Fifa And The Reason Behind Its Corruption Crises
FIFAAND THE REASON BEHIND ITS CORRUPTION CRISES In this essay I will be answering
these following questions and any more, on what exactly happened to FIFA insane corruption?, why is
the indictment coming from the U.S.?,Who are the major FIFA officials who have been arrested? Who
is Sepp Blatter and why wasn t he indicted?. What exactly happened to FIFA?. Nine FIFA officials and
5 other individuals were arrested. The FIFA officials, many of them were arrested in a hotel in
Switzerland, where they were gathered for the upcoming presidential elections for FIFA. Charges

So he has got a lot of power around him. Honestly he is a very smart man and does mostly everything
secretly. And the corruption with Sepp Blatter has been going on for awhile. But it seems that those
around him are the ones falling or failing. In 2015, FIFA called off amid corruption probe. Blatter and
Platini will avoid going face to face ahead of the friendly match after swiss authorities questions both
of them. Sepp Blatter and Michel platini will usually travel down to Switzerland just to watch the
friendly matches. I also heard that, most of the 2006 World Cup was full of bribery and chaos. People
didn t realize there was bribery going on because, all others cared about was the World Cup and which
country was going to win. And under FIFA president Sepp blatter s 17 year reign, exclusive foul play
has surfaced. In 2010, the host countries for the 2018 and the 2022 World Cups were selected. FIFA
was criticized for choosing two hosts at once. Critics warned this would increase the chances of
collusion. Fifa s inspection team evaluated a 9 bid and rated Russia and Qatar the riskiest places .
Qatar is a very hot country with like 106 degrees Fahrenheit summer temperatures in Qatar. Also
homosexuality being illegal in Qatar, the political situation in Russia and a strong English bid.
However, Qatar out of nowhere, won and earned the 2022 World Cup vote. Russia became the 2018
host city, which was very interesting because Russia is

Mesa Grande Essay
An explosion rocked the town, widows shattered and cars alarms wailed, A line of twenty Abram
tanks rolled side by side on parallel roads, through the town of Mesa Grande, but, all heading the same
direction, to the west. Boom, boom , boom boom, as the Abrams fired their 120mm M256 smoothbore
guns in a hellish symphony toward their targets, the Heat rounds strike time and again on target,
plumes of fire, smoke, and sand leapt in the sky, forming craters across the desert to the west of town.
Rat tat tat tat, as some of the tank commanders fired the 12.7mm Browning M2 machine guns, and the
loaders fired 7.62mm M240 machine guns toward their targets, a spec ops soldier had been assigned
to each tank to operated the 7.62mm M240 coaxial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The mesa to the South had a stone quarry on the back side away from the town where stone was

When the news had spread that the dead where coming back to life and eating people, many of the

the packs had grown, One of the apache pilots now assigned to John s brigade had reported seeing a
crowd of thousands, maybe tens of thousands of zombies in the town of High Vista only 25 miles to

and there was no word on how many if any had been able to evacuate before the crowd hit.

Determining The Percentage Of People During The Future...
Abstract:
The purpose of this experiment is to predict the percentage of people in the future generation of
contracting Type 2 Diabetes in their lifetime. In order to find results on this information, research
involving Type 2 Diabetes was conducted using several resources, including the American Diabetes
Association, CDC, the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Disease, and. After
gathering the information useful to understanding how Type 2 Diabetes is contracted and who is
affected, a small survey experiment was conducted using a random sample size of approximately 241
senior students at W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, TX. The survey was randomly conducted

I. Introduction:
Research Question:Are there correlations between different risk factors that teenagers possess that
attribute to Type 2 diabetes and what do they mean in reference to the chances of future diagnosis and
health?
Type 2 Diabetes is a prevalent and growing epidemic in South Texas, according to the American
Diabetes Association. It is the community s duty and obligation to recognize the problems and risk
factors that attribute to Type 2 Diabetes, so that further generations can avoid these lifestyle habits.
Type 2 Diabetes is an insulin deficiency disease that occurs in people aged 40 or older, and is much
more common than Type 1 Diabetes because it can be acquired genetically, but it is more commonly a
progressive disease based on the individual s unhealthy lifestyle, which is why adolescents are still at
risk to contract Type 2 Diabetes. When a person has Type 2 Diabetes, they may suffer from insulin
resistance. The insulin levels in their body are too low, or the cells in a person s body do not respond
properlyto the correct amount of insulin. Insulin is a hormone produced in the pancreas that strictly
regulates the use and amount of glucose (sugar) levels in an individual s blood. Sugar must be stored
for the future or used as energy by the body. Without insulin regulating an individual s blood sugar
level, a person may become hyperglycemic, with too high of a

Assessment And Assessment Of Assessment
Assessment is used to document learning and to plan our next steps. There is evidence of constructive,
specific feedback that is linked to the lesson objectives. Teachers plan assessments to learn what
students have knowledge of and what they need to practice on. Assessment use in the classroom
allows both the students and teachers to see if goals of education are being met. Assessments affect a
variety of things such as the grades students have, instructional needs, and placement in classes.
Assessments can reveal more than just if a student knows the material or not, assessments can also
reveal a students strengths and weaknesses. The student may be able to answer all questions correctly
on a multiple choice test, but then fails an essay questions because they are unable to explain
themselves due to the lack of knowledge of the content. Assessments are a great way to receive data
on the student s knowledge, but making sure the teacher is using the right and appropriate assessment
can be a major factor. My CT gives a variety of assessments when determining the level of
understanding students have reached for the content being taught. When assessing our class, we look
for if students have mastered a topic, need more review, or if something needs to be retaught. Often
my CT will teach a lesson and give a formative assessment whether it be on an online testing website,
by paper test, or having them write short passages about the content. If she analyzes the data and it

Sondra, By Margaret Atwood
In Atwood s depiction of Sondra, she draws a comparison between her and the many rape victims that
remain silent. Sondra is described in terms of how she plays bridge. Sondra is not the world s best
bridge player (Atwood 102). This gives Sondra an insignificance to the narrator and the other
characters. She is ignored and made to seem silly even though she is the only one who actually knew
what rape was. Sondra responds to the notion of rape fantasies by saying You mean, like some guy
jumping you in an alley or something, Sondra said (Atwood 102). This is dismissed by the other
characters because it doesn t fit into the setup Chrissy, the woman who asked everyone what their
fantasies were, established. Nancy Workman, an English professor ... Show more content on

The realization that Estelle has been telling her fantasies to a stranger in a bar creates an unexpected
and unpredictable twist. Estelle tells the audience that she frequents a bar and in doing this it s implied
that she is talking to someone that doesn t know her. Like here for instance, the waiters all know me
and if anyone bothers me ... (Atwood 110). Revealing this, Estelle makes herself even more vulnerable
than she already is. Estelle continues by saying, I don t know why I m telling you all this, except I
think it helps you get to know a person, especially at first, hearing some of the things they think about
(Atwood 110). Having Estelle say this makes the irony all the more powerful especially since she said:
...or someone you just met, who invites you up for a drink... (Atwood 110). Estelle is telling all of this
to someone she just met and in doing this she makes herself vulnerable instead of making it so that she
won t get raped. Estelle believes this because she later says ...how could a fellow do that to a person
he s just had a long conversation with... (Atwood 110). Conversing with someone does not prevent
rape and Estelle knows this because ... the statistics in the magazine, well, most of them anyway, they
say it s often someone you do know (110). Estelle ignores the statistics to make what she thinks
become the truth. Estelle doesn t understand that she is making herself vulnerable by talking to this
stranger. Estelle is trying to make herself appear strong and powerful, but talking to a stranger makes
Estelle lose her power. A further irony lies in Estelle s revelation, at the end of the story, that she has
fantasized these heuristic rape incidents in a bar, perhaps telling them to a new acquaintance, a
potential rapist (Jacobsen). This further shows Estelle s

According to the researcher, they examine individual who join gangs commit more crime then non

gangs have on aggregate crime patterns (George, 2007, p. 208)? This article is a largely review of
about individuals that are in gangs commit more crime then non gang members. The researcher used
empirical studies, about how gangs shape the spatial distribution of crime in and around their territory

The study they used was mapping in Pittsburg with participation of gang members and nongang youth
who resided in the gang neighborhood. The researcher then explored the effect of gang set on the
crime levels as carriers, neighbors, and non neighbors. They used 911 calls service calls to measure
crime. Klinger and Bridges (1997) found serious underreporting bias when using 911 data as a
measure of total crime. They attribute this bias to the fact that 23 percent of all crimes handled by
patrol officers emanate from police initiated actions and not from civilian 911 calls (George, 2007, p.
218). The researcher model the 911 call counts using the passion regression model, and they used
Propensity Score Weighting approach to avoid potential bias from the passion regression model. As a
result they examined city level offers very limited support for the facilitation effect, as only shots fired
activity demonstrates a significant increase during the formation stages of gangs in Pittsburgh (p 231).
Also, we compared crime trends over time for each type of census block (carrier, neighbor, non

dignified. They were not afraid to come up to us. When they did, they asked Clark if we would like to

When we arrived everyone welcomed us. We noticed all the colorful bead work and quillwork the

Classroom Management Plan
The first day of school is the most important day of the school year (Wong, 2009) . It is the day where
classroom rules and procedures are set in place and the students know what is expected from them. An
effective teacher will dedicate time in creating a classroom management plan in order to help maintain
appropriate behaviors of the students in the classroom. When classrooms aren t managed, they become
chaotic and less productive (Wong, 2009). Student s will respond and absorb the academic lesson if
the teacher is organized and consistent with the rules he/she sets in place.

The truth is that adolescents, despite occasional or numerous protests, need adults and want them to be
part of their lives, recognizing that they can nurture, teach, guide, and protect them on the journey to
adulthood (Association, 2002) .
Since adolescence in the fifth grade are developing their social and emotional skills, it is imperative to
use teaching strategies that promote healthy communications between students, and teachers.
Techniques that are easy to integrate into your everyday interactions with students that support the
discipline plan are: communicating positive expectations, correcting students in a positive way,
developing classroom pride, demonstrating caring, and preventing and reducing your own frustration
and stress (Boynton, 2005) . By following the mentioned techniques, I can envision a classroom that
will be self controlled, where students can take pride in knowing that they contributed to the success
of their education. Self control levels the playing field, and puts the keys to achievement in students
hands (Nathan DeWall, 2014) .
Classroom Procedures Every morning beginning with the first day of class, I will stand by the
classroom door with a smile and greet each of my students as I welcome them to my classroom One of
the most successful techniques is to meet and greet your students at the door as they enter the
classroom or line them up in an area for your greeting and instructions before entering

Staying Healthy During Flu Season
What is flu (influenza)?
It s simple. Flu (influenza) is caused by the influenza virus. It is an illness produced by RNA viruses
that infect the respiratory tract of people.
There are 3 types of influenza virus: A, B, and C. Most of the cases of flu are caused by virus A and B.
Symptoms
Let s remember some typical flu symptoms in order to be aware.

Virus loves to contaminate those areas.
Always, always wash your hands as many times as you can. Just think of your hands as the perfect
vehicle to transport the virus. But if you wash them they are destroyed.
As you can see, it is not difficult to stay healthy during flu season. It s just a matter of habits.
But if you get infected, don t worry, your immune system will take care of viruses that produce the flu.
Medications only aim to alleviate symptoms until the infection goes.
Summary
The flu is an illness produced by RNA viruses that infect the respiratory tract of humans and animals.

The Catbird Seat By Psy.
Recently, on the day of the talent show, I was asked to dance with a disabled student to a previous hit
titled Gangnam Style by Psy. As we were practicing the dance, he started to tease me repeatedly and I
wanted to say something, but I stopped myself because I knew it would not be acceptable. Although I
knew he was socially challenged, I took offense to his comments and felt that he was acting
inappropriately. David Birnbaum, writer of the essay, The Catbird Seat , which was published in the
New York Times Lives section, argues that as a disabled person he is allowed to take advantage of his
rights and has special privileges when the Americans with Disabilities Act is not fulfilled. Birnbaum s
essay discusses how he felt after becoming a quadriplegic and how the special treatment he receives
equals up to what he has faced from being handicapped. Also, Birnbaum concluded his essay by
describing the division between America s social hierarchies. The writer intended to catch the minds
of a more prestigious audience, particularly a group of scholars who have excess time to read the
newspaper. Through personal experiences and an unapologetic tone, Birnbaum conveys his overall
argument that the special privileges of the disabled community equal up to the pain and suffering they
encounter on a daily basis. Firstly, Birnbaum uses personal experiences to prove his stance that it is
permissible for people with disabilities to have certain advantages. Since Birnbaum is

Cadbury Corporate Governance Essay
Whilst the definition of corporate governance most widely used is the system by which companies are

Institute of Directors, 2011. Corporate governance is founded on laws, policies, processes, systems

The Cure For Anything Is Salt Water
As Isak Dinesen famously states in Seven Gothic Tales, The cure for anything is salt water tears,
sweat, or the sea. Paradoxically, since the days of ancient creation epics, the sea has been a symbol of
chaos and danger; clearly, water takes on these characteristics in the terrifying ocean in The
Awakening and in the river that swallows Virginia Woolf in The Hours. Yet for each major character in
the two novels, water yields lucidity in its wake; it is the cure that brings closure to each story and
enlightenment to each woman. Water, in many forms, affects every major character in [oh god what s
a synonym for the two novels ]. Fears of submersion, overpowering tears, visions of deep sea
creatures, and baptismal deaths all seep into the pages of the two novels. In some cases, water is
clearly something to be avoided; take, for example, Laura Brown s reluctance to begin her tasks as a
housewife in the morning. She must [summon] resolve, as if she were about to dive into cold water
(41) just to put down her book, because there is more passion and promise in Virginia Woolf s words
than in her own existence. For Clarissa Vaughn, too, water invokes feelings of discomfort; as she steps
from her home onto the streets of Greenwich Village, she pauses at the threshold as she would at the
edge of a pool, watching the turquoise water lapping at the tiles, the liquid nets of sun wavering in the
blue depths (9). She admires the freshness of the morning, [delaying] for a

African American Social Factors
PECS Essay In the following essay, It will explain the different factors of Political, Economical,
Cultural, and Social events that drove the Early Colonist to the New World as in Defined in the
Merriam Dictionary, the lord mass of North and South Americas. King James, the figurehead and
arbitrator of English government was establishing a industry of tobacco which was one of the
Economical reasons that drove the Europeans to the New World. He himself did not chew tobacco, but
it did give a broader horizon of how he can distribute and earn the money by selling the good. This act
was commonly known as the Tobacco Counterblaste. Another reason that the Europeans were

An example of such, is the Headright System. Since the king ruling at the time wanted to expand his
horizons he began with sending a group of colonizers to the New World. In the past when he had
began to do so, only 20% of the colonizers survived. So with his authority and better judgment, the
King began to give anybody 58 acres to anyone that volunteered to go on the voyage to the New
World Another Social reason is because of the number of Native Americans decrease do to social
events that the European. When Europeans began to trade with the Native they trade utensils and
clothing that had germs and diseases attached that the Natives were not attached to, so before the
colonies came along 1/10 Natives died from natural diseases. When the europeans came along
however the number jump to 8/10 so instead of decimation it had jumped to octomation. The third
reason was because of trade. When the Europeans first settle they traded money, but when they came
across the Natives they traded something of the same worth as stated above in Economics. So the
Indians with the New technology that the Europeans carried over, started to gain the habits and way of
the settlers. Property became a major problem between tribes, and who had access to what hunting

Doughnuts In America
Doughnuts, who does not like them? They are the iconic American breakfast, and it ceases to amaze

that Americans will do anything for food; it is quite amusing that they will drive to a Donut Bank

their car, get off their lazy butts and walk themselves into the Bakery to purchase the doughnut. Burn

now people can go to the Bank and pick up prescriptions from pharmacies.

Undertones In Coraline
If you want a movie to watch that is geared towards children but will give any sensible person

Coraline s only support is a cat that occasionally speaks, a strange young boy, and her eccentric
neighbors while reality is bent and twisted around her. This movie is made using stop motion and
puppets. The time and effort it took to make this movie is impressive on its own, but the nuances are
what makes Coraline a spectacular movie, along with the fact that Neil Gaiman wrote the book that
the screenplay is based upon. One thing is for certain, you will never look at sewing materials the

Because of this, Coraline has a universal audience; it appeals to both kids and adults. What translates

The Importance Of Oral Communication Skills Among...
The gap between oral communication proficiency among university graduates and the workplace
requirements of the same has received a contentious attention in the recent past. Due to industrial
transformation and global competition, university students are increased being required to integrate
their oral skills and their specialized knowledge for them to gain an edge in the job market and remain
synchronized with the world as well. Notably, oral communication has become a backbone of most
businesses. The importance of oral communication among employees constitutes critical elements of
public relations, meetings, sales and countless interpersonal communications. With this background
information, this essay seeks to investigate the importance of oral communication skills among
university graduates from a managerial perspective. To achieve this aim, this essay will be structured
as follows; first, drawing from previous literature and case examples, the importance of oral
communication will be discussed. Eventually, a brief summary of this essay s findings will be
provided.
Literature is replete with studies that emphasize on the need for oral communication as a prerequisite
to university students personal, academic and professional successes. Notably, the importance of oral
communication skills among graduates is manifested as early as during the learning period. For
example, university students with ineffective communication skills fail to absorb the learning

Strengths Of A Mediator Essay
Although private, introverted and difficult to know, the Mediator has many strengths that make them
who they are. The Mediator is very peace loving and prefers to not be in charge. Their shyness,
however, does not stop them from lending a helping hand to others. Mediators do not like to be
constrained by rules and are very open minded and flexible. When combined with their intuitive
nature, INFPs are very creative. As a mediator, this is true because I ve always been more interested in
more artsy things. I preferred things like drawing over math equations, and creative writing over
academic writing. Their passion and energy make them dedicated and hardworking in order to push
through hard times and pursue their goals. Though it is good to be work hard at a goal, Mediators like
myself sometimes get to the point where they become impractical, abandoning practical matters in
order to succeed. For example, in 7th grade, I worked on one science project so hard that I skipped
dinner and hours of sleep just to try and get a good grade. The test results are also true in the fact ...

The Importance Of Higher Education In The Progressive Era...
Can higher education make you as a person? A college education according to Americans may make
you a better individual. In College Calculus by John Cassidy he writes an essay and proposes the
question, What s the real value of higher education? John Cassidy is a North American journalist who
writes for the New Yorker. Cassidy challenges how college is a large investment for an American
citizen. This essay can also effect the parents because it is their money that pays for students going to
college. Promotions for expansion in higher education were higher during the Great Society Era.
College was once viewed as an opportunity for a talented few. During the Progressive Era people
thought that a better education would make a better person. Both the Progressive Era and the Society
Era were times when the country was trying to become better and eliminate a lot of problems. Since
the beginning of these Era s many different people have been trying to better the federal funding in
making college more affordable. People who advertise college have went on and on about how it s a
necessity. The Puritans who created Harvard were worried about how college could lead to a shortage
in the church. In College Calculus, John Dewey declares that a good education would make you a
better citizen. With the increase of inequality in the world, receiving a college or post high school
education is no longer the way to branch out from the rest of the society. College is now necessary to

Impact Of The Invention Of Computers In The 20th Century
In the 20th century, people saw sufficiently of important variations in the life to recall forever in their
life. Most changes were technology progressions due to countless inventions, which even today
changing forms of ordinary life of society. In my view, the most extraordinary invention which can be
recalled in history is invention of computers. Because, computers prejudiced our office, systems,
education and science.
First after occupying to our life, computers have developed one of the main component of office
workers. Due to computers industries are saving a countless deal of money and increasing efficiency
of office workers. For example, computer is a good device to achieve data storage of businesses and
thus can help to decrease the huge amount of paper which are required for ordinary working issues.
Also, they can be used to improve efficiency in areas such as word dispensation, data organization and
data access. Therefore, it is foretold that computers will remain as an important device of office staff
for a long time.
Second, education is one of the most significant influences of expansion and due to computers
education system of nations are refining. After development of computer, quality of education has
been improved and students has begun to study in collaborating ways such as online performances,
group knowledge through the Internet and taking online sequences, which are obtainable by great
universities such as Harvard, MIT and Stanford. The use of computers

Compatibilism Vs Determinism
Determinism is the doctrine that all events, including human action, are ultimately determined by
causes external to the will. The determinists view has many mechanical connotations and uses the
laws of physics and nature to explain how everything in our universe is planned. A particularly
interesting argument for determinism comes from neurological experiments in which subjects are
required to make a simple decision and document when they chose while being monitored by an
fMRI. The researchers observed neuron firing in the subjects brains seconds prior to making their
choice. It is possible that our consciousness is simply observing the brain s reactions to a stimulus. On
the cognitive position of determinism, our brains are not as self aware ... Show more content on

Compatibilism is the thesis that free will is compatible with determinism. Because free will is
typically taken to be a necessary condition of moral responsibility, compatibilism is sometimes
expressed as a thesis about the compatibility between moral responsibility and determinism.
(Mckenna) Hume believed that even though potential acts are predetermined due to the laws of nature,
humans still have the choice to do what they please. However he had to avoid any misconception by
stating that the lack of responsibility implies a lack of freedom. He sought the common ground
between the opposing sides of the free will problem. Free will to Hume was the power to take any
action by the will of one s own volition. However, having such admiration for Sir Isaac Newton,
Hume had to consider the mechanical laws of physics, which make it difficult to incorporate
something so abstract as free will. Despite of this dilemma, Hume wrote men still entertain a strong
propensity to believe, that they penetrate farther into the powers of nature, and perceive something
like a necessary connection between the cause and the effect. When again they turn their reflections
towards the operations of their own minds, and feel no such connection of the motive and the action;
they are thence apt to suppose, that there is a difference between the effects, which result from
material force, and those which arise from thought and intelligence. (Enquiry, 156,

Evaluation Of A Private Institution Of Higher Education...
As a private institution of higher education accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent
Colleges and Schools (ACICS), Southern Technical College (STC) is required to hold two Program
Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings per year for each accredited program. The purpose of the PAC
meeting is to solicit input from industry professionals, program alumni, current students and other
community members. Section 3 1 512b. Program Planning of the ACICS Accreditation Criteria,
Policies, Procedures and Standards states:
(a) The formation of policies and design of educational programs should involve students, graduates,
administrators, faculty, and other interested parties such as advisory committees. This practice also
should serve as an evaluation process to determine effectiveness and relevance when the institution
relies upon curricula, courses, courseware, or coursework that is designed, leased, or owned by
another entity or provided by or through a network of entities.
Participation is voluntary; however, certain procedural guidelines govern the administration of the
PAC meetings in order for them to qualify as an official meeting that satisfies the accreditation
requirements.
At the conclusion of the previous ACICS Audit, STC received several recommendations to improve
the administration of the PAC meetings. In the intervening years, however, these suggestions have not
been implemented and with accreditation renewal scheduled in 2016, these deficiencies were noted

Reflection On Supreme Court Cases

constitutional amendment it challenges, and some quotes from the case from James Acton. Finally I
will share the result of the case and how it ended, then my opinion of the court case and what i think
and how I think the ruling should have went down. So before I get into it, I will giver you a summary
of the case so you can understand what I am saying before I start mumbling on about the court case
and what I think about it and how I think it should have turned out. In 1991 at Vernonia s Washington
Grade School, a boy named James Acton was starting seventh grade and like most kids, he wanted to
do sports and have fun with other kids and get active. So that s what James did, he went home and
asked his parents for permission to play football and have fun, his parents liked the thought of him
getting into sports and having fun with a team and learning about teamwork and in general meeting
new people and having more friends. So they took James to the doctors to get his physical, so that they
knew he was capable of playing. When then suddenly the doctor wanted to take a drug test and then

the goal of the design was to provide a space that did not condescend to kids by using primary colors
and overly childish decor, but rather to create an experience comfortable for the littlest through the

feature of this children s bookstore; the menagerie of animals dwelling between the shelves.
The bookstore industry in the US is comprised of a mix of a few large chain bookstores such as
Barnes and Noble and many smaller, private and/or family owned businesses. As far as market size

Pork Production in the United States
In recent years, pork production has become a big business in the United States. In the past, the raising
of swine was handled by small farming operations. Today, however, pigs are raised in large factories,
some of which have the capacity to hold more than 100,000 animals (Lynch 14). This has created
problems in terms of handling large amounts of excremental waste. These problems recently became
evident in the state of North Carolina. A few years ago, North Carolina became the primary location
for large scale hog raising operations. In particular, large companies like Coharie Hog Farm and
Murphy Family Farms began locating along the eastern side of Interstate 95. This area was found to
be suitable for hog farming because it is a coastal plain where the land is flat, the rivers wide and
human habitation scattered ( The Brown Lagoon 24). The state of North Carolina was also favorable
for large scale swine operations because there was a lack of laws regulating that type of business. In
order to ensure their ability to operate without being heavily regulated, the major swine companies in
North Carolina donated huge amounts of money to the leading politicians in the state. Thus, the major
swine farmers were able to gain a sense of immunity as a result of their powerful political
connections. At the same time, the state s leading politicians tended to encourage such operations
because they were providing employment and thus improving the overall economic welfare of

into the market. Almost everywhere around the globe, bilingual professionals are in high demand.
Also, bilingualism opens up two worlds of experience, job opportunities, literature, resources, and
cultural heritage. Bilinguals have the privilege of getting their information from a wider variety of
resources. Besides, research has shown that it s easier for bilingual children to acquire other languages
later in life. A study conducted by professors of the Department of Special Education of the University

In conclusion, the advantages of raising children to be bilingual greatly outweigh any disadvantage it

It can be used to connect 6LoWPAN networks directly to other networks and the Internet through an
IP router. The 6LoWPAN protocol is designed for low power radio transmitter that have to operate
over lossy channels. 6LoWPAN implements header compression to reduce the overhead needed to
send an individual data packet. It is able to accomplish this by removing redundant header fields and
using a compressed version of the routing address. To accommodate for the limited packet sizes,
fragmentation and reassembly is required to transmit large packets. [2]The unique constraints of IoT
networks also require a specialized network routing protocol. Currently the leading candidate is the
RPL protocol. Typically, all sensor nodes in an IoT network are connected the root node via a multi
hop path. The root node often serves as the data/network coordinator as well as a gateway to the
Internet. For each root node a Destination Oriented Directed Acyclic Graph is used to optimize the
path from any node back to the root node. This Graph is created by calculating shortest path to the
root node that adheres to specific set of constraints. Some of these constraints might include:
minimizing the number of hops, only using encrypted links, avoiding battery operated devices, etc.
Once, the graph is created data can be forwarded along the graph to the root node [4].The CoAP
protocol operates at the application layer and is similar to HTTP, but with

the chance of the business to succeed will surely be very high. The first thing is that the good leader

The Baroque Period Of The Baroque And Classical Period
At this time last year, I would have considered all music before the 20th century to be classical.
However, after taking a Dual Credit Music Appreciation course, I realized that old music cannot
simply be grouped into a single category. There are so many differences that I had no idea existed.
Throughout the years, music has changed and evolved, meeting the needs of listeners and performers.
Different composers have been catalysts in this change as they have developed new styles and genres.
Even though the classical period is directly subsequent of the baroque period, baroque and classical
music have countless different qualities and characteristics. The baroque period of music commenced
in the year 1600 and ended around 1750 (Fuller Baroque ). Its texture was mainly polyphonic (Fuller
Classical ). Polyphonic means that two or more different melodies are played simultaneously
(McComb). This provides an energetic rhythm, long melodies, and many ornaments. The most famous
composers of this time period were Vivaldi, Corelli, Monteverdi, Purcell, Handel, J.S. Bach, and
Couperin. Many new styles of music were introduced, such as operas, sonatas, oratorios, suites,
fugues, and concertos. Orchestras began to develop, but it was not until the classical period when
orchestral music was perfected (Fuller Baroque ). In 1750, the classical period of music started, and it
terminated in 1810. The texture was primarily homophonic (Fuller Classical ), which means there is

Introduction For many, Oscar Wilde is seen as a prominent literary figure, known for his novel The

contributions make up only a small fraction of his complex life. Wilde s life consisted not just of
artistry and literary genius but passion, scrutiny and scandal as well. The drama and passion of his
narratives mirrored that of the life he lived; characters hid their true identities and struggled with their
image, just as Wilde did throughout his life. One of the struggles faced by Wilde was that of his
sexuality the the scrutiny he faced because of it. While Wilde s exact sexuality has been debated over

Although it is seen by many historians as a time of expansion, technological revolution, and cultural
shifts, it can also be viewed as one consisting of immense prejudices in an attempt to cling to
traditional values and norms. This can be seen in the vastly different views towards men and women
which presented themselves during this time. Although the term Interplanetary Theory of Gender is a
fairly new one, the effects of that mindset can be seen throughout history, seen most especially in the
Victorian Era. During this era, the sexes were not only viewed as vastly different, but were often times
viewed as different species altogether. According to Kathryn Hughes, the Victorian Era divided the
sexes more than any other era up until that point in history. Although many women had begun the
fight for their rights, gender inequity permeated all aspects of British life (Marsh). Women were
defined by the domestic life, many times barred from receiving an education or any legal rights. The
misogyny that limited women was one that was instilled at birth, allowing the idea that women should
be viewed lesser than men as unquestionable and and permanent fact in society s eyes. John Stuart

understanding of sex trafficking. The quality and sufficiency of the literature review with many
references build up on researchers expertise and skills in such field. Importantly, the arguments used
in the introduction are well balanced, which supports researcher s objectivity. Following the
introduction, the research presents a theoretical framework based on demand and supply theory, which
offer a good understanding and possible outcomes of the legalisation of prostitution and offer an
opportunity to look at the issue from different aspects. On the other hand, the theoretical assumption
in research does not give us a clear explanation of the issue raised. Researchers have answered the
proposed question using quantitative and qualitative research methods. The study is based on the
secondary analysis of quantitative data, which, as noted by Goodwin (2012) refers to using pre
existing statistical data. As mentioned in the research design section, researchers relied on data
gathered mainly by the International Organisation for Migration and reports published by the United
Nation Office on Drugs and Crime Reports (UNODC), which provide a cross country statistics on
human trafficking in 161 countries over the 1996 2003 period. The validity is questionable due to the
time issue as the

Government Is Best, Autocracy Or Democracy
In deciding which government is best, autocracy or democracy, one must first define their
understanding of best. Should one be looking for structure, order, or longevity, then a reasonable
response would be some variation of autocracy. However, if one is looking for a form of government
which maximizes involvement from the general public and is flexible, then democracy may be a better
option. Both autocracy and democracy style governments can be divided into further subcategories,
such as a constitutional monarchy or modern authoritarian autocracy, and all of the options will be
considered, analyzed, and understood in terms what they are best for. To create a framework for the
discussion, Why We Shouldn t Judge a Country by Its GDP by Michael Green (2015) and Economist
article What s Gone Wrong with Democracy (2014) will be summarized and used to compare Russia,
China, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Relevant terms, such as modernization, legitimacy, and
consent, will be intertwined with the discussions of forms of government to understand how
governmental structures operate in relation to people. In conclusion, I will argue that the best form of
government is a federal parliamentary republic. Michael Green s article, Why We Shouldn t Judge A
Country by Its GDP, explored the concept of judging a country s growth by the prosperity of its
citizens, not by its economic prowess (2015). Green and his team developed a model in 2014, called
the Social Progress Index,

Being An Effective Writer
Being an effective writer requires being able to identify your strengths and weaknesses and what is
effective versus what is ineffective with your writing. The first principle to be improved is being more
specific. Sometimes as a writer responding to an email or assignment by writing too fast can cause the
person to miss your initial point in the response and then there will be another email asking for clarity.
This will allow them to comprehend the initial response and take action if needed or send a thank you
in return (Cardon, P., 2013). This leads to my second principle to critique which is being more
accurate with the delivery of the message. The more accurate you are in the message the more credible
you become to the customer, colleagues,

Iris Apfel s Legacy
After a strenuous day of work, I advocate for treating one s self. Occasionally, I will treat [or gift?]
myself by watching Netflix. While scrolling through endless action, comedy, and horror movies, I
stumbled upon a documentary titled, Iris. Iris initially intrigued me when I caught sight of the cover
photo, which featured an older woman in funky glasses in front of a vintage floral print background. I
began watching the film, clueless to what was forthcoming.
Iris gives viewers a glimpse of [in] the life of ninety four year old Iris Apfel. Essentially, Apfel s
philosophy is to be as bold as possible. She also advises to accept everyone, especially yourself.
Embracing one s self will maximize creativity. I have adopted many of her important

Bowenian Family Research Paper
REFLECTIONS ON BOWENIAN FAMILY THERAPY
This paper is an analysis of my family history in Bowenian terms. I will examine four generations on
my side of the family. I have included a genogram in the appendix to examine my personal
intergenerational patterns for assessment. I will also examine my family of origin in the categories of
race, ethnicity, religion, social class, geographic location, jobs, mental health and medical concerns.
The paper concludes comparing Bowenian ideas to other systemic concepts.
Race and Ethnicity Both my paternal and material families of origin are Caucasian. Ethnicity is Scotch
Irish. With reasonable accuracy I have been able to determine that my maternal great great grandfather
(not reflected on this genogram) was living as a young man in Georgia during the Civil War period. In
my maternal line I am also told that there is a Cree Indian relative in my great grandparent line; time
and place is unknown.
Religion
The grandparents of both sides of my family based their faith in fundamentalist Christianity. The
dominant religious beliefs are Congregationalism or modern day Church of Christ on the maternal line
primarily due to the influence of my maternal step grandmother Georgia. My grandfather (Uhlan) was
influenced by her in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These lifestyle artifacts are evident in the frugalness that my paternal grandmother displays in saving
scraps of paper, food and a particular obsession with saving every penny she finds; behaviors
obviously related to lessons learned in that economic tragedy. My maternal grandparents were also
very frugal and avoided debt. Aunts and Uncles as baby boomers tended to be more acclimated to
living middle class lifestyles and accumulating debt to do so. My brother has lived most of his life
under poverty conditions. I lived a spartan military lifestyle but with rising income I enjoy a middle

Cystic Fibrosis Introduction
Introduction
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited chronic disease that must be carried by both parents in order to for
the person to suffer from it. If one of your parents has it, then you will definitely be a carrier of the
disease and it will be carried to your offspring. Children who inherit a faulty CFTR gene from each
parent will have CF.
This disease affects organs such as the liver, lungs, pancreas, and intestines.
This disease disrupts the body s salt balance leaving too little salt and water on the outside of cells
which makes the thin mucus that protects the linings of the airways, digestive system, reproductive
system, and other organs and tissues free of germs become thick and sticky thus clogging the airways
and damaging the lungs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When someone has Cystic fibrosis this gene is broken and doesn t function normally.
Treatment:
Cystic fibrosis can not be cured, it is chronic, but treatments could be helpful to ease the symptoms.
There are techniques to help you get rid of the thick mucus, for example, the airway clearance
technique, there is a common method called postural drainage and percussion. Which where you will
sit or lie in different positions to let the thick mucus flow from your small airways in your lungs to the
large ones, then someone or you could tap your chest to ease the mucus more so you could cough and
get rid of it.
Inhaled drugs like dornase alfa (Pulmozyme), albuterol, salt solution, steroids, or antibiotics thin
mucus, clear the lungs and fight infections. Medicines such as ibuprofen fight inflammation and
reduce swelling in your lungs. (webmd)
Taking enzyme pills will help in digesting fats and proteins and absorb more vitamins from your food.
Also taking vitamins A, D, and E can help in replacing nutrients that your intestines can t absorb.
There is also oxygen therapy which helps if you have severe lung disease and need to breathe oxygen
through a mask or prongs in your

The Works of Blaise Pascal
Why Not? Blaise Pascal argues in his work Pensées that skepticism regarding our nature as created by
God is unavoidable if reason is to be our guide. He states that we must silence reason and look to faith
in order to know ourselves as we actually are. Without rational grounds for belief in Christianity, how
are we to know if God even exists? Pascal answers this by saying we, ourselves, already are involved
in a wager as to the existence of God. (Pascal 232) Either he exists, or he does not. But, the major
focus is the reward of this wager. Pascal believes that God rewards believers and punishes
disbelievers, so he thinks that it is rational to be faithful. In this paper, I will argue against Pascal when
he stated that it is rational to be faithful. The Wager; does He exist or does He not? Pascal uses the
Wager as a tool for reasoning into faith. Reason and intellect cannot decide the question of whether
God exists or not; therefore, to Pascal, it makes sense to choose the option that would benefit us most
should we be right. There are four ways to look at the Wager: believe in God, and if he exists, have an
eternal life of happiness, or two, believe in God and he does not exist, you do not lose anything. If one
does not believe in God, but it turns out that He does exist, that individual loses the ability to gain an
eternal life of happiness, but if they do not believe, and it turns out they were right; they fail to gain
anything other than contentment.

Phil Levine By Emily Dickinson Analysis
Phil Levine, skinny old poet, what s the use. I think that I like you I entered the dark plants of Detroit.
One night in a bar in Plymouth, MI. a friend and I played pool after the swing shift at American
Motors. Crossed hockey sticks, autographed by Howe Lindsey were on the wall. The game of pool
cost 20 cents. Above the urinal someone had scrawled a short poem by Emily Dickenson. How
ignorant I was as I spent the summer looking for her. I thought she had great courage to leave such
words in the men s room. It was another year or two before I learned who Emily really was during a
junior college literature class. In early March of 1966, the factory roof had remnants of the winter
snow. Clumps of mud and snow lined the sidewalks. My friends

Blatter and Platini will avoid going face to face ahead of the friendly match after swiss authorities questions both of them. Sepp Blatter and Michel platini will usually travel down to Switzerland just to watch the friendly matches. I also heard that, most of the 2006 World Cup was full of bribery and chaos. People didn t realize there was bribery going on because, all others cared about was the World Cup and which country was going to win. And under FIFA president Sepp blatter s 17 year reign, exclusive foul play has surfaced. In 2010, the host countries for the 2018 and the 2022 World Cups were selected. Introduction: Research Question:Are there correlations between different risk factors that teenagers possess that attribute to Type 2 diabetes and what do they mean in reference to the chances of future diagnosis and health? Type 2 Diabetes is a prevalent and growing epidemic in South Texas, according to the American Diabetes Association. It is the community s duty and obligation to recognize the problems and risk factors that attribute to Type 2 Diabetes, so that further generations can avoid these lifestyle habits. Type 2 Diabetes is an insulin deficiency disease that occurs in people aged 40 or older, and is much more common than Type 1 Diabetes because it can be acquired genetically, but it is more commonly a progressive disease based on the individual s unhealthy lifestyle, which is why adolescents are still at risk to contract Type 2 Diabetes. When a person has Type 2 Diabetes, they may suffer from insulin resistance. The insulin levels in their body are too low, or the cells in a person s body do not respond properlyto the correct amount of insulin. Insulin is a hormone produced in the pancreas that strictly regulates the use and amount of glucose (sugar) levels in an individual s blood. Sugar must be stored for the future or used as energy by the body. Without insulin regulating an individual s blood sugar level, a person may become hyperglycemic, with too high of a ... There is evidence of constructive, specific feedback that is linked to the lesson objectives. Teachers plan assessments to learn what students have knowledge of and what they need to practice on. Assessment use in the classroom allows both the students and teachers to see if goals of education are being met. Assessments affect a variety of things such as the grades students have, instructional needs, and placement in classes. Assessments can reveal more than just if a student knows the material or not, assessments can also reveal a students strengths and weaknesses. The student may be able to answer all questions correctly on a multiple choice test, but then fails an essay questions because they are unable to explain themselves due to the lack of knowledge of the content. Assessments are a great way to receive data on the student s knowledge, but making sure the teacher is using the right and appropriate assessment can be a major factor. My CT gives a variety of assessments when determining the level of understanding students have reached for the content being taught. When assessing our class, we look for if students have mastered a topic, need more review, or if something needs to be retaught. Sondra is described in terms of how she plays bridge. Sondra is not the world s best bridge player (Atwood 102). This gives Sondra an insignificance to the narrator and the other characters. She is ignored and made to seem silly even though she is the only one who actually knew what rape was. Sondra responds to the notion of rape fantasies by saying You mean, like some guy jumping you in an alley or something, Sondra said (Atwood 102). Estelle continues by saying, I don t know why I m telling you all this, except I think it helps you get to know a person, especially at first, hearing some of the things they think about (Atwood 110). Having Estelle say this makes the irony all the more powerful especially since she said: ...or someone you just met, who invites you up for a drink... (Atwood 110). Estelle is telling all of this to someone she just met and in doing this she makes herself vulnerable instead of making it so that she won t get raped. Estelle believes this because she later says ...how could a fellow do that to a person he s just had a long conversation with... (Atwood 110). Estelle ignores the statistics to make what she thinks become the truth. Estelle doesn t understand that she is making herself vulnerable by talking to this stranger. Estelle is trying to make herself appear strong and powerful, but talking to a stranger makes Estelle lose her power. A further irony lies in Estelle s revelation, at the end of the story, that she has fantasized these heuristic rape incidents in a bar, perhaps telling them to a new acquaintance, a potential rapist (Jacobsen). As we were practicing the dance, he started to tease me repeatedly and I wanted to say something, but I stopped myself because I knew it would not be acceptable. Although I knew he was socially challenged, I took offense to his comments and felt that he was acting inappropriately. David Birnbaum, writer of the essay, The Catbird Seat , which was published in the New York Times Lives section, argues that as a disabled person he is allowed to take advantage of his rights and has special privileges when the Americans with Disabilities Act is not fulfilled. Birnbaum s essay discusses how he felt after becoming a quadriplegic and how the special treatment he receives equals up to what he has faced from being handicapped. Also, Birnbaum concluded his essay by describing the division between America s social hierarchies. The writer intended to catch the minds of a more prestigious audience, particularly a group of scholars who have excess time to read the newspaper. Through personal experiences and an unapologetic tone, Birnbaum conveys his overall argument that the special privileges of the disabled community equal up to the pain and suffering they encounter on a daily basis. Paradoxically, since the days of ancient creation epics, the sea has been a symbol of chaos and danger; clearly, water takes on these characteristics in the terrifying ocean in The Awakening and in the river that swallows Virginia Woolf in The Hours. Yet for each major character in the two novels, water yields lucidity in its wake; it is the cure that brings closure to each story and enlightenment to each woman. Water, in many forms, affects every major character in [oh god what s a synonym for the two novels ]. Fears of submersion, overpowering tears, visions of deep sea creatures, and baptismal deaths all seep into the pages of the two novels. In some cases, water is clearly something to be avoided; take, for example, Laura Brown s reluctance to begin her tasks as a housewife in the morning. She must [summon] resolve, as if she were about to dive into cold water (41) just to put down her book, because there is more passion and promise in Virginia Woolf s words than in her own existence. For Clarissa Vaughn, too, water invokes feelings of discomfort; as she steps from her home onto the streets of Greenwich Village, she pauses at the threshold as she would at the edge of a pool, watching the turquoise water lapping at the tiles, the liquid nets of sun wavering in the blue depths (9). So with his authority and better judgment, the King began to give anybody 58 acres to anyone that volunteered to go on the voyage to the New World Another Social reason is because of the number of Native Americans decrease do to social events that the European. When Europeans began to trade with the Native they trade utensils and clothing that had germs and diseases attached that the Natives were not attached to, so before the colonies came along 1/10 Natives died from natural diseases. The Mediator is very peace loving and prefers to not be in charge. Their shyness, however, does not stop them from lending a helping hand to others. Mediators do not like to be constrained by rules and are very open minded and flexible. When combined with their intuitive nature, INFPs are very creative. As a mediator, this is true because I ve always been more interested in more artsy things. I preferred things like drawing over math equations, and creative writing over academic writing. Their passion and energy make them dedicated and hardworking in order to push through hard times and pursue their goals. Though it is good to be work hard at a goal, Mediators like myself sometimes get to the point where they become impractical, abandoning practical matters in order to succeed. A particularly interesting argument for determinism comes from neurological experiments in which subjects are required to make a simple decision and document when they chose while being monitored by an fMRI. The researchers observed neuron firing in the subjects brains seconds prior to making their choice. It is possible that our consciousness is simply observing the brain s reactions to a stimulus. Because free will is typically taken to be a necessary condition of moral responsibility, compatibilism is sometimes expressed as a thesis about the compatibility between moral responsibility and determinism. (Mckenna) Hume believed that even though potential acts are predetermined due to the laws of nature, humans still have the choice to do what they please. However he had to avoid any misconception by stating that the lack of responsibility implies a lack of freedom. He sought the common ground between the opposing sides of the free will problem. Free will to Hume was the power to take any action by the will of one s own volition. However, having such admiration for Sir Isaac Newton, Hume had to consider the mechanical laws of physics, which make it difficult to incorporate something so abstract as free will. Despite of this dilemma, Hume wrote men still entertain a strong propensity to believe, that they penetrate farther into the powers of nature, and perceive something like a necessary connection between the cause and the effect. When again they turn their reflections towards the operations of their own minds, and feel no such connection of the motive and the action; they are thence apt to suppose, that there is a difference between the effects, which result from material force, and those which arise from thought and intelligence. • 29. Pork Production in the United States In recent years, pork production has become a big business in the United States. In the past, the raising of swine was handled by small farming operations. Today, however, pigs are raised in large factories, some of which have the capacity to hold more than 100,000 animals (Lynch 14). This has created problems in terms of handling large amounts of excremental waste. These problems recently became evident in the state of North Carolina. A few years ago, North Carolina became the primary location for large scale hog raising operations. In particular, large companies like Coharie Hog Farm and Murphy Family Farms began locating along the eastern side of Interstate 95. This area was found to be suitable for hog farming because it is a coastal plain where the land is flat, the rivers wide and human habitation scattered ( The Brown Lagoon 24). The state of North Carolina was also favorable for large scale swine operations because there was a lack of laws regulating that type of business. In order to ensure their ability to operate without being heavily regulated, the major swine companies in North Carolina donated huge amounts of money to the leading politicians in the state. Thus, the major swine farmers were able to gain a sense of immunity as a result of their powerful political connections. It is able to accomplish this by removing redundant header fields and using a compressed version of the routing address. To accommodate for the limited packet sizes, fragmentation and reassembly is required to transmit large packets. [2]The unique constraints of IoT networks also require a specialized network routing protocol. Currently the leading candidate is the RPL protocol. However, after taking a Dual Credit Music Appreciation course, I realized that old music cannot simply be grouped into a single category. There are so many differences that I had no idea existed. Throughout the years, music has changed and evolved, meeting the needs of listeners and performers. Different composers have been catalysts in this change as they have developed new styles and genres. Should one be looking for structure, order, or longevity, then a reasonable response would be some variation of autocracy. However, if one is looking for a form of government which maximizes involvement from the general public and is flexible, then democracy may be a better option. Both autocracy and democracy style governments can be divided into further subcategories, such as a constitutional monarchy or modern authoritarian autocracy, and all of the options will be considered, analyzed, and understood in terms what they are best for. To create a framework for the discussion, Why We Shouldn t Judge a Country by Its GDP by Michael Green (2015) and Economist article What s Gone Wrong with Democracy (2014) will be summarized and used to compare Russia, China, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Relevant terms, such as modernization, legitimacy, and consent, will be intertwined with the discussions of forms of government to understand how governmental structures operate in relation to people. In conclusion, I will argue that the best form of government is a federal parliamentary republic. Michael Green s article, Why We Shouldn t Judge A Country by Its GDP, explored the concept of judging a country s growth by the prosperity of its citizens, not by its economic prowess (2015). Green and his team developed a model in 2014, called the Social Progress Index, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Being An Effective Writer Being an effective writer requires being able to identify your strengths and weaknesses and what is effective versus what is ineffective with your writing. The first principle to be improved is being more specific. Sometimes as a writer responding to an email or assignment by writing too fast can cause the person to miss your initial point in the response and then there will be another email asking for clarity. This will allow them to comprehend the initial response and take action if needed or send a thank you in return (Cardon, P., 2013). This leads to my second principle to critique which is being more accurate with the delivery of the message. The more accurate you are in the message the more credible you become to the customer, colleagues, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Iris Apfel s Legacy After a strenuous day of work, I advocate for treating one s self. Occasionally, I will treat [or gift?] myself by watching Netflix. While scrolling through endless action, comedy, and horror movies, I stumbled upon a documentary titled, Iris. Iris initially intrigued me when I caught sight of the cover photo, which featured an older woman in funky glasses in front of a vintage floral print background. I began watching the film, clueless to what was forthcoming. Iris gives viewers a glimpse of [in] the life of ninety four year old Iris Apfel. Essentially, Apfel s philosophy is to be as bold as possible. She also advises to accept everyone, especially yourself. Embracing one s self will maximize creativity. • 44. Bowenian Family Research Paper REFLECTIONS ON BOWENIAN FAMILY THERAPY This paper is an analysis of my family history in Bowenian terms. I will examine four generations on my side of the family. I have included a genogram in the appendix to examine my personal intergenerational patterns for assessment. I will also examine my family of origin in the categories of race, ethnicity, religion, social class, geographic location, jobs, mental health and medical concerns. The paper concludes comparing Bowenian ideas to other systemic concepts. Race and Ethnicity Both my paternal and material families of origin are Caucasian. Ethnicity is Scotch Irish. With reasonable accuracy I have been able to determine that my maternal great great grandfather (not reflected on this genogram) was living as a young man in Georgia during the Civil War period. In my maternal line I am also told that there is a Cree Indian relative in my great grandparent line; time and place is unknown. Religion The grandparents of both sides of my family based their faith in fundamentalist Christianity. The dominant religious beliefs are Congregationalism or modern day Church of Christ on the maternal line primarily due to the influence of my maternal step grandmother Georgia. My grandfather (Uhlan) was influenced by her in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 45. Cystic Fibrosis Introduction Introduction Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited chronic disease that must be carried by both parents in order to for the person to suffer from it. If one of your parents has it, then you will definitely be a carrier of the disease and it will be carried to your offspring. Children who inherit a faulty CFTR gene from each parent will have CF. This disease affects organs such as the liver, lungs, pancreas, and intestines. This disease disrupts the body s salt balance leaving too little salt and water on the outside of cells which makes the thin mucus that protects the linings of the airways, digestive system, reproductive system, and other organs and tissues free of germs become thick and sticky thus clogging the airways and damaging the lungs. ... • 46. The Works of Blaise Pascal Why Not? Blaise Pascal argues in his work Pensées that skepticism regarding our nature as created by God is unavoidable if reason is to be our guide. He states that we must silence reason and look to faith in order to know ourselves as we actually are. Without rational grounds for belief in Christianity, how are we to know if God even exists? Pascal answers this by saying we, ourselves, already are involved in a wager as to the existence of God. (Pascal 232) Either he exists, or he does not. But, the major focus is the reward of this wager. Pascal believes that God rewards believers and punishes disbelievers, so he thinks that it is rational to be faithful. In this paper, I will argue against Pascal when he stated that it is rational to be faithful. The Wager; does He exist or does He not? Pascal uses the Wager as a tool for reasoning into faith. Reason and intellect cannot decide the question of whether God exists or not; therefore, to Pascal, it makes sense to choose the option that would benefit us most should we be right. There are four ways to look at the Wager: believe in God, and if he exists, have an eternal life of happiness, or two, believe in God and he does not exist, you do not lose anything. If one does not believe in God, but it turns out that He does exist, that individual loses the ability to gain an eternal life of happiness, but if they do not believe, and it turns out they were right; they fail to gain anything other than contentment. ... One night in a bar in Plymouth, MI. a friend and I played pool after the swing shift at American Motors. Crossed hockey sticks, autographed by Howe Lindsey were on the wall. The game of pool cost 20 cents. Above the urinal someone had scrawled a short poem by Emily Dickenson. How ignorant I was as I spent the summer looking for her. I thought she had great courage to leave such words in the men s room. It was another year or two before I learned who Emily really was during a junior college literature class. In early March of 1966, the factory roof had remnants of the winter snow. Clumps of mud and snow lined the sidewalks. My friends ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
