STPAPR

Avon Protection ST53 / STPAPR
Developed with the unknown elements of a threat
scenario in mind. It enables a fast response to changing operational conditions in one complete modular
system. A switch between negative (filter) and positive (SCBA) pressure is achieved at the flick of a lever
on the front of the mask. And by attaching a short or
long duration compressed air cylinder, it is possible
to enter a location on filter mode, assess the situation
and change to SCBA mode if the need arises.
The addition of the STPAPR provides additional levels
of serviceability and comfort associated with powered
air while still retaining the ability to switch instantly
to the positive pressure SCBA mode when required.
The STPAPR achieves this by utilising a Compact Demand Valve (CDV) fitted directly into the STPAPR. The
STPAPR is NIOSH certified with industrial protection
under 42 CFR 84 with the FM53 and the combination
cartridge, part number 033018, for protection against
chlorobenzylidene malononitrile, chloroacetophenone,
ammonia, chlorine, sulfur dioxide and particulates at a
high efficiency level (CS/CN/ AM/CL/SD/HE).

PROTECTION
Blauer Multi-Threat
Ensemble
Blauer’s HZ9420 Multi-Threat ensemble offers the highest level of
protection in the Homeland Defender® line from liquid, vapor,
and particulate forms of CBRN
challenge agents. The HZ9420 is
made of GORE® CHEMPAK® Ultra-barrier fabric and is certified
to NFPA 1994 (2007 Ed.) Class
2 for protection against chemical warfare agents (CWA’s) and
toxic industrial chemicals (TIC’s)
at concentrations at or above
IDLH when worn with approved
SCBA systems and footwear. For
added protection, this revolutionary non-permeable membrane is
laminated to a 4.5 ounce NOMEX
IIIA outer shell, which provides
excellent static dissipative performance and resists melting,
dripping, and burning when exposed to high heat and flame.
Superior Heat Stress
Management
Blauer’s WZ9435 XRT ensemble is NFPA 1994 (2007
Ed.) Class 3 certified for protection against CBRN
agents at levels below IDLH. Made with GORE®
CHEMPAK® Selectively-permeable fabric, the XRT suit
is lightweight and highly breathable to provide comfort
during extended response operations. The suit’s one
piece design with integrated glove system and booties eliminates the need for chemical tape and allows
first responders and down-range personnel to quickly
self-don the suit with approved APR/PAPR systems, if
necessary.

Blauer XRT Ensemble
First responders and HAZMAT
teams typically must deal with
heat stress and elevated core
body temperatures caused in
large part by their PPE ensembles, which trap body heat and
interfere with the body’s sweat
response. The HZ9420 MultiThreat suit effectively alleviates
this problem through a unique
“evaporative cooling” capability. The NOMEX® IIIA outer shell
has been engineered to absorb
water without affecting the integrity or protective performance
of the underlying GORE® CHEMPAK® barrier. By wetting the suit
down with water before or during
use, the wearer benefits from a
natural cooling effect similar to
sweating as the water evaporates
from the outer shell.

Kappler Frontline® 500
Vapor Total Encapsulating Suit
Get triple assurance with a single suit certified to NFPA 1991. Frontline® 500 offers
three-way protection – broad chemical
holdout, plus flame resistance and radiant
heat protection for the additional hazards
encountered in a chemical flash-fire. NFPA
certification now includes base plus Optional Flash Fire and Liquified Gas requirements.
Kappler’s single-suit design means goodbye to the days of a cumbersome two-suit
NFPA 1991 configuration. As with all Kappler apparel, this is a multi-use, single exposure garment. Offering comparable protection to Kappler’s Zytron® 500 chemical
apparel, Frontline 500 provides excellent
holdout for the ASTM F1001 battery and
beyond.
For optimal radiant heat protection, Kappler’s commitment to user survivability led
us to use the more demanding Pyroman
Thermal Manikin testing in addition to the
NFPA 1991 Chemical Flash Fire Option. Pyroman results for Frontline 500 indicated
0% body burn – a huge confidence factor
when facing a chemical flash situation.
Chemical, flash, radiant – three hazards,
one suit. With Frontline 500, Kappler’s got
your back – and your front.
Applications:
• Hazmat response
• Chemical handling with potential for
chemical flash-fire
