Strengthening Public Services through Citizen Journalism
GOAL
Enhance the quality of marginal peoples’ living
standard by improving the public services quality.

4. OBJECTIVES
To mobilize local citizen to create awareness
on various charters of public services;
To make an effective network between
service providers and service recipients;
To raise citizens’ voice on their rights and give
feedback through citizens’ reporting;
To turn on the NK web portal to attain policy
makers’ attention

Continuation of interactive citizens’ web platform
Formulation of civil society platform and youth
volunteer groups
Awareness campaign on citizens’ rights, charter and
laws (e.g. Constitution, Right to Information Act, BHRC)
Raise awareness, motivate and build capacity of civil
society to act as social activists and volunteers as
citizens’ journalists
Partnership with other likeminded right based and
community based organizations

Sensitization workshops with TV, Radio and newspaper
Dialogue sessions with the local government
representatives, civil society and service providing
agencies
Awareness campaign on usage and benefits of citizens’

Developed project module for conceptual clarification
Globally launched Nagorikkontho web portal for mass
people
More than One Hundred and fifty volunteers are working

Awareness are increasing day by day to get civil right if
dispossess.
Technological skill of the youth generation are increasing
simultaneously.

Social responsibilities have been accelerated towards the
mass people.
Conscious people of the project area are organizing to work
together for ensuring the better quality of the Govt. services
The relationship among mass people and the Govt. service
provider are consolidating properly.
The concept of citizen journalism are in the mind of the
volunteers
