people s attitude and philosophy, especially the
experiences that they had when they were young. In this essay, I am going to talk about my childhood
experiences and make links to how aspects of my childhood impacted who I am. I will also mention
how these experiences affect my role as an early childhood educator (ECE), how these experiences
impact my work with children and families.
When I was young, my parents do not allow me to play outside freely with other friends for most of
time. In Chinese culture, people should be quiet. Talking loudly, shouting and screaming are not
accepted in our country, even just for children. Besides, when I was playing outside, my parents
always told me Do not run, do not jump. It is dangerous, stay away from that. Chinese children are
just supposed to do quiet activities, such as reading. In most of traditional Chinese parents minds,
studying is the only thing that their children need to think about, playing is wasting ... Show more

I think that children could learn and accept new things by themselves, they do not need caregivers

children could develop more and learn more when they are moving and actually touching, rather than
be taught. Children learn by their senses and play outside could provide children the environment to

novel, The Separate Peace, by John Knowles, a new character named Brinker Hadley was introduced.
Brinker does not seem like most of the people Gene knows, His face was all straight lines eyebrows,
mouth, nose, everything and he carried his six feet of height straight as well. He looked but happened
not to be athletic, being too busy with politics, arrangements, and offices (Knowles 87). I was a little
surprised that he was not athletic because most of the people Gene know are. Brinker and Gene seem
to get along well. I think they get along well because they almost have similar interest and both are not
really athletic. Leper is one of Gene s old friends who he kind of catches up with. He is kind of in his

To enlist. To slam the door impulsively on the past, to shed everything down to my last bit of clothing,

never would of thought about enlisting so soon. I think that because Gene has not thought about
enlisting until Brinker said something about it. I also think Gene enlisting so soon would help him
forget about the past. I think enlisting would make him reflect on the past more and think about the
things he used to do. Gene was having a rough night because he had a lot on his mind. At first he was
thinking about his responsibilities, his parents and what he owed Devon. He thought his mind was
going to be wondering all night but someone took all of Gene s thoughts away, Everything throughout
the day faded like that first false snowfall of the winter. Phineas was back (Knowles 102). I was as

John Winthrop Contributions
My paper will be on John Winthrop who I chose because of the impact he made on America as we
know it today and because of his Christian background and influence. I was initially interested in him
because he was one of the major players from Europe who caused this nation to be founded under
God, if you will, and is clearly an influential man in American history. Now that I have read more
about him I realize he played an even larger role than I imagined. John Winthrop left all that he knew
to go spread the gospel and create a city on a hill to shape a nation and despite all the hardships he
faced, he never abandoned his efforts or ideals and that is a man I would love to talk to and learn from.
John Winthrop is a significant figure in American history because he, along with a few others, laid the
foundation for America as we know it today and put in place many of the ideals and principles that we
still base our government and lives on in the present. Winthrop was with the group who were the first
to govern a colony from within the colony, helped introduce and influence the people to adopt a
government in which the people ruled and elected those making the laws and ruling over them,
introduced the idea of separation of Church and State, helped establish a program of public and private
education and a grammar school in Boston as early as 1635. Some people even call John Winthrop the
Father of New England and America s Forgotten Founding Father. If I could actually come face to
face with John Winthrop, one of the questions I would ask him is Why he would move to America to
start the Massachusetts Bay Colony when he was doing well where he lived in England and knew the
great risks of going? To this question, I believe that Winthrop s initial and main reason would be that it
was God s plan and purpose for him in order to spread the gospel into those parts of the world and
become an example, a city on a hill, for the rest of the world. I believe he would answer this way
because of the things he writes in a Model of Christian Charity and because he had come upon some
hardships in England around this time that he said he believed were God s way of preparing him to be
willing and open to

Use Of Forecasting Techniques For The Graduate Tuition...
This paper seeks to examine the use of forecasting techniques as it applies to the graduate tuition rate
at James Madison University. While several methods and techniques of forecasting could have been
used, I focused primarily on the Least Squares Regression technique, as it relates to projections, to
project the rates for the next ten years. Projected rates were slightly comparable to actual rates,
though, other techniques are not assumed to reduce the error of projected graduate tuition rates.
James Madison University is a comprehensive university in the Shenandoah Valley of Harrisonburg
Rockingham County, Virginia. Since it s start in 1954, the graduate school has focused its efforts on
the education of its students at a reasonable cost. Although tuition has risen over the years, it can be
assumed that this is possibly due to the rising costs of operation. In recent years, 2009 2014, the cost
has increased by 34% ($305 to $410) for in state students. Similarly, there has been an increase in out
of state tuition by more than 20% ($890 $1095) since 2009. Due to the rate increases over the past five
years, I project that the cost will continue to rise over the years.
The aim of our forecasting is to provide information about possible future changes in tuition rates. In
general, the three approaches to forecasting, projection, prediction, and conjecture, all seek to produce
information about future trends we expect to examine in society; however, they do so in various

Nature Vs Nurture Personality
In psychology the question of what factor affecting personality most has been constantly debated with
many theories around the conclusion. The two factors concerning nurture or nature have been picked
apart and compared and contrasted to see what might be a dominant factor. It still seems that one is
not more overpowering than the other but the question still remains of what is the leading trait in
personality? Personality is how we interact to the world around us and our behaviors we express. The
underlying causes although and why each and every person is uniquely different with a personality all
their own is from the nature and nurture perspective. Personality in a technical sense is described as
the visible aspect of ones character and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
nurture can be correct, each person has their own opinion. More facts are being discovered on both
sides each day to support either nature or nurture. I know from my point of view that both are very
important but with the help of changing the environment, it could help change negative trait s in a
personality. Either way we are all individual with no two personalities exactly identical. Both nature
and nurture are important, yet it is all in how you perceive it. Each one impacts our personality in
more ways than one. To conclude I say that overall the affect of nurture, environment plays a greater
impact based on the evidence I gave above. We all gain genetic traits from our parents, but our
environment and our availability to knowledge to handle those traits can affect the personality as

Greek Drama In Mr. Nobody
Elements of Greek Drama in Mr. Nobody
Summary
Mr. Nobody is an amazing science fiction journey following Nemo Nobody. The movie might be
confusing at first, but the pieces all start fitting together to show his multiple lives and experiences.
Each life that Nemo goes through shows almost every possibility, every single thing that could go
horribly wrong or beautifully right. (You should really watch this if you haven t, but I might be ruining
it for you by writing this essay.)
One can find Greek drama elements in almost every piece of literature or film, but Mr. Nobody can be
a difficult film to discover these elements. Because of the purposeful confusion in the story it could be
a struggle to link the true with fictional and find a specific element. This movie is though filled with
Greek drama elements that help the story flow and make sense to the audience. The first noticeable
element is the prologue where Nemo, the main character in this film, is a child narrating how his
parents met and raised him. Before Nemo comes into the world, he is in a bright, cloudy room with
many other children where they wait to get touched by angels so that they could forget the spiritual
life before birth. The only problem is is that Nemo didn t get touched and he was forgotten; meaning

one way or went to meet Nemo at the lighthouse, then they would have been together after decades of
being apart from their love. This love is what later on ruins Nemo s

Mao Zedong Analysis
In order for a revolution to occur, it is essential to have a leader the revolutionaries can unite under; a
leader as persistent as Mao Zedong. Mao s birth into the peasant class taught him about the rigid social
structures of China at a young age, as he recognized the strife peasants endured on a daily basis. He
knew how they thought and emphasized with their thirst for equity in China s rigid social society
(Calkins). As Mao grew older, his recognition of the oppressed class allowed him to develop an
affinity towards the principles of Marxism Leninism, which were utilized in restoring China to its
original greatness (Zedong qtd in Lynch 4). Mao believed that the peasants fury and desperation was
powerful enough to spark a communist revolution, leading to equality and justice in China (Lynch 3).
The peasants who were mistreated for so long rose to the occasion of Mao s advocating for their
rights. His popularity and influence among the masses of China was increased. Mao rose to power by
1949 through increased peasantry support, giving him the authorization to change China into a
communist country.
Prior to the Second Chinese Civil War, Mao gained the loyalty of the oppressed class through
presenting his ideology in a flattering fashion. Mao allowed his followers to know he recognized their
strife, and taught them the importance of confidence and violence in a revolution. He brainwashed
them with promises for a New China so they d believe he himself was

Song Analysis Of Penthouse Cloud
I have chosen a song entitled Penthouse Cloud sung by the band The Internet which was released in
2015. Based on the lyrics, there are a lot of significant linguistic foregrounding included in the song
using the techniques of parallelism and deviation.
First of all, the parallelism shown from the lyrics can be analyzed through repetition, phonological and
syntactic/grammatical elements. The repetition can be seen in the bridge of the song; It s a war
outside, It s a war outside, It s a war outside which is repeated for 3 times. Next, for the phonological
element, there are many rhyming style of the verses from the song which are;
1) Father who art in heaven, Is this how you saw it when you made your creation? [n]
2) And the sky turns ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are also some verses that have the syntactic/grammar parallelism which are;
1) Is this how you saw it when you made your creation?, Is this what you wanted?, Is this what you
wanted?
2) Or maybe we ll find paradise in the sky when we die, When we die, When we die, yeah
3) And the clouds turns black, And the sky turns white, And the days turn night
For deviation element, it can be found in term of phonological and semantic aspects. The phonological
deviation from the lyrics can be seen in the verse I ll fight til.. which the word til used the omission of
initial part of the word called aphesis . In the chorus Father who art in heaven , the word art shows the
sub standard pronunciation of old English which refers to are in modern English. For semantic
deviation, the verse Or maybe we ll find paradise in the sky can be considered as a metaphor sentence
since it is absurd to the mind of the listener as it is a matter of unseen world where the place of
paradise cannot be found literally in the sky. The most significant features that stand out the most are
the verses that are repeated thrice in the lyrics; It s a war outside and when we die that used the
technique of parallelism. For deviation element, they are the ones that contain question marks which
being emphasized by the singer to make the listener of the song focuses more on the issue given
through the theoretical

Social Problems
According to Ferreira (2005:86), four elements may be discerned when attempting to define a social
problem. The four elements are: a pressure (influential) group; a social condition; a set of values and
norms; and collective action.
Taking these four elements as building blocks the following definition of a social problem may be
arrived at: A social condition, known to a pressure group as posing a threat to current values and
norms, that requires collective action to rectify (Pretorius, Le Roux, Lesufi, Liebenberg, Martin
Rautenbach Zegeye in Ferreira 2005:87).
In the sections that follow I will attempt to clarify each one of the four elements that constitute the
definition of a social problem.
The crux of the matter here regards ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, Africa s rate of urbanization is second to none (Tibaijuka in de Beer, du Plessis, Liebenberg
Moloi 2005:116). At the eve of independence, during the 60 s for a handful of African countries,
urbanization, in most cases, was well sought after (social condition). Western powers had developed
following paths of industrialization and urbanization and the same was thought possible in Africa
(pressure groups). The basic tenants of this assumption went as follows: Capital distributed from the
West to Africa was to be invested in industrial enterprises in centers that wielded political power. This
newly found industry would promote manufacturing and encourage domestic savings. Jobs would be
created and the capital accumulated reinvested in development projects (de Beer et al 2005: 115 125).
And thus, by following this path Africa would become self sufficient (values and norms).
However, five decades later Africa has failed to develop as rapidly or to the extent to which the West
has. Urban poverty escalates daily. A handful of problems face the African city: insufficient provision
of jobs, poorly delivered public services, a weakening revenue base, and escalating pollution levels.
According to de Beer et al. (2005:116 117), it is projected that by 2030 half of Africa s population will
have become urbanized, most of whom will live in poverty (social problem).
There are some solutions on offer. Urban agriculture, albeit somewhat controversial, has

Differences Between The Second Triumvirate
Prior to the formation of the second Triumvirate, Julia Caesar had been brutally assassinated, which
plunged Rome into another Civil War. The second triumvirate was formed when the Lex titia was
passed in 43BC, making the position of Anthony, Lepidus and Octavian the highest constitutional
office in the Roman state. As Scullard stated, In place of the dictator Caesar, there were now three
dictators. The second Triumvirate was created to strengthen political control and used their power to
legally hunt down those who had conspired to kill Caesar. This resulted in Civil War between the
Second Triumvirate and Brutus and Cassius at the Battle of Phlipii 42, which undermined the
authority of the Senate as most leaders died in battle. Eventually,

Doe Fandom
Fandom is one of the defining concepts in the modern society. But what exactly makes it so
important? The answer is fairly simple. Fans. „It is fans who identify and build an audience (Branston
and Stafford, 2006). The people, who, out of their own free will participate and create communities
which are based around a certain artefact of their choosing. These communities then proceed to debate
and often create their own content, which is subordinate to their chosen text, such as any fan work
fanfiction and fan art or memes (Slade, Narro and Givens Carroll, 2015). While any work created by
fan originates from its source, many create their own endings, surroundings and in some cases decide
to rewrite the original with them as a main character or a character with supporting role to the main
protagonist, sometimes even adding themselves as a romantic interest. Another way of expressing
their feelings is a cosplay costumes created and perfected to resemble their favourite characters.
Although, cosplays are actually a combination of the costume itself and role playing, so that the fan
can resemble the character as similarly as possible. They then proceed to be photographed and
perform as said character. But while most of these interactions happen outside, it ... Show more

The story is important but so are cultural references. It must have a basis, be grounded in something
shared and commonly understood (Stasi in Slade, Narro and Givens Carroll, 2015:298). Now, there
are several ways how these fans articulate inside their chosen communities. A common way used to be
gatherings, or simple email corresponding. But in the last ten years the most prominent way was
certainly the online fandom gatherings. Slade, Narro and Givens Carroll states, that digital fandom
strengthen fans sense of belongingness due to the fact that online communities exhibit a deeper

  • 2. The Hero Of Jesus Christ It is common for people to have a hero they admire and strive to be like. Often these heroes are people such as athletes, celebrities, world leaders, and family members. These ordinary people become heroes because of desirable attributes they exhibit. These characteristics are ones that people can relate to, characteristics that give birth to a desire to elevate oneself to be a hero to others. Such is my hero. My hero was born long ago to two devoted parents that loved him dearly. Life was not easy for him or his family; nevertheless, he grew up and became strong. Even though he was the son of a lowly carpenter, he learned of his divine calling and rose to the challenge that came with the call. The challenges that afflicted him in his life molded him into the hero I see him to be. He is Jesus Christ, a man with amazing attributes and my hero. Christ had many great and marvelous attributes. He lived his entire life by these attributes and encouraged others to develop these same values. He magnified a way for others to find happiness and meaning. These attributes are the reason Jesus Christ is my hero. One of Christ s greatest attributes is love. He loved everyone. He loved the poor, the wealthy, the young, and the old. Through his example, people around him felt more inclined to love. When an individual is filled with love, they develop a strong desire to serve others. People sacrifice time and resources to serve others less fortunate then themselves without thinking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. A Feminist Perspective On Women All across the world women are being discriminated against for their gender. Feminism is the movement to combat this. Though there are many misconstructions to what being a feminist means, Webster s Dictionary defines feminism as the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes. Feminism is not about one gender being above the other but allowing both to be equal in all ways. Sexism is expressed in varies different ways. In countries like America, the sexism faced is shown through things such as the wage gap and gender roles. In other countries, however, such as Indian and China, the sexism faced is more extreme and the women are in more sever danger. Some people do not believe there is a need for a feminist movement, and that women have equal rights. One huge issue that women face is the wage gap. People argue that laws such as the Equal Pay Act has gotten rid of the need for women s suffrage, but a wage gap still exists. For every dollar a man makes, the average white woman makes 78 cents. African American women make 64 cents and Hispanic women averagely make a mere 56 cents to the man s dollar. Something that affects women s earnings is lower work hours and their years with zero earnings due to family care. Women workers in their prime earning years earned 62% less than men, or only $0.38 for every dollar men earned. During that 15 year period, the average woman earned only $273,592 while the average man earned $722,693 (in 1999 dollars). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Women s Rights During The Victorian Era Throughout the Victorian era, the women s rights movement began to flourish with advancements socially, politically, and economically; however, increased access to higher education was the most important advancement that was made during this time. Higher education was the most important facet of of the women s rights movement because, without education, women could not gain access to the jobs that supported financial independence, have a voice in scholarly issues, or break free from the societal norm of independence on men. During this time women broke the barrier that kept them from receiving higher education. In addition, there were many advances in the job market in relation to education, as well. In the beginning of the Victorian era, one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The main leader of this movement was the Female Middle Class Emigration Society, which was founded in 1862. During this time, as women were not allowed to take jobs that would allow them to support themselves, women had to marry into financial stability. However, as there were vastly more women than men during this time, so not everyone could have a husband. This problem was extremely perplexing for the Victorian society at the time. The solution, as proposed by women in the feminist movement, was female emigration. Under the guidance of societies such as the Female Middle Class Emigration Society women left Britain and traveled to the colonies, where they could find more job opportunities. The emigration movement aligned with all of the ideals of the feminist movement at the time. The image of women leaving the oppressive patriarchal society to stake their claim in an unknown land thus be able to solidify their independence appealed greatly to many. However, there were many opponents of the movement as well. Women of the upper class society believed that women were not suited for things such as extended travel, or doing work that had been designated as man s work. In addition, many fathers and husbands would not give consent for the women to leave, which was necessary at the time, because they did ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Steel is closely linked to the ferrous scrap industry and the iron ore industry in that its main raw materials are derived from these areas. Because of its chemical properties, steel does not have high product substitutability; therefore world s economies have long been depending on its extensive use. 1.4 Early Market Structure of the Steel Industry Following the post war era of the WWII, steel distribution remained mainly focused on the former USSR, US, and Western European countries. In 1960s, the emergence of Japan as a potential steel manufacturer surfaces, making changes to the early dominant structure of the steel market in the 50s. • 15. Symbolism Of The Arnold Friend There is a point in the adolescence of a child in which they encounter a fork, that can lead one of two ways. The path they end up on is determined by their personal feelings toward the world, the way they have been raised, and who they want to become in the future. In the short story titled, Where are you going where have you been this point is explicitly expressed in the title alone. One of the interpretations of this short story is that a man named Arnold Friend liberated a young rebellious girl, Connie, from the torment of her youth. However, in reality the audience is eluded to the symbolism that Connie is being pulled away from her golden innocence and into the arms of Satan himself. Arnold Friend exhibits Satanic traits, and on this symbolic level, a young girl being stripped from her childhood, and into an unforgiving world. The story reveals that Arnold Friend is no boy or friend, he is referred to as a devil like character. As the story progresses, signs are observed that highlight the rebellious girl as she sneaks out, omits information from her parents and is sucked into the teenage culture of the time. One Sunday Connie s family woke up and, none of them bothered with church (Oates), Sunday, in religious settings is historically the Lords Day. Oates isolates this sentence with dashes to set it apart from the rest of the story, foreshadowing the future satanic references. The survival rate five years after diagnosis is very low, at only 5 %. 19 Approximately 90 % of patients diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer survive less than one year, with a median survival of 5 6 months. The high mortality rate is connected to late diagnosis, early metastasis and poor response to chemo and radiotherapy. 34 Pancreatic cancer can be inherited, but 90 % of cases are considered sporadic. 19 The major histological type of pancreatic cancer is ductal pancreatic adenocarcinoma which account for 80 % of the ... Alice, a normal teenage girl, goes through quantum land and understands what quantum is and how it works. The quantum world is a difficult one to understand, as its nature is one of complex states of being, natures, principles, notions, and the like. When these principles or concepts are compared with the macro world, one can find great similarities and even greater dissimilarities between the world wherein electrons rule, and the world wherein human beings live. In Alice in Quantumland, author Robert Gilmore converts the original tale of Alice in Wonderland from a world of anthropomorphic creatures into the minute world of quantum mechanics, and ... Moreover, the principle of superposition states that if the world can be in any configuration, any possible arrangement of particles or fields, and if the world could also be in another configuration, then the world can also be in a state which is a superposition of the two, where the amount of each configuration that is in the superposition is specified by a complex number. Superposition is a principle of quantum theory that describes a challenging concept about the nature and behavior of matter and forces at the sub atomic level. The principle of superposition claims that while we do not know what the state of any object is, it is actually in all possible states simultaneously, as long as we don t look to check. It is the measurement itself that causes the object to be limited to a single possibility. In the novel, the mechanic mentions to Alice the Schrodinger experiment. This experiment was analogous to superposition in the macro world. Schrodinger s experiment was to put a cat, flask of poisonous glass, and a mechanism to break the flask should substance decay in a closed box. Mechanic then stated that the substance may or may not decay, therefore, according to the rules of quantum physics you would have a superposition of states, in some of which the decay would have happened and in others it would not. Gramsci would state that the education system was enabling the hegemonic ideology by consent and perpetrating the false consciousness that this level of attainment and aspiration is normal and entirely appropriate for these young people. Both reincarnation and Karma ideas are merged to stipulate that the thoughts and actions within an individual s present life will play an important role in determining the condition of soul s future existences. There is, therefore, a cause and effect of every action. The motivation of religious and moral activities in Hinduism is to accumulate good Karma so as to free oneself from baneful material thus liberating the soul from the cycle of rebirth (Fisher and Rinehart, 77). According to the idea of rebirth, death only relates to the physical body but the soul continues and is reborn into another body. The continuing worldly existence, the samsara, thus refers to the cycle of repeated births. As already mentioned, reincarnation is dictated by the law of Karma. According to Hinduism, Karma is the law of cosmos leading to the absolute reality (Fisher and Rinehart, 78). The doctrine of Karma sets the world of justice making every action to have an outcome. In this snail experiment, I expect to find the snails changing, so they won t be eaten by the crabs. When changing variation, we were looking to see if the population would still evolve if all the shells started with the same thickness. In this we found that with no variation occurring, the shell thickness didn t change and still were eaten because they couldn t evolve to adapt to the new conditions. Next we experimented with inheritance. We made it to where the offspring would not be identical to the parent snail, growing at a random thickness. Here we saw a more variety in the population. • 31. John Winthrop Contributions My paper will be on John Winthrop who I chose because of the impact he made on America as we know it today and because of his Christian background and influence. I was initially interested in him because he was one of the major players from Europe who caused this nation to be founded under God, if you will, and is clearly an influential man in American history. Now that I have read more about him I realize he played an even larger role than I imagined. John Winthrop left all that he knew to go spread the gospel and create a city on a hill to shape a nation and despite all the hardships he faced, he never abandoned his efforts or ideals and that is a man I would love to talk to and learn from. John Winthrop is a significant figure in American history because he, along with a few others, laid the foundation for America as we know it today and put in place many of the ideals and principles that we still base our government and lives on in the present. Winthrop was with the group who were the first to govern a colony from within the colony, helped introduce and influence the people to adopt a government in which the people ruled and elected those making the laws and ruling over them, introduced the idea of separation of Church and State, helped establish a program of public and private education and a grammar school in Boston as early as 1635. Some people even call John Winthrop the Father of New England and America s Forgotten Founding Father. If I could actually come face to face with John Winthrop, one of the questions I would ask him is Why he would move to America to start the Massachusetts Bay Colony when he was doing well where he lived in England and knew the great risks of going? To this question, I believe that Winthrop s initial and main reason would be that it was God s plan and purpose for him in order to spread the gospel into those parts of the world and become an example, a city on a hill, for the rest of the world. I believe he would answer this way because of the things he writes in a Model of Christian Charity and because he had come upon some hardships in England around this time that he said he believed were God s way of preparing him to be willing and open to ... • 32. Use Of Forecasting Techniques For The Graduate Tuition... This paper seeks to examine the use of forecasting techniques as it applies to the graduate tuition rate at James Madison University. While several methods and techniques of forecasting could have been used, I focused primarily on the Least Squares Regression technique, as it relates to projections, to project the rates for the next ten years. Projected rates were slightly comparable to actual rates, though, other techniques are not assumed to reduce the error of projected graduate tuition rates. James Madison University is a comprehensive university in the Shenandoah Valley of Harrisonburg Rockingham County, Virginia. Since it s start in 1954, the graduate school has focused its efforts on the education of its students at a reasonable cost. Although tuition has risen over the years, it can be assumed that this is possibly due to the rising costs of operation. In recent years, 2009 2014, the cost has increased by 34% ($305 to $410) for in state students. Similarly, there has been an increase in out of state tuition by more than 20% ($890 $1095) since 2009. Due to the rate increases over the past five years, I project that the cost will continue to rise over the years. The aim of our forecasting is to provide information about possible future changes in tuition rates. In general, the three approaches to forecasting, projection, prediction, and conjecture, all seek to produce information about future trends we expect to examine in society; however, they do so in various ... Mao s birth into the peasant class taught him about the rigid social structures of China at a young age, as he recognized the strife peasants endured on a daily basis. He knew how they thought and emphasized with their thirst for equity in China s rigid social society (Calkins). As Mao grew older, his recognition of the oppressed class allowed him to develop an affinity towards the principles of Marxism Leninism, which were utilized in restoring China to its original greatness (Zedong qtd in Lynch 4). At the eve of independence, during the 60 s for a handful of African countries, urbanization, in most cases, was well sought after (social condition). Western powers had developed following paths of industrialization and urbanization and the same was thought possible in Africa (pressure groups). The basic tenants of this assumption went as follows: Capital distributed from the West to Africa was to be invested in industrial enterprises in centers that wielded political power. This newly found industry would promote manufacturing and encourage domestic savings. Jobs would be created and the capital accumulated reinvested in development projects (de Beer et al 2005: 115 125). And thus, by following this path Africa would become self sufficient (values and norms). However, five decades later Africa has failed to develop as rapidly or to the extent to which the West has.
