LESSON TITLE: The Iraq-Kuwait War TIME ALLOTTED: 2 lessons (2hrs)
Hand in Hand:
LESSON DESCRIPTION: (Write a concise description of what occurs in this lesson.)
1. Lecture on the Iraq-Kuwait War through power point slides.
2. Students complete a mind map on the war.
3. In groups of 5, create a video clip on different aspects of the war. This is done as part of the homework to
reinforce learning.
4. Each group will be graded on their clip based on a set of rubrics.
CLASSROOM LAYOUT AND GROUPING OF STUDENTS:

Students will complete the mind map individually.
Group discussion for the creation of the video clip will be done outside curriculum time as part of their assignment.

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES:
1. Motivation:
Explain the importance of the lesson to motivate the student. Relate lesson to previous lesson or real-life
situation.
Most of the times, students are asked to produce an essay in order to assess their learning. By getting
students to produce a video clip, it generate interest as it is something different and that they also enjoy
doing it. In order to produce the clip, they need to learn the content well and present it in a clear and
succinct manner. This assignment also allows them to use their creativity to create a clip that will arouse and
sustain the audience interest. By watching the different clips produced by their classmates, it reinforces their
learning in a fun and interesting manner.
2. Activities: (The sequential activities to happen in this lesson. It describes the teaching method to employ in
learning the lesson.)
1. Content delivery through power point slides.
2. Content gathering in the form of a mindmap.
