Ictober Research Papers
The ink left nothing untouched, staining and smudging the table, scratch paper, and even my hand. A
mess of paper and ink surrounded me, but only one area was left organized. My sketchbook that I
filled with meticulous work and effort for the past 30 days stared back at me. Thirty days of work
filled the sketchbook to the brim, both the good and bad. I finally finished the final piece I had
completed InkTober.
InkTober is a social media phenomenon that took the artist world by storm. For every day of October,
you are to make one drawing that incorporates ink in its media. The theme or subject of drawing is
completely up to the artist, as long as the piece has ink colored or black then it fits right into InkTober.
Then, once you re satisfied ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of my pieces consisted of fanart or simple original pieces exploring inking styles. I admittedly
favored one series, Love Live!, over the others, but I was grateful for the inspiration. Some drawings I
practiced perspective and colors, like the first and fourth day respectively, others I tested styles of
shading and texture. Going from a pencil sketch, to simple lining, and finally to detailed inking was a
fulfilling experience.
I would finish inking the drawing for the day and quickly sketch an outline for the following day in
pencil. This schedule was helpful and time efficient since the most time consuming part of drawing is
figuring out what to draw and how to start it. However, I could only do this due to the leniency of my
school schedule and sparse amount of homework at that time. So when work started picking up at
school two weeks into October, it became a struggle to finish one day s drawing, not to mention
preparing for the following days.
The output and quality of my art in the middle of the month took a drop as I began studying for tests,
in class writings, and the PSAT. It was at this time that Inktober became a real challenge. Not only do
you have to plan and compose a drawing, but you have to manage your schedule and make time to do
so. Unlike professional artists or people with flexible jobs, students are hard pressed with their school
schedule and extracurricular

Digital Equipment Corporation and Hp
Hewlett Packard Introduction: Hewlett Packard is one of the largest corporations in the world. Hewlett
Packard is divided into three general segments: imaging and printing systems, computing systems, and
information technology services. After acquiring Compaq Computer Company, HP is currently the
world s largest computer company. HP is a growth oriented corporation that strives to stay ahead in all
of its market segments. History: HP was started by two electrical engineers who graduated from
Stanford University in 1934. During a two week camping trip, following graduation, Bill Hewlett and
Dave Packard became close friends. Bill continued his education, taking graduate courses at MIT

The Seven Habits Of Highly Effective People There Are A...
Have you ever thought about what you re doing in Your future? What are your plans? are you
proactive or un proactive? Well in the book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People There are a lot of
things by Stephen Covey It can tell you if you re doing the right things with your life or not, and can
get answers in the following 7th habits of life. Are you proactive ? do you do things without being
asked to ? are you able to brush things off without getting offended or getting mad when someone tell
you something ? Each day you and I get about 100 chances to choose whether to be proactive or
reactive. by Stephen Covey. You get chances all the time to make choices. Some people choose to be
proactive and do the right things. For example if your know you have to clean the house, why wait
until your mom has to tells you and start yelling at you. It s better to be proactive and do it without her
telling you. You can use this habit in so many ways. The proactive approach to a mistake is to
acknowledge it instantly, and learn from it and not letting it happen again. you have the freedom to
choose your response and to choose your action no one can choose them for you so, if your do
something that s not right why complain and argue, yes you can but, at the same time you were the
one to choose your actions. There are so many things in life that can put you down and make you
upset. You should always take responsibility for your choices and that s the problems with today s
humans in this world. Trying to point the finger at someone else, even tho they already know it was
there fault. You re probably asking why ? that my question for so long but still not being able to get
the answer, but i ll tell you my side of the point. You should always bounce back when you get hurt or
get upset look at the positive side there is always a really big reason why things happen. There always
people that start crying and just putting all there stressed on them and acting if something will change
just by them crying. My mom all ways told me to draw my own path and turn left and never followed
what people try telling me even if it s good . See my dad use to work for a company and that company

Nel Noddings Ethics Of Care
Please provide a brief background on your career and research.
I ve always been interested in the intersection of psychology, ethics, and work. Early in my career,
after completing an undergraduate degree in psychology and then an MBA with a focus on human
resource management, I began teaching and consulting in the areas of executive and organizational
development. A turning point for me was while I was teaching a course on business ethics and
discussing the value of business with my students. Organizations (for profit, non profit, etc.) have such
potential to do good in our world to go beyond simply do no harm to actively providing value to
others both within the organization and for society and the natural environment to contribute ... Show

I hope to speak to both an academic and practitioner audience. For example, I co authored a chapter in
the book Developing Leaders for Positive Organizing (to be published later this month) that discusses
the role of care in scaling social enterprise organizations, based on the data from the environmental
social enterprise that I m studying. This book is meant for not only to academics but also practitioners
who are searching for ways to have a positive impact on their organizations and beyond. Thus, I hope
that my research will provide an example of the ways in which caring can be incorporated into
effective business models and add value not only to the work life of employees but also to the

Two Teachers In Our Day Out By Willy Russell
Our Day out
Our Day Out is a written play by Willy Russell that reflects on the life the lower class of England live,
also addressing the progress class children that aren t given any chances to develop themselves and get
a real shot at life. This is all represented through a day out. The play is dramatic and at times comedic.
There are two teachers in the play, both with contrasting personalities,Mrs Kay a very lenient and kind
teacher, and Mr.Briggs a firm, strict teacher. During this short essay I will be analysing and capturing
memorable quotes to back up points and observations I have made from the play regarding the
effectiveness of the two the two contradicting teachers.

Who Is The Antagonist In Midaq Alley
Sebastian Torres Torija
Midaq Alley
Midaq Alley by Naguib Mahfouz is the entertaining story of a unique local alley in Cairo who
demonstrates on a day to day basis the true colors of a quintessential low class Egyptian society, in a
contrast with a present day Egypt that hopes to modernize as the end of World War II occurs. It is the
characters that inhabit this alley, along with their individual and communal stories and links that they
share that excel this novel into a state of utter glory. The relationship that the residents of the narrow
alley in the forgotten old part of Cairo hold is stronger than the reader initially perceives, becoming at
times the only mean of survival for the alley. Much of the alley s interaction is based ... Show more

Unfortunately for Hamida Salim suffered from a heart attack, and even though he did not die, Salim s
personality and attitude changed radically. He took a stronger approach on his business and began to
trust no one.
He entered her life at a time when she was overcome with despair. Salim Alwan had collapsed near
death after giving her a day and a half of hope for the life she had always wanted, and now this had
happened, after she had banished Abbas from her dreams. Because she now knew there was no hope
of marrying Alwan, she renewed her engagement to the barber, even though she felt only scorn for
him. (Mahfouz, 161).
However the beauty that Hamida held would not go unnoticed and Faraj was struck from the moment
he saw Hamida in the alley as she came from her daily walk and he attended the political rally. Faraj
seemed like the ideal man for Hamida, considering that he had the money to lure her with all the
extravagant gifts that she desired. However it is also Faraj who corrupts Hamida. Faraj finally reveals
his identity as a pimp to Hamida convinces her to join the business, and even changing her name to

Contemporary Issues in Criminal Justice
Introduction Gender bias, sexual harassment, and lack of training have been an ongoing struggle for
women in policing and it continues in today. I will be discussing this issue and will assess its past,
present and future implications as they relate to the Criminal Justice System. I will be discussing my
assessment of the past history and present circumstances of woman in policing. I will also include my
predictions and recommendation of how these issues should be addressed by the police and prosecutor
in the future.
Implications
Dating back to the 1970 s sexism was not considered to be a form of discrimination. Women faced the
perception of the public that a women s place was in the home; a woman s role was to cook, clean, and

Thirty nine agencies were surveyed (19 adult, 16 youth, and 4 combined), and all agencies had
formalized training programs. The results showed that forty six percent of the agencies offered
training to address specific needs of female employees. Seventy six percent required all staff to take
courses in sexual harassment awareness. Fifty nine percent offered training to decrease gender and
race bias/stereotyping and to increase awareness and understanding of gender differences. The
primary concern, voiced by 36 percent of these agencies, was for training to understand and help
eliminate sexual harassment. (Federal Prisons Journal, 1994, p. 1 23). The courts and statutes
recognize two forms of sexual harassment. Quid pro quo is explained as something for something.
This occurs when a supervisor or manager requests sexual favors, has made sexual advances that are
unwelcome, or engages in physical conduct of a sexual nature. Hostile work environment is a situation
where a non employee, co worker, or supervisor may be the basis for the sexual harassment claim. A
hostile work environment can be created by suggestive pictures or comments, unwanted physical
contact, obscene gestures, sexual jokes, and other contact that interferes with an

Annotated Bibliography On The Martian
Paper Topic and Annotated Bibliography of The Martian Novel and Film Study Andy Weir s novel,
The Martian, is part of a shift in science fiction film and literature, representative of an era of
scientific literacy. Weir s novel is written partially as an epistolary novel from the perspective of Mark
Watney, a marooned Ares III astronaut. Set in the not too distant future, Weir worked tirelessly to
ensure scientific accuracy throughout the novel; the film is also dedicated to nearly complete scientific
accuracy. The novel s fascinating publication process reflects mainstream reader desire as opposed to
small, specific audience desire for stories that focus on scientific accuracy, especially as compared to
early science fiction film and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She also discusses the reasons that a planet like Mars is considered such an ideal planet for supporting
life. For my research, Perkowitz text is significant because it describes the many issues that Weir s The
Martian and its film version do not discuss. Where The Martian focuses on human s colonization on
Mars, many films before have focused on alien life on Mars. This helps to shed light on the possible
reasons that Weir choose to title his novel and its film adaptation what he did. In Perkowitz s final
chapter and afterword, she discusses the benefit of and makes a call for science fiction that reflects
actual science and realistic scientists. The Martian, published only a few years later, answers this

The Contingency And The Resource Dependence Paradigms Play...
Both the Contingency and the Resource Dependence Paradigms play a vital role in business. Though
they have similarities, the also have differences. The following essay will describe these components.
First, the contingency paradigm, a closed system, considers uncertainty and how changes in the
environment affect the internal aspect of the firm (Tolbert Hall, 2009, p. 162). The elements can
include items such as size and technology, as it relates to customer demand to name a few. Another
example might be that a small firm would function better in a centralized fashion verses a large firm
that would benefit more from a decentralized method, whereas, fast paced environments may require
high technology and slow paced industries do not. The point here is that there is not one best practice
for leading or structuring a firm, hence, the company should fit within the environment depending on
internal and external factors (Long, 2014). It is important to note, hhowever, coordination can become
problematic in this theory. For illustration, let s say some environmental factor cause a company to
change structure from a simple structure to a more complex one. Problems with coordination in the
separate departments could present itself as communication and interaction is vastly different. The key
here is for the firm to adapt to the environment, as well as, integrate the activity to make a seamless
whole and reduce uncertainty. In fact, the best way to organize should be contingent upon

Postmodern Perspectives On Religion Often Favor A Non...
Postmodern perspectives on religion often favor a non theistic approach regarding traditional
Abrahamic religions. Regarding the first set of quotes, John Shelby Spong in his respective work and
Don Cupitt in The Way to Happiness each suggest that seeing religion theistically, while orthodox and
familiar, often causes an individual to miss the deeper purpose of being religious. Don Cupitt clearly
asserts that theistic religion is outdated and no longer agrees with modern scientific explanations of
the natural world. Holding a similar vantage point, Spong even boldly claims that if one sees God as a
supernatural, all powerful, and all knowing individual and only as a supernatural, all powerful, and all
knowing individual, then He ceases ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That in mind, the fourth set of quotes imply that this conviction of God is not present in the
relationships themselves with nature, other people, and spiritual beings, but rather in the compassion
and empathy that arise as a result. In clearer terms, love, or God, does not establish the relationships
but God surfaces as a result of allowing oneself to be vulnerable and open to a meaningful bond.
I agree with William James and Martin Buber, although the idea of I Thou could be misunderstood
and instead taken in a theistic light. In doing so, the concept of It Thou will appear contradictory;
logically, if God is not a theistic being, one cannot possess a personal relationship with Him. However,
by seeing the universe as a Thou versus an It, the compassion becomes apparent in one s personal
bonds. To be aware and to address the eternal Thou is to be mutually and timelessly indulgent in
gratitude and respect for the other party and to additionally recognize the deeper realm of humankind
the one beyond the egocentric ways of superficial and purely objective thought. In William James The
Will to Believe, he highlights the subjective nature of religion. Individuals act upon their notions of
faith and morality. To establish a task as moral or immoral depends on one s personal proof and not
necessarily on what is

Labeling Theory
Deviance, like beauty, is in the eyes of the beholder. There is nothing inherently deviant in any human
act, something is deviant only because some people have been successful in labelling it so. J. L
Simmons The definition of the situation implies that if you define a situation as real, it is real only in
its consequences.
INTRODUCTION
Labelling theory, stemming from the influences of Cooley, Mead, Tannenbaum, and Lemert, has its
origins somewhere within the context of the twentieth century. However, Edwin Lemert is widely
considered the producer and founder of the original version of labelling theory. This paper, not a
summary, provides a brief history of labelling theory, as well as, its role in the sociology of deviance.
It attempts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The deviant s response to societal reaction leads to secondary deviation by which the deviant comes to
accept a self image or self definition as someone who is permanently locked within a deviant role.
Furthermore, the distinctiveness of the approach is that it draws attention to deviance as the outcome
of social imputations and the exercise of social control. Labelling theory is very complex, making it
quite different than other theories. Instead of looking at why some social groups commit more crime,
labelling theory asks why some people committing some action come to be defined as deviant, while
others do not. Labelling theory is also interested in the effect of labelling individuals. As well,
labelling theorists note that most people commit crimes at some time in their lives but not everyone
becomes defined as deviant or criminal. How does this process of defining a person as deviant work?
Look at a situation where a policeman holds stereotypes about typical criminals. They use these
stereotypes to interpret the behaviour of suspected deviants. In other words, the closer a person comes
to the stereotype held by the police, the more likely they are to be arrested, charged, and convicted of
the crime. Furthermore, once someone has been successfully labelled or stigmatized as criminal or
deviant, the label attached may become the dominant label.
MASTER STATUS
In labelling theory, the dominant label is most often referred to as the

stress, while potentially making the difference between a full custody win, or every other weekend

attorney.
Step 1 Begin by skimming through the attorney section of your area yellow pages. This is the first step
in finding someone to represent you in court. Start a list of attorneys in your area complete with all the

Contact each of them to schedule appointments. In most cases, you will be able to obtain an initial
consultation free of charge.
Step 5 Sit down and write out a list of questions to pose to each candidate during your initial meeting.
Be prepared to discuss you re the circumstances of your case in detail, and remember to include
discussions pertaining to custody, visitation, support, insurance coverage, trust funds, and tax filings.
Step 6 Bring a pad and paper to each consultation and take notes. Pay attention to how the lawyer
interacts with you, and whether they appear friendly, professional, and interested in the specifics of the
case. Be sure you re dealing with someone who makes you feel confident in your case. Additionally,
you will want to discuss payment options, and fees up front.
Step 7 Once you ve finished your set of meetings, sit down and compare the notes from each
candidate. Decide which aspects are important to you, and go with the attorney who offers the ones
that will benefit your situation. Avoid making a decision based solely on cost alone, as this may result
in an attorney who is not quite as experienced or skilled as someone who charges a little

Rhetorical Strategies Of The Digital Age Has Destroyed...
Loss of Rights: Rhetorical Strategies in Groskopf s The digital age has destroyed the concept of
ownership, and companies are taking advantage of it
The digital age is changing our rights on the subject of ownership: less and less people know whether
they can copy, sell or even lend their digital goods. An author named, Christopher Groskopf, wrote
The digital age has destroyed the concept of ownership, and companies are taking advantage of it,
published in 2016 in the Quartz, and he argues that intuition has fallen apart when talking about
ownership of digital goods and that companies use their fine prints to take benefit from this. Groskopf
uses a survey, reputable sources, facts and statistics in order to appeal to similar feelings and
experiences in her adult readers; however, toward the end of the article, he weakens his argument by
contradicting himself.
In his article, Groskopf first sets the stage by letting the reader take a survey to let them see if they
know the type of ownership a reader would have over an example of a digital book. His survey then
outlines the uneven distribution of answers given showing that most of his readers are wrong about
digital ownership rights. Groskopf continues by stating that most of the rights are outlined in the
Terms of Service (TOS) of the selling company, a statistic from a reputable source showing that the
majority of buyer s do not read the TOS and some examples demonstrating how companies can take

American Ethnography Essay
What were the strengths and weaknesses of European ethnography and / or science in understanding
the Pacific? To the from here we go today I will not bug okay
The Pacific as we know today was not always as it was implied. There were a variety of perspectives
of The Pacific. Whether it was perceptions of the people, the culture and their way of life, these
perceptions eventually changed over time. Many westerners categorised the pacific islands as a land of
paradise which caused for heavy sexualisation of the islands. Others observed the Pacific Islands as a
place of savagery. These views of the pacific became strengthened and/or weakened by the works of
American and European Explorers and Ethnographers such as Margaret Mead. In effect, western ...

According to ethnographers who studied the pacific there are two contrasting groups of people. On the
one hand there was the view of soft primitivism which was represented by the Tahitians and
Hawaiians. Life was portrayed as being easy, and people were pure and guileless. Their lives were
filled with pleasure and uninhibited sex. On the other hand, there was hard primitivism (Kiste, 1985,
pg. 3). It was represented by people who lived in harsher climates which made them much tougher.
The Melanesian peoples represented this notion to an extent. They practiced magic, sorcery,
headhunting and cannibalism and Europeans found them very difficult to communicate with They
supposedly did not need or want all of the material goods considered necessary by Europeans, and
thus they were better off (Kiste, 1985, pg. 3). Till this present day some of the Melanesian islands such
as Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands are still viewed in the similar form. The Pacific Islands is
a group of similar people and lifestyles, however, the contrast between neighbouring islands was
recognizable. In a sense, the way Melanesians lived a hard primitivism lifestyle instilled fear and
distaste in foreigners difficult places and their less healthy environment made them less attractive

The Navajo, also known as Dine`, are some of the first Indians who set foot in America. The primary
mode of subsistence for any culture means a way of supporting life. The Navajo s primary modes of
subsistence are pastoralists. How does a pastoralist society impact beliefs and values, healing and
sickness, and kinship of the Navajo culture? These are the three aspects I plan to discuss and prove

Herbert J. Hagerman was hired by the US government to lead Navajo tribal councils and run the
meetings. (Lee, 2010) In the 1940 s the Navajo nation changed tremendously. They no longer raised
sheep or livestock, instead thousands of Navajo people went off to find wage labor to supplement their
income instead. The tribal council industrialized itself. (Lee, 2007) In the 1970 s the Navajo nation
was reorganized and the reservation had someone in control of the nation. Peter MacDonald was
elected chairman of the council and made new powers direct the Navajo government. In 1998 the
tribal council passed a Navajo Nation Local Governance Act that allowed local matters to be made by
local level people, allowing more local authority. The current government structure is now an agency
to the Navajo society, yet it is non Navajo nature, and the people of Navajo have never sanctioned it.
Today the Navajo Nation doesn t have the self sufficient powers it once did. Congress and US
Supreme courts have limited the powers of the tribal government. . Today, Supreme Court decisions
still keep the Native Americans from having their ability to self determine, and give the Native

Long-Range Shooting Ethical
Yes, i think companies like Gunwerks and TrackingPoint have an ethical obligation to discontinue

think using long range shooting systems would broke the care ethics. In the past, hunter cannot
conquer the issue of calculating the pull of gravity on a bullet traveling farther nor mention the harder

Definitions Of Place In Timmy And Fiona William s Home
Place is defined by the incommensurable qualities that determine a certain location is unique. As
humans we develop connections to these zones and essentially establish a strong sense of place.
According to Kent Rydon A sense of place results gradually and unconsciously from inhabiting a
landscape over time, becoming familiar with its physical properties, accruing history within its
confines. To me this means that there are a plethora of definitions of sense of place; however they all
share similarities and can be fitted into different categories. Jennifer Cross, part of the Department of
Sociology has set up those six categories. The definitions of which can be found in her study. Citation

I have known them for my entire life, as far back as my memory will let me go. Over the last fourteen
years I have spent a great deal of time in their house. It is a large property, all things considered, there
are three bedrooms and one bathroom, a large living room and a sizable backyard. The kitchen and
living room share almost the same space, but it is separated by a half length wall. a Majority of the
floor space is covered in junk. Boxes plied underneath the counter, overflowing with random pieces of
trash and useful things that just currently do not have a place. nearly all of the rooms are the same
way. Timmy s room is so full with odds and ends that you can hardly walk across the floor. Fiona s
room is a little bit better, you can walk around, but do watch your step. Chris and Tricia (their parents)
room is much cleaner than the rest of the house, though all surfaces other than the floor is cluttered.
The Williams have a pair of cockatoos named Pepper and Splenda as well as a cat named Skittles.
They have all been around quite a while.
I have a Biographical and Spiritual Connection with Timmy and fiona s home. I grew up with those
two and went over to the house quite often. lately, more than twice a week do I either see fiona and
timmy or I am at their house. so over time I have developed a strong connection with the place,

JFK assassination
Everyone knows about John F. Kennedy s assassination and everyone knows that it is still a mystery
who exactly killed him. Today people still do think th think that Lee Harvey Oswald killed Kennedy.
But I think Lee Harvey Oswald setup by someone. For example was Lee Harvey Oswald The only one
in the building at a time. All of these questions are going to be unknown but still think about it, could
there been.
I think Lee Harvey Oswald was set up because could never have gotten from the second floor to the
sixth then down to the second floor in 90 seconds or less. another reason why I think he was set up
because they never could trial Oswald because of Jack Ruby killed Oswald. I think that Oswald had

Direct financial support to primary schools is a new observable fact in Tanzanian context. Little has
been done as regards to how financial records are kept at school level, specifically capitation grants
and the mechanisms through which the funds are used. Reviews from government reports indicate that
in some schools, the funds were not fully utilized to serve the purpose in relation to centrally
determined plans to attain the intended goals

Scotland Pros And Cons
For a number of centuries, Highlanders have remained in the Highlands of northern Scotland. This
influential group of inhabitants, imagined bulked together in clans and having wardrobes solely
composed of tartan kilts, have been referenced throughout the recent years in popular literature and
film. These unique culture references, however, may not correctly illustrate the true depiction of the
modern day Highlander. Previously competent in the affairs of war, revolution, and politics,
Highlanders today lead a much more rural and relaxed lifestyle. Once dominated by prominent towns,
clans, and populations, the historical Highlands today contain people scarce and far between, usually
in rural villages loyal to an agrarian lifestyle. The larger ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those in support were often called Jacobites, and planning for revolution was done in utmost secrecy.
At the beginning of the revolution, the Highlanders did well defending themselves against the English
brutalities. In the Battle of Prestonpans, Highlanders captured nearly one thousand English soldiers
and wounded hundreds, which gave them Jacobian pride to continue the revolution (Forty five, 2014).
However, all ideals of revolution ended at the Battle of Culloden. Leading up to the Battle of Culloden
(April 16, 1746), the Highlanders hadn t been fed for days and had little protection or shelter from the
harsh Highland weather. Due to the underwhelming force of the Highland Jacobites, the battle lasted
less than an hour. There were over 1500 Highlander fatalities, a striking difference to only fifty
English fatalities. On their way home from the tremendous victory, the English stopped by any
Highland villages on the way and rid of each Highlander they saw. Houses, barns, and memories were
burnt to the ground in the reigning terror of the English on their way back from Culloden (Magnusson,
2000, p. 617). This, the last pitched battle on British soil, remains a haunting reminder to the
Highlanders to this

is a brave and noble character in an epic poem, admired for great achievements or affected by grand
events The stages of the heroic journey are used as guidance which molds Odysseus into a true hero

Social class

Date: 17/4/2014
We are aware that there are a variety of different types of stratification however social class is the
main area of division in people. A number of different theories have been made to bring together an
explanation on the ways social class is viewed and how society notices this effect. I will give
comparison of Marx and Weber s perspectives on social class and inequality will be made, as we know
it is quiet debatable on who s view is correct but I will compare and contrast the similarities and
differences finally weighing up a discussion to see both sides of the views.
The main difference ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Weber made a significant difference to Marx s theory; he believed in groups with held a status. class
was defined as unequal distribution of economic rewards where as a status group was an unequal
distribution of social honor (Giddens, 1991, pg212) According to Haralambos (2002 pg34) a status
group is described as a group made up of individuals who are awarded a similar amount of social
honor and therefore share the same status stratification (Haralambos Holborn (2002), pg 37). In the
present British Society social class is greatly influential on our everyday lives it affects each day of
career, health housing. In Britain during the 1990 s there wasn t much of a great change in sources that
a trend of class inequality being decreased. According to Haralambos and Holborn (2002) close
attention was paid to the closing gap of inequality for example the socio economic group attributes of
employment was influenced by social class for many centuries. Repeatedly the working classes have
only been given the chance to work in an unskilled occupation or one which was half skilled, given
that their class showed their knowledge educational level they were unable to move up the socio
economic hierarchy, this matches Marx s idea of a culture with capitalism involved.

Diagnosis of an Organization
SUMMARY
Learning Objectives
 Identify system parameters and recognize the symptoms, problems, and causes of organizational
ineffectiveness.
 Recognize the various techniques for gathering information from client systems.
 Describe the major diagnostic models and techniques used in OD programs.
 Apply a systematic diagnosis to organizational situations.
Diagnosing Problem Areas Why Diagnosing?
An organization need to survival or be very successful in the rapid developing socielty, it must have
flexibility and ability for rapid transfromation. For example, Downsizing and restructuring are the
ways to make an organization more effective, before downsizing and restructuring, the organization
must digagnose its departments, to see ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Surveys serve as information improvement tools, also the surveys are en effective communication
tool.
 Direct Observation
Direct obsercation of member behaviors and interactions.
 Interviews
Interviewing is the most widely used data gathering technique in OD programs. It is a very direct,
personal, and flexible survey, and is the only technique that provides two way communication.
The Implementation Of Data Collection
 Data collection begins with a decision about Who to obtain data from? and How many respondents?
 Data should be collected from several levels, from the top of the organization to down. Different
questions for each of them.
 The one to one interview is the most common data gathering method.
Diagnostic Models
 The Analytical Model
The organization is made up of different departments, if the organization want to be effective, all the
departments must be integrated into a unified effort. Which means departments in one organization
can not have different goals.
The tasks the departments work on can be examined in respect four characteristics:
1) The degree of the departmental structure;
2) The time orientation of members;
3) The interpersonal orientation of members toward others;
4) Organization members orientation toward goals.

Agent Smith Quotes
I will be asserting, in this argument, through the quotes and actions of Neo and Agent Smith as well as
underlying themes and philosophies throughout the trilogy that, despite what was clearly and
repeatedly implied and stated throughout the trilogy Neo is not actually the savior figure in accordance
with the Oracle s prophecy. Or, rather, that Neo may represent the Messiah to the humans in Zion and
the Matrix, the 1 respectively. However, Agent Smith, the 0 in the integral anomaly, more fully
represent a manifestation of the Oracle s prophecy than even Neo.
I know that in the original Matrix movie, it is very explicitly stated and implied several times that Neo
is the One, going so far as being an anagram to his name, Neo , and throughout ... Show more content

Agent Smith is directing and leading the other, presumably nameless, Agents. In the initial
interrogation with Thomas Anderson, nee Neo, Agent Smith is the only Agent that speaks, leading the
conversation with Neo. Agent Smith even removes his mirrored sunglasses at several points
throughout the film. Smith is also seen to remove his earpiece, which represents the Agent program s
connection to the rest of the Machines, during his interrogation of Morpheus. In that same scene,
Smith gives a monologue directed at Morpheus emphasizing Smith s desire to get out of the Matrix, in
which he describes things as tasting and smelling. Unusual for a program to describe, as we don t see
either of the other Agent s exhibiting any other form of individuality or human like characteristics in
any other scene they are in.
Smith s uniqueness extends beyond the increasing individualization and rebellion against his fellow
Machines. Let s consider the prophesy which foreshadows the coming of the One, which is considered
to be Neo by the human inhabitants of Zion. The prophesy was foretold by the Oracle outlining the
characteristics that the humans will be able to attribute to the One, the Prime Program or, as the
Architect described it, an Integral

Student Athlete Persuasive Essay
Aaron Harrison, guard for the University of Kentucky, made a contested 3 pointer with only 2.6

Kentucky Wildcats, #8 seed, to the final four and was a victory en route to the national championship
game that they ended up losing. For Harrison s game winner, Kentucky Athletic Director and
basketball coaching staff made $329,166 in bonuses. This money is only a fraction of the revenue that

Whether an athlete goes on to be professional or not, they have been productive cash cows fro the
NCAA without compensation. The ending of these athletes does not affect the NCAA, so they can
continue the cycle of manipulation. Student athletes are gaining much athletically, so they should take
advantage of the second part of being a student athlete instead of wasting away the free education they
are receiving. The most important thing is for athletes to successfully leave college with a degree that
they can use to build upon for the rest of their lives. It is mind blowing that some athletes are active in
a sport for four years and leave without a degree in hand.
In any event, athletes are amateurs. They must realize that they are privileged to attend college and let
alone for no cost to their pockets. Many students have to work jobs for extra money for clothes and
food, but athletes have those covered for the most part. Athletes oftentimes make connections that
normal students dream of and have jobs waiting for them either as a professional athlete or another
career path. Bob Knight once said, The best argument against paying players is that it diminishes the
value of an education. Students are attending universities for an education, which is worth much more
than a direct cash deposit into ones bank

H. J Mccloskey s Article On Being An Atheist
H. J. McCloskey, an atheist author, wrote an article titled On Being an Atheist which explains why he
is an atheist, his views on God, and why He believes that being an atheist is more comfortable and
reasonable than believing in Christianity. While arguing against the proofs within the cosmological
argument and teleological argument, McCloskey does not acknowledge the ontological argument. He
then goes on to say how belief in God is not necessary and living by faith is irrational. My goal of this
paper is to examine his article, point out the flaws, and prove that his arguments do not prove atheism
to be true. McCloskey refers to proofs as an argument that favors God but cannot make a case for
God. He then goes on to argue that those proofs should not be used and discarded. Dr. Foreman,
however, suggested the accumulative case approach, which tells us to collect the proofs and evidence
that says God, in fact, exists. One main reason that we cannot be one hundred percent sure when we
say that God exists is the possibility of us being wrong. On one hand, Dr. Foreman argues that things
that take place around us are evidence of God. However, McCloskey says that the case for God cannot
be proved through Christianity. In response to McCloskey, we believe in many things that are unseen
but have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These arguments both refer to a creator of some sort whether that is God or another outside force. The
teleological argument, however, suggests that there is purpose within the order of the universe.
McCloskey believes that both arguments, the cosmological and teleological arguments, cannot prove
that God is the ultimate designer. He also claims that there is not enough, if any, proof of a designer.
To counter his argument, I would argue that there is not enough proof to prove that there is not a
creator however, not one side can be absolutely sure that they are completely

Gun Laws And Stricter Gun Control
Gun laws is a controversial topic on both sides of the legislative. We have some that argue the right to
bear arms set in the Constitution of the United States and then we have the epidemic of gun violence
amongst innocent people that are advocating for stricter gun laws and even the banning on assault
weapons. There are many points that can be argued from each side of the leglasitive with evidence to
back the claims that they are stating with regards to gun laws. The right to bear arms is considered to
be a pillar of the constitution and some people feel that it is a right that should not be infringed upon.
The right to bear arms, a right that won us freedom and also has protected us for years. But, as the
nation evolves it is evident that our second amendment could probably stand to evolve with it. When I
think of gun laws I often tend to take the middle of the road approach to who should own a gun and
what should happen if you possess a gun illegally. Former President Barack Obama made the plea for
stricter gun control. His thought was that there need to be a broader background check as well as
exhortation to federal agencies so that existing laws are fully enforced. But how does what President
Obama was trying to inforce take a stance when in Texas, gun owners were taking full advantage of
the new right of open carry. I think that the open carry law needed to be investigated a little bit more
before being put in place. But, the good thing I guess that came out

The Necessity Of Radical Reconstruction After The Civil War
The necessity of Radical Reconstruction After the Civil War had ended a period of reconstruction was
in mind, but failed to succeed. President Andrew Johnson s principle was that the South never had a
right to succeed. He also believed that blacks should not have any role in the reconstruction. Johnson
appointed provisional governors and ordered them to call state conventions to establish new, all white
government. Radical Republicans believed that people of all skin color had the right to be equal. In
their opinion, blacks should have the same political opportunities as well as rights as whites. They
wanted to see the powers of national government expanded since they believed the war was fought for
equal rights. A Civil Rights Bill was passed on in 1966 which stated That all persons born in the

Sean Armstrong s Eros And Psyche
To earn a good mark on a test, one must be willing to study continuously, in spite of the hassle of
doing so. To win gold in the Olympics, one must be dedicated to the sport and train constantly, despite
the difficulty. From the smallest of objectives to the greatest, never has anyone achieved anything
important for their lives without commitment and hardship. In Sean Armstrong s short story, Eros and
Psyche , these very same attributes are presented in order to acquire love. By Psyche agreeing to
accomplish Aphrodite s tasks and facing the jealousy and wrath of the goddess in order to gain back
the love of her life, Eros, she has introduced herself to a journey of trials and tribulations. In Eros and
Psyche , Sean Armstrong uses the three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, the tasks that are given are not at all simple. One of the most dangerous of them requires her to
obtain some of Persephone s beauty by traveling to the underworld which is considered to be a
sentence of death (229). Even with the knowledge that she could possibly be risking her life to fulfill
this task, Psyche still undertakes it. This is because she is aware that by completing this task, she will
be able to be with the love of her life and giving up now would mean that all her hard work would be
in vain. By incorporating a character such as Psyche who displays a persistent characteristic in such an
impossible task, Armstrong implies that having a willingness to do something despite its difficulty and
pursuing it until the end will always have a reward. Second, Psyche is not only rewarded with Eros,
but she is also given the status of a god. When Eros takes Psyche to Olympus after completing her
tasks, he convinces Zeus that Psyche has proven her love for [Eros] and therefore let her stay in
heaven (230). Psyche earns herself a seat on Olympus due to the fact that she stays committed to
accomplishing her given tasks, and in doing so has proven that she is prepared to undergo any task in
order to be with Eros which is rewarded with a rightfully earned spot on Olympus. By rewarding
Psyche for seeing her tasks through, Armstrong implies that there is a reward in diligence and hard
work.

  • 2. Ictober Research Papers The ink left nothing untouched, staining and smudging the table, scratch paper, and even my hand. A mess of paper and ink surrounded me, but only one area was left organized. My sketchbook that I filled with meticulous work and effort for the past 30 days stared back at me. Thirty days of work filled the sketchbook to the brim, both the good and bad. I finally finished the final piece I had completed InkTober. InkTober is a social media phenomenon that took the artist world by storm. For every day of October, you are to make one drawing that incorporates ink in its media. The theme or subject of drawing is completely up to the artist, as long as the piece has ink colored or black then it fits right into InkTober. Then, once you re satisfied ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most of my pieces consisted of fanart or simple original pieces exploring inking styles. I admittedly favored one series, Love Live!, over the others, but I was grateful for the inspiration. Some drawings I practiced perspective and colors, like the first and fourth day respectively, others I tested styles of shading and texture. Going from a pencil sketch, to simple lining, and finally to detailed inking was a fulfilling experience. I would finish inking the drawing for the day and quickly sketch an outline for the following day in pencil. This schedule was helpful and time efficient since the most time consuming part of drawing is figuring out what to draw and how to start it. However, I could only do this due to the leniency of my school schedule and sparse amount of homework at that time. So when work started picking up at school two weeks into October, it became a struggle to finish one day s drawing, not to mention preparing for the following days. The output and quality of my art in the middle of the month took a drop as I began studying for tests, in class writings, and the PSAT. It was at this time that Inktober became a real challenge. Not only do you have to plan and compose a drawing, but you have to manage your schedule and make time to do so. Unlike professional artists or people with flexible jobs, students are hard pressed with their school schedule and extracurricular ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1960 HP opened a manufacturing plant in Loveland, Colorado; its first manufacturing plant in the U.S. that was outside of Palo Alto, California. HP expanded into the medical field in 1961 with the acquisition of Sanborn Company. This division would later become Agilent Technologies, a company formed from HP. HP made Fortune magazine s top 500 U.S. companies in 1962 for the first time. In 1963 HP entered the Asian market with a joint venture with Yokogawa Electric Works. Through the rest of the 60 s HP continued to grow rapidly. HP introduced a device to monitor fetal heart rates, acquired a company that produced chemical analysis equipment, created a flexible work schedule program, where employees could come in when they wanted and leave when they wanted as long as they worked a certain number of hours per week. HP gave the world the first desktop scientific calculator in 1968 and in 1969 Dave Packard was appointed U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense. Dave used his management skills to reconfigure cumbersome processes and made improvements in the military s efficiency while lowering costs of carrying out processes. HP didn t slow down growth at all during the 1970 s. HP introduced the world to the first handheld scientific calculator in 1972. This device has recently been regarded by Forbes ... • 4. The Seven Habits Of Highly Effective People There Are A... Have you ever thought about what you re doing in Your future? What are your plans? are you proactive or un proactive? Well in the book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People There are a lot of things by Stephen Covey It can tell you if you re doing the right things with your life or not, and can get answers in the following 7th habits of life. Are you proactive ? do you do things without being asked to ? are you able to brush things off without getting offended or getting mad when someone tell you something ? Each day you and I get about 100 chances to choose whether to be proactive or reactive. by Stephen Covey. You get chances all the time to make choices. Some people choose to be proactive and do the right things. For example if your know you have to clean the house, why wait until your mom has to tells you and start yelling at you. It s better to be proactive and do it without her telling you. You can use this habit in so many ways. The proactive approach to a mistake is to acknowledge it instantly, and learn from it and not letting it happen again. you have the freedom to choose your response and to choose your action no one can choose them for you so, if your do something that s not right why complain and argue, yes you can but, at the same time you were the one to choose your actions. There are so many things in life that can put you down and make you upset. You should always take responsibility for your choices and that s the problems with today s humans in this world. Trying to point the finger at someone else, even tho they already know it was there fault. You re probably asking why ? that my question for so long but still not being able to get the answer, but i ll tell you my side of the point. You should always bounce back when you get hurt or get upset look at the positive side there is always a really big reason why things happen. There always people that start crying and just putting all there stressed on them and acting if something will change just by them crying. My mom all ways told me to draw my own path and turn left and never followed what people try telling me even if it s good . • 5. Nel Noddings Ethics Of Care Please provide a brief background on your career and research. I ve always been interested in the intersection of psychology, ethics, and work. Early in my career, after completing an undergraduate degree in psychology and then an MBA with a focus on human resource management, I began teaching and consulting in the areas of executive and organizational development. A turning point for me was while I was teaching a course on business ethics and discussing the value of business with my students. For example, I co authored a chapter in the book Developing Leaders for Positive Organizing (to be published later this month) that discusses the role of care in scaling social enterprise organizations, based on the data from the environmental social enterprise that I m studying. This book is meant for not only to academics but also practitioners who are searching for ways to have a positive impact on their organizations and beyond. Thus, I hope that my research will provide an example of the ways in which caring can be incorporated into effective business models and add value not only to the work life of employees but also to the ... Two Teachers In Our Day Out By Willy Russell Our Day out Our Day Out is a written play by Willy Russell that reflects on the life the lower class of England live, also addressing the progress class children that aren t given any chances to develop themselves and get a real shot at life. This is all represented through a day out. The play is dramatic and at times comedic. There are two teachers in the play, both with contrasting personalities,Mrs Kay a very lenient and kind teacher, and Mr.Briggs a firm, strict teacher. • 7. Who Is The Antagonist In Midaq Alley Sebastian Torres Torija Midaq Alley Midaq Alley by Naguib Mahfouz is the entertaining story of a unique local alley in Cairo who demonstrates on a day to day basis the true colors of a quintessential low class Egyptian society, in a contrast with a present day Egypt that hopes to modernize as the end of World War II occurs. It is the characters that inhabit this alley, along with their individual and communal stories and links that they share that excel this novel into a state of utter glory. The relationship that the residents of the narrow alley in the forgotten old part of Cairo hold is stronger than the reader initially perceives, becoming at times the only mean of survival for the alley. Unfortunately for Hamida Salim suffered from a heart attack, and even though he did not die, Salim s personality and attitude changed radically. He took a stronger approach on his business and began to trust no one. He entered her life at a time when she was overcome with despair. Salim Alwan had collapsed near death after giving her a day and a half of hope for the life she had always wanted, and now this had happened, after she had banished Abbas from her dreams. Because she now knew there was no hope of marrying Alwan, she renewed her engagement to the barber, even though she felt only scorn for him. (Mahfouz, 161). However the beauty that Hamida held would not go unnoticed and Faraj was struck from the moment he saw Hamida in the alley as she came from her daily walk and he attended the political rally. Faraj seemed like the ideal man for Hamida, considering that he had the money to lure her with all the extravagant gifts that she desired. However it is also Faraj who corrupts Hamida. Faraj finally reveals his identity as a pimp to Hamida convinces her to join the business, and even changing her name to Titi. Initially this caused no harm to Hamida as she was still living in the lavish rich dream she always dreamed of. He laughed out loud, asking, And are pimps not men too? • 8. Contemporary Issues in Criminal Justice Introduction Gender bias, sexual harassment, and lack of training have been an ongoing struggle for women in policing and it continues in today. I will be discussing this issue and will assess its past, present and future implications as they relate to the Criminal Justice System. I will be discussing my assessment of the past history and present circumstances of woman in policing. I will also include my predictions and recommendation of how these issues should be addressed by the police and prosecutor in the future. Implications Dating back to the 1970 s sexism was not considered to be a form of discrimination. Thirty nine agencies were surveyed (19 adult, 16 youth, and 4 combined), and all agencies had formalized training programs. The results showed that forty six percent of the agencies offered training to address specific needs of female employees. Seventy six percent required all staff to take courses in sexual harassment awareness. Fifty nine percent offered training to decrease gender and race bias/stereotyping and to increase awareness and understanding of gender differences. The primary concern, voiced by 36 percent of these agencies, was for training to understand and help eliminate sexual harassment. (Federal Prisons Journal, 1994, p. 1 23). The courts and statutes recognize two forms of sexual harassment. Quid pro quo is explained as something for something. This occurs when a supervisor or manager requests sexual favors, has made sexual advances that are unwelcome, or engages in physical conduct of a sexual nature. Hostile work environment is a situation where a non employee, co worker, or supervisor may be the basis for the sexual harassment claim. • 9. Annotated Bibliography On The Martian Paper Topic and Annotated Bibliography of The Martian Novel and Film Study Andy Weir s novel, The Martian, is part of a shift in science fiction film and literature, representative of an era of scientific literacy. Weir s novel is written partially as an epistolary novel from the perspective of Mark Watney, a marooned Ares III astronaut. Set in the not too distant future, Weir worked tirelessly to ensure scientific accuracy throughout the novel; the film is also dedicated to nearly complete scientific accuracy. The novel s fascinating publication process reflects mainstream reader desire as opposed to small, specific audience desire for stories that focus on scientific accuracy, especially as compared to early science fiction film and ... For my research, Perkowitz text is significant because it describes the many issues that Weir s The Martian and its film version do not discuss. Where The Martian focuses on human s colonization on Mars, many films before have focused on alien life on Mars. This helps to shed light on the possible reasons that Weir choose to title his novel and its film adaptation what he did. In Perkowitz s final chapter and afterword, she discusses the benefit of and makes a call for science fiction that reflects actual science and realistic scientists. • 10. The Contingency And The Resource Dependence Paradigms Play... Both the Contingency and the Resource Dependence Paradigms play a vital role in business. Though they have similarities, the also have differences. The following essay will describe these components. First, the contingency paradigm, a closed system, considers uncertainty and how changes in the environment affect the internal aspect of the firm (Tolbert Hall, 2009, p. 162). The elements can include items such as size and technology, as it relates to customer demand to name a few. Another example might be that a small firm would function better in a centralized fashion verses a large firm that would benefit more from a decentralized method, whereas, fast paced environments may require high technology and slow paced industries do not. The point here is that there is not one best practice for leading or structuring a firm, hence, the company should fit within the environment depending on internal and external factors (Long, 2014). It is important to note, hhowever, coordination can become problematic in this theory. For illustration, let s say some environmental factor cause a company to change structure from a simple structure to a more complex one. Problems with coordination in the separate departments could present itself as communication and interaction is vastly different. The key here is for the firm to adapt to the environment, as well as, integrate the activity to make a seamless whole and reduce uncertainty. In fact, the best way to organize should be contingent upon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Postmodern Perspectives On Religion Often Favor A Non... Postmodern perspectives on religion often favor a non theistic approach regarding traditional Abrahamic religions. Regarding the first set of quotes, John Shelby Spong in his respective work and Don Cupitt in The Way to Happiness each suggest that seeing religion theistically, while orthodox and familiar, often causes an individual to miss the deeper purpose of being religious. Don Cupitt clearly asserts that theistic religion is outdated and no longer agrees with modern scientific explanations of the natural world. Holding a similar vantage point, Spong even boldly claims that if one sees God as a supernatural, all powerful, and all knowing individual and only as a supernatural, all powerful, and all knowing individual, then He ceases ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That in mind, the fourth set of quotes imply that this conviction of God is not present in the relationships themselves with nature, other people, and spiritual beings, but rather in the compassion and empathy that arise as a result. In clearer terms, love, or God, does not establish the relationships but God surfaces as a result of allowing oneself to be vulnerable and open to a meaningful bond. I agree with William James and Martin Buber, although the idea of I Thou could be misunderstood and instead taken in a theistic light. In doing so, the concept of It Thou will appear contradictory; logically, if God is not a theistic being, one cannot possess a personal relationship with Him. However, by seeing the universe as a Thou versus an It, the compassion becomes apparent in one s personal bonds. To be aware and to address the eternal Thou is to be mutually and timelessly indulgent in gratitude and respect for the other party and to additionally recognize the deeper realm of humankind the one beyond the egocentric ways of superficial and purely objective thought. There is nothing inherently deviant in any human act, something is deviant only because some people have been successful in labelling it so. J. L Simmons The definition of the situation implies that if you define a situation as real, it is real only in its consequences. INTRODUCTION Labelling theory, stemming from the influences of Cooley, Mead, Tannenbaum, and Lemert, has its origins somewhere within the context of the twentieth century. However, Edwin Lemert is widely considered the producer and founder of the original version of labelling theory. The deviant s response to societal reaction leads to secondary deviation by which the deviant comes to accept a self image or self definition as someone who is permanently locked within a deviant role. Furthermore, the distinctiveness of the approach is that it draws attention to deviance as the outcome of social imputations and the exercise of social control. Labelling theory is very complex, making it quite different than other theories. Instead of looking at why some social groups commit more crime, labelling theory asks why some people committing some action come to be defined as deviant, while others do not. Labelling theory is also interested in the effect of labelling individuals. As well, labelling theorists note that most people commit crimes at some time in their lives but not everyone becomes defined as deviant or criminal. How does this process of defining a person as deviant work? Look at a situation where a policeman holds stereotypes about typical criminals. They use these stereotypes to interpret the behaviour of suspected deviants. In other words, the closer a person comes to the stereotype held by the police, the more likely they are to be arrested, charged, and convicted of the crime. Furthermore, once someone has been successfully labelled or stigmatized as criminal or deviant, the label attached may become the dominant label. Loss of Rights: Rhetorical Strategies in Groskopf s The digital age has destroyed the concept of ownership, and companies are taking advantage of it The digital age is changing our rights on the subject of ownership: less and less people know whether they can copy, sell or even lend their digital goods. An author named, Christopher Groskopf, wrote The digital age has destroyed the concept of ownership, and companies are taking advantage of it, published in 2016 in the Quartz, and he argues that intuition has fallen apart when talking about ownership of digital goods and that companies use their fine prints to take benefit from this. Groskopf uses a survey, reputable sources, facts and statistics in order to appeal to similar feelings and experiences in her adult readers; however, toward the end of the article, he weakens his argument by contradicting himself. In his article, Groskopf first sets the stage by letting the reader take a survey to let them see if they know the type of ownership a reader would have over an example of a digital book. His survey then outlines the uneven distribution of answers given showing that most of his readers are wrong about digital ownership rights. Groskopf continues by stating that most of the rights are outlined in the Terms of Service (TOS) of the selling company, a statistic from a reputable source showing that the majority of buyer s do not read the TOS and some examples demonstrating how companies can take advantage of this ... On the one hand there was the view of soft primitivism which was represented by the Tahitians and Hawaiians. Life was portrayed as being easy, and people were pure and guileless. Their lives were filled with pleasure and uninhibited sex. On the other hand, there was hard primitivism (Kiste, 1985, pg. 3). It was represented by people who lived in harsher climates which made them much tougher. The Melanesian peoples represented this notion to an extent. They practiced magic, sorcery, headhunting and cannibalism and Europeans found them very difficult to communicate with They supposedly did not need or want all of the material goods considered necessary by Europeans, and thus they were better off (Kiste, 1985, pg. 3). McCloskey, an atheist author, wrote an article titled On Being an Atheist which explains why he is an atheist, his views on God, and why He believes that being an atheist is more comfortable and reasonable than believing in Christianity. While arguing against the proofs within the cosmological argument and teleological argument, McCloskey does not acknowledge the ontological argument. He then goes on to say how belief in God is not necessary and living by faith is irrational. My goal of this paper is to examine his article, point out the flaws, and prove that his arguments do not prove atheism to be true. Dr. Foreman, however, suggested the accumulative case approach, which tells us to collect the proofs and evidence that says God, in fact, exists. One main reason that we cannot be one hundred percent sure when we say that God exists is the possibility of us being wrong. He also claims that there is not enough, if any, proof of a designer. To counter his argument, I would argue that there is not enough proof to prove that there is not a creator however, not one side can be absolutely sure that they are completely ... We have some that argue the right to bear arms set in the Constitution of the United States and then we have the epidemic of gun violence amongst innocent people that are advocating for stricter gun laws and even the banning on assault weapons. There are many points that can be argued from each side of the leglasitive with evidence to back the claims that they are stating with regards to gun laws. The right to bear arms is considered to be a pillar of the constitution and some people feel that it is a right that should not be infringed upon. When I think of gun laws I often tend to take the middle of the road approach to who should own a gun and what should happen if you possess a gun illegally. Former President Barack Obama made the plea for stricter gun control. His thought was that there need to be a broader background check as well as exhortation to federal agencies so that existing laws are fully enforced. But how does what President Obama was trying to inforce take a stance when in Texas, gun owners were taking full advantage of the new right of open carry. I think that the open carry law needed to be investigated a little bit more before being put in place. But, the good thing I guess that came out ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Necessity Of Radical Reconstruction After The Civil War The necessity of Radical Reconstruction After the Civil War had ended a period of reconstruction was in mind, but failed to succeed. President Andrew Johnson s principle was that the South never had a right to succeed. He also believed that blacks should not have any role in the reconstruction. Johnson appointed provisional governors and ordered them to call state conventions to establish new, all white government. Radical Republicans believed that people of all skin color had the right to be equal. In their opinion, blacks should have the same political opportunities as well as rights as whites. One of the most dangerous of them requires her to obtain some of Persephone s beauty by traveling to the underworld which is considered to be a sentence of death (229). Even with the knowledge that she could possibly be risking her life to fulfill this task, Psyche still undertakes it. This is because she is aware that by completing this task, she will be able to be with the love of her life and giving up now would mean that all her hard work would be in vain. By incorporating a character such as Psyche who displays a persistent characteristic in such an impossible task, Armstrong implies that having a willingness to do something despite its difficulty and pursuing it until the end will always have a reward. Second, Psyche is not only rewarded with Eros, but she is also given the status of a god. When Eros takes Psyche to Olympus after completing her tasks, he convinces Zeus that Psyche has proven her love for [Eros] and therefore let her stay in heaven (230). Psyche earns herself a seat on Olympus due to the fact that she stays committed to accomplishing her given tasks, and in doing so has proven that she is prepared to undergo any task in order to be with Eros which is rewarded with a rightfully earned spot on Olympus. By rewarding Psyche for seeing her tasks through, Armstrong implies that there is a reward in diligence and hard work. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
