Editor's Notes
Left Menu: This will appear throughout the recipe module. The hyperlinks are filters to help the user target what they are looking for. Meal Type (breakfast etc), Meal Components, Cook w/the kids, Serving Sizes, CACFP certified, All Recipes – Browse alphabetically, Advanced search (not necessary for launch)Slideshow, have a module for thisEasy Meal Finder – this would be a way for users to easily find recipes with specific ingredients they want to use. Click here for an example http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes. It would be pretty similar but the “I am making” option would be different. There would also be a field for CACFP certified. After the user clicks submit, search results will be returned similar to those set out in the slide “clicking on breakfast filter.”Maybe beneath those would be additional featured recipes or tips.
After entering the breakfast category, the search results will show all breakfast recipes. On the left menu side, there will be a new categories menu. Says things such as Muffins/Breads/Shakes/Burritos/Omelets/Pancakes/French Toast etc. User will click one of those categories and the recipes in that category will show in the same format as the original breakfast page. The original left menu on the home page will remain on the page but will be minimized or pushed down below the relevant categories filters.Sort By: User will have the ability to sort the recipes: 1) alphabetically, 2) reviews (high to low), 3) meal component, 4)cacfp approved, w/the kidsPictures of the item – if pictures are submitted show picture to the left. If no picture just a picture of an empty plate will show.Hyperlinked title/name of recipe with a short description underneath it. If there is no description, leave the white space blank (or fill in with the ingredients?)Show average rating by some sort of pictorial indicator. That is what the spoons are in the above picture. Number of ratings to the side of the image. Meal Component – picture of the MyPlate image with the correct part of the plate colored in depending on the component that the recipe fits. Text of what the component(s) is underneath the image or as hover over.Recipe Box – Image of the recipe box, if hover over get option to add to my recipe box directly from this screen. If the recipe box is clicked on get the standard pop-up for adding to recipe box.
Left side standard menu as in slide oneRecipe: Picture, Recipe Name, Ingredients, Instructions, Duration, Serves, Meal Component, Nutrition information if applicaple, source of recipe either submitted by a person or taken from something else.Tabbed navigation at the top for the recipe, reviews, my recipe box. The tab that is in operation will be a darker color than the rest or some other easy indicator of where you are.MyPlate picture, dynamically shows which meal component(s) this recipe could fit in. Also lists in text the component underneath the myplate image. Some sort of a CACFP Certified logo for the recipes that meet those requirementsRight box menu for different actions stays with the scrolling page, meaning it is always in view if you scroll down or up. It has the Share, add to my recipe box, rate or review, add to my shopping list, activities w/recipes and add to my menu. (if the shopping list and add to my menu are going to be pro features we would need a separate payment subscription for those items from cci).We can use “add this” for the share button, it might not be in that box if that is the case.
Standard left menuTabs remain but the right pane images and menus are removed on this pageAnother left hand menu for the recipe folders. (each user can create folders for their recipes) Create a new folder from here as well.Separate folder section for the recipes that the user has submitted themselvesAdd your recipe tab for the user to add their own recipe.Picture of the recipe, title of the recipe – hyperlinked to the recipes own page, myplate image with appropriate meal component highlighted, ratings. Buttons to: add notes, email, add to the grocery list, add to folder, remove.
Left side menuReviews: rating icons, most likely will be five kitchen utensils – show average rating in front. Show comment/review, print review with recipe, flag if inappropriate, date of review, kid approved, thumbs up or thumbs down for helpfulness of the review/comment/rating
When on recipe page and user clicks on rate/review in the right side box a pop-up box appears and the background screen slightly fades. We automatically insert the name of the recipe being reviewed. Chose the number of spoons/forks that user is rating recipe with, kid approved indicator to be checked off, review text box. Submit button.
Clicking add to shopping list in right hand navigation box. Pop-up appears, drop down with existing shopping list you can add it into or begin a new list and then add the recipe to that list.
(my naming isn’t consistent here-apologies)Same left side navigation/filteringSegment out which sections/aisles the shopping list item should be in. E.g. Sugar in baking etc.Note the recipes that are in the listAbility to add an extra item and add into the aisle/section that item belongs in or other.Coupons for relevant grocery list items.Print the grocery list
This looks just like the recipes page but some sort of a “child friendly” or “cook with the kids” indicator should be on the page. These will all be an extra filter option in each of the smaller categories to the left menu or any sorting option. Maybe we can make it a different color or…
