Technology Is Not Science Fiction
Implanted with a Chip People today are enamored with the idea of having the latest, coolest
technologies in their possession, and no matter what comes down the pipeline they will do whatever it
takes to get their hands on it. What would someone do if they found out that there was a piece of
technology that would allow them to unlock their car with the palm of their hand, and start the car
with that same hand just by touching the steering wheel. How about if they could go to the bank and
withdraw money from their account without ever having to pull out their debit card or any form of
identification. Now how about this, someone goes to the grocery store fills their cart with everything
on their shopping list, and then exits the store never having stopped at the checkout counter. This
sounds like a piece of technology that people would want to get their hands on. How would people
react to find out that this piece of technology is not science fiction but indeed science fact? Although
the idea of putting microchip implants in human beings may have many valuable uses, the potential to
make life easier, and seems like the natural progression in technological advancement it should not be
taken lightly. Implanting people with microchips is undoubtedly the wrong direction in which to take
the society; the implementation of microchip implants will be the catalyst that causes everyone to
forgo their freedoms and right to privacy. The microchip implant is being marketed as a possible

Health Maintenance Organization Act Of 1973
I was astounded by the beginning stages of the Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973 which
were presented using a talk between John Ehrlichman and President Richard Nixon; Ehrlichman is
heard uncovering to Nixon that ...the less care they give them, the more money they make, a course of
action that Nixon remarked fine and not horrendous.
An extensive number of us, believe the United States is an extraordinary country. America
encapsulates various morals worth celebrating. Clearly, expressing profound gratitude to God for the
enrichments he has endeavored on this country is more than fitting. It seems, by all accounts, to be, in
any case, that some on the religious right go advance when they talk about American Exceptionalism.

Seven Dwarves Mine Train Essay
New Fantasyland is a new expansion in Walt Disney World, Florida. Announced in September 2009,
construction for this large project, which will end up doubling the size of the previous Fantasyland,
was completed in stages starting in early 2012 and ending this year with the opening of the Seven
Dwarves Mine Train. This project incorporated many different disciplines of engineering, including
mechanical, structural, and software engineering.
Mechanical engineering is the discipline of engineering which involves design and building devices
and machines using the principles of energy, materials and mechanics. It is one of the largest
disciplines, one of the oldest, having been around before it was formally recognised in the 1840s, and

Although this may not be a conventional example of being sustainable, I believe that by addressing
this problem now and not allowing it to fester for future generations to deal with was a very
sustainable move.
Safety issue that would have surrounded this project in the planning process would have included
ensuring that the shape of the tracks of some rides and the speeds at which the ride goes at would be
sufficient and also not too fast to ensure the safety of the passengers, especially with the Seven
Dwarves Mine Train which involves rocking carts, the first roller coaster of its kind. Careful
calculations and many models, both computer and physical, should have been done to ensure that
these are safe for all passengers. Safety issues when actually constructing the project would have
included making certain that visitors to the park were kept away from the construction site, as the park
was fully open during the construction period. So long as tall, appropriate barriers were placed around
the site, this should have been fine.
One of the decisions made when building New Fantasyland was the decision to demolish some
attractions to make way for others.
Some attractions, though popular, were demolished altogether, including:

Donald s boat, a water play area

Black Power Mixtape Analysis
The Black Power Mixtape follows momentous events between 1965 and 1975. It is directed by two
Swedish directors, and their nationality is very important for the layout of the film. The film takes
place during the Civil Rights Movement, and included leaders such as Stokely Carmichael, Angela
Davis, Malcolm X, and Medgar Evers. This was also during the time of the Vietnam War, whom
Sweden saw a useless war. The heads of this country were the Nixon Administration, and Lyndon
Johnson s administration. Furthermore, The Black Power Mixtape included world renowned artists
such as Erykah Badu and Talib Kweli. I had no clue they were so educated on these matters. Also, the
author of our classes textbook, Robin Kelley, spoke. The compilation of information and video
footage was unbiased and fact based. The Black Panther movement was more of the focal point of the
film. This was a pivotal time in American history; as seen through foreign eyes. Also, this is my first
encounter with a foreign perspective of the United States during the Civil Rights Movement. Coming
up in school, no one ever taught me any other perspective on this part of American history. There s no
way possible they could compile ten years worth of events into two hours, but the directors included
information that I have never read before. Next, the era of black power highlighted black nationalism,
black arts, the economic structure of African

Romans, A Wonderful Letter Essay
Romans is a wonderful letter, written by Paul in 56 A.D. to the believers in Rome. At the time of it s
composition, Paul was in Corinth on his third missionary journey. Paul explains that his audience is
the Christians of Rome (1:7), and that his desire is for them to read what he has to say. Paul had
always desired to visit the church of Rome, but had not found an opportunity to do so (1:11). Paul s
purpose in writing to the saints of Rome was to proclaim the gospel to both the Greek and Jewish
believers. As evidenced in Romans 1:16 17, we can see Paul emphatically and passionately scratching
out his letter: I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God s power for salvation to everyone who
believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. For in it God s righteousness is revealed from faith to
faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith . Paul was very intentional and honest to his
audience. He wanted his readers from the beginning of his letter to realize that the gospel is for all
people. This is important for people to grasp. The gospel is for all people, and that is the theme I
would personally use for teaching Romans.
Timeline Setup
All that to say, here is the Romans teaching plan I have constructed. My audience would be found in
small groups. I believe small groups allow for more discussion, more discipleship, more intentionality,
and greater opportunities for open discussion. I would preferably want to teach adults, because

Power In The Scarlet Ibis
The only difference between a hero and the villain is that the villain chooses to use that power in a
way that is selfish and hurts other people (Chadwick Boseman). In Hurst s The Scarlet Ibis, the
narrator chooses to use his power in a way that hurts his invalid brother, Doodle. While living in a
time period where different is improper, the narrator cannot mentally handle the fact that Doodle is
different from others. Being the older sibling, the narrator takes on the responsibility to help Doodle
become ordinary. He teaches Doodle to walk, run, climb, and swim, because he is ashamed of having
a brother with disabilities. As a result, the narrator serves as a villain by forcing his invalid brother,
Doodle, past his limitations, which ultimately causes the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Older siblings feel obligated to take authority over their younger siblings. The narrator took the
responsibility of teaching Doodle to develop into an ordinary boy; however, he supports Doodle out of
selfishness. With this in mind, the narrator changes Doodle s name from William Armstrong to Doodle
because he believes Doodle is not strong enough to have that name. He believes William Armstrong
only sounds good only on a tombstone, (595) so changing Doodle s name was the kindest thing he
could have done. Likewise, the narrator selfishly disobeys the doctor s list of don ts for Doodle
because he doesn t agree with Doodle s limitations. In fact, the narrator hauls Doodle carelessly
around cotton fields and whips him around corners on two wheels of the go cart. As a result, the
narrator decides to take the next step in teaching Doodle. As school approaches, Doodle falls behind
on learning to run, swim, and climb. Therefore, the narrator decides to double his efforts and push
Doodle even harder. I made him swim until he turned blue and row until he couldn t lift an oar.

How Did Abigail Adams Influence The Policies
It is often said that behind every great man stands a great woman. Abigail Adams was the epitome of a
great woman. John Adams relied heavily on his most trusted advisor and wife, Abigail. For example,
in 1798 President John Adams signed the Alien Act to appeal to Abigail s mistrust of immigrants . As
with this decision, Abigail had a very large impact on John Adams political policies. However, he did
not always listen to all her requests, especially during the drafting of the United States Constitution.
Abigail firmly reminded her husband to remember the ladies... [or they will] foment a rebellion , but
he ignored her request. Abigail Adams had more strong views besides just women s rights and
immigration; she also firmly believed in the importance of charity, and the ending of slavery, her
views had influenced John Adams throughout his presidency. The question then is why, or why not,
did Abigail Adams societal views influence John Adams policies? John Adams thought of Abigail as
his wisest friend, in return Abigail Adams never hesitated to argue with her husband on political
matters, especially when it came to equality. Abigail is remembered for the many letters she wrote to
her husband, John Adams, while he was away at the continental congresses. She pressed for ... Show

security of such a fresh country. Her sentiments were fueled by the flood of immigrants that came to
America as a result of the French Revolution. A large majority of the immigrants were in opposition to
her husband as they largely identified as democratic republicans, while she and John were of the
Federalist party. Politically, such a large opposition did not bode well for them. Her influence in
immigration is best seen in the Alien and Sedition Acts. These Acts came into play as a comeback to a
scandal that was dubbed The X, Y, Z

Socrates s Influence On European Culture
Although Socrates never wrote even one book in his life, his thinking and ideas produce an important
impact on European culture. Socrates has always been seen as a saint who died because pursuit for
truth. He claims that he is a sort of gadfly, given to the state by the God, and proud of it. Eventually,
he was charged by Athenian democrats with corrupt the Athenian youth and other charges, and died by
drinking poison in 339BC. In the trial, Socrates refused to intercede for himself. His words which he
speaks in the court, record by his student, Plato. Then we know that he said: An unexamined life is not
worth living.
The unexamined life is not worth living, the individual, special, and unique personality and life, and
the realization of the value of life can only create based on self examination. Also, if we want to self
examine, we cannot without reading and thinking.
What is the unexamined life? In my opinion, the life which is following the crowd, simply copying
other s lives, and only pursues the material enjoyment, is the unexamined life. However, the life like
this is seemed to be the most common life. In this world, the vast majorities of human beings has a
similar or same course of life go to school, go to work, get marriage, have children and so on. If you
ask a person, why do you do this work? I think the most possibility answer might be: I want to buy a

Music Is The Most Popular Genres Of Music Essay
Music has been found in every culture in present time, as well as in the past, dating back almost
55,000 years (citation), with roots in Africa. Music is one of the most basic art forms and is a way of
life for many; a means of expression relative to emotions, culture, and one s self. Music is all around
us and it s hard to imagine going one day without listening to some variety of music. Music has
evolved tremendously from prehistoric times today, but one thing s stayed the same one culture s
music is influenced by the culture as a whole. The period in history directly influences the style and
genre of music. For example, in the mid 1930 s, during the Great Depression, Swing music became
one of the most popular genres of music, because it created an upbeat vibe, which created pleasure and
happiness that hadn t been felt due to the Great Depression. Through music, the American population
was able to experience a sense of joy that was otherwise absent during that period in history. The brain
is an astonishing organ of the human body, comprising the majority of the central nervous system. The
brain has great control over functions of the body, as a whole. The brain allows for thoughts and
actions to be executed on a daily basis. Fundamental functions of the brain include instincts, emotions,
behavior, and concepts (Perlovsky, 2012). Further, the brain constantly develops and transforms,
according to one s environment (nurture vs. nature), behavior, and brain injury.

Walt Whitman s Song Of Myself
In the poem Song of Myself by Walt Whitman persona is all about individualism and
transcendentalism. In the poem, he explains how much he loves the world, especially nature and how
everything fits together just as it should. Whitman thinks everything is good to him and nothing is bad
that doesn t contribute to some larger idea. He believes that people should learn from experiences and
not books. Whitman identifies everyone and everything, including death. His soul takes him on a
journey around the world and all over America. This can be seen when the author says For me those
that have been boys, and that love women, For me the man that is proud and feels how it stings to be

Fetching it to me with full hands; How could I answer the child? I do not know what it is any more
than he (1331). Whitman is delivering the notion that we see in the world as a reflection of our own
dispositions, our own hopes. It can also be seen metaphorically that the grass grows alike in the zones
of rich and poor people, among black folks as among white, and we as human beings ought to live the
same way. We should take lessons from the democracy of the grass, and treat all people equally. I
interpret it in this sense because Whitman lived through the Civil war, and seen a lot of violence.
Dickinson s approach to death is crucial in some of her poems. Emily Dickinson s philosophy on
death was much more traditional, yet she too constantly questioned the Calvinistic beliefs she had
grown up with. Most of her poems cover religion although she didn t write about religion without
mentioning death. Dickinson s poetry can seem confusing or strange to even the most careful reader.
Being brought up in a secular community makes her want to write about death. In her poem, My life
had stood a loaded gun she means Anger can carry us away whether we d like it to or not. While it can
be strangely rewarding to get angry, giving you a sort of high. Feelings of invincibility may suggest

Pros And Cons Of Birth Control
traception
Contraception is used to prevent pregnancy. The use of condoms can prevent pregnancy and protect
against STDs. Other protective barriers, such as dental dams, are recommended for oral sex and
analingus. Some sexually transmitted infections, such as genital warts and genital herpes can be
spread through skin to skin contact, not just penetrative sex. For those in committed relationships who
seek only to prevent pregnancy, there are many forms of birth control, and a healthcare provider can
discuss options and detail what is the ideal form of birth control. There is no single universal method
that works for everyone.
According to Michael McGee, MEd, a certified sexual health educator and adjunct professor at
Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey, sexual health is intimately related to
reproduction. Birth control choices to prevent pregnancy and the steps couples need to take to have a
healthy pregnancy are all aspects of sexual health.
Some factors a qualified physician will take into consideration when discussing options are:
Patient s sexual activity
Previously used birth control methods
Existing medical conditions
Lifestyle and likelihood of taking a daily pill on schedule
Use of tobacco products
Existence of menstrual migraines
Menstrual flow
Personal and family history of blood clots
Existence or history of breast cancer

Essay about Stewardship
Around the world in Christian and secular circles we hear the word stewardship. Not only is
stewardship one of the basic issues discussed in scripture, but it s also something we neglect as
something we need to concentrate on while going through our own Christian walk. We live in a
society that is very individualistic, concentrating on whatever will bring pleasure and make us feel
good. Stewardship definitely doesn t fit into the way society is today. Before going to far into this,
what exactly is stewardship? Stewardship is taking care of or managing every God given resource
with an attitude of responsibility directing such resources for his intended purposes. To truly

There will come a day when we are going to be accountable for all our sins. Standing before Christ,
we will be asked how we plead to these sins, and judgement will occur. Throughout the Bible
stewardship is scattered everywhere, from the Old Testament days of Moses and Abraham to the
teachings of the disciples and Paul. When one carefully studies the word of God, it is truly evident that
we are to be stewards of our total self, not just time, talents, and money. God calls us to give our lives
up, not just our resources.

The term computer virus is often used as a blanket term for all types of malware. The opposite is true.
A computer virus is, simply, yet another type of malware, although one of the most common. This
paper will discuss several of the different types of malware, from viruses, to worms, to Trojan horses,
what exactly they are, the ways they are used to attack us, and ways to combat them. Perhaps the most

The term computer virus is frequently used to describe any software that is used to cause damage to
the computer, although it is merely one type of malware. There are many types of malware currently
in use, and there will likely be many more created. Although there are many similarities between the
different types of malware, there are also many differences in the ways they are created and the ways
they behave.
Common Types of Malware
According to Nate Lord, in an article titled Common Malware Types , found on Infosec Island

Beethoven Symphony No. 3 and Mozart Symphony 40 Forms
Sonata form is one of the more popular forms of music that is found in a variety of different works
including symphonies, concertos, and sonatas. Sonata form features three distinct sections: the
exposition, development, and recapitulation. Mozart was one of the early composers of this form of
music. I will examine the clear distinctions between each section and how he does not stray from the
typical form. In later years the form would change to become more fluent and focused on the growth
and expansion of the piece. This progression of change was led by the works of Beethoven and the
changes can be clearly seen in his grandiose works. By comparing the first movement of Symphony ...

The recapitulation is much like the exposition, except it does not modulate. All of these sections can
be seen in the Mozart and Beethoven movements that are being analyzed and relatively easy to
identify. In the Mozart symphony, sections defined by strong cadences. An easy example would be at
the end of the exposition where there is a PAC in ms. 99. Following that is a rest and then an
appearance of F sharp minor. This is the beginning of the development. The end of the development
ends with a huge forte with a pedal tone and a cadence at ms. 160. The wind section quietly brings the
section to a close as the strings reintroduce the primary theme back in the original key of G minor.
These large sections are not likely to be mistaken. Beethoven too has clearly defined the large sections
of the sonata form. His exposition begins after two opening chords with the theme in the cello section.
The exposition closes with full orchestral chords in a perfect authentic cadence around ms. 144 148
and after a short link/transition the development begins at ms. 166. The development closes with huge
orchestral chords. The big pictures for Mozart and Beethoven line up, but a closer and deeper look
reveal that the small sections are quite different. Mozart s smaller sections continue to remain clearly
defined, but Beethoven tends to blur it all together. In a typical exposition, we expect to find

Analysis Of The Fight By Adam Bagdasarian
Most people make mistakes, they may accidentally do it. When people do this it is more likely that
they didn t think before they actually did it. In the story, The Fight, by Adam Bagdasarian, the
protagonist, a popular boy that got in a fight, named Adam learns to think before he acts. Which could
hurt not only him, but other people too.
One reason why Adam should ve thought before he acted, is that he lost his friend just because of the
fight. So I gave: I gave him the fight, the love notes, the phone calls, the envy, the adulation, and the
arrogant hull of who I had been. If Adam hadn t decided to fight Mike, he never would of had to give
all of this thing up. Once he was on the ground, he realized how much he had lost. This also goes with,
Mike and I glared at each other and went back to our respective homerooms. Mike and Adam wouldn t
of glared at each other if they were friends. They must not like each other very much now. Also, one
of Adams biggest problems was that he really didn t have the animal rage to ball my hands into fist
and thrust them into action. Because of this, he really didn t have any motivations to actually punch
him. He knew it didn t feel like he deserved it or anything. This is important because, it made him
weaker which made him lose his friends because he lost. This why he should of thought before he
acted. If he did think before he acted, he wouldn t of lost a friend.
A second reason why Adam should ve thought before he acted is because now he got humiliated.
When I got there, I saw a crowd of fifty or sixty people awaiting my arrival. If there was less people, I
bet he would of been more comfortable if there was less people watching him. When people were
watching him it maybe made him feel bad if he lost because there would be many people to witness it.
I would be more comfortable if there were less people there, than if there was more. Another example,
is that he saw his ex girlfriend, Linda Lieban. When he saw her, he remembered that he had foolishly
broken up with her. When he saw her, he may have known that if he had lost, there would be no
chance of getting back together with her. It could be that once he saw her, he started to doubt himself
which in the end

U.s. Trade Policy Policies
U.S. Trade Policy Throughout history, the United States trading policies have shifted from early
protectionism intended to generate revenue and support domestic industry growth to a high degree of
free trade within the international trade market (Carbaugh, 2015). In between, policy changes
designed to increase and decrease tariffs were enacted due to pressure from politicians, economists,
industries, citizens and other countries. Yet, emphasized in the ensuing paragraphs, America s
continuous efforts to maintain a sufficient amount of trade tariffs has continuously led to fluctuations
in the domestic economy. Along with the country s practice of protectionism, the policies that
influenced the major changes in tariff rates include the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the initial tariffs laws prospered enough to yield over 90 percent of the federal government s total
revenue, pressures from developing industry leaders urging for a higher degree of protection needed to
combat growing foreign competition overwhelmed the governments revenue motives (Carbaugh,
2015). Highlighted by Alexander Hamilton s propositions to the federal government in 1791, actions
in the form of higher import tariffs and government subsidies were essential to the promotion of
manufacturing within the United States (Irwin, 1996). Consequently, these views fueled a growing
debate and struggle between the North s industry led economy who favored higher duties on imports
and the South s import dependent economy, which relied on lower costs (Carbaugh, 2015). With the
government s passing of the Tariff of Abominations in 1828, their intentions of promoting the
purchase of domestic goods by increasing the price of cheaper foreign products, mostly from English
exporters, enraged the Southern economy due to the record setting tariff duties that were the highest in

Gene Col An American Comic Book Artist
Gene Colan was an American comic book artist best known for his work for Marvel. He is best known
for his work on 1964 Daredevil, Howard the Duck, and The Tomb of Dracula.
Colan was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2005. He passed away in 2011.
Gene Colan s mark making is exceptional. The strokes of the pencil and hatching are used to
communicate form and structure to the figures and elements in his drawings. Solid black would
immensely flatten the images, but the quick hatch work brings energy and life to the characters.
This portrait of a vampire character is a good example of the hatching to create form. The vampire s
hair is swept back away from his face. The marks show this form. The eye brows are ... Show more

The mark making in the man in the last panel align with the contours of his head and face, bringing
form to his features and facial structure. Similar pencil strokes are scene in the crowd, but are less
pronounced when compared to the man in his own panel.
The buildings are successful in the sense of pattern, but are not correct in terms of perspective.
Overall, this page has nice mark making, but lacks in readability.
The black placement in the page brings attention to the areas framed by light. The figures are the focal
point in both panels.
In the first panel, the black placement weights the bed as it recedes into the floor, but then is balanced
out by the cast shadow of the wall in the top left corner. The second panel has a similar effect from the
bed black placement. However, the face on the poster on the wall is staring right at the viewer, and he
becomes the focal point of the room instead of the figures in the bed.
The hatch direction gives form to all the surfaces of the room. The bed covers specifically benefit
from the directional hatching in the folds. The forms also benefit from the directionality.
The artist has left plenty of room for world bubbles and any other text.
The overview of the down shot successfully establishes the anchor points of the room before moving
to a close up on the characters in the bed.
The perspective n the image is misleading, as the back of the bed seems to be

Beowulf and Grendel
Beowulf is a classical epic poem which describes Beowulf s heroic deeds and his acts towards
bringing justice and peace to the Scandinavian society by eradicating Grendel. The original
manuscript (700 1000A.D.) and the modern film (2005) reveals significant differences between the
characters traits and descriptions, an important quotation, descriptions of places, motives, a character s
presence and events that have taken place. Thus, this modern adaptation, Beowulf and Grendel, of an
ancient text, Beowulf, is significantly flawed as any modern adaptation of an ancient text will be. In
the film, specific characters are portrayed differently as they are in the poem. A significant example of
this is from the character, Grendel. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, in the film, Hrothgar awakes in the morning and sees his soldiers slaughtered after a
night of Grendel s killings. He runs up to one of them and kneels beside them and begins to weep and
screams that he should be buried here with them because he cannot do anything to stop Grendel. Here,
Hrothgar is confused and does not know what to do to stop this troll . Even with the arrival of Beowulf
and his heroic stories and confidence to defeat Grendel, Hrothgar is still pictured as a depressed and
weak character. An example in the film that Hrothgar is still confused and depressed even after the
arrival of Beowulf is when Hrothgar and Beowulf argue on the upper floor of the mead hall after two
unsuccessful nights of trying to defeat Grendel. Hrothgar is agitated and impatient to the fact that
Beowulf has still not eliminated Grendel . This argument is an example that Hrothgar is still very
worried and depressed even with the arrival of a great hero, Beowulf. These examples show that King
Hrothgar in the film, is a character that has fell into a permanent depression and lacks courage,
confidence, and leadership qualities. These qualities greatly contrast with the qualities of Hrothgar in
the poem which symbolizes him as a great leader even through times of hardship. Beowulf is written
in the form of Old English and the film is recorded in a modern perspective and many of the poem s
words and quotations are not utilized to its full extent and context. A

The Monroe Doctrine... a Positive
The U.S benefitted Latin America through the implementation of the Monroe Doctrine, which helped
prevented further European colonization. Independence and sovereignty were in the U.S s intentions
for involvement in Latin America, while many European governments saw benefits in overturning
independence and thereby acquiring resources and global power. This paper will use examples of
European colonialism in, Africa, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, to support my claim. Both the

A third incentive of European colonialism was nationalism. Europe wanted to prove its superiority by
colonizing and being in control of as much land as possible. During the period 1850 to 1871, the
nation state achieved its mature status in Europe. Nationalism clearly became the principal basis for
the organization of western civilization. This fact had earlier been demonstrated in England and in
France during the course of their political revolutions. In this period, it became manifest throughout
Europe. Nationalism is a primary motivating element, which determined the course of events in
France during the regime of Napoleon III, Italy where unification was achieved, Germany, where
unification was achieved, Russia where important steps towards modernization were taken, and the
United States, which experienced the Civil War, a war to preserve the union. [7] Nationalism is the
equivalent of American Patriotism and in the same way creates a sense of unification. It appeals to
every member of a nation and regardless of race, gender, social class; it was the promise of benefitting
the entire nation. There were also several incentives for the U.S to get involved in Latin America. The
main focus for the U.S was to keep communism out of the Western Hemisphere. There are several

Personal Items that Defined My Culture Essay
While our parents offer themselves to help us grow as civilized human beings, one of the most
important things they do is present to us our culture. As a small child, my parents introduced me to the
world, and what a wonderful place it can or can t be. Different traditions were taught to me throughout
my years and these developed into the fundamental ideas for my lifestyle and culture. The idea of
culture that we all share is extremely complex, so it is hard to define any parts of it without the use of
symbolism. In order to define my culture, I selected three objects to represent me and my culture in a
broad spectrum. However odd these objects may seem, I chose an aluminum ring, a computer and a
Christmas stocking. These particular items ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the modern day, we use technology to every benefit we can and I am not ashamed of that; my
opinion on the use of technology (specifically computers) is that in quantities of moderation,
technology can exponentially expand the growth of our civilization. For my second cultural object, I
chose my home computer because I can spend upwards of hours upon it each day, primarily doing
work or visiting recreational, social websites and games. The renowned scientist Carl Sagan once said,
We ve arranged a civilization in which most crucial elements profoundly depend on science and
technology. This quotation blatantly applies to modern day society, where it is nearly impossible to
communicate with people without an email or cell phone. The laptop is also an immense part of my
culture regarding schoolwork, where I need the laptop to access the websites teachers use. With so
many hours per day enveloped the laptop, it has grown to be a large part of my daily routine and
culture overall.
The final object I chose to describe my culture is my Christmas stocking. To me this stocking
represents my traditions and faith in an elegant little display. Within the first few months of my birth,
my parents had me Baptized as a Roman Catholic and that has been my faith ever since. We as a
family celebrate the story of Christmas every year with prayer and festivities to go along with our

The ABC Murders Summary and analysis
Summary (Spoiler Alert):
Hastings, Hercule Poirot s partner and assistant, returns to Britain, just as Poirot receives a sinister
letter from an unknown person under the alias ABC. The letter says, that he should look out for
Andover, on the 21st of the month.
Just as stated in the letter, something happens on the 21st. A woman in Andover, named Alice Asher,
turns up dead. On the crime scene an ABC railway guide is found, and Andover is marked. The police
believes that this is just a coincidence, and that the letter and the murder are not connected.
On the very same day, Poirot receives another letter. This time it tells Poirot, to look out for Bexhill on

Analysis of Hercules Poirot:
Hercules Poirot is a cunning belgian private detective. He is a very plain character, and troughout the
film, he does not undergo any changes to his personality. His plain character is very characteristic for
the british crime fictions. This is aimed, towards keeping the puzzle in the center of attention.
Poirot would never engage in violence, instead he uses his famous little grey cells to solve the puzzles.
Poirot does not believe in coincidences, which is seen several times in the film. Even though he is
little, he stands tall.
From start to finish Poirot is teaching Hastings about being a detective, and how to catch the real
clues. This is very common in crime fiction, and it tends to happen quite often in crime novels and
films. This also happens in the Sherlock Holmes novels/films, where Sherlock Holmes is teaching Dr.
Watson how to think, and how to observe.
Poirot is very smart and guileful, in the way he plays tricks on the murdered peoples relatives. He is a
man of pride and dignity, and in his own eyes he is the best detective in the world.

Analysis Of The Poem Dead Man s Dump And Dolce Et...
Issac Rosenberg s Dead Man s Dump and Wilfred Owen s Dolce et Decorum Est both deal with the
problem of watching one s fellow soldiers die in combat. A common and major theme in both works is
the representation of death at war in the two poems. Despite this commonality, while there are
similarities, there are also differences in the poems representations of death on the battlefield. The
difference in the poems representations of death on the battlefield can be seen in the contrast in their
respective tone, usage of imagery, and form alongside the subject matter. In Rosenberg s, Dead Man s
Dump , the poem describes a battlefield and the aftermath of combat. The poem title itself reflects
how the poet, himself, feels regarding war and its different aspects. In a nutshell, the main point that
he is trying to get across to the reader is how demoralizing and gruesome a battle scene is during times
of war. Scattered across the scene are the bodies of the deceased. There is a truck going around,
surveying. All of a sudden, there is a sound; one of the soldiers is still alive. The perishing soldier begs
for the truck of men to find him quick. Unfortunately, by the time they do, they are only in time to
witness his last gasps as he, too, dies. Dead Man s Dump is a war poem which consists of vivid detail
conveying to the reader the brutality of World War I. As a reader, Rosenberg s effective usage of

Code Talkers And Code Talkers
Throughout history, different people are treated with isolation and discrimination. This is shown in our
culture through songs, movies, television shows, and other forms of art in every corner of the world.
For example, the movie and song Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer parallels the oppression of
minorities, specifically with the Code Talkers, in the novel, Code Talkers, by Chester Nez, during
World War II. Since before the beginning of United States history, the people of the United States have
oppressed and repressed the Native Americans that have lived on this land long before them. The lyric,

And for the Code Talkers, years and years later, when they could finally discuss the code, Senator Jeff
Bingaman . . . proposed the Honoring the Navajo Code Talkers Act . . . the act called for recognition
for the code talkers (Nez 256). Both saved the day and both oppressor groups were largely grateful for
their sacrifices and for their differences that made it possible. Also, their differences from the rest of
the world were not only unique, but were hard or impossible to obtain. Rudolph the Red Nosed
Reindeer s talent was obviously that he, had a very shiny nose (Autry 6). This is difficult to obtain
because he was born with it, it was not earned by him and it seems that this phenomenon has never
happened before in the North Pole reindeer world. Likewise, pronunciation of even one Navajo word
is nearly impossible for someone not used to hearing the sounds (Nez 91). This talent can be obtained,
but is seemingly impossible to be learned later in life, as the language was so complex it could be
learned only is one began in infancy (Nez 91). That being said, this talent was in high demand because
of the very small percentage of people who could speak Navajo in the United States and the US
Government could not simply take shortcuts in learning the language because they would need to
grow a colony of Navajo speaking children over the span of about eighteen years. Which, was time no
one had.

  • 2. Technology Is Not Science Fiction Implanted with a Chip People today are enamored with the idea of having the latest, coolest technologies in their possession, and no matter what comes down the pipeline they will do whatever it takes to get their hands on it. What would someone do if they found out that there was a piece of technology that would allow them to unlock their car with the palm of their hand, and start the car with that same hand just by touching the steering wheel. How about if they could go to the bank and withdraw money from their account without ever having to pull out their debit card or any form of identification. Now how about this, someone goes to the grocery store fills their cart with everything on their shopping list, and then exits the store never having stopped at the checkout counter. This sounds like a piece of technology that people would want to get their hands on. How would people react to find out that this piece of technology is not science fiction but indeed science fact? Although the idea of putting microchip implants in human beings may have many valuable uses, the potential to make life easier, and seems like the natural progression in technological advancement it should not be taken lightly. Implanting people with microchips is undoubtedly the wrong direction in which to take the society; the implementation of microchip implants will be the catalyst that causes everyone to forgo their freedoms and right to privacy. The microchip implant is being marketed as a possible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Health Maintenance Organization Act Of 1973 I was astounded by the beginning stages of the Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973 which were presented using a talk between John Ehrlichman and President Richard Nixon; Ehrlichman is heard uncovering to Nixon that ...the less care they give them, the more money they make, a course of action that Nixon remarked fine and not horrendous. An extensive number of us, believe the United States is an extraordinary country. America encapsulates various morals worth celebrating. Clearly, expressing profound gratitude to God for the enrichments he has endeavored on this country is more than fitting. • 4. Seven Dwarves Mine Train Essay New Fantasyland is a new expansion in Walt Disney World, Florida. Announced in September 2009, construction for this large project, which will end up doubling the size of the previous Fantasyland, was completed in stages starting in early 2012 and ending this year with the opening of the Seven Dwarves Mine Train. This project incorporated many different disciplines of engineering, including mechanical, structural, and software engineering. Mechanical engineering is the discipline of engineering which involves design and building devices and machines using the principles of energy, materials and mechanics. It is one of the largest disciplines, one of the oldest, having been around before it was formally recognised in the 1840s, and one of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although this may not be a conventional example of being sustainable, I believe that by addressing this problem now and not allowing it to fester for future generations to deal with was a very sustainable move. Safety issue that would have surrounded this project in the planning process would have included ensuring that the shape of the tracks of some rides and the speeds at which the ride goes at would be sufficient and also not too fast to ensure the safety of the passengers, especially with the Seven Dwarves Mine Train which involves rocking carts, the first roller coaster of its kind. Careful calculations and many models, both computer and physical, should have been done to ensure that these are safe for all passengers. Safety issues when actually constructing the project would have included making certain that visitors to the park were kept away from the construction site, as the park was fully open during the construction period. So long as tall, appropriate barriers were placed around the site, this should have been fine. One of the decisions made when building New Fantasyland was the decision to demolish some attractions to make way for others. Some attractions, though popular, were demolished altogether, including: Mickey and Minnie s walkthrough houses Donald s boat, a water play area Pooh s Playful Spot, a ... • 5. Black Power Mixtape Analysis The Black Power Mixtape follows momentous events between 1965 and 1975. It is directed by two Swedish directors, and their nationality is very important for the layout of the film. The film takes place during the Civil Rights Movement, and included leaders such as Stokely Carmichael, Angela Davis, Malcolm X, and Medgar Evers. This was also during the time of the Vietnam War, whom Sweden saw a useless war. The heads of this country were the Nixon Administration, and Lyndon Johnson s administration. Furthermore, The Black Power Mixtape included world renowned artists such as Erykah Badu and Talib Kweli. I had no clue they were so educated on these matters. Also, the author of our classes textbook, Robin Kelley, spoke. The compilation of information and video footage was unbiased and fact based. The Black Panther movement was more of the focal point of the film. This was a pivotal time in American history; as seen through foreign eyes. Also, this is my first encounter with a foreign perspective of the United States during the Civil Rights Movement. Coming up in school, no one ever taught me any other perspective on this part of American history. There s no way possible they could compile ten years worth of events into two hours, but the directors included information that I have never read before. Next, the era of black power highlighted black nationalism, black arts, the economic structure of African ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Romans, A Wonderful Letter Essay Romans is a wonderful letter, written by Paul in 56 A.D. to the believers in Rome. At the time of it s composition, Paul was in Corinth on his third missionary journey. Paul explains that his audience is the Christians of Rome (1:7), and that his desire is for them to read what he has to say. Paul had always desired to visit the church of Rome, but had not found an opportunity to do so (1:11). Paul s purpose in writing to the saints of Rome was to proclaim the gospel to both the Greek and Jewish believers. As evidenced in Romans 1:16 17, we can see Paul emphatically and passionately scratching out his letter: I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God s power for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. For in it God s righteousness is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith . Paul was very intentional and honest to his audience. He wanted his readers from the beginning of his letter to realize that the gospel is for all people. This is important for people to grasp. The gospel is for all people, and that is the theme I would personally use for teaching Romans. Timeline Setup All that to say, here is the Romans teaching plan I have constructed. My audience would be found in small groups. I believe small groups allow for more discussion, more discipleship, more intentionality, and greater opportunities for open discussion. I would preferably want to teach adults, because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Power In The Scarlet Ibis The only difference between a hero and the villain is that the villain chooses to use that power in a way that is selfish and hurts other people (Chadwick Boseman). In Hurst s The Scarlet Ibis, the narrator chooses to use his power in a way that hurts his invalid brother, Doodle. While living in a time period where different is improper, the narrator cannot mentally handle the fact that Doodle is different from others. Being the older sibling, the narrator takes on the responsibility to help Doodle become ordinary. He teaches Doodle to walk, run, climb, and swim, because he is ashamed of having a brother with disabilities. As a result, the narrator serves as a villain by forcing his invalid brother, Doodle, past his limitations, which ultimately causes the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Older siblings feel obligated to take authority over their younger siblings. The narrator took the responsibility of teaching Doodle to develop into an ordinary boy; however, he supports Doodle out of selfishness. With this in mind, the narrator changes Doodle s name from William Armstrong to Doodle because he believes Doodle is not strong enough to have that name. He believes William Armstrong only sounds good only on a tombstone, (595) so changing Doodle s name was the kindest thing he could have done. Likewise, the narrator selfishly disobeys the doctor s list of don ts for Doodle because he doesn t agree with Doodle s limitations. In fact, the narrator hauls Doodle carelessly around cotton fields and whips him around corners on two wheels of the go cart. As a result, the narrator decides to take the next step in teaching Doodle. As school approaches, Doodle falls behind on learning to run, swim, and climb. • 8. How Did Abigail Adams Influence The Policies It is often said that behind every great man stands a great woman. Abigail Adams was the epitome of a great woman. John Adams relied heavily on his most trusted advisor and wife, Abigail. For example, in 1798 President John Adams signed the Alien Act to appeal to Abigail s mistrust of immigrants . As with this decision, Abigail had a very large impact on John Adams political policies. Music Is The Most Popular Genres Of Music Essay Music has been found in every culture in present time, as well as in the past, dating back almost 55,000 years (citation), with roots in Africa. Music is one of the most basic art forms and is a way of life for many; a means of expression relative to emotions, culture, and one s self. Whitman identifies everyone and everything, including death. His soul takes him on a journey around the world and all over America. It can also be seen metaphorically that the grass grows alike in the zones of rich and poor people, among black folks as among white, and we as human beings ought to live the same way. We should take lessons from the democracy of the grass, and treat all people equally. I interpret it in this sense because Whitman lived through the Civil war, and seen a lot of violence. Dickinson s approach to death is crucial in some of her poems. Emily Dickinson s philosophy on death was much more traditional, yet she too constantly questioned the Calvinistic beliefs she had grown up with. Beethoven Symphony No. 3 and Mozart Symphony 40 Forms Sonata form is one of the more popular forms of music that is found in a variety of different works including symphonies, concertos, and sonatas. Sonata form features three distinct sections: the exposition, development, and recapitulation. Mozart was one of the early composers of this form of music. I will examine the clear distinctions between each section and how he does not stray from the typical form. An easy example would be at the end of the exposition where there is a PAC in ms. 99. Following that is a rest and then an appearance of F sharp minor. This is the beginning of the development. The end of the development ends with a huge forte with a pedal tone and a cadence at ms. 160. The wind section quietly brings the section to a close as the strings reintroduce the primary theme back in the original key of G minor. These large sections are not likely to be mistaken. Beethoven too has clearly defined the large sections of the sonata form. His exposition begins after two opening chords with the theme in the cello section. The exposition closes with full orchestral chords in a perfect authentic cadence around ms. 144 148 and after a short link/transition the development begins at ms. 166. The development closes with huge orchestral chords. The big pictures for Mozart and Beethoven line up, but a closer and deeper look reveal that the small sections are quite different. In the story, The Fight, by Adam Bagdasarian, the protagonist, a popular boy that got in a fight, named Adam learns to think before he acts. Which could hurt not only him, but other people too. One reason why Adam should ve thought before he acted, is that he lost his friend just because of the fight. So I gave: I gave him the fight, the love notes, the phone calls, the envy, the adulation, and the arrogant hull of who I had been. If Adam hadn t decided to fight Mike, he never would of had to give all of this thing up. Once he was on the ground, he realized how much he had lost. This also goes with, Mike and I glared at each other and went back to our respective homerooms. Mike and Adam wouldn t of glared at each other if they were friends. They must not like each other very much now. Also, one of Adams biggest problems was that he really didn t have the animal rage to ball my hands into fist and thrust them into action. Because of this, he really didn t have any motivations to actually punch him. He knew it didn t feel like he deserved it or anything. This is important because, it made him weaker which made him lose his friends because he lost. This why he should of thought before he acted. If he did think before he acted, he wouldn t of lost a friend. A second reason why Adam should ve thought before he acted is because now he got humiliated. When I got there, I saw a crowd of fifty or sixty people awaiting my arrival. If there was less people, I bet he would of been more comfortable if there was less people watching him. When people were watching him it maybe made him feel bad if he lost because there would be many people to witness it. I would be more comfortable if there were less people there, than if there was more. Another example, is that he saw his ex girlfriend, Linda Lieban. When he saw her, he remembered that he had foolishly broken up with her. When he saw her, he may have known that if he had lost, there would be no chance of getting back together with her. As the initial tariffs laws prospered enough to yield over 90 percent of the federal government s total revenue, pressures from developing industry leaders urging for a higher degree of protection needed to combat growing foreign competition overwhelmed the governments revenue motives (Carbaugh, 2015). Highlighted by Alexander Hamilton s propositions to the federal government in 1791, actions in the form of higher import tariffs and government subsidies were essential to the promotion of manufacturing within the United States (Irwin, 1996). Consequently, these views fueled a growing debate and struggle between the North s industry led economy who favored higher duties on imports and the South s import dependent economy, which relied on lower costs (Carbaugh, 2015). With the government s passing of the Tariff of Abominations in 1828, their intentions of promoting the purchase of domestic goods by increasing the price of cheaper foreign products, mostly from English exporters, enraged the Southern economy due to the record setting tariff duties that were the highest in the world (Wilson, 2009). Here, Hrothgar is confused and does not know what to do to stop this troll . Even with the arrival of Beowulf and his heroic stories and confidence to defeat Grendel, Hrothgar is still pictured as a depressed and weak character. An example in the film that Hrothgar is still confused and depressed even after the arrival of Beowulf is when Hrothgar and Beowulf argue on the upper floor of the mead hall after two unsuccessful nights of trying to defeat Grendel. Hrothgar is agitated and impatient to the fact that Beowulf has still not eliminated Grendel . This argument is an example that Hrothgar is still very worried and depressed even with the arrival of a great hero, Beowulf. Personal Items that Defined My Culture Essay While our parents offer themselves to help us grow as civilized human beings, one of the most important things they do is present to us our culture. As a small child, my parents introduced me to the world, and what a wonderful place it can or can t be. Different traditions were taught to me throughout my years and these developed into the fundamental ideas for my lifestyle and culture. The idea of culture that we all share is extremely complex, so it is hard to define any parts of it without the use of symbolism. In order to define my culture, I selected three objects to represent me and my culture in a broad spectrum. For my second cultural object, I chose my home computer because I can spend upwards of hours upon it each day, primarily doing work or visiting recreational, social websites and games. The renowned scientist Carl Sagan once said, We ve arranged a civilization in which most crucial elements profoundly depend on science and technology. This quotation blatantly applies to modern day society, where it is nearly impossible to communicate with people without an email or cell phone. The laptop is also an immense part of my culture regarding schoolwork, where I need the laptop to access the websites teachers use. With so many hours per day enveloped the laptop, it has grown to be a large part of my daily routine and culture overall. The final object I chose to describe my culture is my Christmas stocking. To me this stocking represents my traditions and faith in an elegant little display. Within the first few months of my birth, my parents had me Baptized as a Roman Catholic and that has been my faith ever since. We as a family celebrate the story of Christmas every year with prayer and festivities to go along with our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is shown in our culture through songs, movies, television shows, and other forms of art in every corner of the world. For example, the movie and song Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer parallels the oppression of minorities, specifically with the Code Talkers, in the novel, Code Talkers, by Chester Nez, during World War II. Since before the beginning of United States history, the people of the United States have oppressed and repressed the Native Americans that have lived on this land long before them. Also, their differences from the rest of the world were not only unique, but were hard or impossible to obtain. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer s talent was obviously that he, had a very shiny nose (Autry 6). This is difficult to obtain because he was born with it, it was not earned by him and it seems that this phenomenon has never happened before in the North Pole reindeer world. Likewise, pronunciation of even one Navajo word is nearly impossible for someone not used to hearing the sounds (Nez 91). This talent can be obtained, but is seemingly impossible to be learned later in life, as the language was so complex it could be learned only is one began in infancy (Nez 91). That being said, this talent was in high demand because of the very small percentage of people who could speak Navajo in the United States and the US Government could not simply take shortcuts in learning the language because they would need to grow a colony of Navajo speaking children over the span of about eighteen years.
