In this cover letter I have
explained all the resources that I
have uploaded in my Storytelling
Symbaloo.
My Symbaloo
My Symbaloo
I have organized my Symbaloo in six
columns.
In each column you can find information
and resources about different topics.
I have also used different colors to
distinguish the tiles.
I am going to present all the tiles in this
cover letter beginning with the column
that you can see in the left side of my
Storytelling Symbaloo

In the first column you can see this
document, the Cover letter.
This document is a guide to explore
my Symbaloo. In it are explained
all the resources that you can find
in my Symbaloo tiles.

Second Column
In the second column you can see webpages
and articles about Storytelling:
 The danger of a single story ( Conference)
Novelist Chimamanda Adichie tells the story of how she
found her authentic cultural voice and warns that if we hear
only a single story about another person or country, we risk
a critical misunderstanding
 How to Tell a Story (Article)
In this “Wikihow” article you can find seven steps to
success while telling a story.
Second Column
 Encouraging Young Learners to Learn English through
Stories (Article)
This article written by Cagri Tugrul Mart states that by teaching
English though stories in the early ages teachers can stimulate
students to improve their awareness of the rich use of English
 Promoting reflection and creativity though digital
storytelling ( ELT Unit)
In this ELT Unit created by Olive Cheung you can have some
information about how stories can make students be creative
and thoughtful
 Integrating the old and the new: Digital Storytelling in
the EFL Language Classroom ( Article)
In her article Carmen Gregori argues about how Digital
Storytelling engages students both in traditional and
innovational ways of telling a story.

In this article Heidi Bordine Fitzgibbon and Kim Hughes
Wilhelm explore the literature written on Storytelling in
pedagogy,specially as it relates to second language
adquisition.

Why I have decided to include readings and
videos in my Symbaloo?
I think that an important aspect of teaching is the
theory that we can find behind it.
Is important to learn how to tell stories and also be
awarded of the benefits and dangers that this
methodology has.
In the articles that I have included you can find some
interesting points of view about teaching English
through stories. Having this information in my
Symbaloo I have the opportunity to expand my
knowledge about how to teach EFL though stories in
primary classes.

In this column I have saved some webpages
where you can find online stories for children.
Those pages are:
 Magic keys: You can find books from young
children to young adults
 KOL Jr: You can find stories about animals,
rhyming, fairy tales…
 Storyline Online: You can find some children
books read aloud.
 Story time for me: You can find some free
books online
 Interactive Stories for kids: You can find
some online talking stories

Why I have decided to include online
books in my Symbaloo?
During this degree I have had the opportunity
to visit three primary schools. All those schools
were different but, in all of them I could realize
that teachers were busy.
Having online books in the Symbaloo allows
you to save time and find resources more
quickly and effectively.

Fourth column
In the fourth column you can see some resources to
create and share Digital Stories.
 Smories: In this webpage you can find original
stories for children read by children. You can also
upload your own student’s stories.
 Little bird tales: You can capture your child's voice
and build a story.
 Storyjumper: You can create your own digital
stories.
 My Story Maker: Another resource to create Digital
stories.
 Story bird: You can create, read and share stories
online.
Fourth column
Why I have decided to include resources to
create and share digital stories in my
Symbaloo?
Today new technologies are present in every
classroom. Because of this a teacher can not only
teach their subject, but he/she has to make their
students digitally competent. Using ICT tools in
English classes we can help our students to build
knowledge in a thorough manner.
Fifth column
Fifth column
In the fifth column I included all the tasks we have
done in the course:
Snowman: This tile you can see an activity designed
to be taught after reading the story.
The war of numbers: in this task we were asked to
find a children's story and create a related activity. In
this tile can see the book and also an activity created
to after reading the story.
Microteaching presentation: I decided to include in
this tile the prezi presentation that my group did in the
microteaching.
Final project: Finally in this tile can see the teaching
unit created from the book Move over Rover!
Fifth column
Why I have decided to include the tasks done
during the course in my Symbaloo?
I think it's very important to do tasks that complement
the development of knowledge in an area.
In this case I could deepen my knowledge in designing
Storytelling activities related to a story.
I could realize how difficult is to find a proper story
and extract the contents of language to teach.
I also think that learning by doing is an appropriate
methodology because you can and expand your
knowledge and solve your own mistakes

In this document you can see how the
development of my PLE has been.
You can also read my point of view of using
Symbaloo as a teaching tool.
