11. Podcasting: RSS
• RSS formats are written using XML
• RSS is a web format used to publish
frequently updated works (blogs, news,
podcasts) It’s called a "feed" or "channel.”
• RSS feeds benefit creators by letting them
send out content automatically
(“syndication”). Readers benefit by being
able to subscribe to updates.
• RSS feeds can be read using software called
an "RSS reader" or "feed reader" and Safari.
