2. Life after death ! The motto for the Christian Aid organisation is 'Life before death'. There could be many mottos for the Christian faith and they would include the fact that Christians believe in life after death. The foundation of this is the belief that Jesus himself did not stay dead, but was raised to life after three days in the tomb. "He isn't here! He has been raised from the dead, just as he said would happen." It is not surprising that people have always asked questions about what, if anything, happens after they die. Although some people claim to have had ‘near-death experiences’ (NDEs), and others claim to be able to talk to the dead, or to have seen ghosts, there is no scientific proof that such experiences actually provide a glimpse into a possible afterlife. It is possible, therefore, that when people die, they simply stop living and that there is nothing beyond this life. Ideas about what happens after death, and its connection with how life is lived on earth, is a fundamental part of all religions. The details may differ between religions, but belief in an afterlife almost always: helps people to make sense of life, particularly when life seems unfair or at times of suffering (their own, and other people’s) gives support and comfort at times of loss and bereavement provides a purpose to life

4. Afterlife. Definition: life after death. (afterlife) Life after death – Many religions believe different things, such as, Christians believe that if your good you go live a life in heaven and if you live a bad life you go to hell. There is no proof of after life but Christians believe of a place called heaven and hell. Depending on how you lived your life, when you die you either go to heaven (if you have lead a good and religious life) or hell (if you have lead a unholy and bad life) heaven is supposed to a happy and rewarding place and hell is supposed to be a bad place were you have to try and un do all the bad things you have done in life. supposing in hell there is fire and the ‘ devil ‘ and in heaven there's ‘angels’. Purgatory is the condition or process of purification or temporary punishment in which the souls of those who die in a state of grace are made ready for heaven. Purgatory is when a soul is about to go into heaven but has bad sins which need to be forgiven therefore they go to purgatory until they are ready to live a life in heaven. If a sin is not forgiven then Catholics believe that they would spend the rest of there after life in hell.
