7. OUR JOB The mission of the MCHS Library is to ensure that students and staff know how to find, assess, interpret, and synthesize information. This mission is accomplished by providing access to information in all formats, working with faculty and other educators, and designing learning strategies to meet the needs of students. The library prepares students for a successful post-secondary experience and for life-long learning.

19. Big ideas are statements. At certain times in history, events come together that transform the future.
20. Essential questions often begin with why, what, who, or when. Why are symbols important for national identity?
21. What symbols were used during the French Revolution? How were the symbols created? Why were the symbols influential? Inquiry questions break down the essential question.
32. While the French used symbols from the ancient past to represent freedom and liberty, they felt they were creating a bridge to the future by using these symbols in a new way.
