2. Made Me Who I Am Today Apart from my family and my friends, making the decision to attend the University of Arizona has made a major contribution to who I am today and has strong implications on who I am going to be in the future.
3. Experience Through Jobs I have gained experience working with fellow employees and learning what it takes to be a Merchandizing and Operation Manager. Working at the Daily Wag in Denver, CO I gained experience and knowledge of what it takes to owning your own business through observing how my uncle was able to start this successful business.
4. Competitive Edge Throughout my entire life I have been a part of a sports team. I have played basketball since elementary school and this has brought out a very competitive edge in me. This competitive edge has helped me throughout my life in several situations such as getting accepted into college and competing for the position I have at work now. It will also help me in the future to compete for the job that I want in sports management or accounting.
5. Leadership & Teamwork I have been able to know my role as either the leader or in some cases I realize that it would be better off for the team or group for me to take direction and follow. Playing basketball in high school influenced me in being a leader and at the same time taught me how to follow when someone else may have the better leadership skills in a certain situation.
6. Determination “Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.“ – Michael Jordan Determination has been a value that I have possessed all of my life and will continue to strive for excellence no matter what.
7. Life Changing Event My trip to New York had an amazing influence on my goals. Being able to see the way the city works and how everybody seems to have high expectations for the way they live really impressed me. The biggest sports management firms in the United States are also located in New York.
8. Ultimate Goal My ultimate goal is to get a job in either sports management or accounting and be able to provide a great life for my family.
