2. High Protein/Low Carb
This type of diet aims to obtain most of the needed
amounts of daily calories from protein foods, such as
meat, dairy products and eggs, with a tiny part taken from
foods containing carbs (bread, pasta, potatoes and
fruits). The largest issue with this diet is that most
common and popular foods are prohibited, which makes
it simple for the user to get bored or discouraged. When
boredom and frustration set in, abandoning the plan is
not far off. Another issue is the absence of nutrients that
are usually taken in with carbohydrate foods, while
allowing the user to eat bacon and cheese that raise
levels of cholesterol
3. Problem with High Protein Diet
It is true that high protein/low carb diets lead to fast
weight loss in some users, but it‟s not only fat that goes
away. People also lose some of their lean muscle mass
and plenty of water as the kidneys work harder to rid the
body of excess waste from fat and protein.
The additional stress to your kidneys is not healthy at all
and, in the long run, will lead to dehydration, headaches,
feelings of nausea and dizziness. Before engaging in a
long-term diet, you would do well to discuss it together
with your physician. And in the event you are determined
on dieting, try a balanced diet first, because it will help
you lose weight without hurting your body.
4. Low-Fat/No-Fat Diet
The only low fat foods that are also low in calories
are fruits. The remainder of the low-fat or non-fat
group are not a safe choice in the event you are
dieting. These products may have added sugar,
starch or flour to make them taste better, which
means additional calories that do not belong in your
diet. So make sure you check the list of ingredients
on packages whenever you decide to buy low-fat.
5. Vegetarian Diet
No food plan will work for you unless you take
charge of your eating and are sure that you are sure
that everything that goes past your lips is the right
kind of food. The key here is to be absolutely sure
that the vegetarian diet will give your body all the
nutrients & calories it needs. Eating heaps of foods
that do nothing for you from the nutritional point of
view, outside of possibly filling your stomach, can
bring you lots of trouble in the future.
6. Vegetarian Diet Problems
Since plants tend to have a lower concentration of nutrients
than meat, you must eat more food than before to make up for
this difference. Not to mention that a strictly vegetarian diet
won't get you vitamin B12, vitamin D, iron, calcium & zinc.
These substances are taken mostly from dairy products & eggs
in a regular diet, but true vegetarians can‟t touch those. You
must depend on a few and unfamiliar vegetables that can
provide these substances.
Dairy products are the main source of calcium that keeps your
bones strong & healthy. It is absolutely essential for children
and can be in no way overlooked by adults. Dairy products also
contain vitamin D, which is crucial to maintaining the normal
levels of calcium & phosphorus in your bloodstream.
7. Dairy Products
Research shows that eating lots of dairy products is a surefire path to hypertension
& stroke. Whole Fat Milk and whole fat ice cream are the worse offenders. A pint of
ice cream has about 600 calories. If you sit in front of the T.V. every night with your
friend Mr. Ben & Jerry it will show up on your waist very soon. Avoid whole milk
and ice cream and get the low fat type of both.
Butter & margarine are the real dairy products you ought to worry about. They do
contain massive levels of fat. Still, in case you can‟t do without them, at least eat
butter. Margarine is an over-processed fat that is not healthy for you. Butter could
be a bit fatter, but it definitely is the healthier of these.
In case you want to avoid gaining weight from dairy products, then choose low-fat
or non-fat brands. There are many of those around. In case you are lactose-
intolerant, drink soy or rice milk. It does not taste the exact same as true milk, but
it‟s still lovely & nourishing. Try Almond or Rice milk they taste great.

8. Fad
Diets
The cornerstone of any diet is supplying the body with all the
calories, proteins and minerals it needs. Diets that cut out
foods without regard for the needs of your body cannot be
healthy for you. Fad diets fail to deliver on the promise of
permanent weight loss because people will always crave the
prohibited foods and will always end up breaking the rules
and ditching the diet.
The key to making weight loss permanent is more
exercise and to keep away from eating food that makes
you overweight without nourishing your body. Our
extensive studies confirmed the importance of exercising
and of a well-balanced diet.
9. Saturday Morning Diet

recommends that you eat a 100 calorie meal every two hours
and a salad containing protein at night. The main difference
between our plan and Medifast is that we give you the 100
calorie recipe for the “Joan Bars” which you make at home for
FREE while Medifast charges over $300.00 a month for their
100 calorie meals.
Joan Bars nutrients break down:

10. HCG Diet Products Are
Illegal
HCG Makes Big Claims
HCG is a hormone that is produced by the human placenta during pregnancy.
Products that claim to contain HCG are typically marketed in connection with a very low
calorie diet, usually one that limits calories to 500 per day. Many of these popular HCG
products claim to “reset your metabolism,” change “abnormal eating patterns,” and shave
20-30 pounds in 30-40 days.
“These products are marketed with incredible claims and people think that if they're
losing weight, HCG must be working,” says Elizabeth Miller, acting director of FDA‟s
Division of Non-Prescription Drugs and Health Fraud. “But the data simply does not
support this; any loss is from severe calorie restriction. Not from the HCG.”
HCG is approved by FDA as a prescription drug for the treatment of female infertility, and
other medical conditions. It is not approved for weight loss. In fact, the prescription drug
label notes there “is no substantial evidence that it increases weight loss beyond that
resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or „normal‟ distribution of
fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted
diets.”
