2. Description
Route 66 is a disused highway that
crosses the continent of America. Over
the years there have been songs
written about it and movies, e.g. Cars
the movie, is based on Route 66.
Route 66 is also known as the Will
Rogers Highway and sometimes known
as the Main Street of America.

4. Facts
 It is now used as a tourist route.
 Route 66 was opened on November 11th
1926.
 It starts at Chicago and goes all the way
to Los Angeles in California.
 Route 66 goes for 3,945km.
 It was officially removed from the United
States Highway System on June 27, 1985,
because they built a new multi lane
freeway.
