A1. Viability of Product or Service: Spice King is an Indian Cuisine and Sweets restaurant located in
Renton, WA. Their current site, www.spicekingrenton.com, could use some work to increase their web

In addition to the Dinner and Lunch specials, the coupons are the first thing you see. Although slightly
cluttered, the homepage is very informational. The Curry Box website is updated regularly as Spice
King s site is static. The flow of www.curribox.com is fluent and easy to understand.
www.spicekingrenton.com is written in broken English in places and does not have an easy flow of
information. Having the same targeted market, Spice King would do itself great justice to provide
menu item descriptions in Punjabi. Having a smaller menu, the staff is very knowledgeable on the
items it provides as well as making special adjustments upon customer request. Curry Box does not
seem to offer an option for alternatives. Curry Box has a slogan of When in a hurry for curry ; Spice
King does not have a slogan. Curry Box uses Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin social media sites to
advertise their business. Spice King does not have any social media interaction.
Pabla Indian Cuisine http://www.pablacuisine.com/ is Spice King s competition largely in their sweets.
Pabla offers a variety of Indian sweets priced by the pound. Spice King offers differently priced sweets
considerably less expensive than Pabla s. Spice King however, does not have all their sweets listed on
the site. If I were searching which restaurant to visit and had a sweet tooth, I would go to Pabla

The Effects Of Sports Related Concussions On Central...
ABSTRACT
Sport related concussion is a common injury amongst athletes. This study was conducted in order to
investigate whether or not sport related concussions had an effect on central auditory processing
abilities. The study implemented a case control study design. Two hundred athletes were selected to
participate in this study. One hundred participants served as the case group and had sustained two or
more sport related concussions in a three year period. The other one hundred participants served as the
control group. Concussions were identified by a team physician using the SCAT3. All participants
completed an auditory processing disorder test battery consisting of the PPT, RGDT, Dichotic Digits
Test, CST, Nu 6 Low Frequency Filter Test and a MLD test. An independent samples t test was used to
determine the results.
INTRODUCTION
In 2006, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated that approximately 1.6 million to
3.8 million sport related concussions occur each year in the United States (Langois, Rutland Brown,
Wald, 2006). Sport related concussions are a subset of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and are defined as
a complex pathophysiological process affecting the brain (McCrory et al., 2012). The typical signs and
symptoms associated with a concussion include confusion, amnesia, headache, dizziness, nausea, loss
of balance, and/or poor concentration (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2010).

Sogolonbougou Essay examples
This is a very interesting story narrated by the responsibilities and decisions of two people. The first,
Amadou Diarra is an agent for the Service des Eaux et Forets (Forest Service). His job as an agent was
to manage the nation s forests and enforcing the forest protection laws. While enforcing these laws he
could either make a tribe/person pay the fine or take a bribe. The next key person is the chief of
Sogolonbougou, Djokolo Coulibaly. He also was in a very tough situation. He had to someway figure
out how to manage the land available to the village to produce enough crop to keep the villagers fed.
In doing so he sometimes had to break some forest service regulations to reach the villages harvest
goals, which in return could greatly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since the average income for a Malian was $260, paying the fine would greatly hurt the tribe, sending
the chief to jail is out of the question, and in this situation the authorities won t take a bribe.
This is a very bad situation from the start. Almost every aspect of this situation is bad. The people are
poor, the land is of poor quality, and production of foods and materials is getting tougher and tougher.
What are the people of Sogolonbougou to do? They are simply trying to raise enough crop to keep
from starving and the Forest Service keeps bothering them? Whats the Forest Service to do? They are
simply trying to keep environmentally healthy by setting a few laws and regulating them? These are
the questions that need to be answered to solve the conflict between the Forest Service and
Sogolonbougou.
In my opinion, I realize that it must be tough on the chief of Sogolonbougou to have to try to keep a
village up and running. But as a chief he needs to find other ways to do things. Instead of trying to
clear more land maybe he needs to use the land he has more efficiently. For the forest service they do
have to enforce the laws they set. But I feel the leaders of both groups need to put their heads together
and find a better solution. It seems rather stupid for both

My Bubble Research Paper
In the past, I was not the most outgoing of people. I never spoke over others, and I only opened my
mouth when asked. I always let others walk over me because I feared confrontation. I lived within my
own bubble of safety. As long as I stayed within the boundaries of everything and away from
everyone, I convinced myself that this was the most efficient way to live. No problems with anyone
else, and no problems within my life. Although the life I lived was very safe, it was also very colorless.
This mindset of safety clouded over me and influenced almost all of my choices.
I never seemed to muster up the courage to talk to new people and stayed within my circle of friends. I
never branched out, I never tried out for sports, or the school musical or anything new because I feared
the results would not turn out in my favor. Even food wise, I did not try new things. Growing up in a
Filipino household, I was offered a plethora of diverse cultural foods; I however, had a very strict diet
of apple slices and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. This tied to my mindset of staying within my
safety bubble. Trying new things was against my entire being, as if I would malfunction like a robot
without oil. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I came to the grave realization that our cabinets were dry of all things seemingly edible to me. All
foods that existed within my safety universe had unknowingly all slipped away from me at once. My
mother eventually returned home, hours after wallowing in my famine, which only allowed for my
hunger to grow greater than it has ever been. My ravenous self rejoiced when I saw a white takeout
bag in her hands. I pounced over to her, only for myself to discover my only hope for sustenance was,
mozzarella sticks. This began an internal battle within myself on whether I should allow myself to
starve or try something new, which was far beyond any beliefs that existed for

Essay on Malcolm X
The 1950 s and 1960 s were a time of racial turmoil throughout most of the United States. Segregation
between blacks and whites was still in full effect, African Americans had to drink from different water
fountains, eat at different restaurants, and even shop at different stores than their Anglo neighbors .
Many people and organizations fought valiantly for equality in the U.S. such as Rosa Parks, Martin
Luther King jr. and the NAACP. The roles they played were critical in the civil rights movement were
critical, the actions they took included peaceful demonstrations and marches, public speeches, and
boycotts such as the one that took place in Montgomery, Alabama in 1955. One man stands out among
all of these leaders though, Malcolm X. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Malcolm was able to graduate from his junior high school at the top of his class. He was aspiring to
become a lawyer, but after one of his teachers told him that trying to be one was, no realistic goal for a
nigger , he decided that school was not for him and moved to Boston for awhile and made a living
working a number of jobs, none of which were permanent. Eventually he would find himself working
as a waiter at a restaurant called Small s Paradise in Harlem, New York. It was at this time that
Malcolm Little began using and then selling drugs and even committing burglary. In 1946 he would be
arrested for burglary and sentenced to ten years in prison. It was during his stay at the Charlestown,
Mass. Prison that he would make maybe the most significant change of his life. Malcolm would begin
studying the teachings of Elijah Muhammad, the leader of a small cult like Islamic group that called
themselves the Nation of Islam, he also began to study the Koran (the Islamic holy book). It was

conclusion that he wanted to join Elijah and the Nation of Islam and fight for equality between blacks
and whites. After his

Taming Of The Shrew Comparison
In Shakespeare s comedy, Taming of the Shrew, the writer explores the idea of a woman being the
property of her husband, and having to do everything that he bids her to do. Katherina, the eldest
daughter of the Baptista, is well known for her shrewish attitude. Whereas, her younger sister, Bianca,
is the ideal woman this results to her having several suitors, and Katherina having none. Katherina
eventually marries a man named Petruchio, and through a process, she becomes tamed . This play has
been transposed into several film productions, Zeffirelli s The Taming of the Shrew, and BBC and

productions, Rickards version of Taming of the Shrew seems to ... Show more content on

In Zeffirelli s version, Katherina Minola, played by Elizabeth Taylor, is fierce. Her wild personality is
shown through her messy hair, and dark, heavy make up. Her outfits accentuate her womanly body,
and emphasise her femininity. These factors all seem to lack in Rickards version. Shirley Henderson s
Katherina presents her shrewish personality through her constant scowl that s planted on her face. Her
hair is pulled in a tight bun in most of the film. Her outfits highlight her masculinity, and are usually in
dark colours with straight cuts. Unlike Taylor, Henderson is much more restrained and uptight.
Zeffirelli s Bianca Minola, played by Natasha Pyne, provides a strong contrast to Taylor s Katherina.
Her outfit is in light colours, and are no where near as revealing as Taylor s. In the beginning, she is
seen wearing a veil, and her makeup is minimal. All these factors demonstrate her modesty, innocence
and meekness. Pyne s Bianca is soft and young. Yet again, this is nothing like Jaime Murray s Bianca.
Her occupation is a model, meaning she is glamorous. Her outfits are flamboyant and feminine. Both
films captured the characters personalities through the casting, and appearances. However, Zeffirelli s
is a much more traditional rendition, and Rickards portrays a more modern version of the

Equal Opportunity in the Army
Propelled by the civil rights movement of the 1960s and to counteract a national policy of segregation
and inequality, the Department of Defense (DoD) mandated race relations training in 1971. The violent
and nonviolent disorders of the late 1960s were the catalyst that convinced military leaders that race
relations education must be provided to every member of the Armed Forces. An inter service task force
examined the causes and possible cures of these racial disorders within the military. The task force,

have occurred, moving the Army s EO program from a strictly educational and training initiative to a
multifaceted management program with clear goals and objectives. These goals and objectives are also
an integral part of human relations and are nurtured and developed through a professional military
education system. The concept of the EO program is to formulate, direct, and sustain a comprehensive
effort to maximize human potential. It strives to ensure fair treatment of all soldiers is based solely on
merit, fitness, capability, and potential in support of readiness. EO philosophy is based on fairness,
justice, and equity. It places the responsibility for sustaining a positive EO climate within a unit on its
commander. The U.S. Army will provide EO and fair treatment for military personnel and family

The Pros And Cons Of Human Genetic Engineering
With the advent of Darwin s theory of evolution came curiosity; What would the next stage of human
evolution look like? Then came the discovery of genes, and mankind s curiosity was piqued; What if
we could alter our genes to our liking? However, now that we are finally on the verge of cracking the
genetic code, we must ask ourselves; Should we use this technology? This single question has fueled a
fiery debate among a variety of groups in modern times, but where does the heart of the debate lie?
One could argue that there is an issue of fact, as we don t know all the potential applications human
genetic engineering (henceforth called HGE) could have, but many uses of the technology have
already been identified. Therefore, the heart of the debate lies in the quality of these applications and
whether we should allow the research of HGE to continue.
But who are the interested parties in this debate? While this is an issue that affects our entire species,
there are a few groups who hold certain values and beliefs that have an impact on their opinion of
HGE. A major group involved in HGE discussion are the geneticists themselves, who generally seek to
defend their work. One such geneticist is Dr. George Church, a professor at Harvard, whose work in
genetics has caused a great deal of controversy among the scientific community. Dr. Church s work in
HGE revolves around a revolutionary genetic tool known as CRISPR, which allows researchers to cut
DNA from anywhere in the genome and

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Fibromyalgia Essay
BACKGROUND
Fibromyalgia is a chronic disease characterized by several somatic symptoms including chronic
musculoskeletal achiness, stiffness, and exaggerated tenderness at specified tender points
(1). In the past, research analyses of the specified causes of this disease have been deemed
inconclusive. It has been said that various psychological and physiological complications can initiate
the events that lead to the development of fibromyalgia including psychological trauma, physical
trauma, and/or certain viruses (i.e., Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV) (2). Accrued evidence from
neuroimaging of the brain has shown that patients with fibromyalgia experience pain differently than
those without the disease due to dysfunction in the central nervous system responses and detection of
pain stimuli (1). The most recently updated criteria for diagnosis of fibromyalgia includes scores on
the Widespread Pain Index (WPI) and on the Symptom Severity
Scale (SS) score of 7 or higher or 5 or higher respectively or a WPI score of 3 6 and an SS score of 9
or higher (6). Individuals must also experience symptoms at a similar level of severity for at least three
months (6). Although fibromyalgia is incurable, it is treatable and non life threatening
(5). It is estimated to affect 900,000 Canadians currently and women are estimated to be four to nine
times more likely to develop fibromyalgia than men (3). In 2014, it was found by Statistics
Canada that among Canadians 12 years or older, 1.7%

A Brief Note On The Quality Of Service
Abstract: The Quality of service in general refers to capability to provide flawless, fast and consistent
communication across the network. The factors that influence QoS are error rates, bandwidth,
throughput, transmission delay, availability, jitter, etc. Any network must provide secure and reliable
service and to achieve this it needs to consider the above factors. Hence we can say that the QoS of a
network is a set of factors to efficiently use the resources of the network. I am using the above factors
to measure the QoS of different networks and compare them.
Introduction:
In recent times Quality of Service has emerged as one of the important topics for research. QoS can be
defined as the all round performance of a computer network. Any network is expected to provide
secure and reliable service. QoS helps provide better service and this can be made possible either by
increasing the priority of a flow or by decreasing the priority of another flow and this flow can be
managed by using congestion management mechanisms. If a network capacity is insufficient then the
QoS becomes an important factor, for example for real time streaming multimedia applications like
Skype, online games, youtube etc., as in such applications if the delay is too much then the purpose of
the application will not be served. The factors that influence Quality of Service are: Error rates
Bandwidth Throughput Transmission Delay Availability Jitter

Cuyahoga River Fires
In the United States, a concerted effort is underway to reduce water pollution and thereby improve
water quality. (Keller) A case history of river pollution is the Cuyahoga River located in Northeastern
Ohio. The river is 100 miles long flowing south to Cuyahoga Falls where it then turns north until it
empties into Lake Erie. Cleveland and Akron are two major cities located along the river. The
Cuyahoga is known as an infant glacial river, this is because it is one of the youngest river created
from the melting of the glaciers. It is estimated that the river is about 13,000 year old. The story of the

In 1952 a fire caused a million dollars worth of damage to river boats and riverfront businesses. On
June 22, 1969 another river fire engulfed the river, this time the media coverage captured the attention
of the nation. Time Magazine described the Cuyahoga as the river that oozes rather that flows and in
which a person doesn t drown but decays . Many of the residents of Cleveland accepted the pollution
as a necessary evil because they had jobs at these factories. This article helped the people of Cleveland
pass a 100 million dollar bond to clean up the Cuyahoga River. Much of the industry that both made
Cleveland rich and caused its river to burn may never be coming back. The costs of these fires were
tremendous, but it did help lead to laws being passed to prevent this from happening in other rivers.
One such law was the Clean Water Act of 1972.
The Clean Water Act (CWA) is the primary federal law in which the US governs water pollution. The
Act states the objectives of eliminating releases of high amounts of toxic substances into water. The
CWA made it unlawful to dump toxic materials into navigable, waters unless given a permit. The

The Importance Of Computer Technology In Education
The past few decades have been marked by rapid development in computer technology from the early
days of the mainframe computers in the 1960s to the current age whereby the gap between computer
technology and everyday life has reduced immensely. There is no doubt that computers have
permeated everyday life from their use in almost all aspects of life from the social aspects through
social media, to their use in making everyday life better in every way. However, an argument brought
to the fore postulates that there has been an overreliance on computer technology to the point where
humans are unable to function without them. While one school of thought argues that this is true by
highlighting that various functions such as medical examinations can only be done using computer
technology, another points out that there is need to develop human ability without necessarily relying
on computers.
Education as a source of creativity Sir Ken Robinson, in his video on how schools kill creativity,
highlights that the current education system doesn t promote creativity among school children through
various ways. He argues that while creativity is essentially focused on coming up with original ideas
that are often wrong, school feigns on mistakes thereby acting as a deterrent to the development of
creativity. Herrera (2016) reiterates Robinson by pointing out that children should not be fought when
they are wrong rather, they ought to be provided with an opportunity to fully express

Later, he would say, The love for justice that is in us is not only the best part of our being but it is also
the most true to our nature. Then my story with Caser Chavez starts from here, and I think it would be
very useful if I start to describe the historical path of Modern Mexican American movement in order to
make a sense of Chavez legacy. From different historical resource we learned that the origins of
Mexican Americans in the United States today go back to the days of the Spanish who first came to
Mexico and then expanded north into the Southern United States, especially into the Southwest. While
The Mexican Revolution in 1810 drove the Spanish out of Mexico and Mexican territory, the Mexican
War from 1846 to 1848 ended Mexican control of the Southwest, and this is what explains the process
of forming another American minority that so called Mexican Americans, and like any other minority
of that era, they suffered losing power, land, and wealth. To stand against inequality, injustice, and
discrimination, we, as Mexican Americans, formed different organizations that to take a collective
actions in order to achieve our goals of equality, justice, and civil rights. For example the
Confederacion de Uniones de Obreros Mexicanos (CUOM) was formed in 1927 in Los Angeles. It
proved to be the first really stable organization among Mexican workers. They organized three
thousand workers into twenty locals, and in 1928 they struck in the Imperial Valley.

The Road To Serfdom Analysis
Hayek is known for his thoughts and ideas about knowledge. He said that knowledge is unique to the
time and day and is very individualized for each person. He also stated that we cannot make general
rules about anything because the things that we are studying and/or trying to make rules about are
always changing. Therefore, if make rules, as soon as we make them they could be false. In chapter 10
of Hayek s book, The Road to Serfdom, he explains how and why the worst people get on top
politically. Hayek says, There are strong reasons for believing that what to us appear the worst features
of the existing totalitarian systems are not accidently by products, but phenomena which
totalitarianism is certain sooner or later to produce . Throughout ... Show more content on

Hayek even says that is it easier to have, hatred of an enemy, on the envy of those better off, than on
any positive task . Many friendships and alliances are built on the hatred of the same person or similar
people. Usually, these friendship and alliances are the most close knit together because they have a
common plan. It is also better from their point of view to be in the alliance than outside of it.
Therefore, if a candidate has a hatred of one person or a group of people, it is seen as advantageous to
be in the alliance rather than out of it. Hayek adds, it seems to be an indispensable requisite in the
armoury of a totalitarian leader (143).
All of these negative factors contribute to how and why the worst get on top. From the outside looking
in, it may be easy to say to yourself, no way this is possible. I would never stand behind someone with
low morals, I m not gullible, and even if we had the same enemy, that wouldn t mean that I would
support him/her. Hayek gives the example of the Jewish in Germany. People formed a common hatred
for the Jewish and this led to some very negative outcomes. Hitler led this and actually had people

I have aquirred the knowledge to understand that our society is constantly striving to compete with
eachother. Competition is introduced at a young age as we begin school and develop the desire to be
the best of the best through sports, grades and hobbies. When growing old, personal characteristics are
established through ideal lifestyles and societies standards. Anyone below the average of societies
standards is the equivalent to a 21st century slave. Those who fail to meet academic requirments will
become a victim to the all powerful educated warriors of our time. The educated wo]arriors have not
only mastered the art of influential linguistics, but have learned how to use these powers to their full
potential ona regular basis. These skills put people onto a pedestal of success as they look down upon
the tongue tied slaves who fail to gain victory. This competition becomes and entertaining game as
people become part of a victorious army or become a slave to their mistakes. List makes refrence to
this comedic idea when he states The comedy is watching the wordless confront the word warriors . I

Why to Select Third Party Tools to Manage Server and...
Microsoft has equipped the organizations with the Windows server operating system and other server
tools like Exchange Server, SQL Server, SharePoint Server, etc. In addition, there are inbuilt server
tools like DNS Server, DHCP Server, File Server, and Active Directory to create a complete
networking infrastructure inside an organization. However, the server and networking management
using the traditional Microsoft tools become obsolete at a level. In this blog post, we ll discuss how
these tools fail to serve the purpose and why the need of using third party tools arises.
Scenarios
1. Managing Users in Large Organizations
Let us suppose a case of a large organization has fifty different departments, each of which contains
hundreds of employees segregated on different positions. A large IT helpdesk of at least 70 or more
members is at least required to meet the IT requirements in this case. Suppose the IT staff is required
to create the user accounts of 200 new users who ve to join in the different departments next week,
audit 300 users of five departments, and to keep a check on the file modifications on the file server to
trace the unauthorized accesses to the sensitive data. How much time will they take for these three
tasks? Almost three to four weeks, but the management wants them to complete this task in four days
without a hit to the daily demands of troubleshooting the computers, managing the networks, seeing
the logon/logoff, and other work. Is it possible? The

The Importance Of Innocence And Experience By William Blake
Innocence and Experience: How William Blake Challenged Society
(More background on Blake here and how he came up with innocence/experience)
(https://www.mtholyoke.edu/courses/rschwart/hist255/jkr/romanticism.html) Romanticism was a
literary movement that swept through virtually every country of Europe, the United States, and Latin
America that lasted from about 1750 to 1870. This period included philosophy, art, music, literature.
(https://www.bl.uk/romantics and victorians/articles/the romantics) Romantics believed that men and
women should not be guided by rules placed on them by society but led by warm emotions that
promoted a sense of freedom. William Blake was one of the poets that began the Romantic Age who
promoted self expression but was weighed down by the importance and standards of religion. Literary
work during Romanticism had a strong emphasis in implementing nature, emotion over logic,
imagination over reason, and no division between art and literature. These works placed focus on
human personality affected by political and social causes. These became dominant themes in romantic
poetry which made literature much more complex. In the late eighteenth and nineteenth century, child
labor in England was prominent after the Great Fire of London in 1666. After this massive fire in
London, chimneys had to be built slimmer due to new regulations to keep the city safer. Chimney
sweeping was done by poor boys at ages as young as four after they were sold.

Essay On Caliticia Science Center
On Friday, May 26th, I went and visited the California Science Center. The California Science Center
has a lot of exhibits regarding biology such as the rot room, ecosystems and kelp center. The
admission to the California Science Center itself is free and requires no ticket with the exception of
special exhibits. When I visited the center on friday, I visited the whole center, with the exception of
the new exhibit called the Body World: Pulse. During my visited I learned the difference between the
Arctic and Antarctica and how both are typically confused because they are both cold, windy and dry.
However, the Arctic is ocean surrounded by land and Antarctic is land surrounded by ocean. Besides,

It was strange experience touching animals that were alive, they almost seemed fake. In elementary
school, I remember doing this same activity. In this exhibit I learned that animals have a tear shaped
body to reduce resistance to ocean movement. The Center also has a small exhibit that talks about the
deep ocean. The deep ocean, a common mystery, had very little exhibit information besides interesting
samples of animals that live in the deep ocean. The samples were very small and colorless. In fact, the
exhibit mentioned that these creatures lived under very high pressure and darkness. There were various
samples that demonstrated the great amount of pressure the deep ocean has. Several students dropped
styrofoam cups and heads to the ocean and were received fully crushed and in miniature form.
However, what I found most interesting was the fact that as pressure increases, buoyancy decreases.
This was exhibited through an activity they had which had a balloon in a water tank and as you
manually increased the pressure up to 20 psi, the balloon sinked to the bottom of the tank. What I
found the most interesting was a small part of the kelp center that had a breeding tank of Brine shrimp.
The shrimp were tiny specks and under a microscope were tiny, clear objects that floated. The center
had two sets of funnels side by side, one for adult shrimp and one for hatching shrimp. They both were

Reality And Moral Truth In Herman Melville s Benito Cereno
The fictionality in Herman Melville s Benito Cereno draws the reader s attention to the difference
between fictional and moral truth, or the truth as it happened versus the truth as it is interpreted.
Fictionality is when the line between fact and fiction is purposely blurred by the author in order to
illuminate a truth for the reader; it is when the author alters reality to create a more fitting stage for the
story. The truth that is revealed through the fictionality tends to be a moral truth, such as a life lesson
or universal certitude. Throughout this short story, the submerged message of abolitionist thought is
hidden beneath layers of lies, speculations, and altered facts. The story is based on true events, and it is
this idea of a hidden truth underneath the constructed reality that echoes throughout the work. By
changing the year the events take place, the author subtly alters the context of the story, but the
underlying truth remains constant. It is with these clues and fictionality that Melville explains the
difference between factual truth and the deeper truth that transcends moments, events, or even people.
This inner truth is told underneath the story itself, which emphasizes the perception of the participants.
The difference between perception and truth is that one changes with the facts, and the other does not.
There is a truth in something like a novel, a moral truth, that exceeds a purely realistic story from life.
The fictionality that Melville uses to

Baseball Is A Man s Sport
In this world there are many things that are similar in some ways, but are completely different in
others. In the world of sports there are in most cases a men s version of a sport, and a women s version
of a sport, like fastpitch softball and baseball. Softball and baseball are similar sports, both use the
same items to do the same job. Each individual player uses a ball, glove, helmet, bat, and cleats to
accomplish the goals to play the games of softball and baseball. The goals are to have more runs than
the other team at the end of the game. However, these two sports are not exactly alike like many
spectators suspect they are.
The main difference in softball and baseball are the players. Generally, baseball is a man s sport with
the rare exception of women playing. However, girls usually stop playing baseball when they grow
older because girls cannot play in the MLB. Therefore, they go to the next closest thing to baseball
which is softball.
When it comes to pitching in softball and baseball one should be able to spot the difference
automatically. In baseball the pitchers throw the baseball over hand while in softball the pitchers throw
the softball underhand. Since softball players throw softballs underhand there is a difference in the
pitching rules compared to baseball. Softball players do not have a rule on how many innings they are
allowed to throw, while baseball has a strict limit on how many pitches or innings they are allowed to
throw. Baseball counts the

Why The Big Five Factor Model ( Ffm ) Structure Was...
The hypotheses were to test different personalities in a group of 9 to 12 years old Inuit children from
northern Canada who speak the Inuktitut language. The questionnaire was prepared based on the
understanding of the Inuit children. The study was conducted using the IPIP measure scales;
(Extraversion, Neuroticism, Openness, Agreeableness Conscientiousness), (Goldberg, 1999) and the
Big Five Factor Model which measure the personality factors of the Big Five (Costa McCrae, 1992).
The four goals of Psychology was taken into consideration using the 25 item translated questionnaire
with a 5 point Likert scale.
Introduction:
The purpose of this study was to assess if the Big Five Factor Model (FFM) structure was appropriate
for Inuit children using the IPIP questionnaires.
FFM originated from the United States and is currently used by psychologist around the world in
various applications. The model suggests that personality traits are universal and can fit well in a cross
culture testing (Costs McCrae, 1995).
Triandis (2000b) supports that cross cultural and indigenous psychologists do not use the same
personality tests instead the psychologist constructs an equivalent measure taking into consideration
the sensitivity of the culture.
The FFM when further split into six facets allows a broader analysis of the personality traits providing
an advantage if the questions were translated into the Inuktitut language. The translated single item test

Analysis Of 911 By Michael Burke
Hero. A word that has 7.442 billion different definitions and or examples. An author named Michael
Burke; a writer for the Wall Street Journal, writes to persuade wealthy people who have a strong
influence on the daily world to recognize a problem that happens yearly on a single date.9/11. First
responders or better known as the heros of 9/11 were sent to a different location to watch their own
ceremony at ground zero, all while congressmen sit and take their seats at the real ceremony. This all
arises due to the upcoming 10th anniversary of 9/11. He builds his argument through the use of
organization and pathos.
First and foremost, it was thought that Mr. Burke would never get his his point across. This is what
makes his organization so important. Burke drags his thesis out to three quarter of the article at a point
which he switch his focus to the real point at hand. For weeks ordinary New Yorkers and visitors from
out of town attended there hundreds of memorial services across the city and area suburbs... Fifth
Avenue New York s main street came to a halt Right after the horrific event people everywhere were
mourning the loss of thousands including the lives of first responders. This quote or changing point
marks the start of the real point of the article. To this day it should be assumed that they would be
honored at ground zero at a memorial yearly to thank them for their sacrifices and thank the families
of the ones who made the ultimate sacrifice. But as Burke

Character In Looking For Alibrandi By Melina Marchetta
Describe at least one character or individual in the written text who was an important example to
young readers.
Explain why this character or individual was an important example to young readers.
A character in the book Looking for Alibrandi by Melina Marchetta who was an important example to
young readers was the protagonist Josephine Alibrandi herself. Through the changes in Josie s life, she
was able to develop her character mentally that resulted in better bonds with many of her family
members. By the end of the book the young readers are clearly able to witness how the positive
changes that Josie went through have helped her to find a balance between her Italian heritage and
Australian Nationality. The main idea of Josephine Alibrandi s mental development was shown after
John Barton s death. Josephine discovers to value her identity, and change her approach towards life.
John Barton was a close friend of Josie, with whom she had a potentially competitive and romantic
relationship with. Throughout the book, John Barton is extremely unhappy and feels pressured by his
family to be what he is not, as a result he ends his life. John s death was a huge loss to Josie yet it was
an opportunity for her to develop mentally at the same time. In the book, Josephine reflects on 17
years of her life where she has cursed her Italian heritage as that s what made it different from the
people around her. We see this when she says If there s anything I would have to escape in

The Virtue Of Civil Disobedience
The clock struck noon. Harry automatically put his head down when the orderlies entered the room.
He realized that avoidance wouldn t help, but self preservation was instinctual. At the top of every
hour, they had entered the waiting room. Their white smocks stained a bit redder than when they last
left. It was all very routine; the clock strikes, two people enter, three people leave. It would continue
until there was no one left. Harry breathed a sigh of relief, when they took the lady next to him. She
was the ideal citizen and had gone with them willingly. Her mind conditioned since infancy to do
so...it was the law; absolute obedience was guaranteed to the state. The law passed when he was a
child. At that time, there was no reason

Cash Flow Hedging
I (briefly) worked for a notorious figure in the FX industry whose favorite dictum was: That which
gets measured gets made. Trite but true; well thought out performance metrics are critical in
optimizing results and there is plenty of anecdotal evidence showing how various failures in the
workplace can be traced back to poorly constructed or out of date practices.
Shareholders certainly have common ways of measuring the performance of publicly owned
companies: quarterly earnings, revenues, and expenses among others. Given the international nature of
most businesses, foreign exchange can obviously have a significant impact on results, and yet these
FX impacts are often poorly understood, both inside and outside the company.

For this reason, the gains or losses from the cash flow hedges are more likely to be allocated to the
various businesses and regions within the company, and therefore the need to understand the impacts
goes well beyond the Treasury team. Since these hedging impacts often show up on the revenue and
expense lines of the income statement, they become important for investors to understand as well.
When done well, the financial, strategic, and operational benefits of hedging can go beyond merely
avoiding financial distress by opening up options to preserve and create value. But done poorly, FX
hedging can overwhelm the logic behind it and can actually destroy more value than was originally at
risk. Perhaps individual business units hedge opposite sides of the same risk, or managers expend too
much effort hedging risks that are immaterial to a company s health. Managers can also underestimate
the full costs of hedging or overlook natural hedges, instead applying costly financial ones.
Nevertheless, a few simple pointers can help avoid problems and make hedging strategies more
effective.

Analysis Of Half A Day By Naguib Mahfouz
Time was a system created to help us organize our lives, but isn t it just a ticking clock telling us how
much we have left? In order to the get the most out of our lives, we use must use it wisely. In Half a
Day by Naguib Mahfouz, he shows the reader that you must live life because it will quickly pass you
by. He demonstrates this by having the character experience new things, time passing quickly, and
showing evolution. When the young boy doesn t want to go to school, he is forced to experience
something new. As he approaches the new school he is attending his father tells him Today you truly
begin life. (Mahfouz 85). The significance of this quote is that the young boy is trying something new.
If he wouldn t push himself to experience this new thing, he wouldn t be taking advantage and using
what all life has to offer. Go in by yourself. (Mahfouz 85) says his father. Because his father is trying
to push him to do new things, this shows that the author was trying to convey that you have to venture
out, even if on you own. You have to experience new things to truly live life before the clock stops
ticking and you run out of time. Dry your tears and face life joyfully. (Mahfouz 86). When one of the
woman at the new school make this comment, it shows the young boy that he has to face life and enjoy
it rather than shy away from the new things. She direct states that you must live joyfully , so that
shows me that the author wanted the boy to realize he must live life

How Have Cigarette Ads Changed Over The Years
While researching information for the group assignment our group found that over the year s cigarette
ads have changed tremendously. Diego decided to study ads created in the 1960 s where ads were
targeted at every marketing group possible. The ads were promoted as something everyone was doing.
Even the Flintstone cartoon characters were used in cigarette commercials. Companies promoted
cigarettes as a product that not only has a great tobacco taste, but is also quiet refreshing and soothing.
Most ads during this time period involved couples where the leading man attracted the women with his
cool refreshment of the cigarette. Other ads tried to persuade smokers to get rid of the old items that
are not working out so great such as their choice of cigarettes, and switch over to their Kool cigarettes.
Every company tried convince consumers that their cigarettes were better than the ... Show more

Here, advertisements moved away from being short films as seen in the 60 s and focused solely on
their sales pitch. A lot of commercials still kept the couples romance theme, but added a catchy song
along with a nice jingle that pulled in the viewers attention. Other companies decided to include
coupons that could be used to purchase other retail items at a discounted price to draw in customers.
During the 90 s cigarette companies were forced to make the consumer aware of the hazardous issues
cigarettes could cause but were still pretty amazing to smoke. Even with customers knowing the harm
cigarettes could do to your health, people still had the urge contaminate their bodies for a puff of
nicotine. Around this decade one company decided to throw a new product into the tobacco business
by selling something to help people give up the bad habit of smoking. Little did they know, this
product would change the tobacco market over the next few

What Does God Mean To Me Essay
God is everywhere, God watches and cares for you and is something different to everyone. To me,
God is a higher power that is always there to comfort you and forgives you no matter what. God
watches over you, protects you, and cares for you. Whenever I am either confused or in need of some
advice, I know that God is always there to help me. Additionally, the images and ideas that I have
about God are that God is in everything. He is in the plants and nature s beauty, and in dogs and other
living things. I know I see God in things when I need the advice. For example, when I have a hard day
and I come home and my dog is excited to see me, I see that God is watching out for me and wants me
to realize that someone or something is always excited to see me. It helps me see the glass half full
instead of half empty. Lastly, some significant events that have shaped my view of God and who he is
to me are hiking and school. Whenever I go hiking and see the beauty around me that God has created
in this world, I change my view on him and realize the beauty God creates. Additionally, when I go to
school my image of God changes too. In class, whenever other people bring up their perspectives of
God and where they see him, I think back to my image of God and how what someone said affects my
image or changes it. Overall, God is a provider and someone who watches over me through nature and
other living things. Additionally, throughout our world, there are many issues that the Catholic

Breastfeeding has been shown to exert a protective effect on females. In multiple case control and
cohort studies, the difference in the two groups at hand in relation to breast cancer risk were the length
at which they breastfed (Chen, 2013). In another meta analysis, it was shown that duration of maternal
nursing correlates with substantial risk reduction independent of either parity or age at first full term
pregnancy (Lippman, 2012).
Physical activity. Increased physical activity has many benefits to the average human, however, for
women it is postulated to reduce breast cancer risk. Although the exact mechanism is unknown, it is
thought to do so through hormonal influences, such as reducing serum estrogens, insulin, and insulin
growth factor 1 levels (Chen, 2013). In another recent review, it was estimated that risk of breast
cancer was reduced by 25 percent among physically active women compared with women who were
the least active (Lynch, 2011).

The Crisis Of The Soviet Union
This paper is attempting to look at the deeper financial and policy issues in which the country Ukraine
faced during their financial crisis in 2008 09. The Ukraine faced a lot of economical and political
challenges in recent years, in which their economy has plummeted drastically. Economic
measurements such as GDP, unemployment, and average household incomes all were impacted in a
negative way. Other factors, such as the Russian gas line, forced Ukrainian businesses to cut back on
costs, further hindering their overall economy. Doing research, we have strong findings that prove how
much the economy has fallen compared to earlier years. 1. Introduction After collapse of the Soviet
Union, Ukraine was one of the left over countries that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2. Russian Gas Line The reason why the crisis started, however, was how the Ukraine economy was
set up in the first place. Their economy was heavily tied with their politics. Focusing on more so what
happened in the country rather than why it happened leads us to see that Russia recently cut off the gas
line between the two countries. (BBC, 2014) This was an important resource, not only for the
Ukrainian people, but also for many Ukrainian businesses. Ukraine s economy relies heavily on
Shipbuilding, steel and arms. However, because many industries are so energy inefficient, they are
highly dependent on imports of Russian gas, which have been heavily subsidized. (BBC, 2014) When
Russia cut off the gas line, Ukrainian businesses were hurt and forced to cut costs in order to make a
profit. Many of their businesses ended up firing workers so their businesses were able move back to
their individual equilibrium. Because this happened, Ukraine s unemployment rate increased
dramatically along with a decrease in real wages for employees. (BBC, 2014) Traditionally, Ukraine
has had a close economic relationship with Russia, with the two former Soviet republics having a

Viability of Product or Service: Spice King is an Indian Cuisine and Sweets restaurant located in Renton, WA. • 3. The Effects Of Sports Related Concussions On Central... ABSTRACT Sport related concussion is a common injury amongst athletes. This study was conducted in order to investigate whether or not sport related concussions had an effect on central auditory processing abilities. The study implemented a case control study design. Two hundred athletes were selected to participate in this study. One hundred participants served as the case group and had sustained two or more sport related concussions in a three year period. The other one hundred participants served as the control group. Concussions were identified by a team physician using the SCAT3. All participants completed an auditory processing disorder test battery consisting of the PPT, RGDT, Dichotic Digits Test, CST, Nu 6 Low Frequency Filter Test and a MLD test. An independent samples t test was used to determine the results. INTRODUCTION In 2006, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated that approximately 1.6 million to 3.8 million sport related concussions occur each year in the United States (Langois, Rutland Brown, Wald, 2006). Sport related concussions are a subset of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and are defined as a complex pathophysiological process affecting the brain (McCrory et al., 2012). The typical signs and symptoms associated with a concussion include confusion, amnesia, headache, dizziness, nausea, loss of balance, and/or poor concentration (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2010). • 4. Sogolonbougou Essay examples This is a very interesting story narrated by the responsibilities and decisions of two people. The first, Amadou Diarra is an agent for the Service des Eaux et Forets (Forest Service). His job as an agent was to manage the nation s forests and enforcing the forest protection laws. While enforcing these laws he could either make a tribe/person pay the fine or take a bribe. The next key person is the chief of Sogolonbougou, Djokolo Coulibaly. He also was in a very tough situation. He had to someway figure out how to manage the land available to the village to produce enough crop to keep the villagers fed. In doing so he sometimes had to break some forest service regulations to reach the villages harvest goals, which in return could greatly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since the average income for a Malian was $260, paying the fine would greatly hurt the tribe, sending the chief to jail is out of the question, and in this situation the authorities won t take a bribe. This is a very bad situation from the start. Almost every aspect of this situation is bad. The people are poor, the land is of poor quality, and production of foods and materials is getting tougher and tougher. What are the people of Sogolonbougou to do? They are simply trying to raise enough crop to keep from starving and the Forest Service keeps bothering them? Whats the Forest Service to do? They are simply trying to keep environmentally healthy by setting a few laws and regulating them? These are the questions that need to be answered to solve the conflict between the Forest Service and Sogolonbougou. In my opinion, I realize that it must be tough on the chief of Sogolonbougou to have to try to keep a village up and running. But as a chief he needs to find other ways to do things. Instead of trying to clear more land maybe he needs to use the land he has more efficiently. For the forest service they do have to enforce the laws they set. But I feel the leaders of both groups need to put their heads together and find a better solution. It seems rather stupid for both ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. My Bubble Research Paper In the past, I was not the most outgoing of people. I never spoke over others, and I only opened my mouth when asked. I always let others walk over me because I feared confrontation. I lived within my own bubble of safety. As long as I stayed within the boundaries of everything and away from everyone, I convinced myself that this was the most efficient way to live. No problems with anyone else, and no problems within my life. Although the life I lived was very safe, it was also very colorless. This mindset of safety clouded over me and influenced almost all of my choices. I never seemed to muster up the courage to talk to new people and stayed within my circle of friends. I never branched out, I never tried out for sports, or the school musical or anything new because I feared the results would not turn out in my favor. Even food wise, I did not try new things. Growing up in a Filipino household, I was offered a plethora of diverse cultural foods; I however, had a very strict diet of apple slices and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. This tied to my mindset of staying within my safety bubble. Trying new things was against my entire being, as if I would malfunction like a robot without oil. ... All foods that existed within my safety universe had unknowingly all slipped away from me at once. My mother eventually returned home, hours after wallowing in my famine, which only allowed for my hunger to grow greater than it has ever been. My ravenous self rejoiced when I saw a white takeout bag in her hands. I pounced over to her, only for myself to discover my only hope for sustenance was, mozzarella sticks. This began an internal battle within myself on whether I should allow myself to starve or try something new, which was far beyond any beliefs that existed for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Essay on Malcolm X The 1950 s and 1960 s were a time of racial turmoil throughout most of the United States. Segregation between blacks and whites was still in full effect, African Americans had to drink from different water fountains, eat at different restaurants, and even shop at different stores than their Anglo neighbors . Many people and organizations fought valiantly for equality in the U.S. such as Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King jr. and the NAACP. The roles they played were critical in the civil rights movement were critical, the actions they took included peaceful demonstrations and marches, public speeches, and boycotts such as the one that took place in Montgomery, Alabama in 1955. Eventually he would find himself working as a waiter at a restaurant called Small s Paradise in Harlem, New York. It was at this time that Malcolm Little began using and then selling drugs and even committing burglary. In 1946 he would be arrested for burglary and sentenced to ten years in prison. It was during his stay at the Charlestown, Mass. Prison that he would make maybe the most significant change of his life. • 8. Taming Of The Shrew Comparison In Shakespeare s comedy, Taming of the Shrew, the writer explores the idea of a woman being the property of her husband, and having to do everything that he bids her to do. Katherina, the eldest daughter of the Baptista, is well known for her shrewish attitude. Whereas, her younger sister, Bianca, is the ideal woman this results to her having several suitors, and Katherina having none. Katherina eventually marries a man named Petruchio, and through a process, she becomes tamed . This play has been transposed into several film productions, Zeffirelli s The Taming of the Shrew, and BBC and Rickards Shakespeare Retold; The Taming of the Shrew, are two examples. In Zeffirelli s version, Katherina Minola, played by Elizabeth Taylor, is fierce. Her wild personality is shown through her messy hair, and dark, heavy make up. Her outfits accentuate her womanly body, and emphasise her femininity. These factors all seem to lack in Rickards version. Shirley Henderson s Katherina presents her shrewish personality through her constant scowl that s planted on her face. Her hair is pulled in a tight bun in most of the film. Her outfits highlight her masculinity, and are usually in dark colours with straight cuts. Unlike Taylor, Henderson is much more restrained and uptight. Zeffirelli s Bianca Minola, played by Natasha Pyne, provides a strong contrast to Taylor s Katherina. Her outfit is in light colours, and are no where near as revealing as Taylor s. In the beginning, she is seen wearing a veil, and her makeup is minimal. All these factors demonstrate her modesty, innocence and meekness. Pyne s Bianca is soft and young. Yet again, this is nothing like Jaime Murray s Bianca. Her occupation is a model, meaning she is glamorous. Her outfits are flamboyant and feminine. Both films captured the characters personalities through the casting, and appearances. Equal Opportunity in the Army Tech Communication Robert Snyder Research Paper Equal Opportunity in the Army Propelled by the civil rights movement of the 1960s and to counteract a national policy of segregation and inequality, the Department of Defense (DoD) mandated race relations training in 1971. The violent and nonviolent disorders of the late 1960s were the catalyst that convinced military leaders that race relations education must be provided to every member of the Armed Forces. The situation in today s Army is clearly much different from what existed years ago. Many changes have occurred, moving the Army s EO program from a strictly educational and training initiative to a multifaceted management program with clear goals and objectives. The concept of the EO program is to formulate, direct, and sustain a comprehensive effort to maximize human potential. It strives to ensure fair treatment of all soldiers is based solely on merit, fitness, capability, and potential in support of readiness. EO philosophy is based on fairness, justice, and equity. It places the responsibility for sustaining a positive EO climate within a unit on its commander. • 10. The Pros And Cons Of Human Genetic Engineering With the advent of Darwin s theory of evolution came curiosity; What would the next stage of human evolution look like? Then came the discovery of genes, and mankind s curiosity was piqued; What if we could alter our genes to our liking? However, now that we are finally on the verge of cracking the genetic code, we must ask ourselves; Should we use this technology? This single question has fueled a fiery debate among a variety of groups in modern times, but where does the heart of the debate lie? One could argue that there is an issue of fact, as we don t know all the potential applications human genetic engineering (henceforth called HGE) could have, but many uses of the technology have already been identified. Therefore, the heart of the debate lies in the quality of these applications and whether we should allow the research of HGE to continue. But who are the interested parties in this debate? While this is an issue that affects our entire species, there are a few groups who hold certain values and beliefs that have an impact on their opinion of HGE. A major group involved in HGE discussion are the geneticists themselves, who generally seek to defend their work. One such geneticist is Dr. George Church, a professor at Harvard, whose work in genetics has caused a great deal of controversy among the scientific community. Dr. Church s work in HGE revolves around a revolutionary genetic tool known as CRISPR, which allows researchers to cut DNA from anywhere in the genome and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Symptoms And Symptoms Of Fibromyalgia Essay BACKGROUND Fibromyalgia is a chronic disease characterized by several somatic symptoms including chronic musculoskeletal achiness, stiffness, and exaggerated tenderness at specified tender points (1). In the past, research analyses of the specified causes of this disease have been deemed inconclusive. It has been said that various psychological and physiological complications can initiate the events that lead to the development of fibromyalgia including psychological trauma, physical trauma, and/or certain viruses (i.e., Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV) (2). Accrued evidence from neuroimaging of the brain has shown that patients with fibromyalgia experience pain differently than those without the disease due to dysfunction in the central nervous system responses and detection of pain stimuli (1). The most recently updated criteria for diagnosis of fibromyalgia includes scores on the Widespread Pain Index (WPI) and on the Symptom Severity Scale (SS) score of 7 or higher or 5 or higher respectively or a WPI score of 3 6 and an SS score of 9 or higher (6). Individuals must also experience symptoms at a similar level of severity for at least three months (6). Although fibromyalgia is incurable, it is treatable and non life threatening (5). It is estimated to affect 900,000 Canadians currently and women are estimated to be four to nine times more likely to develop fibromyalgia than men (3). Russia wanted Korea so that they would have a port on the Pacific Ocean, for both trade and military reasons. • 15. A Brief Note On The Quality Of Service Abstract: The Quality of service in general refers to capability to provide flawless, fast and consistent communication across the network. The factors that influence QoS are error rates, bandwidth, throughput, transmission delay, availability, jitter, etc. Any network must provide secure and reliable service and to achieve this it needs to consider the above factors. Hence we can say that the QoS of a network is a set of factors to efficiently use the resources of the network. I am using the above factors to measure the QoS of different networks and compare them. Introduction: In recent times Quality of Service has emerged as one of the important topics for research. QoS can be defined as the all round performance of a computer network. Any network is expected to provide secure and reliable service. QoS helps provide better service and this can be made possible either by increasing the priority of a flow or by decreasing the priority of another flow and this flow can be managed by using congestion management mechanisms. If a network capacity is insufficient then the QoS becomes an important factor, for example for real time streaming multimedia applications like Skype, online games, youtube etc., as in such applications if the delay is too much then the purpose of the application will not be served. The factors that influence Quality of Service are: Error rates Bandwidth Throughput Transmission Delay Availability Jitter Quality of Service Factors: Error Rates: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cuyahoga River Essay Daniel Groves Environmental Geology Case Study November 22, 2011 Cuyahoga River Fires In the United States, a concerted effort is underway to reduce water pollution and thereby improve water quality. (Keller) A case history of river pollution is the Cuyahoga River located in Northeastern Ohio. The river is 100 miles long flowing south to Cuyahoga Falls where it then turns north until it empties into Lake Erie. Cleveland and Akron are two major cities located along the river. The Cuyahoga is known as an infant glacial river, this is because it is one of the youngest river created from the melting of the glaciers. It is estimated that the river is about 13,000 year old. Time Magazine described the Cuyahoga as the river that oozes rather that flows and in which a person doesn t drown but decays . Many of the residents of Cleveland accepted the pollution as a necessary evil because they had jobs at these factories. This article helped the people of Cleveland pass a 100 million dollar bond to clean up the Cuyahoga River. Much of the industry that both made Cleveland rich and caused its river to burn may never be coming back. The costs of these fires were tremendous, but it did help lead to laws being passed to prevent this from happening in other rivers. One such law was the Clean Water Act of 1972. The Clean Water Act (CWA) is the primary federal law in which the US governs water pollution. The Act states the objectives of eliminating releases of high amounts of toxic substances into water. The CWA made it unlawful to dump toxic materials into navigable, waters unless given a permit. The permit is given through the EPA s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System. • 17. The Importance Of Computer Technology In Education The past few decades have been marked by rapid development in computer technology from the early days of the mainframe computers in the 1960s to the current age whereby the gap between computer technology and everyday life has reduced immensely. There is no doubt that computers have permeated everyday life from their use in almost all aspects of life from the social aspects through social media, to their use in making everyday life better in every way. However, an argument brought to the fore postulates that there has been an overreliance on computer technology to the point where humans are unable to function without them. While one school of thought argues that this is true by highlighting that various functions such as medical examinations can only be done using computer technology, another points out that there is need to develop human ability without necessarily relying on computers. Education as a source of creativity Sir Ken Robinson, in his video on how schools kill creativity, highlights that the current education system doesn t promote creativity among school children through various ways. He argues that while creativity is essentially focused on coming up with original ideas that are often wrong, school feigns on mistakes thereby acting as a deterrent to the development of creativity. Herrera (2016) reiterates Robinson by pointing out that children should not be fought when they are wrong rather, they ought to be provided with an opportunity to fully express ... From different historical resource we learned that the origins of Mexican Americans in the United States today go back to the days of the Spanish who first came to Mexico and then expanded north into the Southern United States, especially into the Southwest. While The Mexican Revolution in 1810 drove the Spanish out of Mexico and Mexican territory, the Mexican War from 1846 to 1848 ended Mexican control of the Southwest, and this is what explains the process of forming another American minority that so called Mexican Americans, and like any other minority of that era, they suffered losing power, land, and wealth. To stand against inequality, injustice, and discrimination, we, as Mexican Americans, formed different organizations that to take a collective actions in order to achieve our goals of equality, justice, and civil rights. He also stated that we cannot make general rules about anything because the things that we are studying and/or trying to make rules about are always changing. Therefore, if make rules, as soon as we make them they could be false. In chapter 10 of Hayek s book, The Road to Serfdom, he explains how and why the worst people get on top politically. Throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hayek even says that is it easier to have, hatred of an enemy, on the envy of those better off, than on any positive task . Many friendships and alliances are built on the hatred of the same person or similar people. Usually, these friendship and alliances are the most close knit together because they have a common plan. It is also better from their point of view to be in the alliance than outside of it. Therefore, if a candidate has a hatred of one person or a group of people, it is seen as advantageous to be in the alliance rather than out of it. Hayek adds, it seems to be an indispensable requisite in the armoury of a totalitarian leader (143). All of these negative factors contribute to how and why the worst get on top. From the outside looking in, it may be easy to say to yourself, no way this is possible. I would never stand behind someone with low morals, I m not gullible, and even if we had the same enemy, that wouldn t mean that I would support him/her. William Blake was one of the poets that began the Romantic Age who promoted self expression but was weighed down by the importance and standards of religion. Literary work during Romanticism had a strong emphasis in implementing nature, emotion over logic, imagination over reason, and no division between art and literature. These works placed focus on human personality affected by political and social causes. These became dominant themes in romantic poetry which made literature much more complex. • 24. Reality And Moral Truth In Herman Melville s Benito Cereno The fictionality in Herman Melville s Benito Cereno draws the reader s attention to the difference between fictional and moral truth, or the truth as it happened versus the truth as it is interpreted. Fictionality is when the line between fact and fiction is purposely blurred by the author in order to illuminate a truth for the reader; it is when the author alters reality to create a more fitting stage for the story. The truth that is revealed through the fictionality tends to be a moral truth, such as a life lesson or universal certitude. Throughout this short story, the submerged message of abolitionist thought is hidden beneath layers of lies, speculations, and altered facts. The story is based on true events, and it is this idea of a hidden truth underneath the constructed reality that echoes throughout the work. By changing the year the events take place, the author subtly alters the context of the story, but the underlying truth remains constant. It is with these clues and fictionality that Melville explains the difference between factual truth and the deeper truth that transcends moments, events, or even people. This inner truth is told underneath the story itself, which emphasizes the perception of the participants. The difference between perception and truth is that one changes with the facts, and the other does not. There is a truth in something like a novel, a moral truth, that exceeds a purely realistic story from life. The fictionality that Melville uses to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Softball and baseball are similar sports, both use the same items to do the same job. Each individual player uses a ball, glove, helmet, bat, and cleats to accomplish the goals to play the games of softball and baseball. The goals are to have more runs than the other team at the end of the game. However, these two sports are not exactly alike like many spectators suspect they are. The main difference in softball and baseball are the players. Generally, baseball is a man s sport with the rare exception of women playing. However, girls usually stop playing baseball when they grow older because girls cannot play in the MLB. Therefore, they go to the next closest thing to baseball which is softball. When it comes to pitching in softball and baseball one should be able to spot the difference automatically. In baseball the pitchers throw the baseball over hand while in softball the pitchers throw the softball underhand. Since softball players throw softballs underhand there is a difference in the pitching rules compared to baseball. The model suggests that personality traits are universal and can fit well in a cross culture testing (Costs McCrae, 1995). Shareholders certainly have common ways of measuring the performance of publicly owned companies: quarterly earnings, revenues, and expenses among others. When the young boy doesn t want to go to school, he is forced to experience something new. As he approaches the new school he is attending his father tells him Today you truly begin life. You have to experience new things to truly live life before the clock stops ticking and you run out of time. Dry your tears and face life joyfully. (Mahfouz 86).
