2. Why do we take the SAT?
The SAT is the most publicized
test in America.
It’s the most commonly used
test by colleges and
universities in the Southeast
and on the West Coast.
Money! ( $4,000 + )
It is a big determiner in where
you can go to school.

3. Why do we take the SAT?
Many college admission officers use
SAT scores to help them access a
student’s academic preparedness
for college. However, the most
important factor in the admissions
process is your child’s high school
transcript. Both grades and the
rigor of courses are considered. SAT
scores are intended to supplement
your child’s record along with other
information such as extracurricular
activities and letters of
recommendations.

4. Why do we take the SAT?
Colleges want to see a complete
picture of you. They pay attention
to your life inside the classroom as
well as outside of the classroom.
Your extracurricular activities reveal
a great deal about you, such as
your interests, whether you can
manage your priorities and
maintain a long-term commitment,
what diversity you’d bring to the
student body, and how you’ve
made a contribution to society.

5. When do we offer the SAT?
The SAT is offered seven times a
year. You can take the SAT at
Lancaster High School in October,
November, March, and May. If you
would like to take the test in
December, January, or June you will
have to travel to another school
where the SAT is being offered.
Cost $47.00

Notas do Editor
All high school students who take the PSAT/NMSQT receive free MyRoad accounts as part of their My College Quickstart online college planning package. These students are able to utilize My College QuickStart and MyRoad until they graduate high school. Educators do not get access to My College QuickStart but do receive a MyRoad educator access code for staff to create MyRoad accounts. MyRoad educator accounts related to the PSAT/NMSQT do not expire. All students who participate in CollegeEd courses for grades 7 to 12 also receive free MyRoad accounts. These accounts will last up to the end of the school year. This offer also applies to the CollegeEd High School edition school planners that are provided by Premier Agendas. Only those students who are 13 and older may create MyRoad accounts. Students may also purchase individual MyRoad memberships. These memberships cost $19.95 for the first year and $16.95 for every following year that they renew. Individual memberships last for one year.
The process for setting up a My College QuickStart account is similar to the process for establishing a normal CollegeBoard.com account. In fact, once a student has a Quickstart account, his or her account will also serve as a CollegeBoard.com account. If the student already has an account with CollegeBoard.com, then he or she would enter his or her username and password on this screen and click on “Sign In”. If the student does NOT already have a CollegeBoard.com account, then he or she would click on “Sign Up” under “Not a Member Yet?”.
Once a student has entered his or her personal information, he or she has created a CollegeBoard.com account. The student still needs to establish a My College Quickstart account, though, and the next screen to which he or she will come will do just that. The student will enter his or her access code (on the PSAT/NMSQT Score Report) into the appropriate field requesting that information and then clicks on “Submit”.
