1. Position Information
Designation: Senior Manager – Legal Reports To: COO/CFO
Grade: Senior Manager Division / Sub-Division: CORPORATE
Job Description
• Lead legal cases of the company and guide management on potential risk.
• Select legal counsel appropriate to the legal case and drive the outcome in appropriate courts in the country
• To represent the company in case of all civil & criminal litigation cases
• Prepare and finalize all legal contracts of the company with various parties and forum.
• Lead company as a compliance officer to ensure compliance with all applicable laws of the company
• To ensure safekeeping of legal documents as per established company practices
• Scrutinizing and sketching various compliance policies.
• Formulate and manage the compliance calendar
• Manage the legal team under him
Briefly State the essential Candidate specifications; Knowledge, Skills, Abilities required to successfully perform
the job:
• Good understanding of the contractual laws / regulations, civil & criminal laws, capital market related issues,
and a sound commercial and business orientation is essential.
Internal / External Interactions: Both HIGH/MEDIUM/LOW
Internal - CEO, COO, CFO, Function Heads at the corporate and Branch heads.
External - Councils, Advocates, Vendors, Various service providers etc.
Experience required:
• Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in Legal & Compliance team of a dynamic corporate setup / Law firm.
• Should have an experience in leading the team of junior legal professionals
• Excellent domain skills required for delivering the job responsibility in Civil, Criminal and Corporate legal work
• Experience in handling litigation is mandatory
Academic Qualification required:
• LLB from Cat 1 law schools. CS will be an added advantage.
The person should have an ability to understand a business situation and guide management on legal strategy to
be followed for the company. This is a mid-management position hence the person should have an ability to lead
the discussion to the conclusion and must have an ability to deal with multi-disciplinary people in the
organization.
