IMPACT ON COMMUNITY HEALTH
Since the inception of the Sun N Sand Community Health
Clinic 6 years ago in 2001, over 40,000 Consultations have
been recorded, Malaria being the No.1 condition for patients
seeking medical attention .This is due to lack of awareness
and prevention methods e.g. use of mosquito nets, clearing
bushes and stagnant water around their compounds .
♦ HEALTH AND HYGIENE
The 2 Health Officers counsel the patients on basic
health issues including hygiene, the importance of
vaccination, family planning, HIV/AIDS and other health
issues . Health Camps are organized to address specific needs e.g. ENT, Tuberculosis, Measles, Polio,
Dental Care etc.
♦ MOTHER AND CHILD CARE
Mothers and their Children are counseled and treated by the Clinical Officers through Pre-natal
and Ante-natal Care Clinics. Before the inception of the clinic some mothers & children used to travel
far in search of these facilities , while others didn't make it. The general health of the Community has
improved due to the presence of the Sun N Sand Health Center.
