This client has WI servers in both NY and the UK, and the Web Interface can physically move the client from one set of servers to the other, based upon the Home Office selected.
This client has users with BOTH types of SecurID – hardware token and Blackberry SoftToken. Web Interface has been customized to accept either type – it will reject an attempt to enter into both versions.
Prior to login, the Message Center displays the user ’s IP address, ICA client version, and the web server in use (for load-balanced environments). Subsequent to login, personalized Active Directory information such as full name and AD group memberships are displayed.
Besides the intuitive interface for entering a user ’s Blackberry SoftToken, this screen contains a load of information. Clicking on the Information icon on the Welcome bar …
… brings up connection, browser and OS information for Help Desk support.
The Welcome section is also Help Desk aware (based on day of week / time of day). When the Help Desk is not available, an appropriate message is displayed.
If an error occurs, 2 things happen to make the condition more apparent to the user: The Message Center is moved ABOVE the Welcome section to make it more prominent, and The background color of the Message Center is changed to draw the user ’s eye.
In addition to the famous IPM PIN/Tokencode split, the watermarked background image changes to the appropriate corporate office, based on the user ’s IP address (for internal users).
While there would be nothing extraordinary about this screen if it was a Web Interface login screen, it is, in fact, an example of a highly customized Advanced Access Control (AAC) screen, which is quite a bit more difficult to manipulate.
