Social
Studies
and
English
at
Pathfinder
Middle
School
in
Pinckey,
MI.
For
this
project,
Tommy
focused
on
finding
resources,
rooting
them
in
pedagogy,
and
explaining
the
rationale
for
using
Twitter
in
the
classroom.
Allison
focused
on
organization
of
the
proposal,
aesthetic
qualities,
and
crafting
our
social
presence
in
the
online
world.
Both
Allison
and
Tommy
contributed
with
ideas,
creativity,
and
content
knowledge.
3. Social
media
is
an
increasingly
important
tool
that
allows
students
to
connect
almost
instantly
to
others
around
the
globe.
Integrating
the
technology
students
are
using
helps
root
the
content
in
real-‐world
connections
and
allows
students
to
learn
and
contextualize
content
much
more
effectively.
We
want
to
use
technology
to
foster
learning,
increase
achievement,
and
expand
perspectives
on
a
quick,
easy,
and
traceable
social
medium
6. Add
relevancy
and
global
connections
to
Social
Studies
curriculum.
7. Expand
both
students’
and
teachers’
knowledge
bases
with
interactions
on
both
global
and
technical
levels.
8. We
plan
on
tracking
a
lot
of
our
progress
and
resources
through
our
blog,
which
can
be
found
here.
