   NOTE:-
   1)The number of vacancies as also the numbers of reserved vacancies are
       provisional and may vary according to the actual requirement of the Bank.
   2)Candidates belonging to reserve category are free to apply against vacancies announced for
       general category.
   3)Reservation of vacancies as above includes backlog (Shortfall/ excess)
   4)It is clarified that it not be possible to employ Persons With Disability candidates in all
       Offices/Branches of the bank and they will have to work in the post identified by the Bank

NOTE: Medical Aid, LTC, Gratuity, etc., will be admissible as per the rules of the Bank. At present the
total starting emoluments of Officer Scale-I are around Rs.22685/- per month and that of Clerical cadre
are around Rs.12556/- per month (including two increments for Graduation) inclusive of D.A. and HRA at
the current rates depending on the place of posting

3. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

POST CODE (1) Nationality /
Citizenship:
Indian National should have fluency to speak, read and write in Hindi language. A candidate must be
either (i) a citizen of India, OR (ii) a subject of Nepal, OR (iii) subject of Bhutan, OR (iv) a Tibetan refugee
who came over to India before 1 January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, OR (v)
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of
Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi,
Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate
belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv).& (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility
has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is
necessary may be admitted to the examination/ interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection the
offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by
the Government of India.

4. AGE LIMIT: (FOR POST CADE 01 & 02)

Age: (AS ON 31.01.2011)

Post Code No. 01: Officer Scale-I : Above 18 Years but below 26 years (i.e. not born earlier than

01.02.1985 and not later than 31.01.1993)

Post Code No. 02 : Clerical Cadre-between 18 years and 26 years (i.e. not born earlier than
                          01.02.1985 and not later than 31.01.1993)
1.The relaxation in upper age limit is cumulative as per Govt. of India guidelines.
2.All persons eligible for age relaxation under 3 above must produce the domicile certificate at the time of
    interview, from the District Magistrate in the Kashmir Division within whose jurisdiction he/she had
    ordinarily resided or any other authority designated in this regard by the Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir,
    to the effect that the candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the state of
    Jammu & Kashmir during 1 January 1980 to 31 December 1989.
3.Above relaxations are available only if the candidates fulfill the various conditions prescribed in the
    Govt. of India orders and instructions in this regard. To claim age relaxation, reserved category
    candidates should submit a copy of the Community Certificate.
** Persons eligible for age relaxation under this criterion must produce a certificate from the District
Magistrate to the effect that they are eligible for relief in terms of the Rehabilitation package for 1984 Riot
affected persons sanctioned by the Government and communicated vide Ministry of Finance, Deptt. of
Financial Services Communication No. F.No.9/21/2006-IR
dated 27.07.2007.

Definition of Ex-Serviceman (EXS):
(i)      Ex-servicemen: Only those candidates shall be treated as Ex- Servicemen
         who fulfill the revised definition as laid down in Government of India, Ministry of
         Home Affairs, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms Notification
         No.36034/5/85/Estt(SCT) dated 27.10.1986 as amended from time to time.
(ii)     Disabled Ex-servicemen (DISXS): Ex-servicemen who while serving in armed forces
         of the union were disabled in operation against the enemy or in                     disturbed areas
         shall be treated as DISXS.
(iii)    Dependants of EX-servicemen killed in action (DXS): Servicemen killed in the
         following operations would be deemed to have been killed in action         attributable
         to military service (a) war, (b) war like operations or Border    Skirmishes either
         with Pakistan on cease fire line or any other country, (c) fighting against armed
         hostilities in a counter insurgency environment, viz. Nagaland, Mizoram, etc. (d)
         serving with peace keeping mission abroad, (e) laying or clearance of mines
         Including enemy mines as also mine sweeping operation between one month
         before and three months after conclusion of an operation, (f) frost bite during
         actual operations or during the period specified by the Government, (g) dealing
         with agitating para military forces personnel, (h) IPKF Personnel killed during the
         operations in Sri Lanka.

Definition: Persons with Disability (PWD) - Definition of Categories of Disabilities:

(a)     An Orthopaedically Challenged (OC) person is one suffering from Locomotor Disability or
          Cerebral Palsy. Persons who suffer from not less than 40% of relevant
          permanent disability (as certified by a Medical Board appointed by the Central/ State
          Government) would be eligible for reservation in services/ posts.

          Locomotor Disability means disability of the bones, joints or muscles leading to substantial
          restriction of the movement of the limbs or any form of cerebral palsy.

          Cerebral Palsy means a group of non progressive conditions of a person characterized by
          abnormal motor control posture resulting from brain insult or injuries occurring in the pre-natal,
          peri-natal, or infant period of development.

b)Deaf & Hearing Impaired (HI): the deaf are those persons in whom the sense of hearing is non-
       functional for ordinary purposes of life i.e. total loss of hearing in both ears. They do not hear;
       understand sounds at all even with amplified speech. Hearing impairment means loss of sixty
       decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies
c)Visually Handicapped (VH): The visually handicapped persons are those suffering from
       blindness of Low vision.

          Blindness: "Blindness" refers to a condition where a person suffers from any of the
          following conditions, namely:-

          (i)    Total absence of sight; or
          (ii)   Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (snellen) in the better eye with
                 correcting lenses; or

(iii) Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degree or worse

         Low vision : "Person with low vision" means a person with impairment of visual functioning even
         after treatment or standard refractive correction but who uses or is potentially capable of using
         vision for the planning or execution or a task with appropriate assistive device.

         The candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can use their own scribe at
         their cost during the written examination. In all such cases where a scribe is used, the following
         rules will apply:

          The candidate will have to arrange his/ her own scribe.
        i)      At his/ her own cost.
        ii)      The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade lower
                 than the stipulated eligibility criteria.
        iii)     Post code 1 (Scale-I Officer) the scribe can be from any academic
                 discipline. The scribe should possess 60% or lesser marks in his own
                 academic stream.
        iv)      Post code 2 (Clerical cadre) the scribe can be from any academic
                 discipline. The scribe should possess 60% or lesser marks in his own
                 academic stream.
        v)       Both the candidate as well as the scribe will have to give a suitable
                 undertaking confirming that the scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility
                 criteria for a scribe as mentioned above. Further in case, it later transpires that
                 he/ she did not fulfil any of the laid down eligibility criteria or suppresses
                 material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled,
                 irrespective of the result of the written examination.
        vi)   Such candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes for every
                hour of the examination

5. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: (As on 31.01.2011)

  POST CODE 1:
   Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent Knowledge of
   English and proficiency in local language (Hindi) is essential.
  ■   Preference shall be given to the candidates having higher qualification and Experience.

  POST CODE 2:
  ■     Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent
                                                   OR
  ■     A Pass in Higher Secondary School examination of 10 + 2 or 10 + 2 + 3 pattern/ 11th Std. of 11 +
        3 pattern / Pre-degree or Intermediate or any equivalent examination with a minimum of 50%
        marks in the aggregate in case of General candidates and 45% in case of SC/ST/O BC/PWD
                                                   OR
           Diploma in Banking recognized by State or Central Government or Union Territory.
                                                   OR
       ■ Pass with 60% marks in Matriculation / SSC (old pattern) / SSLC / 10 + 2 + 3 pattern in case of
       General candidates and 55% in case of SC/ST/OBC/PWD.
                                                  AND
   Must posses a minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute in English and 25 words per minutes in
   Hindi
                                                  AND
   Knowledge of English and proficiency in local language (Hindi) is essential. Preference shall be given
   to the candidates having higher qualification and Experience Preference will be given to candidates
   who are computer literates in MS DOS, MS WORD, MS EXCEL, NET WORKING etc.

   A) Payment of Fee: There are Two Challans available on our web site www.shreyas
                   bank.com for each category, details of which are as follows:

Post Code - 01 Officer Scale-I : PAYMENT CHALLAN -01

Post Code- 02- Clerical cadre: PAYMENT CHALLAN -02

A) Candidates should download one of the Challan Formats (as applicable to       them
   for the post applied for) from the Bank's website.
B) After filling up the required information on the form, they should   make payment
     of the fee applicable to them in any branch of Canara Bank and should keep the Candidate's
     Copy' of the Challan with receipt of fees duly acknowledged thereon, with them for producing the
     same at the time of written test alongwith the latest passport size photograph pasted on the
     Challan and signed across by the candidate.

     Important Note: Candidates will not be permitted to appear at the written test without
                      production of this Challan and Photograph.

C)Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and fees once paid will neither be refunded
   on any account nor can it be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.
D)Payment by cash/cheque/money order/bank demand draft/ bank pay order etc. will
   not be accepted.
E) Fees should be paid invariably between 05-04-2011 and 28-04-2011 only. Fees paid
   before or after the stipulated dates, if any, will not be acknowledged for the
   purpose of application and will be forfeited.



SELECTION PROCEDURE:

   Merely satisfying the eligibility norms do not entitle a candidate to be called for written test or
   interview. The selection of candidates shall be made on the basis of written test and interview. All the
   eligible candidates who apply and whose applications are received in time will be considered for
   selection process, which is as under:

       a.    Selection procedure for Officers and Clerk cum Cashiers :

            i   Procedure consisting of Written Test & Interview.
            ii The Written test for Officers will consist of objective tests of Reasoning Ability,
            Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness & English Language as detailed here
            below:

        iii The Written Test for Clerk-cum-Cashier will consist of objective tests of Reasoning Ability,

           Note:
               ■The marks obtained in first 3 papers will be reduced to 60% for the purpose of
               preparing merit list after the written examination.
               ■The candidate must obtain minimum of 35% marks (30% for SC/ST/OBC/
               PWD) in each test
               ■The test of English language is only a qualifying exam and one has to obtain minimum
               of 35% marks (30% for SC/ST/O BC/PWD).

iii Marks obtained in the written test will be reckoned for merit ranking.
              Accordingly candidates will be called for interview. Depending upon number of
              vacancies, only a certain number of candidates from the candidates merit listed in
              the Written Examination will be called for Interview in the ratio of 1:4. Mere pass in
              the test shall not vest in any right for being called for interview.
              iv Final selection will be made on the basis of aggregate marks obtained by the
              candidates in the Written test & Interview and will be strictly according to the merit.
              v The Bank reserves the right to hold a second stage of examination if required on the
              basis of order of merit. If the second stage of written examination is held the subsequent
              process of interview and further process would be on the basis of order of merit in the second
              stage examination.

8. TEST DATE AND CENTRES OF EXAMINATION -(FOR POST CODE 01 & 02):

(i) The written test is tentatively fixed on the following dates. The exact date will be communicated to the
      candidates through call letters for written test.     The Bank, however, reserves the right to cancel or
      make any change in the date of written test, if need arises.

(ii) The Written Test will be scheduled at the following Centre and the address of the Venue will

      The Bank, however, reserves the right to cancel any of the Centers and/ or add other Centers,
      depending on the response, administrative feasibility etc. The Bank also reserves the right to allot the
      Candidate any Center other than the one he/ she has opted for and the right to waive any of the
      criteria for selection looking at the requirement and exigencies.

9.    PROBATION:

10. PRE-EXAMINATION TRAINING FOR SC/ST/MINORITY CANDIDATES (FOR POST
    CODE 01 & 02):
   It is proposed to impart free Pre- Examination Training to SC/ST/Minority Candidates at ALIGARH for
   both Posts (Post code-1 and Post Code-2). Training center may also be changed at the discretion of
   the Bank. An eligible candidate who wishes to avail Pre-Examination Training should fill in the
   relevant column in the application format. All expenses regarding traveling, boarding, lodging etc will
   be borne by the candidate for attending the Pre- Examination Training programme at the concerned
   Training Center.

11. HOW TO APPLY:

      1. All eligible candidates are required to apply online only in the prescribed
          Format through our website www.shreyasbank.com from 05-04-2011 to 28-04-
          2011. Please note that the last date for submission of online application is 28-04-
          2011.
           No other means/ mode of application will be accepted.
      2.Candidates are requested to have a valid personal e-mail ID. It should be kept active for the
          duration of this recruitment project. Bank may send call letter for written test, interview etc.
          through the registered e-mail ID. Under no circumstances, a candidate should share
          mentioned e-mail ID of any other person.
      3.In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-
          mail ID before applying on-line.
      4.There is provision to modify the submitted online application. Candidates are requested to make
          use of this facility to correct the details in online application, if any. This modification facility shall

be available after two days of registration and upto 30-04-2011. Modification will be allowed only
       three times. After the last date i.e 30-04-2011, no modification will be permitted.
    5.Candidates are first required to go to the Bank's Website www.shreyas bank.com and click on
       the Home Page to open the link "Recruitment" thereafter, open the Recruitment Notification.
    6.Take a print of the 'FEE PAYMENT CHALLAN'.
12. Payment of Application Fee

Candidates should first download one of the Challans * as applicable to them from the Bank's website
www.shreyasbank.com

    *There are Two challans available on the Bank website

    1.FOR THE POST OF OFFICERS SCALE -1              : PAYMENT CHALLAN -01

    2.FOR THE POST OF CRELK-CUM-CASHIER : PAYMENT CHALLAN-02

        Candidates can pay the fees at any of the Canara Bank Branches .

Candidates should ensure that on deposit of fee, the branch issues him a receipt which includes
the following items:

         (i)       Canara Bank Branch Name
         (ii)      Branch Code Number
         (iii)     Transaction ID Number
            (iv)    Deposit Date.

After filling in the required information on the challan they should pay the requisite fee in any branches
of CANARA BANK .

Note:
a)Application Fee and Postage Charges should be paid through Fee Payment Challan.
b)Payment of application fee and or postal charges by Demand Draft /Cheques/Money Orders/Postal
   order etc. will not be accepted.
Obtain the Candidate's Copy of Counterfoil of the Application Fee Payment Challan duly receipted
by the Bank under 'Cash Received' Stamp and Signature with (a) Branch Name and Branch Code
Number, (b) Transaction ID, (c) Deposit Date & amount duly written by the Branch Official.
Note :
 1.Candidate will not be permitted for the Written Test without the production of this Challan and
         Photograph.
 2.Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and Examination Fee once paid
         will neither be refunded on any account nor can it be held in reserve for any other
         selection process
 3.Challan as they will have to submit the same alongwith the Call Letter at the time of the written test.
         Without original counterfoil of fee payment challan and the call letter for written test, the
         candidate will not be allowed to appear in the written test
 4.Candidate is now ready to apply on-line by revisiting the Recruitment Link on the Bank's Website and
         choosing the option "CLICK HERE TO APPLY ON-LINE" to open up the on-line Application
         Form.
 5.Candidate should carefully fill in the details from the Fee Payment Challan in the on-line
         application at the appropriate places. They should also fill in all other required details therein
         very carefully and click on the 'SUBMIT' button at the end of the on-line Application Format
         before pressing the submit button, Candidates are advised to verify every particular given in the
         application. The name of the Candidate or his/her father/husband etc. should be spelt
         correctly in the application as it appears in the Certificate/Mark sheet any change
         alteration found may disqualify the candidature.
 6.The Candidate should note/ remember the Registration number and Password for future reference
         and use.
 7.After applying on-line, the candidates should take a print out of the system generated on-line

application form and retain it for future reference.      They should not send this print out to
           the Bank.
     8.Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply on-line much before        the closing date and
           not to wait till the last date for depositing the fee to                                  avoid the
           possibility of disconnection/inability/failure to log on the Bank's website on account of heavy
           load on internet/website jam.
     9.The bank does not assume any responsibility for the candidates not being              able to submit their
  applications within the last date on account of the aforesaid or for any other reason beyond the control
  of the Bank.
10.Please note that the above procedure is the only valid procedure for applying. No other mode of
        application or incomplete step would be accepted and such application would be rejected.
11.A recent passport size photograph should be firmly pasted on the paid Challan (Candidate's Copy).
        Five copies of the same photograph should be retained for use at the time of written test and
        interview. Candidates are advised not to change their appearance till the recruitment process is
        completed. Failure to produce the same photograph at the time of written test and interview may
        lead
         to disqualification. The "Candidate's copy" of the exam fee challan with a recent photograph of
         the candidate pasted       thereon should be handed over at the examination centre.
12.     Candidates should keep two copies of the Application printout, a copy of the
         printout with the recent photograph of the candidate duly pasted_______________thereon wi l l
         have to be submitted at the time of interview, the other copy____________may be retained
        for personal record of the candidate.____________ A copy of the Challan (indicating
         Transaction No.) may be retained for the candidate's_______________record . The Original
         Challan will have to be submitted with the call letter at the time of written test.
13.The Bank takes no responsibility for any certificate/remittance sent separately by candidate.
14.Candidates who wish to apply for more than one post have to pay the application fees
        separately for each post and apply for each post separately.
15. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

a)     As the applications are to be processed by a computerised system, it is essential
       that the application is properly and completely filled in.
b)     Before applying, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility and other
       norms mentioned in this advertisement. Bank would be free to reject any application at
       any stage of the recruitment process, if the candidate is found ineligible for the post.
       The decision of the Bank shall be final in taking decision on qualification and other
       eligibility norms. No correspondence or personal enquires shall be entertained by the
       Bank in this behalf.
c)Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and the fee once paid will not be refunded
        on any account nor would this fee be held in reserve for any future examination or selection.
d)A recent passport size photograph should be firmly pasted on the Challan (Candidates copy) and
        should be signed across, by the candidate. Five copies of the same photograph
        should be retained for use at the time of written examination and interview. Candidates are
        advised not to change their appearance till the recruitment process is completed. Failure
        to produce the same photograph at the time of written test and interview may lead to
        disqualification.
e)Every Officer or Employee on his appointment in the Bank will be posted in any Office/Branch of the
        Bank or to any other place where the business of the Bank may need his services.
f)The decision of the Bank in all matters regarding eligibility of the candidate the stages at which such
        scrutiny or eligibility is to be undertaken, the document to be produced for the purpose of the
        conduct of examination, interview, selection and any other matter relating to recruitment will be
        final and binding on the candidate. No correspondence or personal enquiries shall be entertained
        in this behalf.
g)The Bank may at its discretion hold re-examination wherever necessary in respect of a centre/
        venue/specific post of a candidate(s).
h)      The Bank shall not be responsible for an application being rejected which is based
        on wrong information provided in any advertisement issued by an unauthorized
        person/Institution.
i)      Any request for change of address will NOT be entertained.
j)   Any resultant dispute arising out of this advertisement shall be subject to the sole Jurisdiction of the
        courts situated in ALIGARH. In case any dispute arises on account of interpretation of version
        other than English the English version will prevail.
k)   Candidates who wish to apply for more than one post has to pay the application fees
        separately for each post and apply for each post separately. l)     No candidate is permitted to
use calculator, Mobiles, pager or any other such
         instruments during the examination. The candidates will appear for the written
         examination at the allotted centres at their expenses and risks and the Bank will
        not be responsible for any injury/loss etc. of any nature. m)
Canvassing in any form will be disqualification.

O    Candidates in their own interest are advised to submit their application online well in time before
           the last date to avoid possible technical snags.

      O Appointment of selected candidates will be subject to his/her being declared medically fit as per
         the requirement of the Bank. Such appointments will be subject to the Service & Conduct Rules
         of the Bank

16.    COMPETENT AUTHORITY FOR ISSUE OF CERTIFICATE TO SC/ST/OBC/PWD IS
       AS UNDER:
a) For SC/ST/OBC- District Magistrate / Addl. Distt. Magistrate/ Collector/ Deputy Commissioner / Addl.
      Dy. Commissioner/ Dy. Collector / First Class Stipendiary Magistrate / Sub- Division Magistrate/
      Taluka Magistrate / Executive Magistrate/ Extra Assistant Commissioner/ Chief Presidency
      Magistrate/ Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate/ Revenue Officer not
      below the rank of Tahsildar/ Sub Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or his / her
      family normally resides.

In OBC Category the appointment will be provisional and will subject to the community certificate being
verified through the proper channel. If the verification reveals that the claim of the candidate to belong to
Other Backward Classes or not to belong to creamy layer is false, his/her services will be terminated
forthwith without assigning any further reasons and without prejudice to such further action as may be
taken under the provisions of Indian Penal Code for production of false certificate. The crucial date for this
purpose will be last date of receipt of application. (b) For Persons with Disability - the Competent
Authority to issue Disability Certificate shall be a Medical Board duly constituted by the Central or State
Govt. The Central/ State Govt. may constitute Medical Boards consisting of at least 3 members out of
which one shall be a specialist in the particular field for assessing loco motor/ cerebral/visual/ hearing
disability as the case may be.

17.    ACTION AGAINST CANDIDATES FOUND GUILTY OF MISCONDUCT:
          Candidates are advised in their own interest that they should not furnish any particulars that are
          false, tampered, fabricated and should not suppress any material information while filling up the
          Application.
          At the time of written examination/ interview, if a candidate is (or has been) found guilty of - (i)
          using unfair means during the examination or (ii) impersonating or procuring impersonation by
          any person or (iii) misbehaving in the examination hall or taking away the question booklet (or
          any part thereof) / answer sheet from the examination hall or (iv) resorting to any irregular or
          improper means in connection with his/ her candidature for selection or (v) obtaining support for
          his/ her candidature by unfair means, such a candidate may, in addition to rendering himself/
          herself liable to criminal prosecution, be liable:

          a)to be disqualified from the examination for which he/ she is a candidate.
          b)to be debarred either permanently or for a specified period from any examination or
               recruitment conducted by Shreyas Gramin Bank.
          c)for termination of service, if he/ she has already joined the Bank.

          Note: The Bank would analyze the responses of a candidate with other candidates to detect
          patterns of similarity. If as per the laid down procedure, it is suspected that the responses have
          been shared and scores obtained are not genuine/ valid, the bank reserves right to cancel his/
          her candidature.

18.   THE EMPLOYEES OF SHREYAS GRAMIN BANK ARE ALSO ELIGIBLE TO APPLY
       FOR THE POSTS AS AFORESAID SUBJECT TO FULFILLING THE
       SPECIFICATIONS STIPULATED.

      All eligible candidates will be issued call letters at the correspondence address given by the
      candidates in their application form, which will be sent by post. An eligible candidates who do not
      receive the call letters by (i) 13-06-2011 for Post Code-1 Officer Jr. Mgmt. Scale-I (ii) 20-06-2011

     www.shreyasbank.com in by entering his/her details, between the following dates:

SC/ST/OBC/GENERAL) to which they belong. NOTE: Medical Aid, LTC, Gratuity, etc., will be admissible as per the rules of the Bank. At present the total starting emoluments of Officer Scale-I are around Rs.22685/- per month and that of Clerical cadre are around Rs.12556/- per month (including two increments for Graduation) inclusive of D.A. and HRA at the current rates depending on the place of posting 3. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: POST CODE (1) Nationality / Citizenship: Indian National should have fluency to speak, read and write in Hindi language. A candidate must be either (i) a citizen of India, OR (ii) a subject of Nepal, OR (iii) subject of Bhutan, OR (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1 January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, OR (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv).& (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination/ interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India. AGE LIMIT: (FOR POST CADE 01 & 02) Age: (AS ON 31.01.2011) Post Code No. 01: Officer Scale-I : Above 18 Years but below 26 years (i.e. not born earlier than 1
  • 2. 01.02.1985 and not later than 31.01.1993) Post Code No. 02 : Clerical Cadre-between 18 years and 26 years (i.e. not born earlier than 01.02.1985 and not later than 31.01.1993) 1.The relaxation in upper age limit is cumulative as per Govt. of India guidelines. 2.All persons eligible for age relaxation under 3 above must produce the domicile certificate at the time of interview, from the District Magistrate in the Kashmir Division within whose jurisdiction he/she had ordinarily resided or any other authority designated in this regard by the Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir, to the effect that the candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the state of Jammu & Kashmir during 1 January 1980 to 31 December 1989. 3.Above relaxations are available only if the candidates fulfill the various conditions prescribed in the Govt. of India orders and instructions in this regard. To claim age relaxation, reserved category candidates should submit a copy of the Community Certificate. ** Persons eligible for age relaxation under this criterion must produce a certificate from the District Magistrate to the effect that they are eligible for relief in terms of the Rehabilitation package for 1984 Riot affected persons sanctioned by the Government and communicated vide Ministry of Finance, Deptt. of Financial Services Communication No. F.No.9/21/2006-IR dated 27.07.2007. Definition of Ex-Serviceman (EXS): (i) Ex-servicemen: Only those candidates shall be treated as Ex- Servicemen who fulfill the revised definition as laid down in Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms Notification No.36034/5/85/Estt(SCT) dated 27.10.1986 as amended from time to time. (ii) Disabled Ex-servicemen (DISXS): Ex-servicemen who while serving in armed forces of the union were disabled in operation against the enemy or in disturbed areas shall be treated as DISXS. (iii) Dependants of EX-servicemen killed in action (DXS): Servicemen killed in the following operations would be deemed to have been killed in action attributable to military service (a) war, (b) war like operations or Border Skirmishes either with Pakistan on cease fire line or any other country, (c) fighting against armed hostilities in a counter insurgency environment, viz. Nagaland, Mizoram, etc. (d) serving with peace keeping mission abroad, (e) laying or clearance of mines Including enemy mines as also mine sweeping operation between one month before and three months after conclusion of an operation, (f) frost bite during actual operations or during the period specified by the Government, (g) dealing with agitating para military forces personnel, (h) IPKF Personnel killed during the operations in Sri Lanka. Definition: Persons with Disability (PWD) - Definition of Categories of Disabilities: (a) An Orthopaedically Challenged (OC) person is one suffering from Locomotor Disability or Cerebral Palsy. Persons who suffer from not less than 40% of relevant permanent disability (as certified by a Medical Board appointed by the Central/ State Government) would be eligible for reservation in services/ posts. Locomotor Disability means disability of the bones, joints or muscles leading to substantial restriction of the movement of the limbs or any form of cerebral palsy. Cerebral Palsy means a group of non progressive conditions of a person characterized by abnormal motor control posture resulting from brain insult or injuries occurring in the pre-natal, peri-natal, or infant period of development. b)Deaf & Hearing Impaired (HI): the deaf are those persons in whom the sense of hearing is non- functional for ordinary purposes of life i.e. total loss of hearing in both ears. They do not hear; understand sounds at all even with amplified speech. Hearing impairment means loss of sixty decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies c)Visually Handicapped (VH): The visually handicapped persons are those suffering from blindness of Low vision. Blindness: "Blindness" refers to a condition where a person suffers from any of the following conditions, namely:- (i) Total absence of sight; or (ii) Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses; or 2

(iii) Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degree or worse Low vision : "Person with low vision" means a person with impairment of visual functioning even after treatment or standard refractive correction but who uses or is potentially capable of using vision for the planning or execution or a task with appropriate assistive device. The candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can use their own scribe at their cost during the written examination. In all such cases where a scribe is used, the following rules will apply: The candidate will have to arrange his/ her own scribe. i) At his/ her own cost. ii) The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade lower than the stipulated eligibility criteria. iii) Post code 1 (Scale-I Officer) the scribe can be from any academic discipline. The scribe should possess 60% or lesser marks in his own academic stream. iv) Post code 2 (Clerical cadre) the scribe can be from any academic discipline. The scribe should possess 60% or lesser marks in his own academic stream. v) Both the candidate as well as the scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking confirming that the scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe as mentioned above. Further in case, it later transpires that he/ she did not fulfil any of the laid down eligibility criteria or suppresses material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the written examination. vi) Such candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes for every hour of the examination 5. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: (As on 31.01.2011) POST CODE 1: Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent Knowledge of English and proficiency in local language (Hindi) is essential. ■ Preference shall be given to the candidates having higher qualification and Experience. POST CODE 2: ■ Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent OR ■ A Pass in Higher Secondary School examination of 10 + 2 or 10 + 2 + 3 pattern/ 11th Std. of 11 + 3 pattern / Pre-degree or Intermediate or any equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in case of General candidates and 45% in case of SC/ST/O BC/PWD OR Diploma in Banking recognized by State or Central Government or Union Territory. OR ■ Pass with 60% marks in Matriculation / SSC (old pattern) / SSLC / 10 + 2 + 3 pattern in case of General candidates and 55% in case of SC/ST/OBC/PWD. AND Must posses a minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute in English and 25 words per minutes in Hindi AND Knowledge of English and proficiency in local language (Hindi) is essential. Preference shall be given to the candidates having higher qualification and Experience Preference will be given to candidates who are computer literates in MS DOS, MS WORD, MS EXCEL, NET WORKING etc. 6. Post Code - 01 Officer Scale-I : PAYMENT CHALLAN -01 Post Code- 02- Clerical cadre: PAYMENT CHALLAN -02 A) Candidates should download one of the Challan Formats (as applicable to them for the post applied for) from the Bank's website. B) After filling up the required information on the form, they should make payment of the fee applicable to them in any branch of Canara Bank and should keep the Candidate's Copy' of the Challan with receipt of fees duly acknowledged thereon, with them for producing the same at the time of written test alongwith the latest passport size photograph pasted on the Challan and signed across by the candidate. Important Note: Candidates will not be permitted to appear at the written test without production of this Challan and Photograph. C)Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and fees once paid will neither be refunded on any account nor can it be held in reserve for any other examination or selection. D)Payment by cash/cheque/money order/bank demand draft/ bank pay order etc. will not be accepted. E) Fees should be paid invariably between 05-04-2011 and 28-04-2011 only. Fees paid before or after the stipulated dates, if any, will not be acknowledged for the purpose of application and will be forfeited. SELECTION PROCEDURE: Merely satisfying the eligibility norms do not entitle a candidate to be called for written test or interview. The selection of candidates shall be made on the basis of written test and interview. All the eligible candidates who apply and whose applications are received in time will be considered for selection process, which is as under: a. Selection procedure for Officers and Clerk cum Cashiers : i Procedure consisting of Written Test & Interview. ii The Written test for Officers will consist of objective tests of Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness & English Language as detailed here below: Sl No Papers No. of Max.   • 5. iii Marks obtained in the written test will be reckoned for merit ranking. Accordingly candidates will be called for interview. Depending upon number of vacancies, only a certain number of candidates from the candidates merit listed in the Written Examination will be called for Interview in the ratio of 1:4. Mere pass in the test shall not vest in any right for being called for interview. iv Final selection will be made on the basis of aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the Written test & Interview and will be strictly according to the merit. v The Bank reserves the right to hold a second stage of examination if required on the basis of order of merit. If the second stage of written examination is held the subsequent process of interview and further process would be on the basis of order of merit in the second stage examination. 8. TEST DATE AND CENTRES OF EXAMINATION -(FOR POST CODE 01 & 02): (i) The written test is tentatively fixed on the following dates. The exact date will be communicated to the candidates through call letters for written test. The Bank, however, reserves the right to cancel or make any change in the date of written test, if need arises. POST CODE - 01 : 19-06-2011 POST CODE - 02 : 26-06-2011 (ii) The Written Test will be scheduled at the following Centre and the address of the Venue will be advised in the Call Letter: NAME OF THE CENTRE & CODE : Sl. NAME OF CENTRE CODE No. 1 ALIGARH 11 2 AGRA 12 3 HATHRAS 13 4 ETAH 14 The Bank, however, reserves the right to cancel any of the Centers and/ or add other Centers, depending on the response, administrative feasibility etc. The Bank also reserves the right to allot the Candidate any Center other than the one he/ she has opted for and the right to waive any of the criteria for selection looking at the requirement and exigencies. 9. PROBATION: Post Code- 01 : 2 Years Post Code- 02 : 1 Year 10. PRE-EXAMINATION TRAINING FOR SC/ST/MINORITY CANDIDATES (FOR POST CODE 01 & 02): It is proposed to impart free Pre- Examination Training to SC/ST/Minority Candidates at ALIGARH for both Posts (Post code-1 and Post Code-2). Training center may also be changed at the discretion of the Bank. An eligible candidate who wishes to avail Pre-Examination Training should fill in the relevant column in the application format. All expenses regarding traveling, boarding, lodging etc will be borne by the candidate for attending the Pre- Examination Training programme at the concerned Training Center. 11. HOW TO APPLY: 1. All eligible candidates are required to apply online only in the prescribed Format through our website www.shreyasbank.com from 05-04-2011 to 28-04- 2011. Please note that the last date for submission of online application is 28-04- 2011. No other means/ mode of application will be accepted. 2.Candidates are requested to have a valid personal e-mail ID. It should be kept active for the duration of this recruitment project. Without original counterfoil of fee payment challan and the call letter for written test, the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the written test 4.Candidate is now ready to apply on-line by revisiting the Recruitment Link on the Bank's Website and choosing the option "CLICK HERE TO APPLY ON-LINE" to open up the on-line Application Form. 5.Candidate should carefully fill in the details from the Fee Payment Challan in the on-line application at the appropriate places. They should also fill in all other required details therein very carefully and click on the 'SUBMIT' button at the end of the on-line Application Format before pressing the submit button, Candidates are advised to verify every particular given in the application. The name of the Candidate or his/her father/husband etc. should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the Certificate/Mark sheet any change alteration found may disqualify the candidature. 6.The Candidate should note/ remember the Registration number and Password for future reference and use. 7.After applying on-line, the candidates should take a print out of the system generated on-line 6

They should not send this print out to the Bank. 8.Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply on-line much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date for depositing the fee to avoid the possibility of disconnection/inability/failure to log on the Bank's website on account of heavy load on internet/website jam. 9.The bank does not assume any responsibility for the candidates not being able to submit their applications within the last date on account of the aforesaid or for any other reason beyond the control of the Bank. 10.Please note that the above procedure is the only valid procedure for applying. No other mode of application or incomplete step would be accepted and such application would be rejected. 11.A recent passport size photograph should be firmly pasted on the paid Challan (Candidate's Copy). Five copies of the same photograph should be retained for use at the time of written test and interview. Candidates are advised not to change their appearance till the recruitment process is completed. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: a) As the applications are to be processed by a computerised system, it is essential that the application is properly and completely filled in. b) Before applying, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility and other norms mentioned in this advertisement.
