4. Is targeting doctor the right move? As a doctor there are people willing to embrace technology and be tech savvy. But there are hardly any solutions which will cater to them according to my market survey. Computerization seems to embrace all fields, hardly it has touch the life of a doctor The negatives to embracing the software solutions for a doc are Software’s in market is not simple to use for a doctor Its all cluttered with unnecessary features And yeah keeping a computer or laptop is a pain while travelling Monstrous subscriptions the software companies levy on them to keep funds coming to help them survive No good marketing strategy Doc 2.0
5. What I think of the problems of a doctor? I have observed how painfully these doc’s write these prescriptions. Its called ‘Chicken scratch’ , I have observed how several times these lead to pharmacy giving them wrong medicine. To avoid these patients keep going back to a doctor to confirm the same, which in case is a waste of time for the doc. Doc 2.0
6. What net says ? Dangers of Paper Prescriptions “The e-prescribing initiative will eliminate common errors associated with handwritten prescriptions, including wrong drugs sold because a pharmacist can't read a doctor's writing, and a lack of drug interaction checks”, said Dr. Nancy Dickey, president of the Health Science Center and vice chancellor for health affairs at Texas A&M University System. "Paper kills," added Newt Gingrich, a former U.S. representative and founder of the Center for Health Transformation. "It is a clear fact that a paper prescription is dangerous.“ Gingrich and other speakers pointed to a July 2006 study by the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences that said 1.5 million U.S. residents are injured each year and more than 7000 killed because of prescription errors. Only about 20 percent of U.S. doctors use e-prescribing systems, but the NEPSI program "literally takes away any excuse" that doctors have, Gingrich said. Doc 2.0
7. What I think of the problems of a doctor? Patients keep visiting the doctor often, research shows people trust on two or three doctors in their life time Its not easy remembering the past records of your regular customer, there are solutions for this but have you observed any doctor you visit looking at his computer to see the past records. There are dumb doctors out their which makes life easier if you know about the patient. What do they really need – their past prescriptions are enough to write a novel about them. Doc 2.0
8. What I think of the problems of a doctor? We have javadoc to do easy work, they have various solutions and apps there in net to do a quick symptom search, reference medical terms, but do the doctors really know I bet 80% of the doctors don’t even know what is a Android or its usefulness in the field. 9. There are more than 1000+ apps in the android market to help doctors make their daily tasks easy. Doc 2.0
11. To be continued ? In short summary I am planning to develop a simpe to use app for Doctor, Couple it with good features – airprint, reference app, medical record gathering, and may be further collaboration Bundle a good decent android tablet 6000/- and 1000/- give them a bundled solution Warning: This is my second venture, my first venture Was a failure because, the two guys I trusted in Chennai were busy with girls and had no spark in them to do something. I really want people who will work not for money, just for the passion of doing something. Doc 2.0
