4. Comparisons:
* Female artist as the cover model
* Cover model is looking directly at the reader to engage eye
contact- helps to persuade you to buy it
* Similar clothing- the white shirt/blouse
* Both cover models have their hair down
* They both have a plain, neutral, stern look on their faces,
which is very natural
7. Comparisons:
* Both are playing a guitar and singing into a microphone on
stage
* The background is dark and black, the lights shine directly
on the artist on stage
* The angle of that the image was taken from, camera low,
looking up at the artist
* They both show/portray passion and a real happiness for
what they’re doing
10. Comparisons:
* Both images appear in landscape orientation, which means
that the guitar is in full view
* Females playing guitar
* They are both actually playing the guitar and not just posing
with it, this shows they can really play instruments and are
not just there to model
* Difference: the image of singer, Colbie, was taken in
America in the sun, and the image of Megan had to represent
somewhere in Portsmouth (where the image was taken- in an
open hot wall)
13. Comparisons:
* Shows a full torso shot of the artists
* Actually has something interesting in the background rather
than the usual plain colour background, to appeal to the
reader- to give the image context
* Looking out at the reader to convey emotions
14. Why research into images?
I have chosen to complete some research
into images either already being used in
magazines or images that I have got
inspiration from. By doing this it helped
me to produce my own images, by getting
ideas it meant I could try to recreate the
image so that it would fit with the genre
of music. Comparing the images of the
real, professional photos to my photos it
meant that I had made them look
authentic enough to be compared the
same.
