Hamza Shafi (evaluation) ,[object Object]
[object Object],Both images dominate the cover The sell lines are partly slanted on an angle Sell lines are set to the sides considering the rule of thirds. Both characters shows some sort of attitude with gestures on the face on using hands. Both covers have the star’s names on the cover but In different places. Rules of thirds taken into consideration as images show their domination
[object Object],As my research showed me what people would like in a Hip Hop magazine here are different ranges or choices in colour, which have the purpose to attract a specific age group and gender. Bold and bight colours used to attract the right audience, colour scheme setting the mood of the magazine. I have used an ethnic minority kind of character to challenge stereotypes.
[object Object],Magazine masthead have similar positioning. Text layout of the Dominating images focusing on the message being given out by the picture Layout of the text is categorised and organised. The layout of the content numbering and pages are on the side and the general text is at the bottom. Both pages have extra information other than relevance of the page itself.
[object Object],The choice of contents within the page, this adds a mixed range to give an idea of how this magazine approaches its target audience I have used more than one image using levels and adjustments to create a modern effect which highlights the importance of this whole page. I have added in more information on a specific person to address the gossip in the magazine to my audience appropriately.
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object]
How does your media product represent particular social groups? ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],Therefore, I have chose to continue this particular social group and genre whilst it expands into cultures and different ethnicities. This shows that my magazine is able to continue represent the genre and social group I have included into my produce. From the feedback in the questionnaires I got back, my feedback told me that this social group and this type of genre in my magazine was a popular demand. ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object]
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object]
Who would the audience be for your media product? ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],COVER CONTENTS CONTENTS DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD Using group photos, showing positive unity within my chosen genre. Photos show great sense of attitude and confidence in this genre as it is a main type in my target audience age range. Some pictures show seriousness and imply the message of the seriousness within this genre Simplicity of backgrounds implies the simple idea of Hip Hop being a popular type.
How did you attract/address your audience? A reasonable price Free tickets to be given away Image dominating the page, close up emphasises a relation with the target audience Large and bold masthead outlines its own importance as that is the title of the magazine. The outstanding view of this masthead also shows how much effort this magazine puts in in order to communicate with its readers. Images shows of how the character’s dress code is according to today’s Hip Hop music genre. This appropriate dress wear shows people how dress code is part of this genre. The main colour scheme is red and black. This emphasises the vibrant and consistency of attraction to a specific target audience. Red and black are the majority of colours. This has a purpose of emphasising which genre this magazine is aimed at. The bonus pages create a closer relation between the audience and - M u sic E x p r e s s The magazine having a bundle of bonus pages within the magazine is and extra way of appreciating audiences and other people. The attitude of the star in the image is similar to normal Hip Hop magazines. This realism will attract people and make people feel familiar and close to this magazine. The barcode also adds to the idea of realism because every normal magazine would have a barcode if it has a price, as well as the issue date and issue number to keep all the audiences updated and for them to make sure that they are not reading or viewing anything old or anything of the past but, to read the new magazine and get involved in the gossip and all the fun inside. The return of a star includes exclusive gossip. Audiences love gossip because it is a main key thing a magazine will contain. Many people will buy or get a magazine wanting to know the latest updated news or any information regarding their stars. My magazine shows the correct people that it is aimed at them! Celebrity gossip

These were rates as very good by one person. Two others said they all are to be rated at the level good. One out of the four people chose to categorise these as O.K. so 50% of my feedback for the cover was given as good. 25% ok. 25% Very good. The weakness they listed lack of variety within the text choices.
The four people were also asked to rate my magazine overall. The options given were Excellent, Very good, Good, Satisfactory and Poor. ,[object Object]

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? (cover) Preliminary cover Coursework final cover Looking back at the preliminary task, I feel during the progression of it to the full product, I have learnt how to manipulate images so that they outline their own importance by dominating the page. As you can see, there is a difference in my preliminary cover and my final produce. They both have the difference of how the image is dominating the page. There is also a bit of a play around with the sell lines. For example on my full product I had learnt how to use drop shadow effects onto the sell lines or any other pieces of text like my masthead. The drop shadow effect helps the text contrast with anything else that is also noticeable for a good purpose. I also learnt that the image of the character has to have some sort of attitude for my genre, as my chosen genre was hip-hop this is why my final produce character shows the readers a bit of attitude to show realism when in comparison with real magazines. Changing the levels of pictures and the sizes or the way they are put in is another thing I have learnt. I have learnt that this is important because it has its own importance of playing the main key part of the magazine. COVER
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? ( contents) ,[object Object],[object Object],Looking back at the preliminary task, I feel during the progression of it to the full product, I have learnt how to make banners or the tittles of content pages outstanding. I learnt that to do this I need to chose specific font types, sizes and styles. I have also learnt how to place images in correct places in order to shape a perfect contents page according to the chosen genre I have picked up on. This also includes the key feature of realism as magazines with the same genre as me would have a similar kind of layout. I have also learnt that on this kind of contents page there should a similar if not the same kind of font choice because by doing this it shows the formality of the magazine. CONTENTS
