The Industry of Tomorrow
Our Industry Overview :
Animation is not just reeling cartoons on screen but a way of life. This is evident even
in the drawing depiction of life in the Paleolithic caves. Animation is actually as old
as we are. Animation changed forms as we changed our form, it developed as we
progressed. It is now as futuristic as we are. The journey started right from the time
of Mickey Mouse to Tom & Jerry, Finding Nemo to Shrek series, Jurassic Park series
to Avatar … and believe us it is still the start. Animation has already spread its forms
into varieties of infotainment segments, which may be classified in four major heads:
Films, Television, Gaming, and Multimedia.
Business Overview: Global
In Digital entertainment industry since last 30-40 years, the usage and complexity of animation and Visual-Fx has increased
incredibly. Remember how thrilling the first Star Wars movie seemed? Now, when you go back and see it again, it seems
unbearably primitive. Today an average action film has over 1000 VFx shots.
About an year ago released Avatar(movie) had every shot finished with some Visual effects in it as compared to the first Jurassic
Park movie with just 75 VFx shots. A decade ago the Lord of the Ring which had over 500 VFx shots, 2nd part had over 1000 VFx
shots and third part crossed further.
Animation project outsourcing in the global animation industry is valued at a staggering US$ 68.4 billion.
The continued demand in the global animation market has allowed the Asia-Pacific region to further emerge as a premier
destination for animation outsourcing. The major players in the region include China, India, Singapore, South Korea and
the Philippines.
Business Overview: India
In the recent past Indian animation companies and animation studios have been moving up the value chain to create their own
intellectual property rights with Hanuman, Hanuman Returns, Roadside Romeo (a Walt Disney collaboration) etc. and partnering
with international studios to produce animated properties for the global audience. Along with growing inflow of outsourced
work, animation and VFX industry in India is facing demands from the domestic entertainment industry with animated TV
commercials, series, short films, and movies.
In short, this industry is growing in potential and size phenomenally.
India is destined to emerge as animation industry hub with the kind of creative and business talent it has. AAG will help you gear
up for this tomorrow!
Our Industry Overview :
