from a nonwealthy family and was looking to
make a name for himself. He then grew out

classes, while impressing his professors, and
graduated with honors from the University of
Washington.

Bundy was hired to work on the re-election
campaign of Dan Evans, Washington’s
republican Governor at the time. Evans was re-

of Seattle’s Crime Prevention Advisory
Committee. He then assisted the chairman of the
Washington State Republican Party. Bundy was
then appointed assistant state chairman of a
political organization supporting the presidential
candidacy of Republican Nelson Rockefeller.
