Why Are Animals Endangered Animals
Why are animals being endangered? Endangered species are any species that s threatened; their
numbers of is being decreased and have the danger of getting extinct. A threatened animal is likely to
become endangered in the upcoming future. There are many causes of animal endangerment some
reasons are, habitat loss that is mainly caused by natural disasters, the introduction of new species,
pollution, and overconsumption. Also, humans play a major role in animal s endangerment.
Habitat loss is one of the main reasons why animals get endanger or threaten; it is caused mainly by
phenomena such as floods, hurricanes, thunderstorms, earthquakes, and fire. During natural disasters,
a lot of animals get killed, lose their homes, which cause them to migrate to another environment,
which might not be suitable for them and affect their well being that leads to their death. For example,
the desert is not just an enormous empty piece of land; it is the shelter of many unique organisms such

their immune system isn t strong enough to fight it, or immune to it. They can fight with the native
species over food, which might cause a lack of an essential resource they require to stay alive. The
resource shortage can lead them to turn violent and prey on weak defenseless animals. Organisms that
are located on islands have a higher risk of getting affected and eliminated by the exotic creatures.

Loan Amount For Consumer Purpose Loans
For 2014, this particular institutions average loan amount for consumer purpose loans was $230,000.
The interest rate was 4.80 percent, average cost of funds spread was 2.32 percent, average cost of
funds spread of 2.32 percent, and fee average was approximately $1,000. In comparison, the non
consumer purpose loan average was $241,000. The interest rate was 4.73 percent, average cost of
funds spread of 2.90 percent, and fee average was approximately $1,000. So as you can see, the spread
on the agriculture portfolio was higher than home loans. In this particular case, they originated over
700 agriculture loans compared to 30 home loans in 2014. While the fees by dollar average out the
same, it costs them considerably more to process ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That being said, survey results indicate that a significant number of institutions have complied but also
expanded their consumer lending staff and hope to gain a larger market share. Here are a comments
gathered through the survey. (System Survey [12])
1. The association has developed a new rural home program including staff expert to focus on these
loans only. The association has recently designated a Compliance Officer and if anything he
anticipates expansion in the volume of consumer loans in the future.
2. We have spent a significant amount of time in training loan officers on compliance, and they have
hired a compliance employee at the association at this point.
3. We plan on increasing emphasis on consumer lending. Currently process all consumer loans
through its in house consumer loan processing department and will continue to do so going forward.
In addition, recently hired an additional consumer lending expert in anticipation of increasing
consumer lending portfolio.
4. The compliance officer reviews all consumer loans so this cost would be at least $5k depending on
the number of loans originated.
5. We have spent in excess of $500,000 in employee training in 2014 to ensure they can comply with
new/revised consumer regulations issued by the CFPB. We also have a full time compliance officer to
monitors any new/revised regulations and are planning on adding a compliance specialist to their ICR
staff.

African Indigenous Religions Essay
Introduction
African traditional religions were the first recorded religions to grace the plains and coasts of Southern
Africa and possibly even the world. The earliest group of people living in Southern Africa has been
named the San people. It was thought that San etchings and implements found in caves dated back to
between 10 000 and 20 000 years ago (Deacon, 1999). However in 2008 the oldest art to date was
found in a cave in Still Bay in Cape Town, called the Blombos cave. It was named by Christopher
Henshilwood and dates back to 77,000 years (Wits, 2014). This rock art is the earliest depiction of
religious experience and belief.
A later group of indigenous people that existed in Southern Africa were the Bantu Speaking Farmers .

The San are polytheistic. They believe in one supreme god, who lives in the Eastern sky and one
lesser god who lives in the western sky (UNISA, 2010:138). They believe that this supreme god had
instituted at world order, thus working the soil is seen to be contrary to that order. The most important
god is a trickster god called Kaggen who offers wisdom, plays tricks and plays tricks. He is believed
to come in many different guises, from an Eland (the most revered animal for the San), to a snake or a
bird, but he could also live as a San man. Traditionally a boy had to kill an Eland before he could be
considered a man.
The San had many phenomenological beliefs; they believed that their faith and offerings through song
and dance could affect the will of the gods. They often performed Trance dances to bring rain and
depicted these experiences by painting them on cave walls (Deacon, 1999).
Rock Art
This incredible art is found throughout Southern Africa in caves and rocky out crops which were
believed to hold power. The figures illustrate trance states, men in forward or backward bending
motions to show the discomfort that taking on supernatural powers brought . Who were the Bantu
speaking farmers and what did they believe?
Bantu Speaking farmers moved down toward Southern Africa bringing their herds of life stock and
settling most notably in KwaZulu Natal (UNISA, 2014). The two

The Case That Moved America
Working Title: The case that moved America Any child denied entry to any school due to their
ethnicity is automatically put at a disadvantage compared to other children. This case was originally
five different cases in different parts of the United States. These cases were all compounded into one
when appealed to the Supreme Court. Brown v. Board is the most historical revolutionary Civil Rights
case due to it forever changing the manner in which different races in America interact with each
other. Children segregated from other children because of their skin color not only causes them to be
more insecure, but it also causes a large knowledge gap between the segregated parties. Children who
are separated from others because of their skin color grow to develop their own insecurities and
diffidence. After reviewing psychological studies showing black girls in segregated schools had low
racial self esteem, the Court concluded that separating children on the basis of race creates dangerous
inferiority complexes that may adversely affect black children s ability to learn (PBS). Races being
divided by these social barriers create a disparity between them. It is unequal for children of different
races to be separated. Equal education is required in order to give all children an equal chance at
success and making differences. Public education in the 20th century, said the Court, had become an
essential component of a citizen s public life, forming the basis of democratic

The Mystery Of Life Is Not A Problem
The mystery of life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced. Kimberly. There are
many mysteries out in the world and many people do not know the outcome of ones journey, but
exploring and experiencing new things is something that one should not be afraid of. Amelia Earhart
was an out going person. She was the type of person who was always curious and enjoyed the rush of
an adventure. When she was younger she was a tomboy who did not really care about all of the girly
stuff. This expressed her personality because she liked doing things that most people found
impossible. Amelia was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in an airplane. Many people
would probably be scared to do that because of the unknown as Kimberly mention in her quote.
Earhart did everything with a passion as she shared her experiences and knowledge with others so that
they can also enjoy it. Amelia Earhart is admirable not only because she changed history, but because
she did everything with a passion, and she shared her experiences and knowledge with others so that
they could also enjoy them.
Amelia s childhood was full of adventure and traveling the world. Amelia Earhart was born July 24,
1897, she grew up in Atchison, Kansas. Earhart grew up with her sister Muriel, her father and mother,
and her grandparents. Amelia was born in her grandparent s house. (Netzley 12 ; Netzley 13). At the
age of 3, Amelia was sent to stay with her grandmother. (Fleming 7). Whenever

State of Good Faith in English Contract Law
The law of contract in many legal systems requires that parties should act in good faith. English law
refuses to impose such a general doctrine of good faith in the field of contract law. However, despite
not recognizing the principle, English contract law is still influenced by notions of good faith. As Lord
Bingham affirmed, the law has developed numerous piecemeal solutions in response to problems of
unfairness. This essay will seek to examine the current and future state of good faith in English
contract law. Good faith was described by Lord Bingham in Interfoto as playing fair, coming clean, or
putting one s cards face upwards on the table. It owes its origins to the law of equity and can be traced
back to the case of Carter v ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With a good faith requirement, it could be argued that a culture of trust and cooperation would emerge
which would compel a duty of disclosure. The doctrine of frustration is another piecemeal solution
that enables fairer performance of contracts. Frustration acknowledges that it is unjust to tie a party s
obligations entirely to the contract. Frustration is invoked to rectify certain unfair situations where
unforeseen contingencies have occurred. This doctrine provides for acts beyond the control of either
party, which renders performance impossible. As Lord Bingham stated, the doctrine of frustration was
to give effect to the demands of justice, to achieve a just and reasonable result, to do what was
reasonable and fair, as an expedient to escape from injustice where such would result from
enforcement of a contract in its literal terms after a significant change in circumstances. Lord Simon in
Panalpina stresses this point that frustration was developed as an expedient to escape from injustice .
However one main limitation of the doctrine is the requirement of foreseeability of the frustrating
event. Frustration is thus rarely used and will only be applied where a change to the foundation of the
contract has destroyed the basis of the contract. The problem with the doctrine of frustration as
piecemeal solution is that some events are inevitably impossible to predict. Therefore a good faith

Electronic Communication by President Abraham Lincoln
What became of our forces which held the bridge till twenty minutes ago...? The President of the
United States telegraphed a colonel in the field during the Civil War Battle of Second Manassas (Bull
Run) in 1862. Abraham Lincoln was using the new medium of electronic communications in an
unprecedented manner to revolutionize the nature of national leadership.
When Lincoln arrived for his inauguration in 1861 there was not even a telegraph line to the War
Department, much less the White House. Storm clouds were brewing, but when the US Army wanted
to send a telegram they did like everyone else: sending a clerk with a hand written message to stand in
line at Washington s central telegraph office. That unwieldy situation changed rapidly, however, as
wires were strung to the War Department and other key installations. The White House, however,
remained without any outside connection.
The national leaders were like their constituents in their understanding of electronic communications.
While an interesting and growing technology, the telegraph s potential was still widely
underappreciated and it certainly had never been tested in a time of crisis. This reality makes Lincoln s
subsequent embrace of the new technology even more remarkable. Without the guidance of precedent,
and in the middle of a battle for the nation s survival, Abraham Lincoln used the new electronic
communications to transform the nature of the presidency. The telegraph became a tool of his
leadership

For both bacterial infections, some researchers recommend that to eliminate persistent infections, it
should use a laboratory test after the first infection before estimating the number of repeat infections.
In contrast, other researchers consider that the infected patient should be asymptomatic for at least two
weeks before counting as a new infection. However, the majority of researchers set a number of days
after the initial infection to determine the burden of repeat infections (Hillis et al., 1994; Richey et al.,
1999; Barnett and Brundage, 2001; Burstein et al., 2001). The most common time frame for
consideration as a repeat infection for CT and NG is that diagnosed 30 days or more after the
preceding infection. This minimal time interval is based on the evidence that nucleic acid
amplification tests may occasionally detect residual chlamydia deoxyribonucleic acid or ribonucleic
acid to three weeks after antimicrobial therapy (Workowski et al., 1996; Gaydos et al., 1998; Morre et
al., 1998; Xu et al., 2000). For this study and data analysis, all service members with more than one

Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, immune mediated disease of the central nervous system
(CNS) (Definition of MS). This disease is estimated to affect more than 400,000 people in the United
States alone, and about 2.5 million worldwide. In the United States, about 200 new cases of MS are
discovered weekly (Pietrangelo, Anne and Higuera, Valencia) . In a healthy person, an insulation
covering called myelin, coats the nerve fibers in the CNS (Article from mom). When one develops
MS, the communication between their brain and other parts of his/her body is disrupted as an
abnormal immune mediated response attacks the myelin coating that encloses nerve fibers in the CNS.
This causes a disturbance in communication between the CNS and ... Show more content on

Deconstructing Tragedy And The Definition Of The...
Deconstructing Tragedy and the Definition of the Protagonist s Innocence In Sophocles Oedipus Rex,
Oedipus meets the Aristotelian definition of a tragic hero as divine fate and tragic flaws lead to his
downfall. Oedipus s tragic flaws like hubris, curiosity, and anger, contribute to his unfortunate fate.
The components of a perfect tragedy as defined in Aristotle s Poetics are at the center of Oedipus Rex.
The play contains the elements of a perfect tragedy such as imitation ... purification ... [and]
recognition (Poetics). Similarly, the movie Awakenings is a tragedy because it has elements of
imitation, recognition, and serious implications. The protagonist Leonard Lowe is not a tragic hero ...

Oedipus s anger highlights one of his tragic flaws. Oedipus first outburst of anger was when he killed
his father, reminiscing, I became angry and struck the coachman, and then I killed them all (Sophocles
880 8). Oedipus s anger continued throughout the play, especially when others inform him about his
fate. When Teiresias accuses Oedipus of killing his father, Oedipus lashes out, saying And who has
taught you truth? Not your profession surely! (Sophocles 388 389). This response is an attack on
Teiresias and the principle of prophecies, as Oedipus exclaims Teirsias s profession has not taught him
truth. Oedipus angrily placed blame on his closest friend for his doomful fate, Creon, blaming, No,
certainly; kill you, not banish you (Sophocles 687). Oedipus s impulsive and extravagant anger make
his angry characteristic all the more harmful. Oedipus s anger eventually turned on himself, as he
blinds himself in reaction to his foolishness and ignorance. Another aspect of Oedipus s tragic flaw is
his hubris. Initially it is clear Oedipus believes he is Thebe s last hope, stating I Oedipus whom all
men call the Great (Sophocles 6). Oedipus proves his hubris as he stands center stage during almost
the entire play. Creon tries to usher Oedipus off stage and tell him of the news, although Oedipus
replies Speak it to all: the grief I bear, I bear it more

Drug Problem In Brazil
Brazil, fifth largest country in the world, with a population of approximately 200 million people, also
has one of the largest disparities between the rich and poor. Profound poverty means family
disintegration due to death by AIDS, substance abuse, violence and breakup become more prevalent
leading to a growing problem. This problem is the number of children who begin to claim the streets
as their home. Life is hard on the streets, where none of the safeguards of the society are in place, and
these young people see little hope of change. As a result, drug and alcohol abuse becomes normalized
in the child street communities and children become at risk for a number of health problems. To
counteract this trend and rehabilitate children, local educational institutions need to be established to
create a safe zone for this children and program to address the risks of drug use and encourage healthy

Internal And External Environments Of Tesco
1.0 Executive Summary:
This report looks at the internal and external environments of Tesco, a British multinational grocery
retailer, through applying frameworks to assess strategic decisions taken by Tesco. The dynamic
external environment was examined using a PESTEL analysis which highlighted key industry drivers
for grocery retail being enforcement of new labelling and regulation laws influenced by social healthy
eating trends as well as increasing focus towards convenience stores instead of hypermarkets due to
consumers making larger purchases online. The Porter s 5 Forces analysis identified high customer
bargaining power due to high standardisation and low differentiation between products offered by
Tesco and competitors, creating low switching costs which led to high competitive rivalry.
Assessing resources and capabilities means utilizing Tesco s vast financial resources and employee
training leading to greater leverage of knowledge and skill throughout Tesco, creating more effective
synergies of economies of scale and scope providing a more efficient integrated supply chain as a
source of competitive advantage combined with its core competences. Strategic recommendations
included focusing on UK market which comprises most of Tesco s revenues and to conduct
disciplined growth , meaning reducing hypermarkets and increasing Tesco convenience stores to adapt
to the consumer shopping trend. 2.0 Introduction and company history:

Desire of the Fourteenth Century Women
Desire of the Fourteenth Century Women
Is not what we desire, the most hard to get? It has always been this way. Unfortunately, women s
rights and abilities have been underestimated over the centuries. In the fourteenth century, the status
and condition of a European woman depended on her husband s position. Women had to endure
arranged marriages, abuse and male dominance. During that time, Geoffrey Chaucer wrote The
Canterbury Tales and taught us about one extraordinary woman whose name is Dame Alisoun.
Alisoun is called The Wife of Bath, and she defines what women desired most in fourteenth century
England. She believes that women wish for power over their husbands, and I personally agree with her
opinion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As help me God, whan that I saw him go. After the beere, me thoughte he hadde a paire of legges and

men s weak sides and chooses her tactics depending on the situation. In her Prologue , the Wife of
Bath points out that there are no women writers and that only men write. Everything described in
Janekin s book is written from the men s point of view, and here Alisoun uses a painting as an
analogy: Who painted the leon, tel me who? By God, if wommen hadden writen stories, As clerkes
han wihin hir oratories, They wolde han writen of men more wikkednesse, Than al the merk of Adam
may redresse (line 695). If women got a chance to write, they would write good things about
themselves. The Wife of Bath explains that actually women are unable to present theirs ideas because
in the fourteenth century, women were not necessarily literate. Alisoun probably cannot read herself.
Only men can write about women, and Alisoun does not agree with what they say.
The Wife of Bath breaks the rule and norms for the fourteenth century woman. She mentions God
often, and she explains that true nobility comes from him: For gentilesse cometh fro God allone (line
1168). Here she mentions that class or social status does not matter, and that true nobility comes from
God. Even though Alisoun has an

6. Colourful Costumes
In the area of costume design, Cirque du Soleil has really raised the bar.
The traditional circus had costumes for each performer, but costumes and makeup were typically very
basic. On the other hand, Cirque du Soleil custom costumes are designed to contribute to the overall
theme of each individual show. Cirque du Soleil s costumes have fancy details, colorful decorations,
and even lights! For example, in the show Amaluna, 130 costumes were worn, made of 800 different
materials. And if that s not enough, in the show Varekai, 130 costumes were made over the course of
33,000 hours, and a team of 6 works 250 hours weekly to maintain those costumes.
In addition, Cirque du Soleil has very dramatic makeup for each performer and each segment of the
show. From my interview with a former Cirque du Soleil performer, Marin Debruyn, I learned that
Cirque du Soleil also makes molds of performer s faces to create 3D printed masks.

Polymer is a compound consisting of long chain molecules, each molecule made up of repeating unit

Malcolm X Learning To Read Summary
Many people know Malcolm X for his work in the civil rights movement, but few know about his time
in prison stay and how it was spent. After being released, X put his newly found knowledge from
prison with teachings of Islam to become the distinguished civil rights activists people know today. In
Learning to Read , X describes his journey of learning to read, understanding the truth about
Europeans, and realizing how powerful blacks could be if they knew their true history. X began his
self education because of the inability to express himself in letters to his mentor, Elijah Muhammad.
According to X, he began to envy prisoners who were knowledgeable, ... Bimbi first made me feel
envy of his stock of knowledge. (1). X began copying words from the dictionary into a tablet, until he
had learned all the words in it. Broadening his vocabulary allowed X to understand books in the prison
s library. In his view, the newly acquired knowledge opened a new world, ... I had never been so truly
free in my life. (2). The wide selection of books available to X enabled ... Show more content on

With further study, X realized the very unpleasant acts Europeans had done, saying it ... opened my
eyes gradually... how the whole world s white men had indeed acted like devils, pillaging and raping
and bleeding and draining the whole world s non white people. (4). X continued his research, finding
Europeans had wronged multiple populations of innocent people. Africans, Chinese, and Indians are
just a few groups that were punished and exploited throughout the centuries. X believed all groups
wronged by the white population would soon come together, forming an alliance saying, ...a new
world order being shaped, along color lines an alliance is among the non white nations. (5) Beside
studying the history of Europeans, he took a special interest in the history of

Article Summary
In July 2012, Coverity charged Forrester Consulting to direct an overview investigation of 240 North
American and European programming improvement and programming security influencers. The
reason for the study is to comprehend the current application security practices and distinguish key
patterns and business sector headings crosswise over commercial enterprises.
Web applications, due to their outside confronting nature, are a percentage of the essential parkways
for security assaults and information breaks. Breaks of client information are can be adverse to or

18% of those respondents experienced misfortunes of at any rate $500,000.
We likewise found that, regarding application security, most associations utilize strategic measures
and point innovations. Few endeavor to actualize an all encompassing, prescriptive application
security strategy. This is principally because of time to market weights, detaches in the middle of
designers and security experts, and the absence of compelling application security motivating forces.
Seventy percent of our review respondents don t gauge designers with security related measurements,
and 57% don t send security prerequisites downstream to guide quality and security testing.
Looking forward, as organizations ponder a more advanced and threatening risk scene, developing
arrangements of regulations and outsider prerequisites, and an extraordinary level of IT change, they
will have no real option except to enhance their application security stance. On the off chance that
designers don t incorporate security and protection into their advancement hones from the most
punctual stages, tending to it later won t just be more costly, yet could be totally ineffectual. For this
situation, organizations may find that a greater number of things than simply their applications are at
danger.
Key Findings
In synopsis, Forrester s study yielded these key discoveries:

In orchestra class, Zofia was getting ready to do the seating test of HER LIFETIME! Mr. Fischer said,
Zofia you are up! Zofia walks with confidence when she entered The Face Melting Room of Mr.

Innovation Assumptions
.Break Even Analysis and 12 Month Projection Strategic Management Body: Both the break even and
12 month projection spreadsheets were created using a combination of existing corporate data and a
number of reasonable adjustments and assumptions. There is presently no publically available
financial information regarding the innovation, so it is impossible to accurately know the product s
exact cost structure or even its expected sale price per unit. Therefore, the choice was made to make
reasonable assumptions using publically available corporate financial data as a starting point. The
primary source for that was data thus obtained from the company s 2013 10 K filing (Harley

A first year sales volume of 5,000 units is assumed. Restructuring Costs had a direct effect on net
income for the three previous fiscal years and according to the 10 K there will be additional impact
going forward (Harley Davidson, Inc. Form 10 K, page 26). These costs do not have a direct impact in
the new product s direct production costs nor do they impact a viability evaluation, therefore this line
item is excluded in both spreadsheets. Despite the certainty that the innovation would comprise a
small portion of sales at best, Advertising Expense is projected at a level consistent with historical
operations. There are a number of reasons for this. An electric motorcycle is a fairly new idea in the
motorcycle industry, other smaller companies with similar products are now competing more
anticipated market share and given the Company s advantages in scale and brand recognition it can
choose to comfortably allocate more resources to marketing and may take advantage of these facts, the
Company has already announced and initiated a nationwide marketing campaign where it is allowing
interested consumers to test a fleet of preproduction models, and has already stated its intention to
continue the program in Canada and Europe in 2015, and an electronic motorcycle by its nature will
not be attractive to 100% of existing motorcycle consumers given its obvious difference in

Indigenous Studies
Indigenous Studies Topic: The colonisation of Australia was based on the legal fiction of terra nullius.
Compare and contrast the consequences of terra nullius on the experience of Australian Indigenous
people, with indigenous peoples experiences of colonisation in Canada. Word count: 2,014 Making
cultural or political comparisons between Canada and Australia is not a new phenomenon. Both are
now independent former colonies of Great Britain, who have inherently adopted many of its laws,
identity and traditions. Geographically, the nations are both large, relatively isolated, with most of its
inhabitants residing in large cities, or along the coastline (Robinson, 1991; Jeans, 1977). Making

Although nomadic, American Indians were initially seen as quite technologically advanced (in
comparison to other indigenous people the British had encountered). Signs of civilisation by western
standards were evident. Some communities had established farms, fishing facilities and trading, while
many Indian tribes were also formidable military opponents. Ottawa Chief, Potiac, had successfully
demonstrated defiance of crown rule over their land by briefly seizing British military posts
(Chartrand, 2010). Throughout the colonising effort, British powers quickly established that Canada
was not terra nullius. By 1763, the Royal Proclamation declared King George III as the ultimate
dominion over North America, but title rights to land belonged to First Nation People. Only through
treaties between tribes and the crown, could land be sold or ceded. Furthermore, upon selling or
trading land, native title was also seen to have extinguished (Dickason, 1992; Robinson, 1991). The
Royal Proclamation is still in effect these days, with the Indian Act enforcing Indigenous lands to be
vested with the Crown. Consequently, this law has created a sense of distrust between Canadian
government and First Nation people, similar to the cynicism between many Australian Aboriginal
communities and their federal government. There is a general belief that North American lands are
still in jeopardy, as long as legal titles remain outside of Indigenous people s control. Despite the

Pro Life And Pro Choice Essay
Rawls and Nagel would support Hillary Clinton s stance on abortion in a secular society, regardless of
certain comprehensive doctrines, if we are to call the state just and rational. If we were to consider that
women were rational beings, as we should, then rationally the issue of abortion would not be a
dilemma. Since we live in a pluralistic society where all citizens comprehensive doctrines are free to
be heard, this issue of pro life and pro choice becomes a controversy. This creates tension within the
public sphere between religious citizens and the public sphere. This can be demonstrated between the
different ideology of four theologians. Michael Sandel and Thomas Nagel agree that banning abortion
is not correct but they clash in the way that they justify this issue. John Rawls is consistent with Nagel
s theory on the justification of abortion for women but not to the extent of Hillary Clinton s late
pregnancy abortion. Finally Ratzingers argues why rationality can not be the only source for the
justification of abortion shows why this causes tensions between the religious citizens and public
sphere.
Hillary Clinton is a secular pro choice advocate. For the most part Clinton stands faithfully by her
Methodist Church traditions. She previously believed that abortion was consistently wrong with the
exception that it would affect the mother but since then has changed her view. In 2016 s interview
with NBC s Meet the Press , Clinton clarifies her stance on abortion.

Internal Rivalry

Cork and Seal, Ball Corporation)
Heavily compete on basis of price
Companies offering volume discounts
Industry operating margins falling fell by 7% in 3 years to 4% in 1989. Industry profitability is

By 1989, due to production of cans by captive plants, 25% of all can output was produced by captive
plants. By 1980 brewers had capability to supply 55% of their can needs. It is easier for brewers to do
this because they make high volume single label products. While at the same time soft drink industry
could not easily do this because they focused on low volume multiple label products.
Supplier Power
Strong force
3 largest aluminium producers supplied metal can industry (Alcoa, Alcan, Reynolds Metal)Since
aluminum was invented in 58, steel has continuously declined due to economical reasons and
consumer preference. Due to the threat of steel, firms like Alcoa limited aluminum prices which kept
suppliers from holding much bargaining power.
So few big suppliers
Threat to forward integrate Reynolds Metal supplier of aluminium entering the mkt to can makers and
is also a threat.
These aluminum producers control huge aluminum resource so that the can manufacturer cannot put
threat of backward integration. In contract, the aluminum producers are able to put threats of forward
integration, just as Reynolds Metal integrated into aluminum cans.
Moves by both suppliers and customers of can makes to integrate into can manufacturing themselves
While it is inexpensive for companies to switch from aluminum to steel (because steel is actually

Veiling Essay
Does someone s dressing affect the way people treat them or look at them? In two article the authors
explain their main argument, that muslim covering does not hold any threat against other people and
that they should not be banned for many reasons that they explain throughout the text. The first article

that veiling is not oppressive, and that the practicing of covering a woman s hair and body s is their
choice and it is not oppressed by men in their culture it is also not something negative to look upon of.

To appeal to her intended audience she used Ethos because she uses personal experience to explain her
evidence, this gives a personal insight in her life and the audience can see how her experience has
helpt her protecting her of sexual pressure. As for logos she used it for explanation of cause and effect,
since she wears the veil she doesn t go through much sexual pressure as other women. This claim is
somewhat weaker than the other one because it doesn t use a lot of detailed evidence of how it protects
a woman, it explains two points in two different scenarios but none of them really explain any other
type of protection, towards sexual pressure. The author could have used other evidence, such as other
detailed explanations of how her hijab protected her in other places that she has been too.
The second claim Haydar makes is that many Muslim women in america are not forced to veil. The
evidence she uses to back up this claim is that her parents gave her the choice to wear the hijab or not
and in addition she uses the Koran to show that it s not forced upon in any way. The koran states : Let
there be no compulsion in religion (2:256) A second evidence she uses for this claim to explain that
wearing a hijab is a choice is that even though she moved away from parents to New York, she
continued to veil even though her parents weren t around and she also mentions that she will let her

Less Niche Marketing
According to Brown and Rusnak (2010), Coaching is about producing different and better results (p.
15). That makes it appropriate for individuals and entire organizations across all market sectors
(Brown Rusnak, 2010, p. 15). Furthermore, coaches assist clients into having a deeper understanding
of themselves or a particular concern (Brown Rusnak, 2010). Coaches help clients develop an action
plan and provide assistance in the process of moving forward with that plan (Brown Rusnak, 2010)
and that makes coaching more results oriented.
The major challenge the experienced coach faces is in targeting and linking to a source of consistent

Johannes Kepler s A Perfect World
Johannes Kepler was a modern individual and he believed that God would have created a perfect
world and in that world everything was geometrically perfect. In Banville s book about Kepler it says,
The search for knowledge everywhere encounters geometrical relations in nature, which God, in
creating the world, laid out (Banville 1981, p.145). As he pursued the answer to planetary motion, he
assumed that the planets orbited the sun in a perfect circle. He tried to seek order in his chaotic life
through science and rational thought. While pursuing his research on planetary orbit, he struggled to
keep his three worlds; rational, emotional, and social; in order. Kendura says that a novel provides
knowledge of life as lived by individuals (Kendura 1988). Kepler s life definitely represents the
hassles a normal person s life is like. In his rational world he could logically come up with a reason for
different phenomenas. He spends his life researching planetary orbit and astronomical tables. Dealing
with his rational world is somewhat easier than dealing with his emotional and social worlds because
the rational world is based on research, facts, and evidence. For Toulmin planetary orbit is just a
physical law of nature, which according to the Cartesian Dichotomy would fall under the body and not
the mind. Kepler also follows the dichotomy in many ways, so he would probably agree with Toulmin.
His emotional life is probably the messiest of his three worlds. In his emotional

There are many causes of animal endangerment some reasons are, habitat loss that is mainly caused by natural disasters, the introduction of new species, pollution, and overconsumption. • 4. African Indigenous Religions Essay Introduction African traditional religions were the first recorded religions to grace the plains and coasts of Southern Africa and possibly even the world. The earliest group of people living in Southern Africa has been named the San people. It was thought that San etchings and implements found in caves dated back to between 10 000 and 20 000 years ago (Deacon, 1999). However in 2008 the oldest art to date was found in a cave in Still Bay in Cape Town, called the Blombos cave. It was named by Christopher Henshilwood and dates back to 77,000 years (Wits, 2014). This rock art is the earliest depiction of religious experience and belief. A later group of indigenous people that existed in Southern Africa were the Bantu Speaking Farmers . ... They often performed Trance dances to bring rain and depicted these experiences by painting them on cave walls (Deacon, 1999). • 5. The Case That Moved America Working Title: The case that moved America Any child denied entry to any school due to their ethnicity is automatically put at a disadvantage compared to other children. This case was originally five different cases in different parts of the United States. These cases were all compounded into one when appealed to the Supreme Court. Brown v. Board is the most historical revolutionary Civil Rights case due to it forever changing the manner in which different races in America interact with each other. Children segregated from other children because of their skin color not only causes them to be more insecure, but it also causes a large knowledge gap between the segregated parties. Children who are separated from others because of their skin color grow to develop their own insecurities and diffidence. After reviewing psychological studies showing black girls in segregated schools had low racial self esteem, the Court concluded that separating children on the basis of race creates dangerous inferiority complexes that may adversely affect black children s ability to learn (PBS). Races being divided by these social barriers create a disparity between them. It is unequal for children of different races to be separated. Equal education is required in order to give all children an equal chance at success and making differences. Public education in the 20th century, said the Court, had become an essential component of a citizen s public life, forming the basis of democratic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many mysteries out in the world and many people do not know the outcome of ones journey, but exploring and experiencing new things is something that one should not be afraid of. Amelia Earhart was an out going person. She was the type of person who was always curious and enjoyed the rush of an adventure. When she was younger she was a tomboy who did not really care about all of the girly stuff. This expressed her personality because she liked doing things that most people found impossible. Amelia was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in an airplane. Many people would probably be scared to do that because of the unknown as Kimberly mention in her quote. Earhart did everything with a passion as she shared her experiences and knowledge with others so that they can also enjoy it. Amelia Earhart is admirable not only because she changed history, but because she did everything with a passion, and she shared her experiences and knowledge with others so that they could also enjoy them. Amelia s childhood was full of adventure and traveling the world. Amelia Earhart was born July 24, 1897, she grew up in Atchison, Kansas. Earhart grew up with her sister Muriel, her father and mother, and her grandparents. Amelia was born in her grandparent s house. (Netzley 12 ; Netzley 13). • 7. State of Good Faith in English Contract Law The law of contract in many legal systems requires that parties should act in good faith. English law refuses to impose such a general doctrine of good faith in the field of contract law. However, despite not recognizing the principle, English contract law is still influenced by notions of good faith. As Lord Bingham affirmed, the law has developed numerous piecemeal solutions in response to problems of unfairness. This essay will seek to examine the current and future state of good faith in English contract law. Good faith was described by Lord Bingham in Interfoto as playing fair, coming clean, or putting one s cards face upwards on the table. It owes its origins to the law of equity and can be traced back to the case of Carter v ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With a good faith requirement, it could be argued that a culture of trust and cooperation would emerge which would compel a duty of disclosure. The doctrine of frustration is another piecemeal solution that enables fairer performance of contracts. Frustration acknowledges that it is unjust to tie a party s obligations entirely to the contract. Frustration is invoked to rectify certain unfair situations where unforeseen contingencies have occurred. This doctrine provides for acts beyond the control of either party, which renders performance impossible. As Lord Bingham stated, the doctrine of frustration was to give effect to the demands of justice, to achieve a just and reasonable result, to do what was reasonable and fair, as an expedient to escape from injustice where such would result from enforcement of a contract in its literal terms after a significant change in circumstances. Lord Simon in Panalpina stresses this point that frustration was developed as an expedient to escape from injustice . However one main limitation of the doctrine is the requirement of foreseeability of the frustrating event. Frustration is thus rarely used and will only be applied where a change to the foundation of the contract has destroyed the basis of the contract. The problem with the doctrine of frustration as piecemeal solution is that some events are inevitably impossible to predict. Therefore a good faith ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Electronic Communication by President Abraham Lincoln What became of our forces which held the bridge till twenty minutes ago...? The President of the United States telegraphed a colonel in the field during the Civil War Battle of Second Manassas (Bull Run) in 1862. Abraham Lincoln was using the new medium of electronic communications in an unprecedented manner to revolutionize the nature of national leadership. When Lincoln arrived for his inauguration in 1861 there was not even a telegraph line to the War Department, much less the White House. Storm clouds were brewing, but when the US Army wanted to send a telegram they did like everyone else: sending a clerk with a hand written message to stand in line at Washington s central telegraph office. That unwieldy situation changed rapidly, however, as wires were strung to the War Department and other key installations. The White House, however, remained without any outside connection. The national leaders were like their constituents in their understanding of electronic communications. While an interesting and growing technology, the telegraph s potential was still widely underappreciated and it certainly had never been tested in a time of crisis. This reality makes Lincoln s subsequent embrace of the new technology even more remarkable. Without the guidance of precedent, and in the middle of a battle for the nation s survival, Abraham Lincoln used the new electronic communications to transform the nature of the presidency. For both bacterial infections, some researchers recommend that to eliminate persistent infections, it should use a laboratory test after the first infection before estimating the number of repeat infections. In contrast, other researchers consider that the infected patient should be asymptomatic for at least two weeks before counting as a new infection. However, the majority of researchers set a number of days after the initial infection to determine the burden of repeat infections (Hillis et al., 1994; Richey et al., 1999; Barnett and Brundage, 2001; Burstein et al., 2001). The most common time frame for consideration as a repeat infection for CT and NG is that diagnosed 30 days or more after the preceding infection. This minimal time interval is based on the evidence that nucleic acid amplification tests may occasionally detect residual chlamydia deoxyribonucleic acid or ribonucleic acid to three weeks after antimicrobial therapy (Workowski et al., 1996; Gaydos et al., 1998; Morre et al., 1998; Xu et al., 2000). Oedipus first outburst of anger was when he killed his father, reminiscing, I became angry and struck the coachman, and then I killed them all (Sophocles 880 8). Oedipus s anger continued throughout the play, especially when others inform him about his fate. When Teiresias accuses Oedipus of killing his father, Oedipus lashes out, saying And who has taught you truth? Not your profession surely! (Sophocles 388 389). This response is an attack on Teiresias and the principle of prophecies, as Oedipus exclaims Teirsias s profession has not taught him truth. Oedipus angrily placed blame on his closest friend for his doomful fate, Creon, blaming, No, certainly; kill you, not banish you (Sophocles 687). Oedipus s impulsive and extravagant anger make his angry characteristic all the more harmful. Oedipus s anger eventually turned on himself, as he blinds himself in reaction to his foolishness and ignorance. Another aspect of Oedipus s tragic flaw is his hubris. Initially it is clear Oedipus believes he is Thebe s last hope, stating I Oedipus whom all men call the Great (Sophocles 6). Profound poverty means family disintegration due to death by AIDS, substance abuse, violence and breakup become more prevalent leading to a growing problem. This problem is the number of children who begin to claim the streets as their home. Internal And External Environments Of Tesco 1.0 Executive Summary: This report looks at the internal and external environments of Tesco, a British multinational grocery retailer, through applying frameworks to assess strategic decisions taken by Tesco. The dynamic external environment was examined using a PESTEL analysis which highlighted key industry drivers for grocery retail being enforcement of new labelling and regulation laws influenced by social healthy eating trends as well as increasing focus towards convenience stores instead of hypermarkets due to consumers making larger purchases online. The Porter s 5 Forces analysis identified high customer bargaining power due to high standardisation and low differentiation between products offered by Tesco and competitors, creating low switching costs which led to high competitive rivalry. Assessing resources and capabilities means utilizing Tesco s vast financial resources and employee training leading to greater leverage of knowledge and skill throughout Tesco, creating more effective synergies of economies of scale and scope providing a more efficient integrated supply chain as a source of competitive advantage combined with its core competences. Unfortunately, women s rights and abilities have been underestimated over the centuries. In the fourteenth century, the status and condition of a European woman depended on her husband s position. Women had to endure arranged marriages, abuse and male dominance. During that time, Geoffrey Chaucer wrote The Canterbury Tales and taught us about one extraordinary woman whose name is Dame Alisoun. Alisoun is called The Wife of Bath, and she defines what women desired most in fourteenth century England. Everything described in Janekin s book is written from the men s point of view, and here Alisoun uses a painting as an analogy: Who painted the leon, tel me who? Signs of civilisation by western standards were evident. Some communities had established farms, fishing facilities and trading, while many Indian tribes were also formidable military opponents. Ottawa Chief, Potiac, had successfully demonstrated defiance of crown rule over their land by briefly seizing British military posts (Chartrand, 2010). Throughout the colonising effort, British powers quickly established that Canada was not terra nullius. By 1763, the Royal Proclamation declared King George III as the ultimate dominion over North America, but title rights to land belonged to First Nation People. Only through treaties between tribes and the crown, could land be sold or ceded. Furthermore, upon selling or trading land, native title was also seen to have extinguished (Dickason, 1992; Robinson, 1991). The Royal Proclamation is still in effect these days, with the Indian Act enforcing Indigenous lands to be vested with the Crown. Consequently, this law has created a sense of distrust between Canadian government and First Nation people, similar to the cynicism between many Australian Aboriginal communities and their federal government. Pro Life And Pro Choice Essay Rawls and Nagel would support Hillary Clinton s stance on abortion in a secular society, regardless of certain comprehensive doctrines, if we are to call the state just and rational. If we were to consider that women were rational beings, as we should, then rationally the issue of abortion would not be a dilemma. Since we live in a pluralistic society where all citizens comprehensive doctrines are free to be heard, this issue of pro life and pro choice becomes a controversy. This creates tension within the public sphere between religious citizens and the public sphere. This can be demonstrated between the different ideology of four theologians. Michael Sandel and Thomas Nagel agree that banning abortion is not correct but they clash in the way that they justify this issue. John Rawls is consistent with Nagel s theory on the justification of abortion for women but not to the extent of Hillary Clinton s late pregnancy abortion. Finally Ratzingers argues why rationality can not be the only source for the justification of abortion shows why this causes tensions between the religious citizens and public sphere. In Banville s book about Kepler it says, The search for knowledge everywhere encounters geometrical relations in nature, which God, in creating the world, laid out (Banville 1981, p.145). As he pursued the answer to planetary motion, he assumed that the planets orbited the sun in a perfect circle. He tried to seek order in his chaotic life through science and rational thought. While pursuing his research on planetary orbit, he struggled to keep his three worlds; rational, emotional, and social; in order. Kendura says that a novel provides knowledge of life as lived by individuals (Kendura 1988). Kepler s life definitely represents the hassles a normal person s life is like. In his rational world he could logically come up with a reason for different phenomenas. He spends his life researching planetary orbit and astronomical tables. Dealing with his rational world is somewhat easier than dealing with his emotional and social worlds because the rational world is based on research, facts, and evidence. For Toulmin planetary orbit is just a physical law of nature, which according to the Cartesian Dichotomy would fall under the body and not the mind. Kepler also follows the dichotomy in many ways, so he would probably agree with Toulmin. His emotional life is probably the messiest of his three worlds. In his emotional ...
