- First, I will introduce some background information about the topic.And then, I will describe some problems which have not been addressed in the recent literatures.Thirdly, I will show the methods to solve the previously mentioned problems.Followed by the conclusions and future directions.
- Wireless Sensor Networks are now widely used for monitoring and controlling systems where human intervention is not desirable or possible.
- Besides the characteristics of the wireless ad hoc networks, a sensor network also has its own characteristics. 1. Power is the biggest and primary concern in sensor networks. Transmitting consumes much more energy than computations. The power to transmit 1 bit is enough for executing 3000 instructions. That’s why we need to reduce the communication cost as much as possible. 2&3. Since large number of sensor nodes are densely deployed, neighboring nodes may be very close to each other. So, multi-hop communication in sensor networks may consume less power than the traditional single hop communication since the transmission power level of each node can be kept low in sensor networks. 4. Some sensor nodes may fail due to lack of power, physical damage or environmental interference. The failure of some sensor nodes should not affect the overall task of the sensor network.5. Attribute-based naming is used where users are more interested in an attribute rather than an individual node. ‘the areas where the temperature is over 70’, instead of ‘the temperature at node #7’ . Data is what people expect from the sensor networks. Each sensor generates a data stream. Therefore, the amount of the generated data could be huge and how to manage and store the data is a challenging problem in sensor networks.

- CRN: lots of spectrum sensing, spectrum scheduling and management are extensively investigated.Influence Maximization is the problem of finding a certain amount of people in a social network such that their aggregation influence through the network is maximized. For instance, in order to promote a new product, one can give a few influential people free samples of the product. Probably those people will recommend the product to their friends and many individuals will ultimately try it though such “world-of-mouth” effect. The IM problem is how to select the few initial people as seed set, such that the spread of influence can be maximized.
